Check out just what made the Xbox so memorable, and what this anniversary means to gamers.
"The grand adventure that is Fable has never really turned out to be that grand at all. Three games into the series and I’m still waiting for the RPG experience of a lifetime Peter Molyneux keeps promising me. Maybe he should stop posing for Turtleneck Monthly every chance he gets and check in on the development of his series."

"Mainstream media is very weird when it comes to video games. They either go the Fox News route by claiming that all video games are made with the blood of Satan, or they try to cover video games, which is a nice thought, but I have yet to see a mainstream media outlet cover video games fully. Finally, there is "ignore the fact that video games exist.""
Microsoft's Halo has a big hero in big armor but here are some ways you never expected to see Master Chief as. Unless you thought about Master Chief a crime fighter, to Master Chief a drug user to a pimp!

"Another summer season is upon us and you know what that means, E3 is coming! Yes, this year’s E3 convention is expected to be a landmark event, detailing one confirmed new system and possibly even more. Along with new consoles are numerous AAA titles like Mass Effect 3, Gears of War 3, Assassin’s Creed: Revelation, and Hitman: Absolution. With last year’s emphasis on motion capture technology, what new innovation will be brought to the table at his year’s three daylong event? Personally, I, R..."

"Our list looks back across the last 10 years to find a surprising number of compelling characters whose origin was completely artificial. Whether a malevolent computer program or a sentient transforming robot, these characters showed that science fiction storytelling is fond of the idea of machines that can think for themselves."

DreamWorks Pictures could be the first to produce a successful Halo movie if plans to move forward with obtaining the rights go to plan.
Spielberg hopes to focus on novelizations of the game as opposed to the games themselves, which could result in many fans being left disappointed.
Whilst plans are still in their early days, with rights still not being sold to DreamWorks, they aren't giving up easily; attempting to reach where Fox and Universal couldn't
"This morning at Joseph Staten’s GDC Online speech titled “Writing the Whirlwind”, he had warned the audience that he wouldn’t say one word about the developer’s plans for its first post-Halo game. But could Bungie’s writer and design director keep his mouth shut…of course not. When asked he stated"

"In an interview with Develop, the studio's communications manager, Brian Jarrard revealed that Bungie is building brand new internal tech for their next game. Development for the Activision published title is well under way."
The Halo series is one of the best series franchise that was ever created, and it is one of the most hyped title. The series started with Halo: Combat Evolved and the latest is Halo Reach, no wonder why this series has this much of popularity, it all started from the very first killer app. The series has an overall natural feeling of epicness for the fans, the answer to the question is the fan. Without the existence of the loyal Halo fan, it wouldn't be that popular.
The game has a story t...
"Let's take step back: it is now November 2001. The internet still isn't big, broadband is a pushing innovation, and that brand new "Xbox" launched from Microsoft. But what did that big, ugly system have that made anyone want it? The PS2 install base was already huge, and Gamecube had launched 3 days before it, setting it at a bad starting point ($300 for a gaming console was quite ridiculous at that time). But something strange happened. Word started getting around of a game on the Xbox that ..."
"Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has recently made the statement that, “The Call of Duty franchise is a force of nature. I think it is the closest thing this generation has to a Star Wars. I think it’s unique and bigger than any musical act or any movie franchise in that capacity.” While we appreciate Mr. Kotick’s enthusiasm for his product, we don’t believe there’s been a game that has come close to the cultural impact that Star Wars had when it was released in 1977. However, we humbly submit fiv..."

Xbox Evolved posts a new video about the new Red versus Blue epispode created by Rooster Teeth Productions using the Halo series in this Machinima creation.
"Both Sony and Microsoft could learn a little something from Nintendo and how they handle their major franchises and mascots. Microsoft has milked the Halo franchise to the point that the original developer can’t stand the idea of making another one. Sony on the other hand has pushed the God of War franchise a bit too much (six releases, with a seventh coming in Ghost of Sparta in under five years), but hasn’t sacrificed quality for quantity as fans of the series and critics alike both rave ab..."
"Halo is one of those game franchises that, like the Mario and Zelda before it, really doesn't need an introduction. The first game in the series was released in 2001, as a launch title for the original Xbox. Since then, the series has gone to spawn numerous sequels and spinoffs, including the upcoming Halo: Reach. To celebrate this anticipated event, here are some little known facts about the franchise that redefined online console gaming, and made dual wielding guns feel totally new even tho..."

"Because of the release of the Halo: Reach Beta, we’ve decided to make a little review of the huge Halo series. It is time, as Halo: Reach marks the conclusion of a grand series, to consider what the franchise created and developed in order to understand its future."
"When it comes to games, this generation of home consoles hasn't seen nearly as many exclusive as systems in the past did. But both Sony and Microsoft have done quite well at securing a few great exclusives each. And of course we're running down the sexiest female characters to appear in those titles. We did a list of the top five sexiest female characters to appear in Playstation 3 exclusives last week and we have to show the same respect to the women of the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 made it pre..."
"Microsoft has dropped the ball in so many instances now that it may be completely impossible to recover. Fans of the mega-company's gaming hardware have to face some facts at this point when it comes to the franchises that Microsoft had used to establish the Xbox brand in the first place. They're gone."
"This just popped in from IGN – the source of all reliable gaming news on the net.
We’ve been wondering what the hell has been happening with this, was it dead, would it be made, could it be made, why would it be made, and now our worst fears have been realized, they ‘are’ making a movie about our beloved game franchise.
I certainly hope that they can do it justice . .
You’ll have to check it out though, I’m a bit iffy on it though, while it is early work, I suppose it does show some ..."
Attending MegaCon this past year for all three days, my small crew and myself managed to capture possibly every (non anime) cosplayer at the event. Of course for Gaming news, I'm linking you to the gaming cosplayers, but I suggest using this link as more pictures (and video) will be added. Enjoy!

Here are two videos showing some of the best and worst FPS' ever released. Not all of your favourites will be in there but I had a laugh watching some footage of the worst games ever. It beggars belief how some of these games ever got released.
Check out these two youtube videos of some of the best and worst FPS' out there. It doesn't include all of them but the "worst" video is definitely worth a look, some hilariously bad games in there such as Rogue Warrior and Extreme Paint Brawl.
"A year ago, I attended a Halo wedding. It was in Orlando. The bride entered to a live rendition of the Halo 3 menu music. A man dressed as Master Chief married bride and groom. Here's what happened next.
A year past their wedding, Desirai Labrada and John Henry have become an inspiration to the surprising number of other couples who have met playing Halo. They have had their experience playing their favorite game online changed in ways they didn't expect. And they managed to squeeze into t..."
"Nothing is certain in today’s game industry. But the closest you’ll come to a sure thing is that movies based on video games suck. There are exceptions, sure. But most of the time, gamers end up regretting their ticket purchase after watching their favorite game get some off the wall adaption on the silver screen that fails to encompass any of the elements that made the game so good. So to save the movie industry some time, we’ve compiled a list of the top 5 games that need to get big screen ..."
All Age Gaming's John Elliott found an interesting bit of news that may signal that Bungie are set to break out from their regular Halo games and take on the task of creating an MMO game due to a recent job advertisement supposedly placed by the renowned developers. Find out more after the jump.
"As anyone who has played Fallout 3 can tell you, war never changes. If there is one question that has been kicked around between gamers on more than one occasion it’s about the items and weapons we see in the video games we play. After all, what could be better than actually getting your hands on the toys we get to watch our favorite video game characters use on a daily basis? The answer of course is having them and there would be few things cooler than having access to a real Lancer, as terr..."
"Speaking at BAFTA’s Annual Video Games Lecture last night, Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux revealed what he believes to be the 5 most revolutionary games from the past 20 years.
In a typically passionate and engaging presentation, Molyneux spoke of the need for designers to defy perceived wisdom and custom, saying, “The best innovations come from challenging the foundation stones of conventional wisdom.” The 5 games selected by Molyneux were specifically chosen for their success in doing just..."
"Scenes from the long awaited animated debut of the Halo franchise, Halo Legends, will be wowing crowds in the UK for the first time at the London MCM Expo along with some of the team working on the project. On top of that, as previously revealed here at Electronic Theatre, a life size replica of the Master Chief’s vehicle of choice, the Warthog, will be present for photo opportunities at the show held on 24-25 October at the Excel Centre."
"The M12 ‘Warthog’ LRV is an A-reg 1984 Land Rover Defender 110, rescued from the GumTree 4×4 yard before its eventual scrapping due to MoT failure. Rebuilt by Props Studios, the vehicle has been fitted with an entirely new body and lifted suspension, along with as a heap of other modifications. It’s thought that the vehicle will arrive in London in full working order."

"When asked by Eurogamer whether one of its unannounced titles is indeed Halo 4, Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford replied “we're not going to talk about anything”, after which a PR representative reportedly terminated the interview, stating simply “we can’t talk about that”.
In total Pitchford refused to answer the question four times.

"We all know how big a nerd Marc Ecko is; he says it himself all the time. In fact he loves video games so much he helped produce his own game called Marc Ecko’s Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure. It was released three years ago and received decent reviews. His love for video games doesn’t stop there; today Ecko has released a Limited Edition line of Halo T-shirts."
"Most games usually require a lot of touch-up work during their development before they're ready for release. Usually it's nothing major. A haircut for the main character here, the occasional unintentionally offensive Arabic song removed there. Some games, though, go through more than mere cosmetic changes. The following collection of titles all changed drastically during their development cycles. Sometimes for the better. Sometimes not."
Teaser video as seen at E3 2009 Xbox 360 Media Briefing. Halo Reach will arrive some time in 2010, and a beta key is to be made available upon the launch of ODST.
A "long suffering" woman wants to know why her boyfriend plays so many games, so ex-model, actress and TV star Tyra Banks and co-host of X-Play Morgan Webb try to "decode" male gamers and attempt to help this woman's boyfriend with his gaming "problem". It's painful to watch.
I don't know about anyone else, but my suggestion would be to tell the girlfriend to *bleep* up and accept her boyfriend's harmless hobby. Relationships are a two-way street, after all.
Maybe she could even...
"Religion. In real life, it’s all kneeling, self-reflection and guilt. In games, it’s all alien conspiracies, demon worship and craftily put together cults designed to rob us of our readies. The following faiths might all be deceitful, money-grabbing or just downright homicidal, but at least they’re exciting. And hell, adopt a positive attitude, take everything they say at face value and follow their orders blindly, and we might even make it through one of their sermons with all our limbs. Hal..."

Though Bungie has long since departed from Microsoft, the makers of the Xbox 360 have no intention of letting one of the biggest gaming franchises ever go to waste. During the weekend, Microsoft dropped a hint about the future of the Halo series and franchise, by way of a job listing on their website. Calling it an "immersive new world", it's evident Microsoft plans to further the franchise past FPS and RTS and give us a taste of a Massively Multiplayer Online Halo game.
Recently Microsoft and Bungie touted the milestone one-billionth game played on Halo 3's online component. Even more recently, talk is up about Halo 3:ODST, and what the plot is concerning the game. However, what is most prevalent is mentions of Master Chief's return to the Halo series once more. As is seen in the last paragraph, Halo franchise development director Frank O'Connor clearly teases that Halo 4 has a strong possibility of showing up.
"So, when you've got a new computer game to plug what do you? Easy, you trawl the UK to find UK's hottest female Halo fan.
And after a rather vague selection process which just might have involved wandering round a few modelling agencies, Xbox decided on 25-year-old Amanda Johnstone from South London, a girl who likes nothing more than 'being snuggled up in bed with her Xbox controller, playing Halo to help take her away from her daily stresses.' Halo duvet cover and pillow case set natural..."

"Video game characters, though they might swear and be the master of unlocking locks, are usually not badass, mainly because theyre so stiff and run-of-the-mill. But then, there are exceptions, such as this list below, which is a compilation of characters so badass that they can even make YOU feel badass while playing as them, thats how cool they are. Sadly, though, Im pretty sure none of them have wallets that say bad mother*bleep*er on them. Oh, well, I never said that they were Samuel ..."
"MrWeymes Says: It seems like every time an exclusive first person shooter is announced for the Playstation 3, it is instantly dubbed as a "Halo killer" by anticipatory Sony supporters. The original Resistance: Fall of Man comes to mind. While it may have sold well, and established a respectable fan base, it in no way "killed" the Halo franchise. Haze is another game that was hyped up beyond belief, and was also given the title of "Halo killer." That game was met with average reviews, and didn..."
"Assuming Microsoft doesn't extend the Deal of the Week program past the end of December, this'll be the last bargain they throw at you. Not sure how well this game's gonna sell once Christmas arrives and everyone's flush with new games but still, kudos to Microsoft for lowering the price on one of the good Xbox Originals."
"Desirai and John are big-time "Halo" players. She games under the name SickNDeHead. He plays as PsychoVandal. They met when she lived in New York and he was in Florida. She'd become Xbox Live friends with his roommate, and they slowly started to play games together, regularly. When he didn't show up online one day during the time they usually played, she sent him a message and her phone number.
"I was drawn to her laugh," John said in a phone interview with MTV News earlier this week. "I h..."

"2001 was a pioneering year for video games. Nintendo released its GameCube console, and Microsoft entered the video game market with the Xbox. Meanwhile, the PlayStation 2 continued to dominate the market while Sega announced that they would be pulling out of the console business, killing support for the Dreamcast to focus on software. On the handheld front, Nintendo released their Game Boy Advance.
Before the Dreamcast went away, though, it did see a few milestones. 800,000 people found ..."

For those who don't know, the Large Hadron Collider is a proton accelerator which scientists hope will help them discover just what exactly happened after the Big Bang occured.
But it seems that the scientists behind the Collider have grown sick of people misplacing their d's and r's and so decided to hold a poll for the public to vote for a new, catchier name. Today the results of said poll were announced and the new name is; "Halo".
Another alleged videogame related death. This time involving the popular Xbox shooter Halo. 11 year old Johnson Creek boy Nimm was apparently a big fan of Halo, even taking a liking to firearms after playing the futuristic FPS. While at home skipping school Nimm was apparently trying to imitate moves from the game with his .22 caliber rifle (a common pastime for the child). However he did not obviously grasp that a round could still be loaded in the chamber even when the magazine ejected and ...
A Softer World, if you aren't familiar, is a comic website that also sells shirts and books and stuff. Recently it's co-creator Joey Comeau has taken it upon himself to interview interesting folks he knows. Up now is Hamilton Chu, Director of Special Projects at Blizzard Entertainment.
The interview focuses on his career as distanced further from the hands-on aspect of development, and "glory and love and things." A unique one, to be sure.
Everyone (Sony fans, and Final Fantasy fans) seem to be clamoring about FFXIII not being PS3 exclusive. This isn't the first time this has happened ladies and gentlemen. Lest you forget that VII (arguably one of the best in the series) was originally intended for the N64?
GamesRadar goes through a list of 10 more titles that brought out a similar reaction with fans.
At the 2008 Developer Conference and Expo yesterday, Damian Isla, who wrote the AI script for Halo 2 and currently works on Halo 3. "Bungie is one of the most talented studios out there, constantly living up to the hype with the Halo games. Whatever they make, whatever is going to be announced or shown, whether its new footage of Halo Wars, the revelation of Peter Jacksons new Halo trilogy, all of which are games that Bungie has a hand in, or something completely new, theres no denying one thing: Whatever Bungie does is going to be massive, whether its a new Halo or something new, or even more than one reveal."
"Plenty of people use non-expensive laptops and desktop pcs for simple school projects, music management, and web browsing. A lot of these people are also gamers, but don't buy games for their PCs because they think that their setup can't handle anything beyond Bejewled. Well they're wrong. I happen to be one of those gamers. I got my laptop last Christmas and ignorantly popped in the Orange Box and after the lengthy install, dove into Half-Life 2. It wasn't pretty. I thought my computer was g..."
"In a recent interview, Microsofts Senior Vice President of Interactive Entertainment, Don Mattrick, responded to Bungies public disagreement with the companys decision to put off their E3 Halo announcement. Mattrick was quoted saying:
One of the things that we decided, when you have the number one game in the world as we have in Halo, its a safe prediction that if we do a separate event for Halo, that itll be well-attended, well covered
"
Bungie couldn't make it to E3 due to some changes in their schedule and now we have some details on what Bungie was going to show. They were going to show a one minute knockem down" trailer to end the media part of Microsoft's press conference. After that, Bungie was going to show off the game on Wednesday.
"Note: Just a quote. Not the entire article.
"3. Halo: Combat Evolved
This game, although heralded by many a stooge, has so many problems and missing features that it's impossible to play. For one, the game disk doesn't work when I place it in my PS2 (which I bought from Wal-Mart). It's obvious that the developers are *bleep* based off of this anomaly alone, as any game that doesn't run on a PS2 was probably created by homosexuals.""
"Video Games Live: Volume One is downloadable in the UK from today, with the release of the CD and an iTunes exclusive version coming later, to coincide with the VG Live events kicking off in Europe at Leipzig on August 20
If you've ever been to one of the actual events, you'll know that it's an awesome showcase of some of gaming's very best tunes - though the Tron soundtrack can bugger right off, if you ask us.

Cold Storage, a reinvisioned version of Chill Out from the original Halo, was released earlier this week on Bungie Day.

"Now our source is really sticking her/his/its neck out.
As we told you earlier, our inside woman/man/thing got hold of some pretty exciting news.
News that Bungie was already hard at work developing what will be Halo 4.
Now were told that this will be announced officially at E3.
The prior news was probably like a weatherman predicting a hurricane sometime somewhere. This starts the ticking clock for what would end up being a pretty big deal."
If you're a big fan of Halo, no doubt you'll be wondering what will happen to the series now that Master Chief's story is over. It looks like Bungie/Microsoft have plans for more Halo games, but fans might feel a little wary at the ideas that the companies have come up with...
Microsoft recently released a marketing survey asking fans what they want to see in the next Halo game and, by the looks of it, a "family friendly" Halo, a Halo racing game, and a LEGA Halo aren't out of the question...
"Nothing's perfect. Stare closely enough at anything - even a masterpiece - and you're bound to find flaws sooner or later. They might be small. They might be insignificant. They might not detract from the overall quality of the piece at all...
Except when they really, really do. With these seven games, in fact, you don't need to stare. Their flaws are so huge, so obvious, so frustrating and so effing obnoxious that you can't help but notice them, despise them and wonder how the damn things..."

The results proved less neutral than gamers might expect, with red players winning 55 percent of the time over blue. According to neuroscientist Mihai Moldovan of the University of Copenhagen, this is because red is a distracting color for men, thus blue teams struggle more for kills.

"A widely published story that a 13-year-old has been convicted of fraud after stealing his dad's credit card and ordering two prostitutes from an escort agency may be a hoax.
The original story said Ralph Hardy used the card to take his friends on a $US30,000 spending spree that ended with them playing Halo on an Xbox with prostitutes in a Texas motel, according to a Money.co.uk report.
However police from the county where the alleged incident was supposedly took place say the story d..."
My, my. This is a first. While it's not the first time someone has stolen their father's debit or credit card, this is certainly one of the first times that hookers were involved. In fact, this is a story that might even put Eliot Spitzer in a more positive light. A thirteen year-old Texan decided that he and some friends were going to order a new credit card using his father's existing card to go out and buy the services of a pair of escort girls.
The catch? The teenagers preferred t...
"Following Bungie's split from Microsoft, it looked like it was over for both the Halo developer and their corpse-humping shooter for a while, but according to the latest round of magazine rumours a new Halo is already well underway (we can hear the hype machine being prepped already).
According to US mag Electronic Gaming Monthly, Bungie's already prepping a Halo spin-off for release in late 2009.
Supposedly, it's a third-person "action/adventure shooter hybrid," that takes place before..."
"UPDATE: Microsoft just contacted MTV Multiplayer with an official statement, confirming the prospective hires will work on Peter Jacksons Halo project.
A Peter Jackson-helmed Halo project was announced at X06 in Barcelona, said a Microsoft spokesperson. Since then, Microsoft Game Studios has been hard at work collaborating with Peter Jackson and Bungie on the development of that project. At this time, its necessary to grow the internal team to keep pace with development. Bungie will..."
"Internet phenomenon Rooster Teeth, creators of the hit series Red vs. Blue: The Blood Gulch Chronicles, have announced a new series titled Red vs. Blue: Reconstruction. The only information available on the new series is the release of a teaser trailer that appears to change the focus of the RT group from comedy to suspense. However, when the nature of the Halo 3-set series was questioned in the teaser's comments Rooster Teeth front-man Burnie Burns told fans, "Don't let appearances fool you.""
Ah, the Halo Movie. Either you produce it or don't produce it, you know? Anyway, word on the internet (this was news published yesterday but promised not to be an April Fool's joke) is that the Halo producers have found a new writer in hopes of reducing costs and getting the movie back on track.
The screenwriter is "Stuart Beattie" (who penned the script for the G.I. Joe movie) wrote a screenplay in his spare time, without Microsoft's knowledge, just because he was a big Halo fanatic. The...
Apparently due to conflicting egos during the development process, the DS version of Halo was canned. But, gamers hopes must've did something, because Microsoft has changed their mind and decided to go ahead with the game. A promotional cover can be pictured here, as well some screens from the demo.
Lego Halo?!?!?!? According to the latest issue of EGM, Microsoft Game Studios and Bungie are working on a LEGO Halo game for the Xbox 360. According to the article in EGM, LEGO Halo will have you play through all three games in the Halo trilogy.
"Yes, just when you thought you were the ultimate Halo geek, just when you thought there was nothing else that Bungie could whore its first-person behemoth onto, up prances Germanys favourite three-striped sporting brand with a truly, truly hideous addition to the growing catalogue of Halo merchandise disasters.
A picture is worth a thousand words and, in this case, if we were pushed to submit a thousand-word news article then the vast majority of them would begin with f and end with uc..."
"In their latest podcast, Bungie team members revealed that the new game the Halo developer is currently keeping themselves busy with is something very different from what gamers have come to expect from the company.
As usual with games very early in the development cycle, the devs are keeping their lips sealed for the time being, saying its still far far too early to talk about any specifics. And, as opposed to bashing their own game, one of them said: some of the stuff that Ive seen ..."
If you're a gamer with the money to spare - and also no sense of shame - then eBay has the ultimate representation of your passion with all things Halo. Yes, the Covenant Energy Sword. A hulking stainless steel replica of one of Halo's most deadly weapons.
Here's a bit of advice for those who enjoy breathing, don't take it to the mall with you.
"For most, the prospect of escaping to the online world of Xbox Live is something anticipated with excitement over the course of yet another mundane days existence. However, for two young sisters in the state of Washington, Microsofts hugely popular multiplayer haven recently became the platform for a friendship that quickly turned into a frightening obsession."
"As we all know, obesity is a serious issue especially in the US, and fat kids are becoming the majority (lets see you pick on them now), but who carries the blame for turning the youth into useless balls of fat? Well, I know what youre thinking, lots of fat food and soda right? Maybe the food has something to do with it, but definitely not the sweet soda. At least thats what the American Beverage Association (ABA) is saying."
A 14 year-old boy, attending a middle school in Wyoming, was suspended for sketches of the popular video game, Halo. Search warrants were assigned to the boy's house, his father's home, and took his computer for evidence. The boy has not been charged with any crimes, however, he did threaten a fellow pupil and he has been seen shooting pigeons with an assault rifle while on his roof.
I think this has truly nothing to do with Halo, but with the danger of the kid hurting someone.
MSNBC have just added a article showcasing their top 5 favourite songs in video games. The 5 games are listed in no certain order. So without further a due the five games that made the list are the following:
Ms. Pac-Man
The Legend of Zelda
Final Fantasy VII
Halo
Super Mario Bros
"Some time ago, I blogged about playing a cancelled version of Halo DS. The game was the real deal, created by a real development studio and with a very big publisher. But for reasons we won't discuss, Halo DS was never released. Clearly. Obviously. Still, it would've been cool, huh?
My Halo DS blog has haunted me since I posted it because many people were skeptical of my claims. I wouldn't make something like that up, of course, but that hardly silenced any of my critics. When my brother ..."
The article creator has a friend who works at Bungie and he submitted the article creator an email saying Bungie is leaving Microsoft and the email also features reasons to why this is happening. It seems that Bungie are basically Microsoft's slaves. Microsoft is not allowing them to work on any other different project that's not to do with the Halo series and Bungie dislikes this. Even though this is still a rumour the article creator also adds that he has full faith with this contact of his.
"Speaking with Bungie at an exclusive Microsoft event this month we were informed that there was no rest for the wicked for the team as they were already beavering away at the next Halo game in the franchise. When questioned whether the game would be a prequel, Bungie remained tight lipped as always but we have a hunch that the game might actually be Halo - The Movie Game (insert movie title prefix here). Either way, it's early days considering many are still tackling the single player of Halo..."
"The biggest problem with great games is how everybody is always jabbering on about how damn wonderful they are. Which got us thinking: surely even the very finest videogames must have the odd blemish on their flawless complexions, the occasional fly in an otherwise unspoiled tub of ointment?
Click below to see what really got GamerSquads goat in the likes of Goldeneye, Half-Life, Halo, and Zelda: Ocarina of Time."
"Welcome to the UGO's World of Halo. This is the realm of Master Chief. Enter and join the epic battle that has been chronicled in video games (including Halo 3, Halo Wars, and beyond) novels (The Fall of Reach and The Flood), comics (The Graphic Novel and Uprising) and the Halo movie."
"Weve all played a game where someone other than the main character has a huge role in the game, usually an unsung role. The problem is that these characters are absolutely vital to not only the enjoyment of the game but in pushing the story further along and quite often even saving the main character a time or two. Well it's time these silent saviors get recognized, so here's the top 5 best supporting characters. They were picked based on personality, in-game presence, and over-all abilit..."
Hawty Mc Bloggy has written a funny little article that will let you in on ten little tips that you can use to hit on chicks online when playing a game, but inspired by Halo. Check out the lines at the source, go online, try them out and see how your results turn out! Here is an example: "Are we playing Assault? Cause Im pretty sure you are the bomb."
Encompassing everything from Halo to Sonic, big bands and beautiful voices lead this Top 10 countdown of some of the very best video game music covers YouTube currently has to offer.
"Here it is everybody, the freebies from Bungie. On Xbox Live, you can get a new theme and picture pack set. Remember, it's only available until Sunday.
On Bungie's Web site, they've released the lovely picture seen above from the cover of Gamepro magazine. They've also released some information on the Brute Chopper and two variations of the Mjolnir armor. The pictures of the Mjolnir armor are in 3D so you can spin them right round and view all the angles of the image.
I always find it..."
A french coder by the name of Xero has released a 2D demo of Microsoft's Halo game onto the Playstation Portable. The demo is nothing like the original, but instead, it has a side-scrolling view with two gameplay modes. It's just been released, so there are a few bugs and there has been a few reported crashes. To be safe, you should run it on custom firmware 3.10 OE or 1.0.
"Proving that you're never too old to play with toys (just hope you never hear editor Stevie let loose his passion for Transformers!), Todd McFarlane Toys has today told Next-Gen that it actively pursued, and secured, the rights to make a new line of action figures based on the Halo videogame franchise."
20th Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising has announced a partnership with Microsoft where they will be the licensing agent for the Halo franchise. Does this mean that there's still a chance the movie to be produced or does it just mean I'll be drinking out of Halo-themed coffee mugs? (which is still cool none-the-less). This can mean only good things for both companies. (watch their Stocks sky-rocket in the next few months, just my luck I didn't buy FOX)
"UPDATE: Did Shane Kim's loose lips reveal too much, too soon? Microsoft doesn't think so. Kim and Microsoft have told 1UP this morning "he was misquoted (or possibly misspoke) during the GameSpy interview, but either way, it was an error."
Microsoft reiterated the fact that Jackson's project is a Halo interactive series, but wouldn't say anything more than that.
ORIGINAL STORY: We first heard about Peter Jackson collaborating with Microsoft and Bungie on a Halo-related project in 2006, bu..."
"There have been some seriously mixed signals about the future of the Halo franchise once Halo 3 drops this fall. Apparently, it's the end of Bungie's trilogy that started on the original Xbox, but we're still anticipating Halo Wars from Ensemble Studios and a spin-off spearheaded by filmmaker Peter Jackson. Does Halo 3 mean the removal of Bungie from the franchise's lead, or simply the end of Master Chief?
The head of Microsoft Game Studios, Shane Kim, doesn't make the situation much clear..."
"A while back we told you about one bad mother of a fan made Halo assault rifle replica. Today, we're telling you that you can bring her home for only a few hundred dollars. Over on eBay that same assault rifle is up for auction and is currently sitting at $227 with roughly eight days left and the reserve still not met. From what we remember, a whole lot of work went into creating this bad boy, so maybe hundreds of dollars is justifiable. Actually, if you already decided to purchase the Halo 3..."
