Sequels are the game that tend to make the most money in this industry, so it is pretty much expected that every big game will get one or more sequels. It can be great when a sequel turns out as good or better than the original, but it can be devastating when it doesn't. These 10 games didn't to live up to the quality of their predecessors, and failed to meet fans' high expectations.

"For this top 10 list I have decided to countdown my 10 favorite video game heroes. These characters earn a spot on this list by being courageous, daring, strong, skilled, smart, or any combination of those that make them shine above the crowd. These characters are vital to the survival of numerous people and they are the best at what they do. I’ve only included characters from games that I have personally played. Here’s my 10 favorite video game heroes:"

"Sequels are what gamers of all walks look forward to after finishing an original. But, while getting the same thing can be good, pending there’s been even a chunky slurry of improvements to the meaty whole of the gameplay sometimes we end up getting nothing more than a rotting carcass of disappointment. It may not necessarily be the sequels fault, occasionally the shoes are just too big for the next game to live up to the expectations of the fans – while it rarely is just a case that the game..."

"You won't find Link's Master Sword or Mario's fireballs here, folks. Instead, we've chosen to focus on those weapons that make players most eager to pull the trigger again and again."

"Call of Duty: Black Ops has shattered the record for the biggest gaming launch of all time. This factoid may have made you wonder what other games launched big, and what kind of money they brought in."

"Since there are literally hundreds of thousands of games out there, it’s no easy task for lead characters to make a lasting impression on the player. Once in a while however, you'll come across a leader that's different. Somehow, that character manages to set himself apart from the others."

"Since Halo: Combat Evolved, the multiplayer Bungie has produced is practically unparalleled on consoles, with each title reinventing and complicating the formula, establishing its own identity along the way."

"Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has recently made the statement that, “The Call of Duty franchise is a force of nature. I think it is the closest thing this generation has to a Star Wars. I think it’s unique and bigger than any musical act or any movie franchise in that capacity.” While we appreciate Mr. Kotick’s enthusiasm for his product, we don’t believe there’s been a game that has come close to the cultural impact that Star Wars had when it was released in 1977. However, we humbly submit fiv..."

"When it comes to games, this generation of home consoles hasn't seen nearly as many exclusive as systems in the past did. But both Sony and Microsoft have done quite well at securing a few great exclusives each. And of course we're running down the sexiest female characters to appear in those titles. We did a list of the top five sexiest female characters to appear in Playstation 3 exclusives last week and we have to show the same respect to the women of the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 made it pre..."

"If there's one thing Destructoid doesn't do enough of, it's the cataloging and rating of female body parts in a cynical bid to keep the virgins and date rapists interested. Fortunately, we plan to address that with a new series of articles that catalog and rate female body parts in a cynical bid to keep the virgins and date rapists interested. The hits will come flooding in.

So, arses. Everybody loves a good arse, unless they're proctologists who I feel wouldn't want to take their work ho..."

"Nothing is certain in today’s game industry. But the closest you’ll come to a sure thing is that movies based on video games suck. There are exceptions, sure. But most of the time, gamers end up regretting their ticket purchase after watching their favorite game get some off the wall adaption on the silver screen that fails to encompass any of the elements that made the game so good. So to save the movie industry some time, we’ve compiled a list of the top 5 games that need to get big screen ..."

""Ever since the dawn of man people have figured out that if you make something successful, and then make some similar to that first thing that it will also make millions of dollars. This is the basic premise behind all movie and video game franchises, and it has been happening since the beginning of both forms of entertainment. Sometimes it works great (Star Wars IV-VI) and sometimes it's a complete disaster (Star Wars I-III); because of this fact we decided to go back and pick what we believ..."

"Facelifts and other forms of cosmetic surgery aren’t just for aging MILFs, dried-up Hollywood C-listers and 40 stone blobs who have to get forklifted out of their beds. No, sometimes our favourite game stars need a bit of a nip and tuck too. After all, there’s no point battling hordes of the undead or saving the planet from a cult of religious alien zealots if you’re sporting last season’s armour or an out of date ‘do. In the spirit of self improvement, the following image-conscious character..."

"In gaming today, stories are a huge part of the experience, and the ending means a lot after your hours of effort to reach your final goal. However, sometimes your graft is not worth the results. Koku Gamer brings you the ‘Top Ten Worst Endings in the Last 5 Years’, to celebrate (or commiserate) the most recent disappointments in gaming. Remember, this is about endings, so expect spoilers!"

Unless you want to know which actor played a certain role in a movie or game, people generally don't bother watching credits. Usually consisting of black background with white scrolling text, they're boring. So it's always nice when developers try to spice up the ending credits in an attempt to get you to watch them. Here are Gamesradar's Best And Worst Ending Credits In Games.

"I fended off last year's hype machines like a fish resisting a hook, but by fall I was caught and reeled in by the likes of Spore, LittleBigPlanet, Gears of War 2 and Fallout 3. They were all innovative, and unique and groundbreaking, but none met my unreachable expectations.

Was it always like this? Has every big release launched like an easy home run, only to strike the foul post? My childhood memories say, "No," but my retrospective of the Most Hyped Games Ever says, "Yes."

That's ..."

"We’ve all played a game where someone other than the main character has a huge role in the game, usually an unsung role. The problem is that these characters are absolutely vital to not only the enjoyment of the game but in pushing the story further along and quite often even saving the main character a time or two. Well it's time these silent saviors get recognized, so here's the top 5 best supporting characters. They were picked based on personality, in-game presence, and over-all abilit..."

"Welcome to IGN's weekly countdown of the exceptional, fascinating, and absurd: something we like to call Top 10 Tuesday. Every week we'll feature the top ten games, characters, fashion statements or whatever else we can think of that in some way relates to gaming and its history. And just because it's called Top 10 Tuesday doesn't mean it's always going to be a list of the best -- we like to razz on stuff as much as we like to praise it. From counting down the best consoles ever to revealing ..."

IGN had created a top co-op list of 10 video games that used the feature best. I'm certainly glad of there No.1 choosing as I've played this game and I must say it is the best co-op game you can get. The games are on different gaming consoles and not just one. Although I'm surprised Halo 2 made it into the top 10 list because I've played this game and didn't understand what all the hype was about.
