"When asked by Eurogamer whether one of its unannounced titles is indeed Halo 4, Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford replied “we're not going to talk about anything”, after which a PR representative reportedly terminated the interview, stating simply “we can’t talk about that”.



In total Pitchford refused to answer the question four times.

Though Bungie has long since departed from Microsoft, the makers of the Xbox 360 have no intention of letting one of the biggest gaming franchises ever go to waste. During the weekend, Microsoft dropped a hint about the future of the Halo series and franchise, by way of a job listing on their website. Calling it an "immersive new world", it's evident Microsoft plans to further the franchise past FPS and RTS and give us a taste of a Massively Multiplayer Online Halo game.

Recently Microsoft and Bungie touted the milestone one-billionth game played on Halo 3's online component. Even more recently, talk is up about Halo 3:ODST, and what the plot is concerning the game. However, what is most prevalent is mentions of Master Chief's return to the Halo series once more. As is seen in the last paragraph, Halo franchise development director Frank O'Connor clearly teases that Halo 4 has a strong possibility of showing up.

OXCGN found some interesting information while scouting todays Venture Capital news. It seem Microsoft could well be cutting some decent jobs in January 2009.

Ryan Payton recently left Kojima Productions citing "family issues", but he could be back behind the helm of a game sooner than we think. Kotaku is reporting that reliable sources are stating that Microsoft have hired Payton to be the creative director on the upcoming, and still not dead, Peter Jackson Halo game.

In the October issue of the OXM magazine, there is a very, very big rumor inside: Gearbox Software is developing Halo 4 as a launch title for the next generation Xbox!

Don't worry, this isn't just some crazy rumor with no evidence: earlier in the year, Randy Pitchford, the CEO and President of Gearbox said they were working on something big. "When you find out what this is, you'll likely agree that I can't oversell this one," he stated.

The video was made because because Bungie won the Edge Innovation Award, which Halo 3 has won two times in a row now. The Rumor Mill report in the December 2007 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly has a juicy Halo-related tidbit. According to the Q-Man, Microsoft is hard at work on a Massively Multiplayer Online game based in the Halo universe. There is also speculation this is connected to the Peter Jackson Halo project that was announced at X06.
