"With a rock-steady online following and a much more impressive game library than they had in the last console generation, Microsoft has been doing quite well for itself the last few years. Though the Wii still reigns in sales, and the PS3 is steadily catching up, the Xbox 360 has held its ground like a Spartan II facing an army of suicide grunts. "As 2011 gets rolling, it’s only natural to look back on 2010 and, since we’ve just made it through the first 10 years of the 2000s, the past decade as well. From 2000-2010, the game industry has seen plenty of ups and downs, and no company better exemplifies that than Microsoft. From the unassuming release of the Xbox in 2001 to the ambitious Kinect this past November, the company has had its share of hits and misses."

"I won’t lie: this gaming year has been a difficult one for OXCGN’s staff. (Cue violins). It seems most of us have had a hard time balancing a lack of time, a lack of money, and a lack of interest in the current crop of gamer’s games.
The general lack of innovation and proliferation of sequels in hard-core games in a difficult economic climate has seen many of us often turn to alternative (and often cheaper) gaming experiences like on smartphones or XBLA and PSN. (okay, kill violins).

"Not all achievements are created equal, however. Some, or maybe I should even say MOST, are pretty easy to complete. I mean, upon release, Microsoft allows developers to include a variable number (typically around fifty) of achievements for a total gamerscore of 1000 points, so a large percentage of achievements are awarded for beating campaign chapters on any difficulty or for performing tasks that must be completed in order to complete a game. That’s not to say that all chapter-completion s..."
"My relationship with Halo is a little hot and cold, however. I could spend hours talking about everything that’s great about the gameplay. The graphics are great, the music is fantastic (the piano intro in the Halo 3 menus still makes my spine tingle), the action is intense...everything is great, an absolute home run on every front. In general, the online multiplayer experience is an opportunity for shooter franchises to really make a name for themselves and Bungie knows this, as evidenced by..."

"That said, even as shooters are flying high with the success of all the Halos and Call of Duty’s there is an undeniable sense that the current model for the genre may be reaching a breaking point. As excited as some were when Halo: Reach and Call of Duty: Black Ops were announced there were also more than a few people rolling their eyes. I have no doubt that Black Ops will entertaining game. But it’s probably not going to be anything we haven’t seen before. A brief, single player campaign and..."

"Bungie's final Halo game has received high praise since its release on 14th September, which in itself was a rather strange day to release a game under the slogan 'Remember Reach'. After all, it closely followed the anniversary of a real life atrocity - far better to be remembered than this bland, self-indulgent swan song from a decent developer that got lazy."

"It is here. Halo: Reach; possibly one of the biggest exits from a franchise ever made. A universe of fanboy hope, love and angst rides on Bungie’s final title in a franchise that basically made both the Xbox, and its successor the Xbox 360, what they are today. And now I am lucky enough (or unlucky, since this is no easy feat) to be reviewing possibly one of the greatest and most hyped console games the world has ever seen. The end of an era, the end of so many memories."
Here is a review from a knowledgeable Halo player who has taken the game inside out and detailed its many inner workings in what is expected to be the triumphant return of the Halo franchise. See his findings.
"Halo: Reach is a sad game in many ways, and it saddens me to be writing this review today. An over the top good, very enjoyable one, as you'll see if you keep reading my review; it also represents an end of an era, the final Halo game made by the studio that started them all: Bungie. They are now off to newer and better things, (multiplatform titles for Activision), but for the time being, Halo: Reach is their final touch on the franchise."

"Back when I was at THQ, I was assigned to work on some Hello Kitty products. I thought it was going to kill me til I found out just how fascinating the whole Hello Kitty brand is (It's the 3rd biggest cartoon brand in the world.) Ever since then I respect the kitty. The second reason why I like Joseph? Checking out his Myspace page, he's got a dog just like my own Bishon mix, Yoshi. Takes a real man to love kitty and cute dogs."
"Love it or hate it, the Halo franchise is, for lack of a better word, one of the main pinnacles of first-person shooting gameplay, across the board. It's easy to point out that the series would probably struggle on the PC, that nothing about it is particularly realistic, or that while first person shooting gameplay has progressed into the realm of role playing games, team-based zombie killing, plot-based multiplayer, Halo has largely ignored most of those gimmicks. Sometimes it can even feel ..."

"Well ThumbPad readers, I was lucky enough to be sent to a Microsoft event this past week and I gotta tell you, it was pretty damn good. I got to see Halo: Reach in action as well as play a bit of the Firefight mode, see some Kinect being played before my eyes, as well as listen to Buzz Aldrin. What the second man on the moon was doing here to promote a video game I have no real idea... But I'm not complaining. It was an interesting night which I'll now tell you about and I took quite a few pi..."

It has since made its way on to torrent sites where it can be downloaded by all. However, before you go and jump at the chance to play Bungie's last Halo game nearly a month before it is released, be aware that doing so can get you and your console permanently banned from Xbox LIVE."

The Kartel looks at some recent 8-bit remakes of some of today's most loved games. From Halo to Final Fantasy, and even Twilight, all made into games that would not be out of place on the NES.
Consider this another rumor squashed as Bungie has confirmed that Halo: Reach will definitely not feature 3D of any kind after reports from earlier today suggested it might. Instead, it is the result of a marketing gimmick from a TV manufacturer.
Whether this is an actual stereoscopic 3D implementation of Halo: Reach or a marketing ploy is unknown at this time but the GamesCom Microsoft booth has a 3D setup for the game.
The Halo series is one of the best series franchise that was ever created, and it is one of the most hyped title. The series started with Halo: Combat Evolved and the latest is Halo Reach, no wonder why this series has this much of popularity, it all started from the very first killer app. The series has an overall natural feeling of epicness for the fans, the answer to the question is the fan. Without the existence of the loyal Halo fan, it wouldn't be that popular.

"Let's take step back: it is now November 2001. The internet still isn't big, broadband is a pushing innovation, and that brand new "Xbox" launched from Microsoft. But what did that big, ugly system have that made anyone want it? The PS2 install base was already huge, and Gamecube had launched 3 days before it, setting it at a bad starting point ($300 for a gaming console was quite ridiculous at that time). But something strange happened. Word started getting around of a game on the Xbox that ..."

"Huge releases in the form of new Halo and Call of Duty games on the schedule and a steady announcement of game delays. Sound familiar? It should because it happened in 2009 with game after game delayed due to either avoid a crowded market, ensure quality, or to avoid the juggernauts of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Halo 3: ODST. Are we headed for the same with 2010?"

"During Bungie’s Comic-Con panel, Halo’s creator declared one of the most anticipated announcement, here are the words:
“You haven’t seen the last of Master Chief.”

I remember the day I got the "Limited Edition" Halo 3 Xbox 360, it was one of the very few SKU's to offer an HDMI port. Then 5 months later it died on me. Announced Yesterday the Limited Edition bundle features a very nice design and the people over at Bungie wanted to be the first to release an unboxing video. Check it out.
"Another new detail about Halo: Reach revealed at Comic-Con today was a new twist on the Firefight mode that originally made its debut in Halo 3: ODST. Thought the Forge editor in Halo 3 was limiting? Then check out what Bungie has in store for you with Forge World. Plenty of upgrades and new tools.

"After the fallout from the Infinity Ward and Activision kerfuffle, many of the ex-Infinity Ward developers moved on to create their own development studio called Respawn Entertainment and quickly signed a deal with Electronic Arts for new games. "Halo 3: ODST introduced "Firefight" to the Halo series and much like "Horde" mode in Gear of War 2 it pitted four players against wave after wave of enemies. Teamwork and strategy were required to survive to the very end and the new game mode ended up being a hit with Halo gamers despite missing a few components like online matchmaking. Now Bungie has introduced an all new and improved Firefight for the Xbox 360 exclusive Halo: Reach at E3."

With the Halo Reach Beta now ended, Ian Crane from All Age Gaming reflects on the Beta and gives us his opinion on the small taste of Halo Reach that Bungie and Microsoft provided ODST owners.
"Both Sony and Microsoft could learn a little something from Nintendo and how they handle their major franchises and mascots. Microsoft has milked the Halo franchise to the point that the original developer can’t stand the idea of making another one. Sony on the other hand has pushed the God of War franchise a bit too much (six releases, with a seventh coming in Ghost of Sparta in under five years), but hasn’t sacrificed quality for quantity as fans of the series and critics alike both rave ab..."

The company, which tracks and recognizes record-breaking achievements, notes that the series is the "Best-Selling First-Person Shooter (FPS) Franchise Ever", too."
"But Infinity Ward are shedding staff like nobody's business - and the MW franchise is 'damaged', according to rival EA. Who better to save the Modern Warfare series from oblivion than the most celebrated FPS developer in the world?
Bungie and Activision are bosom buddies - and it's not as if the publisher doesn't have the money and power to (a) Increase Bungie's headcount so it can work on two projects and (b) Change the Washington-based firm's mentality of concentrating solely on one IP."

We did a list of the top five sexiest female characters to appear in Playstation 3 exclusives last week and we have to show the same respect to the women of the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 made it pre..."
"The immediate reaction from gamers to the announcement of the Bungie deal with Activision appears to be one of bewilderment. Whether this is primarily due to the dust-up between Activision and Infinity Ward or Activision President Bobby Kotick's statements that the company is committed to constant sequels for franchises such as Call of Duty and Guitar Hero is unclear. It may just be a combination of all the negative news that has come out of Activision recently. So, let's take a look a lit..."

This week in All Age Gaming' The Week That Was we discuss worldwide Xbox 360 sales, new Halo Reach info including the different retail versions it will release in, our own Alan Wake hands-on and Remedy Q&A, Gran Turismo 5, Vidzone TV, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and more.
Collectibles have been around for some time now, but in the last few years, Publishers have seen the advantages of having special editions to push pre-orders,and get release day sales right up there.
Which is understandable, seeing most games have a small 2 week window in which to sell as many units as possible.
SLip over and check out the two new Halo Reach editions, some close up images, and details of not only the editions, but the possibility of a comp to win one of these beauties.
"Three new screenshots of Halo: Reach have come out and they look to confirm the return of the Mongoose four-wheel vehicle that made its debut in Halo 3. The screenshots also appear to confirm that Bungie enjoys the 'Race' playlist as much as the Halo 3 players do."
Check out the latest video documentary from Bungie that covers the upcoming Halo: Reach beta. They discuss making the game along with all the new stuff that we'll be playing.
"This morning, Microsoft gave us a tantalizing glimpse of the upcoming Limited and Legendary edition contents for Bungie's Halo: Reach. Those of you who followed Halo 3 will be pleased to know that MacFarlane Toys has designed the 10" (and 10lbs!) statue of Noble Team in the Legendary edition.
Microsoft has warned us that the Legendary edition will be manufactured in "very limited quantities.""
"Joystiq reported through a very interesting interview that even if Halo: Reach is the last game of the series, “it may consider” doing another one “down the line“. Bungie doesn’t want to say they totally give up on Halo."
Bungie told us a month ago that they consequently improved Halo: Reach's graphics in comparison to the previous episodes. You will find in the article more than 20 new beautiful screenshots of the upcoming and anticipated Halo: Reach.
"180 staffers are working hard on the upcoming Beta version of Halo: Reach which will be available on May 3rd, which is in 2 short weeks. The community director Brian Jarrard and the multiplayer design lead Chris Carney gave an interview to Seattle Times revealing more elements about Halo: Reach."
"We just got word from a top-secret friend of ours that works in retail that the biggest Xbox 360 release of 2010 will be coming in three unique editions, Halo Reach; once again Bungie and Microsoft will be releasing a standard, limited, and legendary version of the sci-fi first person shooter. No more details were available at this time..."
"Game Trailers published a new exclusive footage of Halo: Reach. Geoff Keighley from Game Trailers TV interviews Brian Jarrard, the Community Director at Bungie, brought us the latest details on the multiplayer beta and one of the first videos of the new maps and the Invasion mode of the Beta version. "It seems that someone get a Halo: Reach Pre-Beta code before everyone! And guess what? He decided to tell that to the whole world publishing screens and videos on GameTrailer’s forums (click here). We have then more details on the Beta but nothing absolutely impressively new!"
"We are a little less than a month from the launch of the Halo: Reach beta and some may have been wondering about the maps that would be available during the beta. Not to worry as Bungie sat down with the gents over at IGN to talk in depth about the maps. If you don't have time to sit through the five page piece, hang out here for a second for a quick summary."
"This just popped in from IGN – the source of all reliable gaming news on the net.
We’ve been wondering what the hell has been happening with this, was it dead, would it be made, could it be made, why would it be made, and now our worst fears have been realized, they ‘are’ making a movie about our beloved game franchise.
I certainly hope that they can do it justice . .
You’ll have to check it out though, I’m a bit iffy on it though, while it is early work, I suppose it does show some ..."
Bungie has just released a new ViDOC today talking about a brand new game mode coming to Halo: Reach... CHESS! Yes, that's right. Check the ViDOC out after the jump!

"Speaking with IndustryGamers, Halo Reach community manager Brian Jarrard shared his thoughts on a possible Halo movie and the how well Halo Reach will be received when it is released this September. In short, Jarrard thinks that Halo Reach might just have a chance to be a successful game."
With Halo Reach "only" 6-month away from getting released, Amazon announced a $20 gaming credit with purchase of Halo Reach for Xbox 360. While gaming credits are not new and have been used to entice consumers to pre-order for a while, usually they are limited to $10, or, if more, to the games that are not expected to sell well. It's interesting to see that big of a promotion that early in a game for the title that's already so highly anticipated. With slew of recent discounts and promotion o...
"Microsoft's driving mantra for 2010 seems to be quality over quantity. With only three major titles on tap for the Fall (and only two others in the Summer), the publisher looks to be putting all of its eggs in a Natal-shaped basket. But with Halo: Reach, Alan Wake and a Perfect Dark remake marked down on the calendar, no one can say that Microsoft's 2010 will be boring."
"Image Metrics has today announced the launch of Faceware, the company's unique facial animation technology platform. Bungie, developer of the blockbuster Halo franchise, plans to incorporate Image Metrics' Faceware facial animation software into its in-house production pipeline."
"As the blockbuster prequel to the best-selling Xbox franchise of all time, developed exclusively for Xbox 360 by acclaimed developer Bungie, Halo: Reach puts you front and center in the fateful moments that forged the Halo legend. As recently as last week’s Microsoft X10 conference, there have been a slew of new details coming out about Halo: Reach. While this is in no way a bad thing, it definitely makes the days between now and the release of the game this fall seem all the more longer. But..."
"Based on all the information coming out about Halo: Reach it seems that Bungie's basic philosophy has been, "The sequels to the first Halo sucked. Let's fix that." We've already seen a little bit of this with Halo: ODST, wherein Bungie returned to some of the core elements of Halo gameplay and ditched many of the changes introduced in Halo 2 and 3. Reach seems to continue this idea while trying to invigorate the franchise by introducing greatly improved graphics and additional gameplay mechan..."
"We conducted a poll here at Blend Games to see if gamers could tell the difference between late alpha (pre-beta) shots of Halo 3 and gold shots of Halo 3. It’s probably not surprising that the results prove that gamers honestly can’t tell the difference between the various stages of development for the game"
"Do you see how the focus seems to be about increasing the level of visual detail? If you think that you need exponentially larger quantities of polygons or more articulate body movement to really express a human story in your game then you're already going about things the wrong way and you're not going to achieve the desired result."
"HALO: REACH - some say will be the biggest game for 2010. There haven’t been too many details released besides some facts and screenshots in the February 2010 issue of GAMEINFORMER explaining there will be a six player squad (Noble Team) destined to live through the final battle of Planet Reach before everyone falls (Spoiler Alert). The player will complete the squad, named Noble Six."
"Naysayers may say that Microsoft has blown its load and 2009 was a glimpse into the future of the fall of popularity for the Redmond, Washington based company in the console space. Well, Microsoft isn’t going to go out without a fight and 2010 is shaping up to be a much better year for the console than 2009 was."
"Halo: Reach is easily one of the most anticipated releases of 2010, and possibly the most high-profile title hitting the Xbox 360 this year. To that end, Microsoft are ensuring it doesn’t arrive without a very big bang, and at their recent X10 event the publisher revealed that the previously revealed Halo: Reach beta testing phase will be available from May 3rd, 2010. That is of course, so long as you have purchased a copy of last year’s Halo 3: ODST with an included invite."
All Age Gaming's John Elliott covers Microsoft's X10 event and brings us all the important announcements and information from the events press conference in one big summary. Read on for all the info on the event.
The first Vidoc has appeared for the last Halo game that bungie will make. They will take you on just a glimpse of their journey towards what they call the definitive Halo game.
"During their X10 conference, Microsoft and Bungie showed off the official Halo: Reach box art to attendees. While staying true to the traditional Halo look and feel, the box art does seem to lack something. It's not that it's bland, it just doesn't pull you in with any specific detail. It certainly does capture that Halo feel, though. Fans will certainly like this box art. Compared to the previous logo, the box art looks better."
"Here, in no specific order, are 10 things you need to know coming out of X10 today:
• The Halo Reach multiplayer beta will kick off on May 3. You will be able to access the beta via the Halo 3: ODST game disc.
• Dead Rising 2 will release in North America on Aug. 31, Japan on Sept. 2 and Europe on Sept. 3.
• Dead Rising: CASE ZERO an exclusive download only on Xbox LIVE, will launch prior to the full game and provide a playable prologue that bridges the story between the two titles.
• Ala..."
Bungie has just announced a beta date for Halo: Reach from Microsoft's X10 event. The beta will kick off May 3rd. Along with the news they also released three new screenshots.
"Microsoft's very own Major Nelson just tweeted a couple hints at what games we can expect to see on the show floor of it's press-only event tomorrow night, known as X10 - the list has a couple surprises in it and is not all-inclusive. His tweets, along with our guesses of what each game in the list stand for is below; did we crack the correct code? We have been told that there are other titles, not on this hint-list, that will be announced at tomorrow's event."
Ever since Natal and Halo: Reach were announced this summer, there's been speculation that Reach would be one of the first games to support this technology. However, it's just not true.
All Age Gaming's Phong Nguyen bring's us the 27th AAG "The Week That Was". This week he discusses the continual sales boom for Nintendo's New Super Mario Bros. Wii game, Halo: Reach at Microsoft's X10 event, the once Xbox 360 exclusive GTA IV DLC coming to PS3 and PC and more.
"Microsoft Game Studios has today released six brand new official screenshots from the highly anticipated Halo: Reach. Set for release this coming September exclusively on Xbox 360, Halo: Reach is a prequel to the very first instalment in the series, Halo: Combat Evolved."
"Nothing is certain in today’s game industry. But the closest you’ll come to a sure thing is that movies based on video games suck. There are exceptions, sure. But most of the time, gamers end up regretting their ticket purchase after watching their favorite game get some off the wall adaption on the silver screen that fails to encompass any of the elements that made the game so good. So to save the movie industry some time, we’ve compiled a list of the top 5 games that need to get big screen ..."
"As of this writing, we’re already three weeks into 2010. The “new” year is already practically ancient, and pretty soon we’ll have run out of time to make wild, erratic, entirely factual predictions about things that will happen over the next 11 months. So with January nearly over, we’re going for the jugular and answering the question that’s on everyone’s mind: between the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and PC, which gaming platform will claim victory by the end of this year.
Experts antici..."
New screenshots showing Halo: Reach show the game to be graphically superior to it's 360 counterparts Halo 3 and Halo: ODST. Also the game will include unlockable perks in the form of switchable armour which will give the wearer temporary abilities. Not being much of a Halo fan, even I am looking forward to this games release now.
As per to the rumours, the game will revolve around a squad based system, were you will always be fighting in a group of spartans.
"Mythic 2 Map Pack will be available on Xbox LIVE for 800 Microsoft Points. Mythic Map Pack 1 and 2 are also included in Halo 3: ODST, which includes the complete Halo 3 multiplayer map collection, an all-new campaign and the incredibly popular cooperative experience, Firefight. Halo 3: ODST will act as a key to the upcoming Halo: Reach multiplayer beta which goes live later this Spring."
"A few hours ago a very interesting e-mail popped into the PlanetXbox360 news inbox; it's from Microsoft's PR company and it's touting the amazing lineup for 2010, available on the Xbox 360 video game system. Scroll down to see which games the console maker has decided are worth bragging about, and what remains unannounced going into E3 2010 this June. It looks to be one heck of a year to be a hardcore video gamer, agree or disagree? Will the line-up be better on the Xbox 360 or the Playstatio..."
After a somewhat quite year in 2009 regarding exclusive games, the Xbox 360 is hoping to bounce back this year with a slew of already announced 360-only titles.
Ubisoft guest stars on the hiphopgamershow today (Prince Of Persia Interview). Also Bayonetta shines with a 9.5 out of 10 this game is great check out the review along with more news about 3d and Microsofts Game Room.
"As the Xbox 360 gets further along into its lifespan as a gaming console, many in the gaming industry and community at large begin to question when exactly a replacement will be on the horizon. However, in the years since it was released, Microsoft has notably proven that the console is capable of evolving, being adapted to the needs and wants of gamers as well as developers. For instance, Project Natal will allow the Xbox 360 to compete in the realm of motion controlled titles. This, on top ..."
All Age Gaming's John Elliott found an interesting bit of news that may signal that Bungie are set to break out from their regular Halo games and take on the task of creating an MMO game due to a recent job advertisement supposedly placed by the renowned developers. Find out more after the jump.
"OXCGN presents to you the recording of both Robbie Bach, President of Microsoft and Steve Balmer CEO of Microsoft at their presentation just moments ago at the 2010 CES International in Las Vegas. This will be available complete via Xbox On Demand soon, but here it is early for you from OXCGN.
We’ve split this into two segments for you, and will only be running Robbie Bach’s Xbox presentation, which is Xbox related, otherwise you’ve be in for an additional 1 hour of more Microsoft discussi..."
"The release of Project Natal prior to the year’s end was once again confirmed, along with the fact that it will work with all existing Xbox 360 consoles. Further discussing new ideas, an interesting proposition was mentioned in the fact that Microsoft is considering allowing gamers to purchase a game on Xbox 360, and play it on their PC. Would this fantastic suggestion ever come to light in the retail space, however, Electronic Theatre would be very surprised indeed."
"Details on the game have since been slowly revealed, with a fantastic trailer showcasing the introduction to the Battle of Reach – a sequence of events hinted at in previous games and discussed in the Halo novel series, but never previously made available for players to experience first-hand – and the fact that Halo: Reach will act as a prequel to the events of the original Halo: Combat Evolved is now common knowledge. However, today’s revelation comes in the form of an official release date."

It's not what a lot of Halo fanboys would want to read but a new top 5 has surfaced for Halo: Reach involving a few of ways it could potentially go wrong.
"For those of you who were able to see what little footage was shown at Spike’s VGA show this past Saturday, you would have noticed the new in-game engine trailer from Halo: Reach, which is slated for release Fall 2010 essentially keeping all of us Halo fanboys in tight-knit stitches until at least the beta is available Spring next year. In the meantime, the trailer will have to do and while it isn’t perfect by any stretch of the imagination, there are some definite indications that what we’re..."
"Due to arrive later this year, Halo: Reach is a prequel to the very first titles in the series, Halo: Combat Evolved. The game follows the actions of Noble Team, a United Nations Space Command special operations unit composed of six Spartan super-soldiers. "It’s not unusual for images or video to leak of a game in beta but when it does happen it doesn’t happen like this. A user on the MLG forums (that’s Major League Gaming for those not in the know) has posted several images from Halo Reach which shows off a few of the new weapons and more importantly the environments fans can expect to see from the latest installment of the Halo franchise."
Although Halo 3: ODST has just been released, we all know Halo: Reach is coming. The question is what will Bungie do to make Halo: Reach better or different to the other Halo games they have produced? Well, we have come up with 5 things we would like Bungie to consider/implement for Halo: Reach. Read on to see if you agree.
"Bungie is trying to make entry into Halo: Reach's beta as easy as possible -- at least if you pick up Halo 3 ODST next month. Bungie explained to Joystiq at GamesCom ODST's main menu will host an "extras" tab, which will contain access to the Reach beta once it activates sometime next year.
Bungie considers the beta to be "a big part of the value of the disc." And as much as the studio hopes that the beta launch will "work like buttah," we're already preparing to shut down our tips box on ..."
Here's one helluva rumor for you guys. Apparently, Steven Spielberg is interested in a recent Halo script he saw. The script was inspired by the novel Halo: The Fall of Reach, and written by G.I. Joe co-writer Stuart Beattie.
Now their reps at CAA are negotiating for a possible joint project, which Spielberg is hoping to produce.
"In the end it all goes back to Beattie's quote. With four bestselling games (and two more on the way), several comic book series, a whole library of novels, toys from a variety of companies (including a few exclusive designs that were only available at Comic-Con), continued efforts to create a movie and now a compilation of anime episodes, Halo has become one of the biggest cross-media franchises in the world. While Star Wars is still a bit of a stretch, the adventures of Master Chief and the..."
"When asked by Eurogamer whether one of its unannounced titles is indeed Halo 4, Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford replied “we're not going to talk about anything”, after which a PR representative reportedly terminated the interview, stating simply “we can’t talk about that”.
In total Pitchford refused to answer the question four times.
Bungie recently admitted that once the upcoming Halo: ODST and next year’s Halo: Reach are out of the way, it is likely to step away from the cult shooting ..."
Does this statement sound familiar? It should, considering this is also what Bungie said about Halo 3: ODST. However, this time Bungie claims to actually be done with the series as they have already started working on a new IP. But, if you're a fan of the Halo franchise, don't despair. The production of future Halo titles will be overseen by 343 Industries.
"We all know how big a nerd Marc Ecko is; he says it himself all the time. In fact he loves video games so much he helped produce his own game called Marc Ecko’s Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure. It was released three years ago and received decent reviews. His love for video games doesn’t stop there; today Ecko has released a Limited Edition line of Halo T-shirts."
This particular news item showcases a demo reel of an animator who has been contracted to work on Halo reach. This reel presumably contains short animation procedures for the game.
Halo 3: ODST is coming and it's going to be big, but now it's going to be bigger. Why? Because ODST is going to be released with the Halo Reach beta so now fans can get a little taste of what a true next-gen Halo will look, feel, and play like.
Bungie creative director, Joseph Staten, sat down to talk with the Seattle Times in a recent interview and offered some news about the upcoming Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach. He said how that ODST will be more dramatic than previous games and will have a mystery aspect to it as you piece together what happened to the rest of the ODSTs. However, the notable thing he mentions is that the city in ODST will be like "an 'open world' model popularized by the 'Grand Theft Auto' games." Players can ch...
"We all know that Joystiq kept pressing Bungie until they finally decided to submit and confess that Halo Reach will be an FPS title, but this article is not about that. In fact, there is a huge possibility that Bungie’s confession was merely the tip of the iceberg. From what I have discovered so far, this game could be far more than just another FPS. If you would like to know the possible new direction that the Halo franchise might be taking with Halo Reach, then keep reading."
"E3 has come and gone, but has left a plethora of gaming announcements in its wake. Arguably, Microsoft boasted the most exciting and surprising conference out of the three, with mentions of big name titles such as Forza, Left for Dead and Alan Wake, as well as system updates and even a whole new motion capture idea dubbed Project Natal, that's under development. In case you missed the happenings of E3, I'll do a quick run through of Microsoft's conference, and give you a run down of Project N..."
