"Perhaps the most enjoyable and greatest anticipated aspect of any Harry Potter game is Quidditch and it is in this wizard game that the game redeems itself a little. Players get to play as chaser until the snitch is spotted and winning a match may take several attempts. Unlike the rest of the game Quidditch offers the opportunity for the player to feel a sense of achievement when they win their first match in an otherwise emotively flat experience. This aspect of the game alone is perhaps its..."
"Can you imagine a Harry Potter game that meets the free-roaming gameplay popularized by Grand Theft Auto? The concept sounds intriguing, especially if you cram the mix into one wee cartridge. Interestingly, that’s exactly what the Nintendo DS version of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince did, but the results aren’t up to snuff."
"Although it would be a great new addition to the Harry Potter series, EA still have not created an online feature to Harry Potter. EA could quiet possibly have online games for duelling, Quidditch and even a versus mode for the make a potion mini-game."
"A brand new PlayStation Portable (PSP) hardware bundle has arrived on European shop shelves this week, seemingly unawares to most. Following the recent release of a Monster Hunter Freedom Unite PSP hardware bundle, Electronic Arts’ Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the latest title to get the repackaging treatment."
"They have a fantastic night planned for all Xbox 360 fans and Casual Gamers alike, to play some of the best games on the Xbox 360 console. Some of the games include… Guitar Hero World Tour, Halo 3, Street Fighter IV, Virtua Tennis 2009, Pro Evolution Soccer, Sacred 2, Harry Potter and a lot more.

"Electronic Arts have today released the launch trailer for the forthcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince videogame adaptation, due for release across Europe this Friday. Players will once again step into the shoes of Harry Potter, as he embarks upon his sixth year, getting off to an unusual start."
TRINE is our most notable release for this week, coming out on PC at some digital outlets July 3, others, including the PlayStation Network, around July 10 (360 owners will have to wait awhile longer). Those wanting to get it at retail can wait a few more weeks. Again, a demo is available, and we can't recommend trying it enough.
Others worth mentioning include FUEL, BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, and perhaps the Megaman Starforce 3 titles.
"For the first time in a Harry Potter videogame, it’s possible to read the emotion in characters’ faces as they talk, thanks to the advanced facial animation system that was used during development. Many of the film’s actors provided their voices for the game, and the development team at EA had access to photos and body scans of all the characters, so every raised eyebrow and fluttering cloak is accurately portrayed in the game."
In speaking with Gamasutra earlier this week, Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello discussed the company's increased focus on the Wii and working towards the company's turnaround from the financial troubles EA saw last holiday season in an overcrowded HD console market.
In an announcement made by Peter Moore at their E3 press conference last week, EA Sports Active had sold 600,000 units worldwide in its first two weeks. According to Riccitiello, "The number one platform is expanding the m...
"In "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince", Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was."
"In the game of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, players will return to Hogwarts to help Harry survive a fraught sixth year. They will also have a chance to engage in exciting wizard duels, mix and brew magical ingredients in Potions class and take to the air to lead the Gryffindor Quidditch team to victory. Players may even get sidetracked by Ron’s romantic entanglements as they journey towards a dramatic climax and discover the identity of the Half-Blood Prince."
In a press release today, Nintendo has announced release dates for a number of first-party and third-party games headed for the Wii and DS in the second quarter of 2009 (although technically April to June, this includes March as well).
Nintendo itself noted these games as upcoming to the Wii, WiiWare, and Nintendo DS:
Wii:
Excitebots: Trick Racing - April 20
New Play Control! Donkey Kong Jungle Beat - May 4
Punch-Out!! - May 18
WiiWare:
BIT.TRIP BEAT (Gaijin Games/Aksys Games)

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the sixth video game of the popular series. Last time the screens were for the Wii, but this time they're for the DS!
The screens show setting, main characters, and minigames.
Ahh yes, the sixth Harry Potter game that has been delayed until the Summer of 2009: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. GamePro recently was able check the game out, giving us the fixes that the game has went through since the last time Harry was exploring the world on consoles.
Quidditch, the primary sport of the Harry Potter world, is now back and better than ever! The whole concept has been completely redesigned, which is supposed to negate the weird controls in the previous games....
What could be better than the new Harry Potter game coming out? Being able to really feel like you're there of course!
Rumours state that the new game may use the MotionPlus feature. Essentially, what this means for the player is the ability to have a lot more fun when casting their spells... as long as the Wii Remote doesn't fly through the screen.
After EA Games delayed Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince until summer 2009, so that it would release at the same time as the movie, they had a major loss. Roughly $120 million, from what the game would have made them. Which probably means that they will make a massive amount of money next year.
Everyone knows that Harry Potter is one of the biggest novel/movie/game series out there.
The newest game is Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and it's said to have a release time of summer next year.
The storyline is similar as always with the concept of doing stuff around Hogwarts, Quiditch etc but it does look to be a great game!
"The Harry Potter And the Half-Blood Prince game has been delayed to "summer 2009", EA has said.
This brings the game in line with the book and film, which were both planned for release this year but were last month also pushed back to summer '09.
EA promises it'll be worth the wait, though.
"We are creating an immersive game experience that Potter fans around the world will really enjoy playing as they fly and duel their way through the story of the film. The game will feature new W..."
Gametrailers has revealed the debut trailer for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
Let's hope it's better than previous games in the series...
