"PushStartSelect: "I find stories with a female lead fascinating most of the time because it’s a good twist on your stereotypical story revolving around a guy character. A lot of key dynamics change, and emotions are brought about for various reasons. This isn’t to say they are weaker or anything like that, but different and its cool. So here are five female lead games that I think should see a return in some shape or form soon!""

Although Title Fight isn't even confirmed, Sony's answer to the Smash Bros. franchise is enticing just to think about. Along with the rumored characters (Drake, Kratos, Sly Cooper, etc.), we have come up with a selection of nine first-party Sony icons that should make an appearance in the game. Will the game play just like Smash Bros.? Probably not, but if it did, here are the characters we would want to smash in Title Fight:

"To put it lightly, the early days of the Playstation 3 were bleak. An extremely high price combined with a thin game library kept hardware adoption rates low and software adoption rates even lower. In these dark days the PS3 still managed to produce a few glimmers of hope."

"Last week’s Electronic Theatre Sunday Special was the run down of Top Ten Videogame Heroes; featuring the protagonist you loved like Sam Fisher, Sonic the Hedgehog and Link. So to prove that the games industry isn’t just a man’s game, this week we focus on the Top Ten Videogame Heroines. Ten of the females that got you hot under the collar, and not in the Dead or Alive Paradise way, but stayed on track with the heroic mission which faced them have been chosen for this week’s feature article."

Award-winning writer Rhianna Pratchett recently discussed creating game stories; How difficult it is writing for video games, how much of her writing was cut from Mirror's Edge's final product, why her female characters are a far cry from the female game character archetype, what advice she could give to aspiring game writers, and why she suspects the majority of game writing is so poor.

Because trophy support didn’t became mandatory until the start of 2009, plenty of great Playstation 3 exclusive games missed out on the opportunity. Here are the top five early PS3-only titles that need a trophy patch.

""With Bayonetta strutting into stores this week, it's time to take a look at the toughest female characters gaming has provided gaming with over the years. We're talking ladies of steel; the kind that don't need to be suffering with hormonal pains to rip your head off. Gone is the insistent need to shop and the power to chat your body into a vacant boredom – these girls have far more pressing matters to get on with. By 'pressing,' we mean they are out saving the world or imprinting their high..."

"Some people blame the economy for a game’s poor sales but with the gaming industry gaining ground even in the face of the sunken economy there has to be other reasons for it. Some people blame market saturation saying there are too many desirable games to compete for the available time and cash gamers are willing to surrender. Still others think that a game’s sales have everything to do with competing titles released on or around the same date. Whatever the reason, it’s clear that some gam..."

"Remember the first time you played God of War (you did play it, right?) and, with the evil hydra finally at your mercy and an on-screen prompt, you pressed some buttons and totally kicked that sea creature's ass?

Yeah, it was pretty great when God of War did that and you hadn't played a Quick Time Event (QTE) since Shenmue. When David Jaffe's violent love-child re-popularized QTEs, at least the game did them right. See, a Quick Time Event's purpose is to allow for a moment of more cinemat..."

"The Resumeplay staff was hit with a hard question this week to narrow down their all time favorite female character that you get control over at some point in a video game. Looks doesn’t have nothing to do with it (well, to a couple writers it does) its the attachment that the individual has to the character is what matters. Check after the break for the list of our favorite gaming girls."

"Killzone 2 is coming out next week, so we are pretty sure you PlayStation 3 owners will be quite busy. But if you are looking for that gem of a game, that you may have missed, we are going to list the Top 5 PS3 games that didn’t get the attention they deserved. Whether it be because you didn’t own a PS3 yet, or because you just didn’t pick up the title, doesn’t mean you should miss out on these games. Here is our top 5…"

have you forgotten about the game Heavenly Sword? Well you probably remember the heroin, Nariko. Sleek, long, red, haired acrobatic warrior that left a mark in female heroes. Check out these pictures of the game Heavenly Sword before it got its makeover.

OMG RPG of gamepro.com has compiled a list of the top ten swords from video games!

So what came first? The Master Sword from the Legend of Zelda series and is it any surprise when fans do stuff like this? The Buster Sword from Final Fantasy VII came in second with Frostmourne of the Warcraft series in third.

Read on to discover the awesomeness of each!

"Hot shot detectives, warrior princesses, and damsels in distress: video games have featured all kinds of attractive women over the years. To celebrate the beauties that the games industry has created, we've compiled a list of the top 50 digital hotties to ever grace our television sets. These girls represent both the curvy and the understated. The wise and the ditsy. These ladies are born from imagination and built from pixels and 3D renderings to tease our eyes and imaginations. So what are ..."

Oh my dear lord. MSNBC has managed to make the ultimate laughable list by the games they have picked as having the most cinematic video games. Actually, most of the list isn't too bad, but when you get to number one, prepare to have milk spill out of your nose (and I hope you were drinking milk, otherwise see a doctor immediately!) I don't want to ruin the surprise, so just look at the list.

Sony Australia have announced that the 'Platinum' selection will be arriving on Monday for the Australian market and will come at the down under price of $49.95. So Games Radar has decided to fool around with Photoshop and see what some games will look like with the addition of bikes like Gears of War 2, Heavenly Sword, Zelda and LocoRoco. So check out these sweet images and go to the source for a few more.

"What is art? It’s a fairly straightforward question, yet it encompasses a limitless amount of correct answers. Art is defined by Webster’s Dictionary as the conscious use of skill and creative imagination, especially in the production of aesthetic objects. What happens then, when the physical aspect is removed?

The other day, I asked my friend’s father, one of the most level-headed people I know, if he considered film to be a form of art. I was hit with a rapid response confirming that ye..."

With the new edition of High Definition consoles now in stores and selling rapidly like wild fire, the world of video gaming in of itself, is quickly changing. Not long ago you loomed around lazily playing games with a quality so cringing, you literally wanted to rip your eyes out right then and there. But with the new release of all these astounding consoles such as The Xbox 360 and Sony Playstation 3, the world of gaming has been brightened up and much, much more energizing.

But now, we ...

Thats right a real life heavenly sword was made, by no other then your truly. I made it in wood shop in school. Sadly enough our school doesn't have have metal shop so I had to make it out of wood.

Instead of making some stupid cabinet or a DVD shelf like the rest of the class, I decided to make something a little more original. I decided upon making the sword with a lot of people saying I won't be able to make it(proved them wrong ;)).

The sword is about 3 feet long and about 1 and a h...

IGN takes the concept of Super Smash Brothers and makes a list of the top characters for a PlayStation version of a multi franchise cross-over. While this is supposed to be a bit of a parody, the "Sony Skills" actually sound like they would work if a game like this was ever made. If they went the extra mile to get specific with each character's moves, it would make a perfectly legitimate rip off.

It seems that Heavenly Sword has Rumble support. But the size for this patch is 18mb, kinda big for a patch, anyway if you have a rumble controller try out this game with rumble. And there is more things within this patch that has yet to surface.

See if you can find anything within the game.

When talking to Naughty Dog's co-president Evan Wells, he talked about how Uncharted has been designed to become a first title in a franchise so more title will be in the works soon. He also talk about the Jak & Daxter franchise and mentioned that the possibility's of a sequel would be looked upon sometime in the future. As for Heavenly Sword though it has been reported by Eurogamer that when talking to a a Ninja Theory spokesperson he repeatedly referred to Heavenly Sword as "Heavenly Sword ...

Contrasting with Famitsu's numbers, Media Create has the PS3 tracking barely above the Wii. Still notable, but the overall drop is pretty shocking. We can start entertaining various possibilities over what will happen in the next few weeks to these two streams.

The top software seller this week for a second time is Mario Party DS, selling 116k units. The second-seller this week is the newcomer Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles for the Wii, selling 83k units. Rounding out the top five ...

The September NPD numbers were released today, and many thanks to sonycowboy at NeoGAF and the NPD for reporting and the actual numbers.

The September NPD tracking period is a five-week period: September 2 - October 6. With the software sales, I will also put the release date of each title, so you have a frame of reference.

A member at the Ps3forums has discovered some god of war armor and swords in Heavenly Sword. He found it in one of Kai's missions located in a armory. The armor is what Kratos wore in God of War 2. And the swords look like they are blades of Athena.

The run up to the fevered Christmas period is well under way. A summer of nothing has led to BioShock, Metroid Prime 3, Warhawk, and now Heavenly Sword. From a barren landscape to a thriving forest of gaming goodness. So many games, so little time, and nowhere near enough pocket money!

Check out GamerSquad's Heavenly Sword review round-up for all the scores that matter!

Given that the Playstation 3 currently doesn't have as many games available as the other consoles, it still does hold a fair bit of games. But are people making the most of the Playstation 3's capabilities? Well it seems that out of the many games that have been released only around 16 games so far are using the Playstation 3's SPE.

Whilst there may be more, the 16 games that are listed below have pretty much been confirmed to be using the PS3's SPE:

  1. Resistance: Fall of Man
  2. Ratchet and Clan...

That's right, a new Heavenly Sword video from GameSpot shows 1000 enemies actually on screen. Go to the source to check it out. The game is set to hit stores on Septemeber 12th for North America, Europe and Austrailia a few days later.

"When you think of Heavenly Sword, you probably think of beauty. From the outset Sony has ridden a tidal wave of goggle-eyed awe every time it's wheeled out its third-person action adventure to the gaping masses. For a long, long time, Heavenly Sword's been a poster child for the next generation of PlayStation gaming, with a virtually unparalleled aesthetic and attention to detail. It's only recently we've had chance to dig below that surface though and witness the game beneath that high-gloss..."

The European PSN Store has been updated with a number of new additions. The exclusive Folklore playable demo is now available to download, but for a limited time only. The update also includes a number of trailers from the Games Convention in Leipzig.

"A developer from Ninja theory responds to the recent news about the developers using over 10GB of space for only Heavenly Sword audio.

The developers came very close to using a dual layer blu-ray disc because even with the size of the single layer blu-ray disc, they were having problems fitting all all of the game’s audio data onto a single layer blu- ray disc. According to the developer :

“We use a mixture of compressed and uncompressed, but lots were compressed for the reasons people ..."

The "Semi-Official" people at the Three's Speech blog have managed to get their hands on a review copy of one of Sony's most awaited games - Heavenly Sword.

With most people thinking Heavenly Sword is simply an "arena fighting" game, will be pleasantly surprised to learn that the game isn't just that, but more. With an indepth storyline and brilliant voice acting from some named stars. With some details on the story, and quite a bit of information regarding the battle system, the review r...

Heavenly Sword is scheduled for a release in September. In the mean time though, we get six episodes of Anime (one released each Thursday) to keep us excited for the game until then. The first episode was released today. It shows bloodlust, beautiful artwork, and some background storyline on the Heavenly Sword itself. It's a good watch with creepy music and the perfect voice for a narrator.

"New Details
The latest edition of Playstation Magazine have an article on Heavenly Sword in which they give out more details to how the gameplay features are going to be like, the total number of missions and acts, and general gameplay details.

There will also a total of about six videos released on PSN, kinda like an Anime, which will tell the story of this Heavenly Sword story. No date was give as to when exactly but it might be anything from now on next weeks PS store update.

After slamming PS3 exclusive Heavenly Sword, Team Ninja boss Itakagi Tomonubu would be wise to rein in his criticisms following this piece of shallow marketing for Dead or Alive Xtreme 2. What a boob. Well, actually, there are around 8 of them actually. Shameless. Seriously, criticising Heavenly Sword when you're responsible for Dead or Alive Extreme 2 - what's the world coming to?

Itagaki Tomonobu, the lead graphics programmer at Tecmo has reviewed Heavenly Sword as "half-assed". Itagaki says, “I look at Heavenly Sword and it seems really half-assed, because it’s asking you to do all these button-timing sequences but you are not getting much payoff from it.” Heavenly Sword producer Kyle Shubel responds to the harsh comment saying, that if they make the game too hard, it will frustrate gamers.

The delay that has made many fans upset and angry, has also been a saviour for some game developers that no longer have GTAIV to compete with for christmas. Which will obviously mean that they will have more reason to release it before then, and will most likely be getting more notice from you than if GTAIV had released.

The games ofcourse are:

    1. Bioshock
    2. Army of Two
    3. Lair
    4. Haze
    5. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
    6. Assassin's Creed
    7. Heavenly Sword

At the EB Games website, it shows that Lair is going to be delayed until September 4th, pushing back from the original August 12th. Gamefly shows more evidence, changing their release date to September 6th. I wonder what could be causing the delay. It's only less than a month, so maybe it's just a little issue that needs fixing. Loot Ninja expects it to get blown away or "overshadowed" if it's true because it's releasing on the same day as Heavely Sword.

"By now, most of you PS3 owners out there have probably downloaded the disappointingly short Heavenly Sword demo, plowed through it in fewer than five minutes and wondered what all the fuss was about. That was our first reaction, too, when we played the same demo during E3 - until we sat down with the game's producer, Kyle Shubel, and he told us what we were doing wrong.

While you might never guess it from a quick play-through, the Heavenly Sword demo can be a sublime, endlessly replayable ..."

"I’m taking a guess that, if you’re reading this blog, chances are you’ve seen the episode of Heroes in which Niki Sanders (aka Jessica) and her son Micah start the show playing Heavenly Sword. Am I right?

Well now you can do what they were doing - or at least you can from Thursday July 26, anyway! That’s right: the demo of Heavenly Sword came flying out of Format Testing and is hitting Playstation Network tomorrow - but then you all already knew that, didn’t you?

But, if the internet is..."

"Sony have today confirmed that a Heavenly Sword demo will hit the Playstation Network this Thursday. Heavenly Sword is the first truly epic game to be released for the Playstation 3 and is scheduled to hit the stores very soon.

Heavenly Sword received a good reception at E3 and is therefore being billed as a game every Playstation owner must have, whether this turns out to be true we will have to see, however the demo should give us a good taste of what to expect."

"Get ready to make a date with blade-wielding, red-headed warrior Nariko this week as Ninja Theory's long-awaited Heavenly Sword demo is set to arrive for download via PlayStation Network on Thursday, July 26.

According to Sony, the demo is the same as that shown during Sony's Gamer Day earlier this year. So, expect to guide Nariko across some dangerously high ropes in a QTE-style manner before diving into a series of vicious scraps atop a crumbling precipice and elsewhere. The demo should ..."

As previously reported a Heavenly Swords Demo was in the works, and it seems that there has been comfirmation to this to the extent that Mike Ball, the head developer has stated that the Demo is now complete.

People at home really want to get hands on too. Well, let me just tell you all that the dev team has finished work on the demo.. that’s it… it’s in the bag… so now it’s a case of Sony deciding when they feel is the best time to release it to PlayStation Network.
