Sony Australia have announced that the 'Platinum' selection will be arriving on Monday for the Australian market and will come at the down under price of $49.95. The titles that have been selected for this include Motorstorm, Resistance: Fall of Man, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Heavenly Sword and Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction.

IGN takes the concept of Super Smash Brothers and makes a list of the top characters for a PlayStation version of a multi franchise cross-over. While this is supposed to be a bit of a parody, the "Sony Skills" actually sound like they would work if a game like this was ever made. If they went the extra mile to get specific with each character's moves, it would make a perfectly legitimate rip off.
It seems that Heavenly Sword has Rumble support. But the size for this patch is 18mb, kinda big for a patch, anyway if you have a rumble controller try out this game with rumble. And there is more things within this patch that has yet to surface.

When talking to Naughty Dog's co-president Evan Wells, he talked about how Uncharted has been designed to become a first title in a franchise so more title will be in the works soon. The run up to the fevered Christmas period is well under way. A summer of nothing has led to BioShock, Metroid Prime 3, Warhawk, and now Heavenly Sword. From a barren landscape to a thriving forest of gaming goodness. So many games, so little time, and nowhere near enough pocket money!

Given that the Playstation 3 currently doesn't have as many games available as the other consoles, it still does hold a fair bit of games. But are people making the most of the Playstation 3's capabilities? Well it seems that out of the many games that have been released only around 16 games so far are using the Playstation 3's SPE.

The European PSN Store has been updated with a number of new additions. The exclusive Folklore playable demo is now available to download, but for a limited time only. The update also includes a number of trailers from the Games Convention in Leipzig.

The developers came very close to using a dual layer blu-ray disc because even with the size of the single layer blu-ray disc, they were having problems fitting all all of the games audio data onto a single layer blu- ray disc. According to the developer :

Due to the recent success of the PlayStation 3 Starter Pack in Europe, Sony is planning to release another starter pack. The current starter pack comes with the PS3, 2 SIXAXIS controllers, Resistance: FoM and Motorstorm. The new starter pack will contain the PS3, 2 SIXAXIS controllers and two new games.

Heavenly Sword is scheduled for a release in September. In the mean time though, we get six episodes of Anime (one released each Thursday) to keep us excited for the game until then. The first episode was released today. It shows bloodlust, beautiful artwork, and some background storyline on the Heavenly Sword itself. It's a good watch with creepy music and the perfect voice for a narrator.

The latest edition of Playstation Magazine have an article on Heavenly Sword in which they give out more details to how the gameplay features are going to be like, the total number of missions and acts, and general gameplay details.
There will also a total of about six videos released on PSN, kinda like an Anime, which will tell the story of this Heavenly Sword story. No date was give as to when exactly but it might be anything from now on next weeks PS store update.

After slamming PS3 exclusive Heavenly Sword, Team Ninja boss Itakagi Tomonubu would be wise to rein in his criticisms following this piece of shallow marketing for Dead or Alive Xtreme 2. What a boob. Well, actually, there are around 8 of them actually. Shameless. Seriously, criticising Heavenly Sword when you're responsible for Dead or Alive Extreme 2 - what's the world coming to?
Itagaki Tomonobu, the lead graphics programmer at Tecmo has reviewed Heavenly Sword as "half-assed". Itagaki says, I look at Heavenly Sword and it seems really half-assed, because its asking you to do all these button-timing sequences but you are not getting much payoff from it. Heavenly Sword producer Kyle Shubel responds to the harsh comment saying, that if they make the game too hard, it will frustrate gamers.
The delay that has made many fans upset and angry, has also been a saviour for some game developers that no longer have GTAIV to compete with for christmas. Which will obviously mean that they will have more reason to release it before then, and will most likely be getting more notice from you than if GTAIV had released.

At the EB Games website, it shows that Lair is going to be delayed until September 4th, pushing back from the original August 12th. Gamefly shows more evidence, changing their release date to September 6th. I wonder what could be causing the delay. It's only less than a month, so maybe it's just a little issue that needs fixing. Loot Ninja expects it to get blown away or "overshadowed" if it's true because it's releasing on the same day as Heavely Sword.
