"Ask yourself, if you will; what is a game?

I suppose you could see the question from any number of angles, any number of interpretations. You could view it mechanically – a typical game involves an actor, maybe several, multiple mechanics, parameters. You could take each individual aspect of a game and put a magnifying glass to it. Or you could take it at its most literal definition; something to be played."

Bad voice acting can sometimes ruin the experience, but these ten games overcome awful voice acting by somehow managing to still be good despite the terrible voice performances.

The busiest week for gaming is about to take place, starting with tomorrow (Nov 13th). Are you prepared? Do you know what's actually coming out? And why'd everyone pick Nov 15th?

Looks like Amazon has cut the price of Heavy Rain. Could this be due to the Director's Cut? This could be the chance to pick up one of the PS3's most unique games. Goozernation has the details.

The head developer of Quantic Dream and mastermind behind Fahrenheit and Heavy Rain thinks that American gamers are being treated like "a bunch of crazy firearms wielding rednecks" and sharply disagrees.

"You're excited for id Software's upcoming game, Rage, right? You should consider seeing a lot more of it in the future then, as the developer's creative director Tim Willits said in an interview with GamesIndustry.biz"

Developers of the popular PS3 title, Heavy Rain, have recently announced that they like working for Sony, and that their next title will be a PS3 exclusive as well.

Just get a ps3? Well there are a ton of exclusives that are must haves. Goozernation tackles the list and looks at the must haves such as the Uncharted series, Resistance, God of War, Heavy Rain, and many others

Daav from NoobFeed.com rounds up another batch of game ideas after a 'very productive period of film watching'. At least there's a justification for eating chips and sitting on your ass. Five more films get transitioned and compared with games like Zelda, L.A. Noire, Brink, Assassin's Creed and even Leisure Suit Larry.

"In the past, storytelling in video games was a minor thing, high scores were the target. This changed with the roleplaying game and with the invention of bigger hard drives to hold more game information. Now the role of storytelling is going through another renaissance, the actions of the character have dynamic consequences on the story and on future games in some cases."

"Heavy Rain solves this dilemma by using button prompts (aka quick-time events, but don't let Cage find you saying that), creating highly dramatic, dynamic moments while still allowing for exploration (and more traditional point-and-click gameplay) in quieter moments. While Cage's system isn't flawless, the use of button prompts allows you to more seamlessly transfer the "point-and-click" experience to consoles (which often suffer due to the controller versus mouse setup), as well as creating ..."

Will human beings ever be able to take a galnce at a CG character and completely accept it as "real." Maybe one day, but as of right now, we explain why that won't happen anytime soon...

"Time and time again we look into how video games are not adapting well to film. We dive down into the cracks and explain how we would fix it. We talk about games that would make fantastic movies, (and directors that should stay away from them). However there is one key aspect people seem to be missing. Video games are starting to become better story tellers than many Hollywood movies, and at the end of that road maybe a video game will be the front runner to a film."

"Lately though, I find myself becoming more disenchanted with my gaming. The grandiose adventures are now fewer and farther between, replaced by assembly line repetition in gameplay, and stories so simple a 2 year old could grasp their intricacies. Is it the games that have changed, or is it me? After a bit of self-analysis I’m comfortable saying that it’s actually a bit of both. As my generation grew older, our tastes matured as well. Unfortunately for us, video games as an interactive entert..."

In this era, video game companies are starting to realize that the need to remain exclusive to a particular system is no longer feasible. Today, Quantic Dream expressed their desire to develop for only the PlayStation 3. Check out the full story. Cheers!

"Vanquish was pretty much non-stop action, with breaks only emerging so that a character could throw some gruff cheesy banter about and remind the player how much of a testosterone fuelled alpha male they were. It is the 80’s action movie of video games, realising that script and story don’t really matter as long as the audience comes out saying “My god that crap was awesome”. Vanquish embraced this attitude with aplomb, allowing the player to shoot and destroy all manners of highly powered ro..."

"The allmighty Playstation 3 for 2009 brought us some pretty awsome titles like Modern Warfare 2 and the exclusive releases of Killzone 2, Uncharted 2 and Infamous to name a few. For 2010 there has been a lot going on in gaming cross platforms but for the PS3 it defitnetly has been drool worthy when deciding which game to spend that burning money on each visit to your favourite game store. There may be even more great suprises Sony and its developers have up their sleeves before the year ends ..."

"Our staff has debated back and forth about the greatest games of the year. We've each offered up our own favorites for consideration -- games that stuck with us, games that blew us away, games that defined the year as a whole. But we could only choose fifteen. We have the final selection for you here."

You might not, but here at PtC we’re want to help you fake it. You may be sitting there asking yourself “What do I get that gamer in my life who has a PS3?” Well ask no more."

"Before we begin, let me stress that I in no way think that Heavy Rain is a bad game, exactly. As a game, it is fine. Everybody loves Dragon’s Lair, so there’s no reason not to enjoy Heavy Rain as well. However, taken as an overall experience, there is something very wrong with Quantic Dream’s “masterpiece”—something that ultimately suggests how little respect that game critics have for their own industry, and gamers have for their favorite hobby"

Epic Games’ Cliff Bleszinski describes the Xbox 360 upcoming Kinect game, Milo (also known as Milo and Kate) as a mix between the video game, Heavy Rain, and Pixar.

"A recent discussion came up in my home last month as we were moving into our first real home. See what happened was that we were without TV and Internet for about a week because our cable company decided they just didn’t care that I requested a service transfer two weeks before my move. They cared even less that they assured me 4 times that it would be taken care of. We spent 8 days without television or internet and the question came from my fiance “How are you not bored like I am?” My respo..."

A massive patch, which adds Playstation Move support in addition to other features, has been released for the Playstation 3 exclusive adventure game, Heavy Rain.

The Playstation Move was released in North America on September 17th. Here are the top five video games to buy with the new motion controller for the Playstation 3.

"I beat Heavy Rain a couple of months ago, and while it was shorter than most of the games I play, it was definitely better than I expected it to be. Yet, that was using the Dualshock 3, and while it had motion controls, they were nothing like playing with the Playstation Move controllers at PAX Prime 2010."

"He did, at least, acknowledge publisher Sony's role in Heavy Rain's largely unexpected success. “Publishers in general don't have balls. That's a fact,” he reiterates. “They want a safe bet. They look at what was successful last year, and ask you to do the same. You need to give them reasons to trust you... With a game like Heavy Rain, it comes together very late. If I showed you the alpha of HR, you'd probably kill it and say that it would never happen. Many publishers would have killed that..."

"Last night we got an invite up to Dublin to test out the new Sony motion controller the Playstation Move and to meet two of the people behind some of the games. Kieron Gaynor from XDev studios (The Fight) and Jon Torrens designer of TV superstars where on hand to chat with us and to take us through the games.

Playstation 3 gamers have plenty of great new releases to pick from the first-half of 2010, especially when it comes to exclusive games on the system.

2010 has been an excellent year so far for Playstation 3 gamers. Here are the top ten titles released for Sony’s high-definition in the first-half of they year.

"A few weeks back my family and I were having a discussion about video games. I was going on a rant about how Heavy Rain was amazing for the sheer fact that it had so many potential outcomes. I made the mistake of saying “…the first time I beat Heavy Rain…” and the question was asked “Well…if you can have so many different endings then what constitutes beating a video game?”"

"Unlike the Xbox 360, it's quite unusual for PS3 exclusive games to also make an appearance on the PC. However, Nvidia has listed Heavy Rain as an upcoming title for the PC that takes advantage of their video cards' PhysX GPU-acceleration technology."

With games like Heavy Rain and the upcoming Alan Wake featuring great story's, All Age Gaming's Michael Brennan discusses whether we are entering a time in gaming where a game has to feature a great story for it to truly grab the gamer.

The latest Playstation Pulse episode revealed the top ten most downloaded add-ons on the Playstation Network of the Playstation 3 during the spring season.

"Heavy Rain was quite the masterpiece: a well told story, tightly scripted around player actions and presented like a Hollywood movie. Most reviews are giving it high praise, and talk among the gamer community seems to cite it as one of the top reasons to own a PS3. It certainly is impressive--visually creative, with great sound and voice work, yet telling a decidedly adult tale that stands well alongside movie luminaries such as Seven or Manhunter. David Cage really delivered what he promised..."

"A simple choice can change your life forever. For instance, you may selfishly choose to drive drunk and end someone's life, or yours. You could easily choose to get a ride home and not risk wrecking or endangering someone's health. Of course, those are choices that can be made with dire outcomes. Gaming is slowly but surely introducing the same kinds of decisions. But are we ready? Are they being implemented correctly? And how do we feel about choosing "right" versus "wrong?"

"Gamers can debate all day about which video game character is the hottest; but there is no debate as to which console has the hottest exclusive game babes. The Playstation 3 has some of the best exclusive titles and among those are some of the hottest babes. We run down out top five ps3 babes. Sure we could have run down the usual list of fighters and Ninja Gaiden babes, but those aren’t exclusives. These women are only from games found on the Playstation this generation. As usual, we don’t n..."

"With either style of play, Father and Son gave me a real emotional response, something which so many games attempt to set up but inevitably fail with. Perhaps it’s the domestic setting, some paternal instinct or the fact that my father also used to abandon me on carousels, but the rather dull setting managed to create a solid and almost profound emotional link."

Late last year some were saying that 2010 could be the biggest in gaming history and it certainly is shaping up that way. So, John from All Age Gaming sat down and compiled a list of the Top 10 games in the first half of 2010 (1st January to 30 June 2010). If the second half of 2010 is going to be better, then we are in for one hell of a treat!

2010 is shaping up to be one of the most jam-packed years in the gaming industry with many excellent games already released in the first-quarter alone. Here are ten can't miss games so far this year.

"The PSP gets the bulk of the new games in this week's Playstation Store update while the bulk of the quality PS3 additions are on the DLC side. Take a journey into the mystery of "The Taxidermist" for Heavy Rain, partake in some feasting with Dragon Age: Origins, or hop on to Ryo's forklift for Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing. And don't forget to check out the thirteen new songs from Jimi Hendrix for Rock Band."

The latest Playstation Pulse episode contains a list for the top ten most downloaded Playstation 3 dynamic themes on the Playstation Store so far this year.

"As the videogames industry matures, gamers are expecting more from the story telling capabilities with every new season. Many would argue that the infamous death of Aeris in Final Fantasy VII set a new standard in emotional attachment to videogame characters, and others would suggest that the will to survive or keep your teammates alive, in Heavy Rain and Mass Effect 2 respectively, demonstrated a bond to fictional, but incredibly believable personalities that may well have been inconceivable..."

"As amazing as it may seem given Sony Computer Entertainment’s track record with the PlayStation franchise, the PlayStation 3 has undoubtedly been the outside bet for the current-generation since it’s launch back in March 2007. Arriving late in Europe, with successful Japanese and North American launches already under its belt, an incredibly high price-tag and it’s underdog status has seen the PlayStation 3 achieving slow but consistent growth across the continent in the ensuing three years."

"David explains to Keighley about his next project:

"I have written the next game, [I] have a very clear idea. Its not fully written, its in the synapses stage, but I have a very clear idea of where I want to go next. I don’t want just to make a some kind sequel or whatever. I really want to continue to explore and discover new things and experiment, this is what I am really excited about."

Cage continued:

"It’s going to be very different and I think its going to be very surprising.""

"Quantic Dreams has finally addressed the issues experienced by some gamers in Heavy Rain by releasing a new patch today. The patch weighs in at 38MB and fixes the issues reported by users including the accidental nudity (did they really have to fix that one?), game crashes and audio glitches. Booting up your copy of Heavy Rain will prompt you to download the v1.02 patch."

"People who didn't pre-order Sony's PS3 exclusive Heavy Rain will get the opportunity to download the pre-order bonus DLC, "The Taxidermist" from the Playstation Store on April 1, 2010. The DLC will cost $4.99 and will require you to own the full game of Heavy Rain."

"February was an incredibly busy month for video games, considering it’s only the beginning of the year. This episode, the guys from GamesCastLive chat about Mass Effect 2, Dante’s Inferno, Heavy Rain, MAG, MX vs ATV: Reflex and Aliens vs Predator. Find out what they had to say about these titles, as well as look forward to what March has to offer."

Heavy Rain is very much a love or hate it sort of game, so it'll be interesting to hear what Yahtzee has to say this week. He's known for his love of an engrossing experience but hatred of QTEs. Let's see...

If you've played Heavy Rain, you might have noticed it bears some similarities with 90s thriller, Se7en.
But what if the movie Se7en was a game like Heavy Rain? Youtube member LBQ2TS answers that question with a very well put-together video.

Spoiler Warning: This video spoils Se7en's ending. You've been warned :)

"Unsurprising as the announcement may be, it has been revealed today that Square Enix’s highly-anticipated Final Fantasy XIII has taken the top spot in the UK’s multi-format sales chart for the week ending March 13th, 2010. Having launched in both the North American and European territories on Tuesday, 9th March 2010, on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 simultaneously, Final Fantasy XIII has lived up to it’s expectations commercially."

"The NPD sales report for February is in and the Xbox 360 is the best selling hardware for the month. Finishing in second is the Nintendo Wii, with the PlayStation 3 in a distant third. Overall, the month was strong for all three home consoles and if things stay strong until summer, each system could be looking at a banner year.

Bioshock 2 for the Xbox 360 is the top-selling software title for the month, but Heavy Rain managed to make it into the Top 10 with sales breaking the 200,000 unit ..."

During the Sony's GDC 2010 press conference, Peter Dille thanked the gaming press for positively reviewing the unique Playstation 3 exclusive game, Heavy Rain.

"Dating back to the full-motion CGI and pre-rendered backgrounds on the original PSX to Heavy Rain today – if it’s pretty, we can be forgiving for the lack of actual gameplay. Heavy Rain is an epic today, but will likely fade from memory soon with the exception of using it to show 360 fanboys the graphical power of the PS3."

"Let me say this first, I love Heavy Rain. I think it is a great game and parts of the story are good. It also has tons of problems though, mostly with the story, especially after a certain point. The gameplay and premise are solid, but there are a lot of problems, some of which are just pathetic. There be spoilers below, so don’t read it if you haven’t beaten the game."

"Until recently games have never been able to play out as if they were a real life story: there have been shallow little decisions to make at points, or none at all. Death or a little mess up could be rectified easily by pressing continue or restarting a check point. Enter Heavy Rain, Sony’s exclusive which is set to make every decision count, but will the consequences of your actions leave you satisfied?"

"After all the hype, you’re probably a little sad you can’t play Heavy Rain on the PC. But now, thanks to Alex Austin of Cryptic Sea, you can. No, really. He’s done another game. “It’s a text-based adventure tightly-based on a Youtube video I watched of Heavy Rain,” he says helpfully. You can get it from here. And in a rare moment of fairness, here’s Phill Cameron saying why he dug the hell out of Heavy Rain which is an exciting game for the PS… wait! We’ve been duped! It’s a Trap! EJECT! EJECT!"

"This exclusive DLC was handed out with pre-orders of Heavy Rain. Being in North America, I had to wait until March 4th to get it, and I'm kinda glad it was free.

But at a suggested retail value of $4.99, I'm wondering what future DLC releases will show us. The Taxidermist is only Chronicle One--here's hoping that there's a Chronicle Two."

""I don't even want the players to have fun when playing. There are so many games that revolve arround fun, this is getting boring. I want the players to live through emotions. I've built the game like an emotional rollercoaster ride.""

"Heavy Rain is Quantic Dream’s latest idea of turning an A Grade movie styled experience into an interactive, chair gripping adventure. While this is not a direct sequel to their 2005 cult classic Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy, Heavy Rain further develops, refines and reinvents the game play formula building on Fahrenheit for the better.

Due the strong story in Heavy Rain this review will be as spoiler free as possible. To put the story summary into one sentence would be: To find and stop th..."

"Gaming culture takes over Tate Britain tomorrow, March 5th 2010, as everything from low-tech parlour games Charades and Werewolf to performance and interactive media art with Blast Theory's Can You See Me Now? take the spotlight in Late at Tate Britain: Game Play. Plus talks from presenters of Resonance FM's One Life Left Ste Curran and Simon Byron, and experimental music from David Toop and Unknown Devices: Laptop Orchestra will be taking place- it's all to play for."

"Quantic Dream, the studio behind creator director David Cage, put a big leap forward in game design. Their latest Interactive Drama Heavy Rain is one of the most unique experiences you'll ever have. The title received an immense amount of hype due to an impressive tech demo at 2006’s E3.Heavy Rain is a thriller based on a serial murderer named the ‘Origami Killer’. There are four playable characters which are all connected to a series of murders."

"Quantic Dream’s Heavy Rain is a game made by people who clearly love the cinema. They first showed us this when Indigo Prophecy hit the Playstation 2. It wasn’t a traditional game in any way and neither is Heavy Rain. This French Developer has expanded exponentially on the ground work they themselves laid down years ago. Without a doubt it is one of the most unique games in history. I will do my best to avoid any spoilers. That said, the only question that matters is whether it is a good game..."

The recent patch to Heavy Rain is causing a whole host of problems. The most recent issue is full frontal nudity. Luckily, its Madison Paige who is nude and not one of the other characters. A clip of the glitch can be found at the source but is NOT SAFE FOR WORK.

The long awaited PlayStation 3 exclusive Heavy Rain has finally arrived. Fans of famed French developers Quantic Dreams have waited years for this game that promises to offer a truly unique experience unlike anything that has come before it. Does this new release deliver or is it just another game that talks the talk but fails to walk the walk?

"In an attempt to keep you feeling connected with the game's characters, almost every action demands a button-prompt. Press up to open a door. Tap square to move an object. But the same mechanic that's in play to help you feel connected can also distance you from the game the most. Characters will happily sit inside a car for hours on end as the soundtrack swells dramatically and we cut from camera angle to camera angle just waiting for someone to push the thumbstick left."

Heavy Rain has been a highly anticipated PS3 game for a while now. Bringing a new dimension to gaming and a rare Adults only experience where the game has you in control of what appears to be a long thriller movie, does it fulfil all its promises? Find out after the jump.

"saddening to think that there may never be another game like Heavy Rain, though there is a possibility that it will inspire other game developers to follow the same path.

Heavy Rain is more of an experience than it is a videogame, and one which every PlayStation 3 owner should indulge in. Each player will have a unique experience, and one so significant and impactful, it will change the way we conceive modern gaming."

Although it may not have been as packed as the first month of 2010, February still provided plenty of great new releases, especially in regards to unique titles from niche genres.

"With the highly-anticipated PlayStation 3 exclusive Heavy Rain now available in most major territories, the PlayStation 3 gaming community has gone made for Quantic Dream’s “interactive drama.” But the excitement isn’t limited to the specialist media and online videogames networks, over at DevWebPro, Mark Rivera has devised a tutorial on how to create a real life Madison Page using the original actress behind her performance, Jacqui Ainsley."

All Age Gaming's Phong Nguyen bring's us the 31st AAG "The Week That Was". This week he discusses Michael Pachter's thoughts on Project Natal, Xbox Live Game Room's release date, updates coming for Playstation HOME, the new Black Wii, Super Mario Galaxy 2's release date and more.

According to Supererogatory, New Line Cinema has optioned the PS3 exclusive Heavy Rain, which means they are considering making it into a film...

"I think even BioWare would have to admit, though, that the sex scenes depicted in one of their most recent titles, Dragon Age: Origins - in which your character and paramour of choice roll around by the fire with their underwear on - felt a bit awkward and cheesy."

"If you enjoyed playing through the main game, you should definitely pick up the first chronicle. It’s very lengthy, intense, and possibly the most brutal scene in the entire Heavy Rain experience. This content is only available to those who own the collector’s edition at present, and there is no known date of price for when it is made available to the masses"

"A brief look at the villains from your favourite books and films will reveal some common personality traits; they're all a few sandwiches short of a picnic. This is of course true of video games too, with many antagonists - who are more often than not found in the form of boss battles incidentally - displaying qualities that would suggest they're not quite with it upstairs.
Here then, are the ten most psychotic characters that have appeared in video games."

Heavy Rain's unique combination of intelligent, cinematic presentation and interactive cutscenes make it just as enjoyable to watch than it is to play the PS3 exclusive. The Kartel has recorded live gut reactions throughout a first playthrough of the game and it's quite the mixture of humor, uneasiness, and shock. For those who don't mind checking out some heavy spoilers of the game, check out our live commentary inside.

"...showing off the install process for Heavy Rain, and while it is indeed lengthy, at least Quantic Dream gave players something to do while the game does its thing. Enclosed in each copy of Heavy Rain is a piece of paper you can use to make your own Origami Killer calling card, and the loading screen contains instructions on how to get the job done. It’s a game AND an arts and crafts project! Fancy!"

It's no wonder that the American version of Heavy Rain's cover art copped so much negative feedback from fans and critics alike. The presentation has been cited as "terribly americanised" and I wouldn't disagree. As such, Sony Computer Entertainment America have backflipped and offered the European version to print, as their way of apologising.

Who here likes Limited Edition stuff? Thanks to Kotaku, 10 lucky people will win the limited edition (can there be any more emphasis on the word LIMITED EDITION) "Origami" Edition of the new Playstation 3 exclusive game: Heavy Rain. All you need is a camera; to take a "moody" photograph similar to the screens we've seen of the upcoming game. The icing on the cake: It's for Australian residents only!

"If videogames are to attract an even wider audience, they need to evolve, making gameplay easier and more natural even as storylines become more engaging. Heavy Rain is a big, awkward lurch in the right direction.

An intense, serial-killer mystery in the style of movies like Se7en and The Silence of the Lambs, this PlayStation 3 game boldly merges hard-core production values with casual game design.

The Mature-rated Heavy Rain packs all the trimmings of a game designed for niche hobbyis..."

2010 is becoming one of the busiest first quarters that gaming has seen. This week will be the debut of the much talked about Heavy Rain along with some playful party games and RPG's in the mix.

"Mr. Cage has penned and directed one of the most gripping and thrilling mysteries I have seen in a video game. Nearly every action that you take with the playable characters affects the outcome of the main story. When you go back and redo them, you're cheating yourself out of a one-of-a-kind experience -- just like learning the secrets of your favorite magic trick; once you know the secrets, the magic is all but gone."

"As many of it’s gaming conventions are neatly disguised, on face value Heavy Rain uses more film mechanics than it does interactive ones. Camera angles, suspense building and character development are all drawn from motion-picture, as opposed to being devised for interaction; it seems almost as if the level of interaction increases your understanding of the character’s motivations. The game subtly gives minor character details within the incredibly tight mise-en-scène – taste in music, career..."

Various Heavy Rain walkthrough videos are compiled together on one page by VGB. Helpful if you're looking for tips to finish the new PlayStation 3-exclusive interactive drama game.

"I was very skeptical at first, how could you really get a good feel of playing a game if all you're doing is pressing button combinations to interact with the world that you are in? But trust me it works! Heavy Rain manages to make you feel in control just as much as any other game you have played."

megaStryke has decided to post up what could be initially seen as a very strange idea for comparing two games. They've decided to take a look at the similarities between... Wii Fit and... Heavy Rain!? That's right, check out the source to see what you think!

"From horrific tales of a child murderer to bouncy, fun kart racers, this week's new releases have every possible angle covered.

The "horrific tale of a child murderer" title belongs to Quantic Dream's PS3 exclusive Heavy Rain. Considered "not really a game" by its developer, Heavy Rain will attempt to tell a heavily cinematic and intersecting story of four characters who are searching for a murderer known as the Origami Killer.

Finally, the bouncy, fun kart racer comes from Sega and t..."

"Not very," says Samuel L. Jackson. See what other people in the entertainment industry have to say on the matter in this short film.

Michael Lafferty has delivered his review of Sony's heavily anticipated Heavy Rain and came away impressed. A graphical powerhouse, along with pushing the standards for gaming, Heavy Rain stands out in the opinion of Lafferty.

"When you pick up Heavy Rain next week and get the voucher code that allows you to download the first episode of the Heavy Rain Chronicles: The Taxidermist, you will have to wait two more weeks to download it off from the PlayStation Store. Originally planned to be released on the time when the game is released, the Taxidermist won’t be available for download until March 4th.

For the time being, keep those voucher code. Remember that the DLC is worth $4.99. Check back with us near the DLC’s..."

""Thank you for supporting Interactive Drama.” David Cage may not repeat his digitised Fahrenheit appearance, but his voice rings clear in the first Trophy Heavy Rain awards. Odd it should arrive at the outset, where our ‘support’ amounts to one glass of orange juice glugged and two children entertained. Perhaps Cage means to reassure us. After months of struggling to describe and defend individual moments, Quantic Dream has found a confidence in the whole. But where great movies are unified i..."

"Considering I am an openly Xbox 360 fanboy it’s hard to admit that one of my most anticipated games of 2010 comes from a studio that develops exclusively for Sony’s Playstation 3, Qunatic Dream. Their first next-gen game goes by the name Heavy Rain, and it hits stores early next week. The reason it caught my attention to such a higher degree than the Call of Dutys and Halos of the world is because it’s completely different than anything available on the Xbox 360 these days (that will change o..."

"When it comes to Heavy Rain there are two different types of people: those who think that it’s just a giant quick-time event (more movie than game) and those who understand that it is much more. The latter may or may not have played Quantic Dream’s excellent Indigo Prophecy but the former certainly hasn’t. What this French company is trying to do is reinvent storytelling in the video game medium. With a script of over a thousand pages long, they certainly aren’t slouching in that task. The qu..."

Sony launched the PS3-exclusive, Heavy Rain in the UK yesterday, with a surprise guest, actress Lindsay Lohan. The game launched at The Electric Cinema in London last night, where LiLo was pictured leaving late last night.

Whether it's been for good or bad publicity, Heavy Rain has been featured in the gaming news quite often, so PCN couldn't wait to get my hands on this unique title and see what it's like for themselves.

PCN thinks that it's a fantastic experience and a must-buy title for most gamers, but not completely flawless.

Nick, admin of TheGamerAccess.com, is back again with Nick's Gaming View Episode #3. He covers the latest news and happenings in the gaming industry as well as educates gamers how the PS3 and HDMI 1.4 will work together to bring 3D gaming. He also brings up what grinds his gears.

Gametrailers recently reviewed the upcoming Heavy Rain and they were impressed, giving it an overall score of 8.9/10 and saying that the game's story will "get it's hooks into you".
Watch the video below to find out what they liked and disliked bout the game...

"“If you are talking about Motion Control,” he says in reply to a question about ‘motion technology’, “this is something we initially considered for Heavy Rain.” He then goes on to say that Heavy Rain was initially built on Motion Control, and that the controls of the final version are still based on the tech.

So far, so good. But here’s the headshot: “I have a lot of interest in Sony’s motion device,” he says. “There is a good chance that we announce something about it in the coming week..."

"Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and the three of us each has a hot date all lined up. But we also have a secret. On the most romantic day of the year, a part of each of our minds will probably be thinking about the virtual relationships we've been cultivating with our new favorite game characters. Creepy? Maybe. But we're pretty sure we're not alone.

There was a time when such an idea would have been unthinkable. We love games dearly, but there's traditionally been an emotional ..."

Heavy Rain's infamous strip tease and shower scene were popular videos, but it's the much talked-about sex scene that has got the internet buzzing. It's artistically done, much like Hollywood sex scenes, but perhaps not quite what people were expecting with all the hype surrounding this one moment in the game.

"Today the embargo lifted on Heavy Rain reviews and across the web, the game received stunning review scores from top gaming sites. Because of the deserving acclaim, Heavy Rain has taken one retailer’s bestseller list by storm…

It seems as though after reading the rave reviews of Quantic Dream’s PS3 exclusive thriller surrounding the Origami Killer, it may have pushed gamers to go ahead and pre-order the upcoming game, thrusting it to the top of Amazon.com’s bestsellers list."

"If you're planning on skipping the bulk of this text and heading straight to the review score to decide whether or not you should play through Heavy Rain, just know this: the game starts slow. It'll take you a couple hours to get into the meat of the experience and for things to really pick up, but once it does, you'll be on the edge of your seat until the end and you won't want to put the controller down. In other words, if you stick with it, Heavy Rain will give you a ride like you rarely s..."

"When the rain stops falling, you'll find a bright sun shining in Heavy Rain. Quantic Dream crafted the top game of 2010, thus far. It'll be hard to be interested in a game's story again after experiencing this gem. With connectible characters, powerful atmosphere presented via graphics and music, Heavy Rain is an experience like no other. It's a true masterpiece of gaming art."

"Basic Translation:

- Brilliant combination of a unique control scheme and high quality story.
- Only a game could reach out to audiences like this.
- Your emotions will be fully drained.
- A heavy story targeted towards adults.
- Great branching story lines and endings, smart and interesting control scheme.
- Psychologically frightening.
- Acting is great.

"When Quantic Dream CEO and co-founder David Cage watches movies or television, he dreams of the day when game designers can have the same liberties. Cage, whose mature interactive drama Heavy Rain hits stores later this month, says he feels that censorship in games is "probably the strictest in all the entertainment industry.""

"Quantic Dream boss Cage told CVG sister publication the Official PlayStation Magazine: "She's fragile, she's vulnerable, she's naked. Okay, now that's out of the way."

He claimed that nothing in Heavy Rain was gratuitous - and that every clothes-less scene had artistic merit.

"The game is not shocking for the sake of being shocking," Cage added. "There's never sex for the sake of sex or gore for the sake of gore. Nothing is gratuitous, and I think everything supports the narrative and e..."

There is a hidden demo of Heavy Rain available on the Playstation Network Store. Explicit Gamer talks about their experiences while playing the demo and reveals how to get the demo for yourself off the PSN Store.

"Jumping straight into the first level, the graphics were amazing and the environment more detailed than anything we’ve seen on the PlayStation 3. Sony’s Lucy Duncan was correct in stating that Heavy Rain “shows off the power of the PS3″. The graphics surpass that of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and the characters look and move realistically."

"Someone in Europe has gotten their hands on the Heavy Rain demo. Weighing in at 1.8GBs, the Heavy Rain demo is available to download in Europe, at least according to these images. The demo will offer a short glimpse at the type of experience the game will offer, but the overall title is something truly remarkable. The demo should be available for all those that took part in the 'Four Day Challenge'."

At this year's CES, a Sony rep claimed that "graphically, Heavy Rain blows Uncharted 2 away", and it's starting to look like that wasn't just mere PR talk.

Is Heavy Rain doing video games a disservice? That's the question posed by Destructoid's Jim Sterling. With Quantic Dream's David Cage likening Heavy Rain to movies and almost distancing it from video games, is he imferring that video games aren't as good as movies? Is he sending gamers the wrong message?

After an impressive start of the year in January with games like Mass Effect 2, the gaming industry is hoping for another big month in February with another big slate of high-profile releases.

It seems like the infamous reign of mandatory PS3 installs hasn't ended. Lately most games have been able to knock down the file size to 1-2GB but one of the PS3 big titles to release in the new year, Heavy Rain, is going for a whopping 4.2GB's. For many with the newer models, this should would a little problem, but older model owners might need to start deleting some stuff.

"Sony and Quantic Dream had a mission to create a game experience like no other. While Indigo Prophecy offered a truly compelling experience with great characters, David Cage and his team at Quantic Dream have gone far beyond the experience they created in Indigo Prophecy. Expanding on the premise presented in Indigo Prophecy, Heavy Rain will push you to make moral decisions, second guess every choice you made, and really put you in the role of each of the game’s four main characters."

"Sony has sent out Heavy Rain to the media and it comes packed in a nice little package. Stuffed with a newspaper, character information and pictures on a postcard, and even a piece of origami from the Origami Killer. When you first open the shoebox, pictured left, a creepy voice asks the question: "Are you prepared to suffer to save your son?"

We have taken pictures of all the contents of the box to share with you."

Amazon has discounted some of the biggest upcoming games for the Playstation 3. Notable titles include Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Final Fantasy XIII, God of War III, Gran Turismo 5, Heavy Rain, MAG and more.

"As of this writing, we’re already three weeks into 2010. The “new” year is already practically ancient, and pretty soon we’ll have run out of time to make wild, erratic, entirely factual predictions about things that will happen over the next 11 months. So with January nearly over, we’re going for the jugular and answering the question that’s on everyone’s mind: between the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and PC, which gaming platform will claim victory by the end of this year.

Experts antici..."

"David Cage has revealed that one episode of Heavy Rain's Chronicles DLC puts you in the body of the Origami Killer himself.

Over the course of an hour you'll uncover the reason for his murderous obsession, Cage told gameblog.fr (helpfully decoded by our friends at Eurogamer France)."

Heavy Rain is arguably one of the biggest games of Q1. It takes a different path in its gameplay, and everyone is eager to find out if such a unorthodox approach to gaming is going to be accepted by the hardcore gaming crowd. If you're someone who isn't sure about Heavy Rain, heres some good news for you- Mike Kebby, of the European Playstation Store team has confirmed that a demo for the game will be available come February 11.

A lot of people were disappointed by the Heavy Rain box art for NA, which resembled too much of a Hollywood movie poster that is trying to use sex to sell. Compared to the EU box art, which many loved, the NA one is starting to look less and less impressive, and the release of the JP box art adds on to it. Featuring one of the main characters drowning in a flood of, well heavy rain. Its quite a creative box art, A bit odd and not as impressive as the EU one, but still nice. Check it out.

"The title is awarded a coveted Gold Star, and an incredibly respectable 9/10. For those in the UK, remember that you can pre-order the HMV Exclusive Heavy Rain Collector’s Edition for £39.99.

The detailed ERSB summary of Heavy Rain’s “mature” rating is practically a report. This analysis of the controversial content is almost 500 words long and details some of the more “graphic” scenes players will face. Here’s just a few of the intense moments in Heavy Rain that made us squeamish reading them.

"After spending hours with a preview build of Quantic Dream's Heavy Rain, I've found that it's certainly a difficult title to talk about. One of the most anticipated PlayStation 3 exclusives for 2010, I'm still not entirely sure it's even a game... at least not in the traditional sense.

David Cage, the founder and co-CEO of Quantic Dream, agrees, saying that the gameplay is "difficult to describe because it is based on very different paradigms compared to most games.""

"It comes in a fancy gatefold cover, treated to make the textured raindrops appear "real", includes a promo code for the game's DLC, some cute (and bloody) little origami and a big fold-out covered in notes, which in the best case will be helpful solving the game's mysteries, worst case will look nice on the wall of a Heavy Rain fan."

"We’re barely two weeks into 2010 and there’s already enough must-have games to choke one of Avatar’s six-legged horses. January alone is home to seven big-name releases, with February, March and April continuing the trend. Hell, we even know what’s coming in the summer and in some cases (like Halo Reach) we’re even certain of the fall’s heaviest hitters.

"Let me put this bluntly: Slamming X a bunch of times to do something mundane like open a door is not fun. It's never been fun. I'm not sure how or why developers came up with the notion that it'd be a good idea to make players sweat to accomplish seemingly simple tasks, but it's a horrible practice that should die as soon as possible.

That's not to say that there's no room for portraying "effort" in a game. There's a value in it, as it allows players to share a moment with their avatar, as..."

"Quantic Dream boss David Cage said that the game's steamy moments were "about real characters doing what adults do when they fall in love".

"There are a couple [of sex scenes], but it's definitely not porn," he said.

"We don't intend to push the boundaries and be ultra-realistic in every detail. It's about real characters having emotions and doing what adults do when they fall in love.""

Heavy Rain's US boxart was revealed yesterday and fans' opinions weren't very positive.

Well, Sony took notice of the backlash and today announced that they will be releasing an alternative print-out box art for anyone who is unhappy with the official boxart.

The Playstation 3 has gotten some excellent exclusive games over the past two years. 2010 is shaping up to be yet another great year for PS3-only titles.

"Heavy Rain, the Playstation 3 exclusive coming out February 26, is going to change the way people think about games. That's right. I said it, and I'll say it again: Heavy Rain is going to change how people think about video games (yes, even you) and it may very well alter the medium forever.

What is Heavy Rain, exactly? It's been described as an adventure game, along the lines of titles such as Grim Fandango or Day of the Tentacle. The game's story centres around a serial killer (dubbed th..."

"Sony Computer Entrainment Europe (SCEE) has today confirmed the release date for the forthcoming Heavy Rain, currently in development at Quantic Dream. Set to launch across Europe and other PAL territories on February 24th 2010, with the UK and Ireland receiving the title on February 26th, SCEE went one further, confirming the recently rumoured Special Edition and Downloadable Content (DLC)."

Sony has revealed the official release date for Heavy Rain for the US. With just a few short weeks left before the release, it's time to save up some money for all the big releases coming your way.

Heavy Rain has received a final release date for the UK region. The game will release across the area on February 26th. That is quite a good release date as not much games will be releasing in February, and its just missing the madness that March will bring with its triple A titles being released.

All Age Gaming look at the new IP's that are coming in 2010 and narrow the list down to 10 of the best. With so many great games coming in the new year, there is sure to be something for everyone!

Maybe I'm alone in thinking this, but Playboy sure does have a habit of showing some rather unappealing naked game character pictures. These two pictures (featuing Beatrice from Dante's Inferno and Madison from Heavy Rain) are from their upcoming January issue and, well, they aren't very sexy.

"Sony has just released another new batch of Heavy Rain screens. Earlier today, we published our in-depth look at the opening segments of the title and shared tons of new screens. We now have even more screens to share with you below totaling twenty new screens."

"Sony and Quantic Dream have teamed up to release one of the most unique PS3 games to date with Heavy Rain. Expanding on the concepts found in Quantic Dream's previous title, Indigo Prophecy, Heavy Rain will make your actions in the game affect the outcome of later events occurring in the game. Making a moral decision may not be the best choice in some situations, but that's what Heavy Rain is all about. Just how far will you go to save someone you love?"

Heavy Rain is quickly approaching, with new hands-on previews due to go live in one week, and to keep the hype going for this title, we can now see the official boxart for the title. It has the murderous vibe to it, and reveals several of the playable characters.

"Famitsu is reporting a February 18th release in Japan, which means a North American release date will surely be around the same time, too. Though Sony America hasn't formally announced a date, it's been assumed it'll be in the opening months of 2010. Hopefully, this means we'll also have a February release date to coincide with the Japanese release."

In a recent interview with Eurogamer, Quantic Dream's David Cage discussed the upcoming Heavy Rain, whether games are "as capable as films at producing meaty, intellectual content", why love is an important aspect of the game, and why he believes the game's sex/nudity scenes were neccessary.

"Quantic Dreams boss and Heavy Rain director David Cage believes that Heavy Rain is already convincing gamers to purchase a PS3.

Chatting about the narrative-driven title Cage said that the buzz on the Internet forums is that Heavy Rain will help shift a few PS3 consoles.

"This experience should be available exclusively on PlayStation 3, and we want people to buy a PlayStation 3 because of Heavy Rain"."

One of the most interesting things about Heavy Rain is the way it approaches deaths. In most video games, a death will result in a re-spawn until the player does the right action. With Heavy Rain, the story will continue one. And if all your characters die, well then that is a very sad ending. He also talks about trophies are unlocked as well has Fumito Uedo. Praising him and his great work.

"Quantic Dream head, David Cage, told G4 that “[they're] currently working on a demo” for Heavy Rain, and that “finding one scene that can convey what we are trying to achieve with Heavy Rain is something really difficult.”"

"At this year’s Eurogamer Expo PlayStation LifeStyle managed to grab an interview with David Cage, the CEO of Quantic Dream and renowned writer and director of one of next year’s most highly anticipated titles, Heavy Rain. In the interview Cage discusses his plans for DLC, development time, motion controls and much more."

"Speaking during his Developer Session at today’s Eurogamer Expo in London, Cage was responding to a question from one of the attendees following a demonstration of the game. After a bit of a pause and an audible sigh, Cage said, “Whatever I answer, my answer will be suspicious… Honestly, I don’t think so. I think it had to be on PlayStation 3 for two main reasons: the hardware, the architecture of the PS3 is extremely powerful in the way it is structured. If you make a real PS3 engine, then y..."

With scenes like this in the game, it comes as no surprise that Heavy Rain will be censored in certain regions. According to Heavy Rain executive producer Guillaume de Fondaumiere, they "felt the need to adapt the content to the culture"...

"Warning: the link in the story below leads to a video that does feature topless nudity of a character in a game.

You know, I considered starting this article a variety of ways. Something lurid and simple like, "TAKE...IT...OFF!" crossed my mind, but so did some sort of pun or joke concerning video game stripteases with full nudity. But then I figured, "eh, the video will speak for itself," and decided to move on."

Quantic Dream's CEO David Cage is a bit of an opinionated fellow, isn't he?
He recently claimed that game stories are "light years away" from movie plots, and that "movie(s) like UP made me feel something very strong ... what games make you feel that?"

"Throughout the course of this past weekend, September 17th – 20th, the Paris Game Festival took place over on the continent, showcasing some of the best games of this year and the hopefuls for 2010. Big name publishers such as Microsoft, Sony, Activision, Electronic Arts, Nintendo and Square Enix were joined by a raft of development studios and accessory manufacturers, each attempting to wow their audience with their latest and greatest releases."

Altough David Cage stated that it was doubtful a Heavy Rain demo would be released, Quantic Dream’s co-CEO, Guillaume de Fondaumiere, says otherwise:

"I think we’ve quite a number of ideal scenes to choose from, but the difficulty is just actually choosing the scene. But we will have a playable demo."

Quantic Dream is currently aiming to release a demo in early 2010.

"The same holds true for games as well. Even with a game that is very realistic, it is still a game, and part of the reason we play games is to have different experiences. The fact that Heavy Rain gives us this opportunity is all the more reason to play through more than once. After all, isn’t that the true allure of the (as yet) unrealized interactive movie, or the “choose-your-own-ending” books? The fact that you can watch it or read it several times and never have the same experience twi..."

A few weeks ago Sony was asking for your Heavy Rain questions in time for gamescom. The time has come and gone, and today the answers are here -- head to the source for a video interview featuring all the stuff you the fans wanted to know.

"Playing the game through multiple times, even with the prospect of different endings, is a bad idea according to David Cage.

"I would like people to play it once … because that’s life. Life you can only play once … I would like people to have this experience that way," explains Cage. "I’m fine with [people reloading saves to avoid bad endings], but the right way to enjoy Heavy Rain is really to make one thing because it’s going to be your story. It’s going to be unique to you. It’s really..."

"The development utilizing the QTE with the DualShock 3 / SixAxis is already well established. Cage feels motion controls can break the barrier of a casual experience and would like to use the technology in a more mature manner."

"Quantic Dream founder David Cage has hit out at critics who have said the studio's upcoming PS3 exclusive Heavy Rain is quick time heavy.

Asked to respond to the game's critics at gamescom last week Cage said: "Bullshit! Just bullshit! I mean what's the question? We released Fahrenheit before. People know very well what the kind of balance we're looking for is. The balance is quite similar in Heavy Rain.""

David Cage is in talks with Sony to release DLC for Heavy Rain. They plan on extending the story for the game through DLC. We could see a sequel or even a prequel to the world of Heavy Rain that will expand the story even more. He also revealed that the game has online features, as for what it is we don't know. It most likely would be leaderboards.

During Sony's press conference, the next two characters for Heavy Rain were announced. The inspiration for one character, Ethan, came from a time when Andrew House lost his child in a grocery store for a few minutes. The second character, Curt Shelby, is a rising private investigator.

With Quantic Dream set to reveal yet more Heavy Rain details at the gamescom event next week, Sony would like you to pose your own questions to the developers -- leave them in the comments section at the source.

Quantic Dream has already revealed two of the four main characters that players will control. At GamesCom 2009 in Cologne, Germany Quantic Dream will revel the third character, and will reveal the fourth at the Tokyo Game Show. Gamescom is set to take place August 19th to the 23rd.

"David Cage, CEO and founder of Paris-based developer Quantic Dream, creators of the renowned adventure games Omikron: The Nomad Soul and Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy in North America) and of the highly anticipated 2010 PLAYSTATION 3 exclusive release, Heavy Rain, will deliver a keynote at this year’s Game Developers Conference Europe (GDC Europe). Cage’s keynote address, titled “Writing Interactive Narrative for a Mature Audience,” will focus on why mature games are necessary, what difficultie..."

Earlier it was written rumours had been circulating about the Internet that Quantic Dream's epic title Heavy Rain wouldn't be releasing until next year.

Gametrailer's Geoff Keighley has confirmed this to be true, in spite of Sony touting it as the most important title of 2009.

"Rumors have hit the Internet today, revealing that Heavy Rain will most likely not make it in 2009. Although it has not been made official, this article is to reflect my reasons of why I think it would be the best move. Most websites are looking at this as a huge let down, but I for one think that this is the best thing for Sony to do and I have my reasons."

Bunch of new shots in today for Heavy Rain, revealing two new characters which we saw in the silhouettes released yesterday. Five are included here, see the rest at the source.

It's been awhile since we saw or even heard anything new from Quantic Dream's Heavy Rain, but 1UP have managed to secure a hands-on with the game revealing a new scenario and new characters.

[ Discussion in the Heavy Rain Forum ]

Heavy Rain is getting a lot of attention today -- it'll be on GameTrailers' GTTV show this evening and 1UP as of 1AM. Thirdly, the team have today revealed the cast to us...in silhouette form. We love you, Quantic Dream.

Though Heavy Rain initially was planned to be a sequel to Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy in North America), designer David Cage quickly realized he had "nothing more to say on this story and these characters" and went on a different path.

As such, we can expect Fahrenheit will always be an experience unto itself. Check out the full interview for more -- Cage is always a good read.

"The biggest rumour to hit this week that has some substance behind it is the PS3 Slim; Images surfaced this week of the supposed system on a Chinese manufacturing line, I do have to say that the system looks like a cheap Chinese knock-off that might not totally be up to scratch yet, however the box does look very convincing, too good for a Photoshop job. The new PS3 logo threw me off however, but as it was shown at the end of a trailer the other day it may be true. From the looks of this pict..."

Heavy Rain is one of your odd Ps3 exclusives. Its not going for the overdone apocalypse world, or an action-packed shooter with aliens, but something similar to a movie masterpiece. One thing that also makes Heavy Rain stand out is its amazing graphics, some which people have said to surpass Killzone 2 (that is up to you to decide) But here are some new D+Pad scans which feature Heavy Rain. Showing some brand new screens and talking about about brand in new information.

"This year will be a great one for video game fans, since we’re having an impressive bunch of very promising titles announced and, to be honest, I found it really hard to choose just 10 games since other highly promising titles like Borderlands, MAG, The Agency or Batman had to be left out. (And no, I did not forget about FFXIII which can’t be included since it only comes in 2010). But enough talking! Let’s check out the 10 hottest games to be released in 2009 for PS3 systems."

"Don't you just love noir? The deep shadows, the gritty texture... it's perfect atmosphere to bag that Origami Killer yeah? As if there was any doubt of how seriously heavy Heavy Rain could get, here are more concept art and sketches from Morgan Yon.

Makes for some interesting reading and discussion. So slip on over and check it out.

"How far are you prepared to go to save someone you love? For most people in real life, they'd risk life and limb, particularly if the person that you love was in danger of dying. But would you feel the same way with a video game character? Quantic Dream is working hard on trying to blur this distinction by making a title that will play with your emotions, raise the level of story telling and expand gaming. Heavy Rain, their upcoming film noir thriller, will exclusively hit the PS3 sometime ne..."

Heavy Rain has wow'd PS3 gamers everywhere with its outstanding graphics and the unique level of interaction. But despite two tech demo's (yes that second demo isn't actually part of the game) and many screens and videos we still know very little about the title. Writer and director of the title David Cage remedies this somewhat, talking about the improvements made since Indigo Prophecy, what their view of online content is, what their company has planned for the future and much more.

Some of you may remember the Heavy Rain trailer shown at GC2008 which saw one of the lead roles, Madison Paige, breaking into a suspected killers house, only for her to have to make an untimely escape when discovered.

At the Micromania Games Show 2008 yesterday the level in question was publicly demoed, in full, even showing 2 ways in which the level can be ended. Enjoy !

"Remember Farenheit (or Indigo Prophecy to our overseas readers)? It was the story of a man who unwillingly kills a man in a diner and simultaneously followed the story of two detectives trying to uncover a string of murders across the city. It is, by far, one of my favourite games for the original Xbox, even if the last hour or so were a bit farfetched. It is one of my favourite games because of how original it was, how it was presented and the story itself. The main aim of Farenheit was to i..."

Set to change the way games are played, Heavy Rain has caught the attention of many gamers for it's gameplay and unique style of giving control. However, since the initial video that was shown at E3 a couple years back and the video shown at the Games Convention 2008 and until now we weren't given many screens... that is until now... take a look at the screenshots below as well as at the source.

"I should point out that these are the top five games that have the most potential for being Halo, GTA IV and KillZone Killers via marketing, community support, critical praise and sales. It's possible any one of these titles could be as controversial as GTA IV, or as supported as KillZone 2, or as long lasting in popularity as Halo 3."

Even if your character dies in Heavy Rain, you can still continue playing the game. As you can guess, there were tons of questions when this piece of information was revealed.

David Cage, developer of the Adventure game, told CVG that there are save points throughout the game, but begs you not to use them.

In almost every video game there is one main character and he is through out the whole story. If you die, you simply respawn and the story continues with that character. But with Heavy Rain its going to be a little different, if you main girl character dies, she dies for good. That means you have to start as someone else, but the story will keep on going. Just the girl isn't alive anymore.

"Quantic Dream's David Cage walked us through a Heavy Rain demo at Games Convention last week, giving us a taste of how the game actually plays. While much of the presentation touched on facets of Heavy Rain's "rubber band" storyline and little things, like motion captured eye movement, Cage paused often to talk up the PlayStation 3 game's control scheme.

We've already written about the driving game inspired character control -- the R2 button moves her forward, with the left analog steering..."

For those that don't know, a new trailer for Heavy Rain was shown today at the Games Convention in Leipzing, however it seems that not all were impressed by it. One person in particular - Jesper Sellerberg of the Kezins website, was definitely not impressed.

The biggest reason for the dissapointment? The games use of Quick-time events (QTE's).

Heavy Rain the long anticipated PS3 exclusive showcasing amazing graphics in its trailers is about to be shown to the public at Sony's Leipzig Conference, in game footage at last. We also have 2009 as a release date, so keep an eye on the Sony conference.

This is a brand new E3 2008 interview with Heavy Rain game director, David Cage. A lot of exclusive new details of the game are revealed, as well as discussion of how the previous game, Farenheit (Indigo Prophecy in the US), is related to Heavy Rain: The Origami Killer.

"The upcoming PlayStation 3 game Heavy Rain from acclaimed Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy and Omikron developers Quantic Dream, has been hidden from public eyes since 2006’s concept video. Since then we’ve only had glimpses of impressive facial close ups, but now we can bring you a little bit more…

…A zoomed out view of what looks like a new character in Heavy Rain, or at least the same character in a different guise. The visuals are certainly impressive and suggest the French developer might ..."

PSM3 have released a new batch of rumours through there mysterious 'insider' source. The rumours are that David Cage is working on another title alongside Heavy Rain, that Beyond Good or Evil 2 is likely being worked on, that the Simpsons Game 2 is in the works and that the Big Daddy of all secret AAA shooters will be revealed soon. Now put on those Sherlock Homes hats!

This time she claims a teaser trailer for PS3 title Heavy Rain is on the way, Next Level Games next project will be a downloadable title for the 360 and that Beyond Good and Evil 2 may be in the works

"On Locations:
"I don't want to do a big free-roaming city like GTA, because the flow of the story will then be hard to control. Nevertheless, I do want to incorporate big sets, with a crowd, heavy populated areas like a mall and a subway are going to be in there. Of course, the gameplay has got to make use of that aspect too."

On Graphics:
"People will be surprised. Internal (Sony's) feedback on graphics has been great. This is going to be a truly next-gen game. But still, we want to do ..."

"Back in 2004, Quantic Dream attempted to lure the star toward Fahrenheit (Xbox, PS2, PC), which led to a meeting that ended with DiCaprio politely declining on the grounds that technology was not at a sufficient level to accurately portray his acting performance.

But time and technology has moved on since then, and Quantic Dream is once again hoping to sign up some of Hollywood’s biggest box office stars for its latest PlayStation 3 game, which is presently being produced beneath the worki..."

As many have seen from the "Heavy Rain" tech demonstration done on the PS3 a while back, Quantic Dream is great at motion capture. Well apparently, they have also bought the latest and greatest in Motion Capture for their PS3 exclusive game.

For all those who haven't seen it, here's Heavy Rain:

The deal that Sony and Quantic Dream made about making an exclusive game has been announced. It seems the game is Heavy Rain. Also they say that Sony didn't order them to make this project. Quantic Dream funded it themselves. It also goes on to say that this game will use the power of the ps3 to its fullest. And that its a game only the ps3 can do.
Well this is great news for Sony. If this lives up to what they hope, Sony could be looking at another great game. Also a game to push the sales....
