When the highly anticipated Hydrophobia came out last year, it reconfirmed the notion that Xbox Live Arcade was simply a dumping ground for poorly made games. Hydrophobia disappointed its fans with its clunky controls, cheap deaths, and many other bad game play decisions. With the recent release of a completely overhauled version, will Hydrophobia disappoint its fans once again or finally live up to its expectations?
"Kate is an engineer on board of the 'Queen of the World' and quickly finds herself in absolute chaos as a terrorist group called the 'Neo-Malthusians' take control of the massive luxury liner with the intend of killing each and everyone on the ship. After Kate and her uniquely voiced boss Scoot realize what the terrorists are planning they try their best to stop their evil endeavors. The title 'Hydrophobia' implies Kate's fear of natures element as she has some baggage from past experiences i..."

The game takes place in an underwater facility called 'The Queen of the World,' which may be a terribly unfunny call to James Cameron and Titanic, or I could simply be stretching. The story takes place over three horribly paced acts in which you play as security engineer, Kate Wilson. The first act is basically a long tutorial, the second is a bloated mess that never seems..."
"Hydrophobia is the abnormal and irrational fear, of being in or drinking water. Like going into the ocean but freaking out because a stick touched your foot, and you were sure you heard the violins playing as that infamous great white shark was about to devour you so you run out of the 2 feet of water you were standing in, screaming.
Dark Energy Digital asks you to face that fear, and come play in their water, they guarantee it will be different this time. With E3 over and pictures flying ..."
Scrawl's Sal sits down for an interview with creative designer of Xbox LIVE Arcade title Hydrophobia, Rob Hewson. He reveals some exclusive bits of new information.
"Hydrophobia has floated around for a couple of years and was initially set for a release in 2009. But developer Dark Energy Digital has finally announced that the survival shooter is coming in 2010 in episodic form exclusively to Xbox Live Arcade."
It's been a while since any news was released on the 360's upcoming third-person-shooter/puzzle-game Hydrophobia, many just assumed it had become vaporware. But today it has been announced that the game will be released in March 2009.
