"In 2005, LucasArts announced a new Indiana Jones game for next-generation consoles. Originally scheduled for a release in 2007, the game saw constant delays as a result of internal struggles. Due to severe quality issues, it was decided to cancel the project in early 2009. Only externally developed versions for Wii, PS2, DS and PSP saw a release.

"Being that I am a twenty-two year old male, it is only natural that one of my favorite (and most respected) fictional heroes of all time is Indiana Jones. This is why I am confused that nobody is talking about his “current-gen” debut is right around the corner. Indy will be swinging his way onto the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS, and PSP on June 9th, 2009. Get a load of these fortune cookies!"

Davide Jaffe, famous creator of the God of War series has recently announced that he wants LucasArts to call him and his studio Eat Sleep Play, saying that he wants to work on an Indiana Jones game, apparently being a big fan. He says he has some great ideas to expand the franchise, though it is doubtful LucasArts will take up the offer.
Those looking for their whip cracking fix will have to seek elsewhere other than the 360 and PS3 this year, as LucasArts have just recently announced that the game, after many years of development has been cancelled. This comes just after the recent announcement of the Staff of Kings coming to the Wii, DS, PS2 and the PSP, another Indiana Jones title, and likely the reason for the cut of the next gen versions.
