James Bond: Quantum of Solace

James Bond: Quantum of Solace

Black Friday is fast approaching but there are many awesome video game deals available now. Here are some of the best deals on Xbox 360 stuff from around the internet.

Well we have to keep an eye on things, and it seems one of OXCGN's writers is doing so as well.

Especially around Activisions activities of late. Now it's pupping out games at a decent rate, and it seems that i t is not too fussed as to their contents either.

Come check out what the next James Bond Multiplayer game is all about, or more to the point, not about - James Bond.

"While many people are excited about the re-mastered version that will arrive via Xbox Live Arcade, I’m still hoping to see a true sequel that will live up to the lineage of the original Perfect Dark."

"Upon reading the predictably generic reviews, one issue stood out that made my decision even harder. I couldn't get an accurate impression because EVERY DAMN REVIEWER ONLY COMPARED THE GAME TO GOLDENEYE 64!!! Let me set the facts straight, ladies, gentlemen, and amorphous gaming blobs: I have never played Goldeneye 64. Ever. So, while you slowly and steadily march to my house to kill me (I'll be the one outside on the lawn burning copies of Goldeneye 64 and shouting cries of worship to Satani..."

"Of course, we can’t say otherwise about Activision or Nintendo, even though the companies could be a bit upset they did not manage to break some records with their titles. But maybe next year… until then, here are the bestselling titles in the UK:

1. FIFA 09
2. Call of Duty: World at War
3. Mario Kart Wii
4. Need For Speed Undercover
5. Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training
6. Wii Play
7. Quantum of Solace
8. Professor Layton and the Curious Village
9. Tomb Raider Underworld
10. Wii Fit"

"When you see long-standing publishers take a hit and respond by laying people off, canceling projects and delaying triple-A games, you know something is very wrong. And even though 2009 has a nice line-up of hardcore games that are easily classifiable as big-budget, they could be the last for a long time to come."

"EA SPORTS’ FIFA 09 has become UK’s all-format Christmas number one following a late sales spike at the retailers. The highly successful sports title, which was considered second-place in the running for the top spot, stole the accolade from under Activision’s Call Of Duty: World At War’s nose..."

"Before I even begin with this review I would like to make a small request from you dear reader, and that is that you try to leave those generic hostilities towards movie tie-in games at the door, and while you are at it try to stop thinking that Golden Eye on the N64 is still the best Bond game in existence, as to be quite honest it is totally unplayable now."

"From the outset of the story, you get the feeling that you aren't going to truly "run and gun" your way through this game, but Quantum of Solace doesn't go so far as to be the Gears of War 2 "stop and pop" either; there are situations where you can't just run in kill everyone and leave the bodies in your wake as you run out the room. Stealth does play a factor in the game as well (achievements please), and sneaking around feels correct in the spots where it needs to. The silent kills are pre..."

Olga Kurylenko is the latest young and attractive lady to be a "Bond Girl" for the latest James Bond movie and the video game, James Bond: Quantum of Solace.

Entertainment Weekly engaged the actress in an interview, all about video games no less! She's now the third celebrity of recent to be affiliated with video games, the other two being Angelina Jolie and Liv Tyler.

Unlike the other two though, she's not a stranger to video games. Though she didn't have them herself as a kid, she pla...

A very special week! This is about the third week in a row we've had a killer line-up, so be prepared to make your light wallet even lighter, me thinks.

First there's Quantum of Solace (which received a "passable" IGN review), then NHL '09 for hockey fans, Resistance 2 (in a special collector's edition, too, if you fancy that sort of thing), Valkyria Chronicles (which, conversely, IGN quite liked), and Gears of War 2. Meanwhile DS owners get a couple of very special treats (just after Hall...

Attend the midnight launch for the Quantum of Solace game, get a exclusive Guitar Hero World Tour track. Not a bad idea, good promotion for the movie and for another game, however, it is a bad song.

"[Intro]

Well, in all fairness, Quantum of Solace does at least nail the essentials. The genetics of the Call of Duty 4 engine it's built around are instantly apparent, and given that game's calibre that's no bad thing. Never straying too far from the series' blueprint of eking slowly forward amidst an onslaught of enemy fire, Treyarch has understandably watered down the formula, and the result is a shooter that's clearly playing to a more casual crowd, and at times it feels as if Quantum o..."

"Let’s get right to the good stuff: There’s prizes that range from $10.00 all the way up to $2,500. In fact, Best Buy is giving away three PlayStation 3 units, a Sony BRAVIA XBR 52” 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV and some other goodies."

I think the Wii version of this game might end up being the superior version based on controls alone.

Please try to ignore the crappy techno music when watching.

"Following our report on last week's Resistance 2 Beta Key Giveaway for customers who pre-order at Gamestation in the UK, we now have details of a similar promotion the retailer is now offering for the forthcoming Quantum of Solace from Activision. Here’s the release details in full..."

"Activision has finally slapped a release date on their upcoming Quantum of Solace movie tie-in. The James Bond-flavored first-person shooter should be hitting North American stores on November 4 -- just over a week before the film's opening night. That should be more than enough time to play through the game for a refresher on the events of Casino Royale, and maybe a few spoilers from the new flick to boot."

A group of analysts over at Cowen and Company have said that Activision Blizzard plans to release a new James Bond video game every year.

Doug Cruetz, one of the analysts, is sure surprised, given the fact that there won't be a movie accompanying the newest Bond game releasing this year: Quantum of Solace.

Since this hasn't been confirmed yet, it will be treated as a rumor.

It's the first outing for James Bond on the next-gen consoles, and this allows the developers to really test themselves and create a game that resembles the movie. But how much of the film will actually be in the game? Well take a look at this, we've got a newly released video straight from Activision, who give us a behind-the-scenes look of the move from movie to game.

We've all been wondering what games will contain Trophies, ever since they launched back a couple of months ago, and whilst only a few titles have been patched with trophies so far, how exactly does the future of Trophies and the Playstation 3 look? Well, ps3trophies.org decided to go to Leipzig to ask that question and they've got back a list of games that will include trophy support.

"How do you make James Bond the video game character feel like James Bond the movie character?

That was the question I posed several different ways to Garrett Young, the executive producer of this fall’s first-person game “Quantum of Solace,” during a phone interview earlier this week. For instance…

* How do you make sure he doesn’t shoot so many people that he no longer seems like a suave super-spy?
* How do you make the player feel like a ladies’ man?

Well, it starts with m..."

Joystiq had the chance to talk with Jeremy Luyties, who is a design director for the newest James Bond game. Jeremy talked about the graphics of the game, if the game will be coming out with the movie, and a bunch of other things.
