"Kane & Lynch: Dead Men wasn’t particularly well-received. The game was criticized for its aloof protagonists, wobbly story and clunky shooting mechanics. Despite the lukewarm reception, it was granted a sequel. Could IO Interactive learn from their mistakes the first time around? After all, the Kane & Lynch idea is at least interesting—a much more grimy approach to games, where the heroes aren’t heroes, the storyline is gritty, and the visual style borrows heavily from shaky cam and digital v..."

2010 was a year of great games, and not so great games. These aren't the worst games of 2010, but the ones that let us down the most. Check out the top ten most disappointing games of 2010.

"The weapon sound effects sounded more like cap guns fired inside an auditorium with poor acoustics. Not to mention the aiming system that was used made it feel like I had no control over where the bullets ended up after they left the gun. If that isn't enough, the AI was so advanced that I had a hard time getting through a stage of the game without dying at least once. Another big problem in the game is the cover system, it doesn't work...period."

Actually, I'm going to list some of it anyways. No hype, just facts: We have a panel discussion on downloadable games with Adam Boyes (Beefy Media), "Eka" (Monday Night Combat), and Robert Bäckström (Bionic Commando Rearmed 2), along with an interview with FIFA 11's creative director. We also look at the future of 3D and game coverage, the history of the medkit in video games, the Akihabara arcade scene, the latest on PlayStation Plus, and much more. And of course, all of the latest reviews a...

"Whether you like Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is up to what you were actually expecting it to be. The first game was more story and character driven, but the sequel is not. This time around it’s just basically two guys shooting their way out of a very bad situation by any means necessary."

This one has received mixed reviews, but personally I like to take games as they are presented, rather than compare them to any preceding title, and how the games gives me my entertainment.

OXCGN reviewer Betho provides her take on the game, which dose seem to echo my thoughts on how games should be approached.

Come check it out, and the pics and video . . well worth the read . ...

""The best way to describe Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days would be to simply state the following: Kane was like “Bam!” and Lynch was all like “Pow!” and I was like “WTF!” It’s essentially a title that attempts to be more than a game and, in the end, turns out to be a crazy episode of Cops, but from the point-of-view of the criminals. The end result is dysphasia; a game that is almost incomprehensible.""

"Target, Toys R Us and Best Buy are all offering deals this week meant to get shoppers to make multiple purchases. Meanwhile, K-Mart is offering a hot deal on Mafia II releasing this week and a similar deal on Red Dead Redemption."

"When I sat down to play Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, I had high hopes. It's by one of my favorite gaming companies, Square Enix. I was geared up for an engaging plot, amazing graphics, and maybe even an RPG element or two. I was in for something very unexpected."

"Throw in a couple of psychopaths with guns, Shanghai gang members and corrupt police and you have Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days, a game filled with brutal gun fights and camera perspectives that put you right in the action. Actually, a one line description couldn’t come close to doing this game justice. The battles are simply crazy with more time for panic and little time for thought."

"A new video has dropped, dubbed “psychopath,” a vignette of Lynch blowing up everything and everyone he comes into contact with. Kane & Lynch: Dog Days is due out August

"

"Kayne & Lynch hit our consoles and PC’s in late 2007 and became one of gaming’s most notorious duos, due to the game’s over-the-top approach and violent antics. As unlikable as the two middle-aged psychopaths can be, they’re back for a second outing, and we got our hands on Kayne & Lynch 2 for a little controversial action."

"The demo for Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is now available to download from Xbox LIVE. The sequel to the game that caused a review score controversy features both single and multiplayer modes for you to try out."

As always, OXCGN does things a little bit different, and the preview on Kane & Lynch Dog Days is not different.

They got their two writers to both play the demo handed out recently and then do a debate style preview of the game.

Head over and check it out, a very different approach to seeing how the same game is played and perceived by two different players.

"It would appear that the restricted demo is going well because Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days has gone gold and will now release one week earlier than previously scheduled, although not by much as the original date was August 24th, 2010. The worldwide dates are scattered across a two week period with August 17, 2010 in North America and August 20 throughout Europe and other PAL territories, but will still release in Japan as originally scheduled on August 26."

One game that did stand out for OXCGN at E3 2010 was IO Interactive's Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days. Their writer at E3 certainly was taken aback when he had a chance to get hands-on with the game, and is not shocked by recent news from the publishers about the stats of a recent closed multiplayer test they had recently.

Come check out OXCGN's thoughts and the stats that seem amazing, especially considering the short test time.

GamerSyndrome checks out the playable demo for the PlayStation 3 version of the upcoming Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days at this year's E3. How did the game play? How did it look? What expectations did we gather from the playable demo?

"GamingShogun.com writes: "The voicemail, I discovered, was from Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days' Lynch himself. In the message, he stated he needed my help (assuming I was Kane) with a job in Shanghai and ending the message with warm sentiments of how it would be 'nice' to see 'me' again.... Oh how I love the E3 marketing! Let the games begin!" (audio embedded at source)"

"The multiplayer featured in Kane & Lynch 2 isn’t your standard Deathmatch/Team Deathmatch modes, and there isn’t even a capture the flag mode. What it does have is some very unique modes that force you to think and work as a team. Over the next few weeks we’ll be highlighting each of the different modes that will be in Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days. This week we’re taking a look at the Fragile Alliance mode and the single player version of that mode called Arcade Mode."

"IO Interactive's Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days will see the light of day this August, and publisher Eidos recently sent over a collection of media highlighting the brutal shooter's Arcade Mode. Normally "Arcade Mode" comes with implied simplicity, but here it has some real depth. You must cooperatively pull of a heist within 4 minutes, and actually escape the heist to continue. All the while, your "allies" could turn on you at any time."

"Eidos and Square Enix have released a new, extended gameplay trailer showing off their upcoming gritty actioner, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days. The game is due out on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC platforms on August 24th and features the continuing story of the two anti-heroes..."

"Originally announced in November 2009, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is said to be inspired by documentary films and the age of user-generated content. Following two of gaming's most disturbed criminals through the gritty Shanghai underworld, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days will be presented from Lynch's point of view, rather than Kane’s as it was in the first game."

It was recently tweeted by screenwriter Kyle Ward that actor Jamie Foxx was cast for the role of Lynch in the upcoming film adaptation of Kane & Lynch. A script is in play, and we already have a Kane (Bruce Willis), so it looks like the film is finally going to take off with the role of Lynch given. It's certainly an interesting pick for the psychopathic sidekick, but perhaps Foxx and Willis can make this movie happen...and not face the dreaded 'video game movies suck' syndrome.

The new debut trailer for Kane and Lynch 2 has been put up and the game looks very intense and gritty. The trailer shows both main characters in opposing situations but definitely leaves gamers wanting more. Click on the source link to view the trailer.
