Killzone 3 seems to open doors for more adventures and Guerrilla Games has confirmed that there will be great chance for a fourth game of the franchise.

"Shotguns. Boomsticks. Double-barreled hand cannons. Skeet blasters. Every self-respecting online shooter has to feature a powerful shotgun, if for no other reason than to adhere to the rule of weapon tiers as established by id Software in the early 90′s."

Words are very sunjective, and thy mean different things to different ppl, but within the media, or the medium of writing, some have more distinct meanings than others.

Many games these days are given the tag as being beautiful, but are they really, or are they simply outstanding pieces of art? Slip over to OXCGN for another one of its Gamer's Debates on how some call Killzone "beautiful" . . . is it really 'beautiful'?

"While Killzone 3 was not exactly a disappointment of any sort, there are still a few areas that Sony and Guerrilla Games could improve upon. We’re by no means dismissing the game, but we have some suggestions for future installments, whether they take the form of downloadable content or the inevitable fourth title."

Man I have to say that these limited editions are finally starting to give the buyer enough extra stuff to make the purchase worthwhile. You may have seen the un-boxing video from the Killzone 3 Helghast which was excellent by the way, but I have also put together a slide show to show you some of whats inside the art book as well so check it out.

Guerrilla Games have released a comparison video showcasing the differences between the two multiplayer maps that appear in Killzone 2 and the upcoming Killzone 3.

"“Just to give you an example on the graphics side: we pulled a level from Killzone 2 into the Killzone 3 engine and it ran at 50 per cent. That’s how much power we’ve been able to find.""

"It fills your living room with plastic tat, fills the games market to saturation point and features gameplay in which the controller feels more like an obstacle to immersion than a conduit between you and the game on the screen. Of course all these charges could be levelled at any game in the Guitar Hero or Rock Band series, but for sheer disappointment Guitar Hero II steps forward on behalf of its fellows to take the award.

Contrast the endless series of heavy metal peaks on the soundtrac..."

"I think what Killzone 2 suffered from was the amount of variety that was in the environments and the in the minute to minute stuff that you did and we really wanted to up that," said Ter Heide.

"A lot of the variety in Killzone 2 took place in the final couple of chapters where all of a sudden you've got this big kind of mech suit. A lot of people didn't actually reach that stage."

"We look at what people do and we take on board feedback that we've gotten from the forums and from you ..."

James Gallagher, the Content Producer of Sony Computer Entertainment, explains why they didn’t save the unveiling of Killzone 3 for this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo.

"There are no pre-renders, no elaborate unplayable cut-scenes and no false promises; Killzone 3's reveal is pure and simple – an extended hands-on with the fourth level of a game that we're thrilled to report is full of awesome. In a cinema a few hundred yards from Guerrilla's studio in an Amsterdam that is, thanks to an ongoing strike from the city's refuse services, looking as grimy and hostile as the surface of Helghan itself, we're given the first look at a game that's going to get PS3 own..."

The first details from the upcoming Playstation 3 exclusive, Killzone 3, have emerged in a world premier article in the latest GamePro magazine issue.

Five unannounced yet heavily-rumored Playstation 3 exclusive games that may appear at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, which will be held next month.

Fan of Lost Planet and Killzone, or Gears? Well than this should catch your interest, some sweet DLC is coming to Lost Planet 2 in the form of Helghast and Marcus. Get some new skins for the online mode with these to add on packs. So if Ps3 owners get helghast, and 360 owners get Gears, quite a good way to treat each console. Four of the latest Greatest Hits games on the Playstation 3 are being bundled with a DualShock 3 controller in May and will be sold along with the peripheral for $59.80.

"A recent episode of Qore on the Playstation Network revealed that a number of existing games such as Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Gran Turismo 5, and Wipeout HD would be getting the 3D treatment. However, Sony has recently issued a "clarification" according to the site that originally posted the story, The Gamer Access."

"As we reported yesterday, Sony is adding new games to the "Greatest Hits" collection. However, Sony has now confirmed that there are ten games getting added and not just the five that were showin in the Wal-Mart flyer. Expect to start seeing the fancy new red boxes and $29.99 prices at retailers in the next couple of weeks."

"Thrifty gamers who weren't willing to spend $60 on some of the biggest games from the last year and a half will get their wallets tempted as five new titles have been added to the Playstations 3's "Greatest Hits" line."

The PS3 has been out for a few years now and has gotten a lot of flack for lacking strong titles. Here are a current top five games for the system and unsurprisingly, they're almost all exclusives.

An article from Cinemablend that breaks down some of the hype/press surrounding a game's visual progress from alpha to going gold. The comparison includes the alpha shots of popular games compared to gold status screenshots.

"In light of some decisions recently made by third party developers, I believe I have some ideas as to why it's hard to sell hardcore third-party titles on the Wii.

So what do you do? The Wii doesn't have all the technical features of the 360 or the PS3. So how can a third party make a Wii hardcore title that can compete with 360 and PS3 hardcore titles? EA actually had a pretty good idea with Dead Space: Extraction. HD console owners who like Dead Space would be interested. Plus, there ar..."

Yesterday images leaked over the internet of the new skin pack for Uncharted 2. Today, Naughty Dog confirmed this on the Playstation Blog and it will be released on Jan. 28th. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has continued to set new records since its release in November last year, grossing more than £67 million in its first week of sales."

A special treat for The Bender this week. We spend time with the gamer who loves to sue (currently Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony, and Activision-Blizzard), Erik Estavillo. Special guest Raychul Moore (girl gamer, Dan Hsu's better half) joins us with this interview discussing his cases and the guy himself. "What a great year it was for gamers. Aside from a few disappointing games and some not so pleasant news this year (Closure of Pandemic Studios), we (and of course you) have been enjoying some great games across all platforms throughout the whole year.

Anyway, we are here at VGarabia.com introduce you to our candidates for the Best Of 2009. We believe that we have created the best list possible for each nomination. You can vote on more than twenty different nominations, from the Worst game..."

"The gaming industry has gotten bigger and better with each passing year, but sometimes they just don’t do things right. Whether it’s game play, story, pricing, or business practice, sometimes the industry needs a little friendly fire from the gamers to keep it in line."

"As if the early 2010 schedule wasn't jam packed with amazing exclusives already, Sony is now hinting that they have the end of the year covered as well. Naming a few names you have Heavy Rain, God of War, MAG, Gran Turismo, and a few others heading before and during summer next year, however Sony has been ignoring the Fall line up for some reason. Now we know why."

2009 has been a great year for us gamers. While there are still a few anticipated AAA titles to come, we have hand picked 6 games that have already been released that will more than likely be on the shortlist for the 2009 Game Of The Year.

"Following the introduction of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots to the European PlayStation 3 Platinum range earlier this year, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe have today confirmed a number of titles set to enter the range prior to the years’ end. With a UK Recommended Retail Price (RRP) of only £19.99, these titles are certainly likely to fare well alongside the recent Price reduction and redesign of PlayStation 3 hardware."

PSN users who have purchased either the Steel and Titanium Map Pack, or the Flash and Thunder Map Pack are in for a special 'thank you' from Guerrila Games. Today, promotional codes went out for a free, exclusive T-shirt in Playstation Home. So far, only SCEE regions have been confirmed for the free T-shirt.

If you have not beaten Killzone 2 do not continue reading on, as this article contains spoilers.

Spoilers: We all know that there will be a Killzone 3. Killzone 2 was a huge game for Sony and they left the ending wide open. If you have beaten the game, you will know that one of the best characters, Visari gets killed in the end. Even though he was evil, his speeches brought a tingle down your spine. Well why would Guerrilla Games get rid of such a amazing character? Well they might not hav...

"25 Things About Me: Scolar Visari

1. The name is Scolar Visari, absolute ruler of the fierce Helghast Empire. I lead my people to war with the purpose of annihilating the very existence of humanity.

2. Weakness is not a trait shared by the Helghast, nor is it something I tolerate. My nation and army only live by the Helghast Triad: Duty, Obedience, and Loyalty. Anyone unfit to follow this allegiance will be put to death!

3. I am one of the few that don’t wear a gas mask to aid my bre..."

"It was on Killzone 2's launch day that a copy came direct to me via GAME, and without haste, I rammed the disc into the machine as soon as I came hoem from school. Having played the demo beforehand, all I wanted to do was to play the online mode everyone was talking about. The first day of Warzone, for me, was quite a satisfying session, ranking up faster than I had imagined, courtesy of the bots that infested the online matches at the time, meaning buckets of easy XP for those who took the f..."

"It has been an exciting week for all Killzone 2 fans with the recent release of the third DLC map pack, Napalm & Cordite, as well as patch 1.29. For supporting Guerrilla Games back from February and until now, they would like to thank our loyalty by supplying us with an Extra XP Weekend."

"In a recent blog post on the official European PlayStation Blog, Guerilla Game’s producer Seb Downie, stated that after the release of the third map pack for Killzone 2, his studio is going to “take a step back from Killzone 2″."

"One of the greatest online multiplayer games to hit this year is Killzone 2. The game offers a solid multiplayer experience along with an excellent single player campaign. Guerrilla Games, the developers of Killzone 2 have been hard at work supporting the game by releasing a good amount of map packs."

We all buy into the hype at some point. I mean, how can we not? The media is a powerful faction, the trailers and reviews can make up our minds for us. So when we first play a game it's not unusual to think it's perfection on disk. It's only after some months we begin notice things, things we didn't realise before or, if we didn't like them, denied them. Lets look back on one of the premium shooters of 2009 so far; Killzone 2

Today Nick McCandless from TheGamerAccess.com talks about Guerrilla Games' future plans for the PS3. Will they just develop another Killzone, or could it be something we have yet to see?

"Halo started it all for console first person shooters as we know them, and until Call of Duty 4 came along, it was pretty much unopposed. One failed attempt to take the crown was the original Killzone, which received a poor response from gamers everywhere. Killzone 2 launched on the PlayStation 3 earlier this year in February and has gone up against the juggernauts of the FPS genre. We here at TheGamerAccess.com were hungry for more information on Killzone 2 and the future plans of Guerilla G..."

TheGamerAccess.com would like to inform you that the latest Killzone 2 patch is now live. Read More to find what changes 1.28 brings with it along with one of the most requested features added.

"Guerrilla Games has announced that another patch will be making its way onto their popular FPS tile, Killzone 2 in the near future.

The DLC will consist of two new maps titled Napalm and Cordite, both which are based upon a fire and ice theme. Alongside the new maps, will be two new weapons in the form of the appropriately themed Flamethrower and Boltgun."

Console bundles are usually a hit-or-miss. Sometimes they might come with one game you want, but mostly they come with crappy games that stores just want to get rid of. So it's always nice when a console bundle is this awesome...

"Not too long ago Guerrilla Games gave Killzone 2 players their first map pack called Steel and Titanium. The two maps were based off of the levels found in the campaign mode. For their second map pack, Flash and Thunder, they wanted to give Killzone players a blast from the past. The two new maps are remakes of fan favorite maps from the original Killzone on PS2. The remakes of Southern Hills and Beach Head both have interesting environments that lead to the name of the map pack. \"

"Before you expect a bias answer to the question above, I adore both types of graphical output, and you could never get me to decide between the two. Since I have remembered, my choice of console games haven’t just lay within the simplicity of seeing if it is good or not, but also the visual feast too. This may not always be the best way to go shopping for games, but some masterpieces are idolised by their gameplay, story and design, and then by their graphical output; the two prime examples b..."

"Hello everyone! My name is Victor and I’m the Editor for Killzone.com at Guerrilla. For my first post on the European PlayStation.Blog, I have the honour of announcing the new Killzone-themed content for PlayStation Home.

Have you ever peered out of the windows of your cosy Harbour Studio apartment and wished that the view was a little less… serene? Maybe you’ve stared down at the calm, sunlit marina and wondered what it would be like to overlook a burning, war-torn cityscape. Perhaps you ..."

"In terms of sheer visual brilliance, I’d put this title up there amongst the likes of Gears of War 2 on the 360. The visual landscape really brings out a feeling that there is a large scale war taking place."

TheGamerAccess.com has just recently published on their website that there will be a patch 1.27 coming to the PS3 very soon. They have also provided the details about the new update for the Killzone 2 title.

I thought of writing up an article about this to explain pretty much how annoyed I've become by this character while I played the game. Now it may come as a surprise to some since the character I'm talking about is Rico from Killzone 2.

I thought Navi from Zelda was annoying until this dude who is obviously on juice is just the icing on the cake.

Reasons why Rico is annoying:

1. Roids. He's so large that he blocks you a lot of the time and I find myself trying to melee him to get o...

Killzone 2 has already received one map pack, featuring two new maps that are very diverse. Now Guerilla Games has released footage of the next Map pack, called Flash and Thunder Map Pack. The two maps are from the first Killzone 2, but upgraded for the PS3.

Check out the video after the jump!

Remember the fuss we caused with that Bayonneta: God of War killer article? That was fun, wasn't it?

Guerilla Games' (Killzone 2) Managing Director Herman Hulst is on our side with this whole thing, introducing some democracy into the mix.

Basically, for those that still bother with this 'franchise X killer' nonsense, grow up, cause the people that make these games sure aren't doing it!

Many gamers have been complaining on the official PlayStation forums about frequent game crashing and lock-ups. PS3Center offers a quick fix for some of those affected.

"The upcoming "Steel and Titanium" DLC pack for Killzone 2 will also add 12 new Trophies to the game, all Bronze. Two two maps will feature six Trophies each, encouraging players to utilize all the various classes and tactics available in multiplayer. To check out the new Trophies, click past the break."

Killzone 2's first map pack will hit April 30th, but to tide fans over until then is this trailer. Vekta Cruiser and Wasteland bullet are the two maps too be included in the Steel and Titanium pack, based on portions of the single player campaign. Both maps look excellent, and sure along with the new ranks to keep gamers happy for a long time. See the trailer at the source.

"So! Killzone 2 came out. And needless to say, it was awesome. And while under construction, the world wondered if it could live up to the standard Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare set. And I decided to post this because on last week’s Helcast, Jam BK brought up an awesome point! But first, this is not a comparison. It may look a hellova lot like one, but it’s not! The points I bring up are just what I found interesting between these two games. Let me explain

First, my situation. A few month..."

One disappointing thing about Warzone is that there are only a few ranks, and it isn't to hard to rank up. Now in the new patch that will be released on April 22nd will add three more ranks. Hopefully that are very difficult to achieve as well. In the patch is a lot more fixes and features.

Follow the link to read about all the other features.

WB is based loosely on the mine-train at the beginning of Tharsis Refinery and VC on The Cruiser level of the single player campaign. They are however heavily remodeled to suit multiplayer.

"So the first announcement of DLC has been confirmed through an interview with Gametrailers TV. The guys at Guerilla understand that developing a FPS nowadays, there has to be DLC to keep people interested. Adding to the eight maps already available is a must since eight is a relatively small number already. The first of the two announced will be available by the end of April"

"Videogame history is littered with rage and frustration. While we all love and cherish this noble hobby we call gaming, it has still been the source of thrown controllers, broken furniture and endless streams of curse words. While much anger has been had at bad level design, cheap deaths and wasted money, plenty of rage has been reserved for the characters themselves.

Game characters can be incredibly annoying. This is the result of an industry where game developers try to be writers, and ..."

"But unfortunate for Guerrilla, loosely combined moments and protracted battles never work beyond the online space. There, circumstance can boil down to “run here and shoot this” with little stretch of the imagination. Yet contrary to that relative bluntness, singleplayer needs context and pace to survive: It needs the power of an evenhanded storyteller."

"I'm sure you guys remember that Killzone 2 "Bullet" commercial from last month, yes? It's the one the went all Matrix-y with the whole slow-mo footage of a bullet zooming past a fragfest - sort of reminds me of Korn's video from ages ago. Yeah it's that video I've embedded above,
in case you haven't noticed yet.

Anyway, back when it was revealed, Sony and Guerrilla Games also announced that a playable version - yes, playable - of this TV spot would be made available on the PlayStation Ne..."

"PS3 owners have been enjoying the sweet and sugary delights of the much-hyped Killzone 2's multiplayer for only a short time now, but it seems that KZ2 developer Guerrilla is already making plans to change some of their policies. Specifically, they're going to begin bringing down the banhammer on people taking advantage of various glitches in the game's online modes."

"-Increase of the standard points settings for Bodycount. Should ensure longer mode on heavily populated games.
-The return of Online Bots. Adding bots to an online game renders it ‘unranked’.
-The option to create unranked games. Players will be made aware that a game is unranked upon joining.
-Fix to Game Search functionality so correct maps are displayed.
-Standardization of the Y-Axis controls on the HGH Scout when zoomed with the Sniper Rifle.
-Fix to Sensitivity setting where the we..."

Quite an amazing fan made music video. When you watch it, you can tell the 3typen (creator) put a lot of effort into, and it came out pretty well. Mixing in the voice of Kenneth Ewen Griffith and some amazing music. Check it out below.

"We here at That Gaming Site do not take sides and do not have console favorites. We do, however, wish to see the gaming industry remain healthy and recognize that in order to do so competition must remain fierce in the ongoing console battle. With that in mind, we have created a few relatively simple, but effective moves Sony can make to strengthen their position throughout 2009 as they seek ..."

Does the epic battle between the ISA and the Helghast take the PlayStation 3 to knew heights? With the fight now taking place on Helghan, there are all new environments and weaponry that creates some memorable moments. Check out our in-depth review of Killzone 2.

"Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and Guerrilla Games called on Axis yet again to deliver a breathtaking sequence for the next installment of the epic Killzone game franchise. Killzone 2 is set two years after the Helghast assault on Vekta and the ISA are now taking the fight to the enemy’s home world of Helghan."

Everyone knows the saying "Don't judge a book by it's cover." Well the same applies to games you would think. But we all know that sometimes you see a game cover that just screams, "Buy Me!" Here's a list of 40 game covers that really got the attention for being imaginative and eye catching.

Approximately 300 Killzone 2 ads that were on display in various Toronto bus shelters were taken down ahead of schedule due to complaints about 'War' and a 'menacing head with glowing eyes' (a Helghast). It appears the initial complainant is a school teacher that noticed these ads near the school he teaches at, though there were various complaints that also popped up from other sources.

As a result, it appears Sony Canada (or as the article states, 'Playstation') is planning on having a '...

"It is unfortunate that in the real world, there are certain types of people who just look like sex offenders. Whether they are or not. Peter Jackson, for example, wouldn't look out of place with his trousers round his ankles, running through a nursery and being sick all over himself. Same goes for Geoffrey out of Rainbow. There are certain people that, should it come to light that they've been arrested for some hideous sexual misdemeanor, we wouldn't be surprised. This is why it's so easy for..."

The reviews for Killzone 2 have been an ample source of discussion, some reviewers praising it as the leading contender for GOTY09, despite its early release, whilst others grimace over the time it took for Guerilla to actually finish the game. Extra Ammo will divide the review process into two articles; reviewing the offline component and online component. In this online review, the site grants Killzone 2's Warzone mode a stellar 9.2

"In what could only take place in a parallel universe or a twilight zone, a Helghast soldier has attempted to invade San Francisco. His weapon of choice? Cupcakes.

SCEA introduced a pretty cool surprise to the media last week to coincide with the launch of unarguably the biggest title of 2009 to date, Killzone 2. Sony sent out a Helghan soldier to visit media outlets in San Francisco in order to see if journalists could tell the difference between a replica statue and a real "soldier" -- so..."

First thing's first, this article is satire, and is not meant to be taken seriously. If anyone comes in here starts complaining about this starting a flame war then it will just show what an idiot you are, so please feel free.

Anyway this humorous article makes the many points on why the PS3 exclusive Killzone 2 is better than the 360 exclusive Halo 3. It explains midget empowerment, claims Master Chief is a pedophile and oh so much more. So check out the source and grab some popcorn!

"Killzone 2 is finally out, after the walloping amount of hype for the last couple of years the verdict is right in front of the noses of all their loyalists who have vociferously defended the game on all its fronts. After playing through the game three times on three different difficulties, we thought of compiling a list for Guerilla Games on the things that needs to be included in Killzone 3 making its experience top the current feeling of adrenaline and jubilation."

"That action is enhanced by groundbreaking visuals that elevate Killzone 2 to the head of its class. Both technically and artistically, this is a real stunner. You'll first notice the obvious expressions of its technical prowess: environments jam-packed with objects and textured architectural details, pipes and crumbling rebar jutting from dilapidated buildings, and gorgeous lighting that drenches market squares and sandy battlefields with an incandescent glow...

"Let me start off by saying this review is almost a curse. Over the past few weeks as the reviews of Killzone 2 flooded the internet, sites were loved or loathed based on the number at the end of their article and accusations of ‘fanboism’ were thrown thick and fast.

Unfortunately this is the fate of many major exclusive releases for the 360 or PS3. Despite not actually having played the full game internet trolls declared sites that awarded an 8/10 or lower for Killzone 2 flatout wrong or b..."

"Well, the wait is almost over as Killzone 2 is just a few short days away from hitting the PS3. We are very excited about the game & would like to thank PlayStation Nation for the support that all of you have shown. To show our gratitude, we’ve decided that for the first 14 days of March, we’ll be giving away one Helghast StA52 Assault Rifle replica per day to one of our fans. Check out these photos (NOT RENDERS!) below.

All you need to do is to play Killzone 2 from March 1st to March 14th..."

"Even if you don't own a PS3, buy a copy anyway and wish real hard for the gaming fairies to bring you a new console. When that fails, feel free to steal your friend's unit and then pretend to feel bad when he tells you about how somebody broke into his house, stole his PS3 and kicked his dog."

"The topic of gaming publication bias is all the rage right now. From one forum board or comment section to the next, it’s easy to point out gamers claiming that a site is biased against a particular console/game all because nice things weren’t said in a review, or the author reported on news findings that rendered unfavorable results. But is this really true?"

One thing is for sure, Killzone 2 is getting A LOT of hype. And Guerilla Games has gotten a little used to it by now. But not so much in the beginning. This isn't to new for Guerrilla Games as the first game received a lot of hype as well, but it was no were near as big as this.

"Steve: The multiplayer valour system. We are looking forward to watching the major transactions that will occur when clans have earned large sums valour (in the order of millions). These high risk games we will be spectating and keeping tabs on."

One of the first killzone 2 commercials has been revealed. Now I don't speak Spanish, but the commercial is still awesome. The video is enough to entertain you as the camera rotates around helghast and ISA soldiers fighting. The commercial shows off a lot of gameplay which is a good thing.

Now is the rest of the commercials going to be of the same video but in different languages? The only way to find out is to wait.

The following video contains images that may offend.

In the video you'll see the poor masked guy handing out roses to the confused public on the 14th February.

Pretty hilarious in its oxymoronic visualisation. The following video comes from Game-TV.com"

"I was checking out Killzone 2's Metacritic page to see what the general critic consensus was on the game, when I noticed a site that I had never heard of before. The site is http://www.ps3bloggen.se/, and it gave KZ 2 a perfect 100/100 score. Now, Metacritic doesn't discriminate when averaging together review scores (as far as I know), so "PS3Bloggen"has as much pull on the Metacritic average as G4TV, 1UP, GamePro, Edge, or any other large publication. I went to PS3Bloggen and to my dismay di..."

"Killzone 2 is coming out next week, so we are pretty sure you PlayStation 3 owners will be quite busy. But if you are looking for that gem of a game, that you may have missed, we are going to list the Top 5 PS3 games that didn’t get the attention they deserved. Whether it be because you didn’t own a PS3 yet, or because you just didn’t pick up the title, doesn’t mean you should miss out on these games. Here is our top 5…"

"A part of the KillZone 2 following has turned fundamentalist. When did fandom stop being fun and start being religious? When reviewers were told that they weren’t doing their job by the fanboy community. As quoted from Only The Games regarding a commenter on the TVG review of KillZone 2, the poster says…“This review embodies the toxic, vile, cheap and nasty wh0re that the gaming media has become. yes, that’s right chris, you’re a wh0re, a nasty, vile, toxic and cheap WH0RE.”"

"Following on from our story Killzone 2’s marketing budget we can give you the TV teaser for what is shaping up to be a serious contender for the big game of 2009, Killzone 2. It’s nice and menacing, with plenty of horror trailer tropes to get you scurrying behind the sofa, only to peek back at the TV while you pre-order your copy…

Having read our recent articles on advertising and gaming (parts 1 and 2), do you think there are other things that might work? Any ideas for some off-the-wall K..."

After four years of painful waiting, Killzone 2 releases in under two weeks. An appropriate amount of time to dial up the Killzone 2 hype machine. But while we are waiting, here is a cool Killzone 2 fan trailer, mixing Halo 3's music with the Killzone 2 Helghan trailer.

Back in 2005 at E3; Killzone 2 was shown to the world. This video amazed ever one demonstrating the raised standard with regards to graphics with almost life like visuals. It looked like nothing at the time would top the Playstation 3's capabilities.

"In a very honest and appealing look at the whole KillZone 2 hype and review fiasco, Lawrence Sontag takes the time out to look at why KZ2 has been receiving high scores and specifically how the game itself relates to those scores. A word of warning, if you’re a fanboy you might not want to read any further than this."

Killzone 2 release is imminent, and you better get in the season. You can decorate your PS3, monitor, PSP, or even Xbox 360 with some awesome Killzone 2 wallpapers. All are fan-made but pleasing non-the less.

Fallow the link to download them in 1080p.

Wich one is your favourite one?

"We were invited for a tour of Guerrilla Games' studio last week. We talked to Steven ter Heide about the game, the engine, and the inevitable sequel to PS3's most famous game. Join us after the jump for a look behind the scenes and some interesting information on the future of Killzone."

"It’s Victor Zuylen from Killzone.com here. With Killzone 2 receiving lots of positive attention from the press, I figured now would be a good time to give you a taste of the bonus content which can be unlocked on Killzone.com through the game.

After you’ve uncovered a piece of Helghast intel in Killzone 2’s single player campaign, you can connect to Killzone.com to claim a special reward. These unlockable rewards come in various shapes and sizes – some are simply printable versions of the..."

"The Closing Line- If Halo 3, Gears 2, Call of Duty 4 and Killzone 2 were released on the same day, we would pick this game up leaving all other shooters to whine and cry about. This game may not put up a revolutionary stance apart from the visuals, but it does everything else pretty remarkably to give its consumers an enthralling and engaging experience. Love or hate the PS3, no-one can ignore the beauty this game brings, it is a necessary title for this generation and worth buying/owning a P..."

TheGameReviews.com has located another far more serious bug than others that have been reported. This bug is not only annoying, it actually breaks the game.

"European pre-orders for Killzone 2 have surpassed 1.1 million units.

"The 1.1m pre-orders are for Europe only and that's [as] of last week," Sony told us after the figure was reported in today's Guardian.

Effectively Killzone 2's already a million seller in Europe then, which isn't bad going, especially seeing as the game's £2 million marketing campaign has yet to get into gear."

A rather hilarious response by Adam Sessler to some of the many comments left about G4TV's review of Killzone 2.

I'm not really a fan of G4TV but this video just killed me. Near the end he gets pretty angry too, but when you're accused of hating a game even after giving it a perfect score and people question your integrity as a journalist, wouldn't you be?

Probably not if you aren't a journalist... go to the source for the video.

"Completely unlikely comparison, eh? Yes, I know. However, some readers began comparing them because of the amount of detail in the Batman: Arkham Asylum screenshots. In fact, while putting this comparison together, the 6400x3600 HD screens from KZ2 and Batman crashed the photo program several times. Yes, that’s how much HD these games are carrying."

There have been reviews on Killzone 2 from other reviewers, like IGN and UGO, but now it's Gametrailer's time.

It's very a positive review, and I agree with most of the things the reviewer has said (which is rare).

Final Score = 9.2

"UPDATE:

According to ThreeSpeech.com, our friends across the pond aren't the only lucky gamers expecting a demo of Killzone 2 this week, with North America also receiving the demo this Thursday.

The demo, based on the first level named Corinth River, is split into two parts. The first takes you through "Beach Landing" (Helghan's Normandy?) and the second is the "Warehouse." You can also expect the tutorial to help you through each section, as we're sure the gamers who weren't lucky enou..."

"Killzone 2 is unquestionably the biggest first-party game of the PS3’s lifecycle so far. After a disappointing holiday season for Sony, they’re looking to get back on the horse with a big-budget PS3-exclusive action game that will, hopefully, give them the Halo-killer they’ve been looking for. The end result is a big of a mixed bag, with a forgettable single-player campaign and excellent multiplayer features."

Houndreds of companies flock to the Superbowl and pay millions upon millions to for a mere 30 seconds of air space during the big game. Some people only tune in just to see the superbowl ads. And Sony is getting in on the action. Releasing this awesome Killzone 2 superbowl ad. I might tune in to the game just see this on live television.

"A Killzone 2 casual web game is to be launched as a part of Sony’s £2 million marketing campaign.

The game will be available to download for Firefox and Internet Explorer users, and invites players to fight in teams against the ‘Helghast threat’

“We're very excited about our online campaign,” says Killzone 2’s UK product manager Phil Lynch."

"Is it possible for the hype of a game to completely fuel both its designers and its fans eagerly awaiting its release? In the case of Guerrilla Games' upcoming Killzone 2, the answer is an emphatic yes; the developers knew that they wanted to meet or surpass the action of the now infamous E3 trailer and have been trying to perfect their anticipated shooter. As far as fans were concerned, they were hoping that Killzone 2 would be the system seller and showcase for the PlayStation 3 -- a game t..."

Those wary of the scores given to Playstation exclusives by Official Playstation Magazine's need fear no longer, for Sony's much anticipated shooter seems to be garnering such high scores and praise right across the board.

Eurogamer posted their Killzone II review at 5PM this evening, and it got a firm thumbs-up from the tough-marking website. The final verdict? PS3 owners can rejoice, because in Killzone II, the Playstation 3 finally has the first-person shooter experience it's owners hav...

You know how people sometimes take things to far? These people did. An AV club in Wheat Ridge, CO took two dozen 360's and set them on fire, creating a massive bonfire in celebration of the upcoming game, Killzone 2. Sigh, with all that money spent on those 360's, they could have bought the game four dozen times.

Note: Article is a satirical piece about Killzone 2 fanboys.

"This year will be a great one for video game fans, since we’re having an impressive bunch of very promising titles announced and, to be honest, I found it really hard to choose just 10 games since other highly promising titles like Borderlands, MAG, The Agency or Batman had to be left out. (And no, I did not forget about FFXIII which can’t be included since it only comes in 2010). But enough talking! Let’s check out the 10 hottest games to be released in 2009 for PS3 systems."

Second only to the Wii's Mario Power Tennis, due out in March, Killzone 2's hype for its Playstation 3 release has become increasingly more powerful. Killzone's 2 pre-order total is higher than the highly anticipated games Street Fighter IV, Halo Wars, and Resident Evil 5.

Killzone 2 has finally finished being developed. Since 2005 Killzone 2 has been under heavy development and its almost done. Now its time for the production. In some more news, Mike Graham of the Playstation.Blog has said that you can expect a lot of advertisement for Killzone 2. Many people have blogged about how important it is for Sony to advertise this game, and it seems like they know that.

You don't have to be a fan of Killzone 2 to enjoy these pictures. A mosaic compilation of a houndreds of killzone 2 screenshots. Put together to make the Europen boxart. It must of have taken a lot of time and effort to put it all together, but in the end it looks amazing. Its starts off with one image and slowely zooms out to the full image.

"If there ever was a graphical battle to be fought between two titanous games, I don't think it would get any bigger than this. Gird tight your loins fanboys, because this is going to be one hellacious comparison."

If you haven't pre-ordered Killzone 2 or can't because you don't have a gamestop near your house, you still can get a chance to play the game before it is released. About 1 day before the game's release. The PSN demo will be released on feb. 26th. That should give you enough time to get the hang of Killzone.

Follow the link to read up on why Sony planed Killzone 2's demo release like this.

"Video game fanboys (and fangirls, of course) are everywhere. We live in a culture of brand loyalty, and each of the big three (Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft) have a history that has garnered love from some and hate from others. Even the most stout platform agnostic probably has a little bit of fanboy deep down inside, either because of childhood memories, owning only one current generation console at a time, or one of other countless reasons. Here is a brief guide to know how to talk like a vi..."

"Guerrilla Games has told PSU in an exclusive interview that there are currently no plans to implement co-op in Killzone 2.

"Currently there are no plans for co-op in Killzone 2," said game director, Mathijs de Jonge. "Technically it would be quite difficult to implement it for the story mode as for example the mission sections are loaded in seamlessly – no loading screens , and that would cause issues with teleporting players. Even without co-op it’s still a big game and gamers will have ..."

"Fanboys have been plaguing the Internet for quite some time with their silly propaganda, heinous slander, & a laggard intellect that leaves the rest of us sane humans flabbergasted at the fact that these are the type of people we not only have to deal with on forums or blogs, but also in person typically at retailers where I purchase my games from. I just don't understand the logic behind being a fanboy, I mean the way I see it it's a lose lose situation. These companies do not compensate you..."

So you probably have seen every Killzone 2 trailer, have your copy pre-ordered and patiently waiting for Feb. 27th. But do you know everything about the story? A great entry showing the start of the helghast all the way to Killzone 2 time span. This si great for people who don't know the story, or for new comers to the series who are wondering about the Helghast.

Sony are really pushing Killzone 2 to shift some serious copies, both of the PS3 and the game itself. Naturally to help achieve this a bundle pack is in order, a picture of it is to the right. This isn't official, and even if it is so far its only for Europe, but either something similar to this should be hitting all major territories.

"The Bosslady of the Game Developers Conference has written a post updating us on what we can be expecting from the upcoming convention (March 23rd through the 27th).

Sure, we'll get great speeches from some of the Killzone 2 devs, some Lionhead people talking on Fable II, and something or other about Far Cry 2. The bigger news to come of this...

A designer and project manager working on Mass Effect 2!"

The opening cutscene for Killzone 2 has been released and as all other videos and screenshots of the game have shown looks awesome. Featuring gorgeous visuals, great sound and promising kickass gameplay this truly makes Killzone 2 out to be the Game of the Year.

There's no doubt Killzone 2 is looking to be a very big title for Sony with it's fun gameplay and beautiful graphics. And why wouldn't it be with the amount of work and dedication Sony and Guerilla games devs has been doing for the game, and money. But does it come as a surprise an anonymous Sony representative continues the hype for this game?
And does this hurt the game like some games which didn't live up to the hype *cough* Haze, Lair *cough*? Well only time will tell.

Whilst a PSN Demo was said to be releasing much later in North America, much after the availability of the demo via the Gamestop Pre-Order Scheme, it seems that Europe will be much more luckier, getting the demo straight in the playstation store, without any Pre-Order schemes.

The date for the demo is still TBA, however it will be before the EU release of the game.

Community Manager for Insomniac, jstevenson managed to play the game and tells us how he absolutely loved it.

It should be noted that Insomniac along with SONY's Santa Monica studio helped with the development of Killzone 2's AI algorithms.

Well if you didn't feel like reserving the game in the hopes that the demo will be released on PSN. While that is true, it turns out that you would have to wait untill the game is released before it comes out on the store. So if you really cannot wait to play the demo so you can get a feel of the game, head on over to your local gamestop and pre-order it.

The metacritic fanboy war continues. Some time ago, Resistance 2 scores were lowered by 360 fanboys. And then the same has happened to KillZone 2. To get revenge on these 360 fanboys, a large number of PS3 fanboys have got together to lower the score of Halo Wars. They have succeeded, and the score of Halo Wars now resides at 0.8 out of 10.

Killzone 2 appears to be living up to the hype so far, the first review score coming away very positive. OPM US according to this source (unfortunately in German) gave the game a score of 5/5, as well as reviewing several other games. It is a bare bones affair, but is at least an indicator of the quality of the title.

"EndSights contacted a local Michigan GameStop retailer to see if the Killzone 2 demo discs were in the wild, but a GameStop employee confirmed that they were not available currently, and did not know when they’d be available."

"Sick of the bog-standard avatar outfits for Home on the PS3? You could always preorder Killzone 2, and do it through Amazon, because doing that will get you some new, free kit.

Customers taking Amazon up on the offer will receive enough Home clothing pieces to fully outfit their avatar as either a Helghast soldier or a trooper from the ISA."

"A European release date for Guerilla Games' highly anticipated first person shooter Killzone 2 has been finalized for February 25, 2008. That means, in a rare occurence, that European PS3 owners will actually be getting the Sony exclusive title two days before their North American counter parts. By some reports, major European gaming publications have even already begun receiving review copies of the title. Considering that Guerilla Games itself is a European developer, this shouldn't come ..."

OXCGN writer looks at the future of graphic between the top two heavy-hitters, the PS3 and the Xbox 360.

The former coming into its stride in 2009 will no doubt push Xbox 360 to doing more tweaks in that area, but he asks the question, will it really matter ? Isn't "gameplay" the thing "gamers" look for ?!

Makes for some interesting reading and discussion. So slip on over and check it out.

As Christmas fast approaches and so does the release of Killzone 2 the team behind the official Killzone website have decided to release not one but three wallpapers showing how the world of Killzone functions during Holiday seasons. The first is already up (pictured right) and two more are on the way. I think this one would do fine for my desktop.

Only the highest of qualities have been kept when designing the world of Killzone 2, whether it be the Helghast character models or as in this case, the ISA Cruiser. As big vertical battleships these babies can apparently hold a small army, bomb an entire city and launcher dozens of defense craft. This interesting documentary I found goes over the history of its design (both in game and by the developers), problems and issues had, and how it has been implemented into the game.

Killzone 2 was given its classification by the BBFC last Thursday on Decemeber 4th, and now it has been revealed that it has been given a 18. Apparently the game is very violent, not surprising from what we've seen, still this doesn't bode well for people in places like Australia as it does not have an 18 or R rating. Meaning there is a possibility it could be banned, though Resistance 2 got a similar rating and slipped through.

"Guerrilla Games is focusing more on fine-tuning the shooting, fixing up the weapon balance and evening out the multiplayer. But most of you who came here for the screenshots probably already knew that."

"After taking a glance at the shots below, one of the most conspicuous features you should notice is the upgraded character models. In the Dec. 08 version, facial textures have been noticeably improved along with some characters featuring completely different gear and weapon load outs. In addition, Guerrilla Games has made a number of improvements including enhanced motion blur and lighting effects, with colors and shadows appearing much darker."

Sorry Red, it turns out the game won't come out on the 17th like it was rumored. But it has been confirmed to have a final release date. Killzone 2 will be in your hands on Febuary 27th, only 10 days later then the rumored release date. Europe is also rumored to have the same time frame as the NA launch.

Gametrailers has 3 all new single player campaign all in glorious high definition. Killzone2 is shaping up to be one beast of a game. "The cynic inside of me didn't want to believe the hype. How could I forget that the original Killzone on PS2 was backed by an overwhelming hype machine, powered by vocal drones declaring it a "Halo-killer?" When it was released in 2004, critics were impressed by the technical presentation but found very little substance in the gameplay. Four years later, with an early version of the single player game, I wondered if Killzone 2 would repeat history.

Let me be as clear as I can. Killzone 2 i..."

Let's all thank TTP for his time and great work with all these! It's important to note that the videos are getting more and more spoiler-ish as you go down the news, so keep that in mind. Not that the story is what really matter in such an impressive game ;)

You won't always be stalking grimy warehouses and dreary cities in Killzone 2 according to Guerrilla Games Q&Q Manager Seb Downie. While this isn't a big deal for me, it will be a nice change of pace to perhaps experience some environments with a little more life in them. This ties in with previous info from EGM's August issue preview, saying that some levels will show the natural beauty of Helghan.

"Scandinavian publication GameReactor has posted the cover art for its forthcoming December issue, revealing an intriguing new concept art for Killzone 2's Helgast enemies.

No details are given on what their 10-page cover story will entail, but the cover itself artwork for a never-before-seen Helgan Hybrid, which you can see below."

No Sony didn't decide to be nice and release the game a month early. But December 4th is a interesting day for Killzone 2 fans. That day will be the end of the single player embargo. So that means expect a lot of news on that day. Including seeing a new build of the game (can it look any better?) a much more indepth look at the single player, new environments and maybe even a new boss fight.

Some of you hate when a game eats up 3-5 Gigs of memory off your HDD. It has become a problem with some ps3 games, thankfully not all of them.
In a response a forums members question, motherh666, a killzone 2 devaloper has said that Killzone 2 will not be using any HDD installs, optional or required. Now we just have to wait see how long the waiting time is.

This is good news for people because now they can use that free space for other games HDD installs.

"Update: Sony has told CVG that the reported February 17 release for Killzone 2 still "hasn't been confirmed", but went on to say: "We are still tracking a February release for the UK, though." Update Ends

Killzone 2, one of the most anticipated PS3 games of 2009, will be out on February 17, according to reports.

Sony has yet to announce a precise date, the current official word pencilled in as "February," but a recent GameSpot video blog claims Guerilla Game's flagship shooter will be o..."

"…while the actual graphics themselves aren’t really a generation beyond anything we’ve seen recently in terms of geometry or textures, I think it’s the handling of those visuals that makes it truly stand out. The motion blur, the post-processing, the lighting, the shadows, the animation of your player’s movements… all of it is geared towards a closer emulation of reality."

Killzone 2 is shaping out to be an amazing game. And a few people on neo where able to get into the beta. For the rest of us, we are stuck watching video's. And if this video doesn't make you want to get the game, then I don't know what will. Its a great quality video with no framerate drops and in HD unlike the other beta videos released.

Here is something interesting that I found while watching the video. At aproximetly 0.49 seconds into the video you see the player gun down another play...

"Some of you may have already caught a glimpse of it, but here it is anyway: the official design for the Killzone 2 box cover!

Please note that this design is intended for Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) territories, and that the age rating applies to all PAL markets that adopt the PEGI system for rating games.
Designs for other territories and rating systems will be unveiled soon.

Ever since its announcement way back in 2005, it's safe to say there were a lot of skeptics regarding Killzone 2's success. The original Killzone, though clearly a hit with some people, just never hit its full potential, and thus never hit the top charts. So it was reasonable people would feel uneasy regarding it. Well, Guerilla Games has assured us they're putting every bit of effort into this game that they can, and judging by past previews of the game, it seems that so far, they are doing ...

You probably all remember the infmous e3 05 killzone 2 trailer that turned out to be CGI when the public was told that it was real time. Well after that there were un reasonable expectations from Guerilla Games to prove that they can reach that level of graphics. In this gametrailers user created screenshot comparison you can see how well the game came close to looking like the CGI trailer. If not, the actual game looks better then the CGI pictures.

Sniping in Killzone 2 is going to be tad trickier than the average shooter. When looking through the scope of the sniper you have to keep the SixAxis controller steady to hold your breath, the more you tilt it the shakier your scope becomes.

Yet another tantalizing trailer for Killzone 2. According to Earth's government the invasion of the Helghast's home planet would be easy. Victory in a month, little resistance and low morale. But as the soldier says "I guess somebody forgot to tell the Helghast".

Watch the trailer at the source for 2 minutes of Hi-Def goodness.

"The holiday season is fast approaching, and we all know what that means You’ll be playing the end-of-the-year blockbuster games up until your thumbs turn red. Afterward it will be time to look for a new addition to your ever growing collection of games, and we already have you covered for some titles you will most likely want to play when the new year rolls around."

Remember how Sony promised 11 unannounced PS3 titles to feature at TGS? The same titles which have been strangely absent despite one or two here and there? Well the full list of titles has finally been revealed. And it turns out we've all been tricked, or rather tricked ourselves. You see Sony said they were unannounced titles, but never that they were new titles. These games had yet to be announced to appear at TGS, so there never really any new games to begin with, the large majority of th...

"I should point out that these are the top five games that have the most potential for being Halo, GTA IV and KillZone Killers via marketing, community support, critical praise and sales. It's possible any one of these titles could be as controversial as GTA IV, or as supported as KillZone 2, or as long lasting in popularity as Halo 3."

"For those who have followed the game for so long, probably can’t wait, but Killzone 2 will be appropriate for those just looking to tear up Helghast alongside their friends. It looks and sounds perfect, Helghan has been designed in the exact way fans would have dreamt it."

"Many gamers who did not read our Borderlands Blend articles were baffled at the comparison, and that’s completely understandable. So for the sake of everyone who doesn’t know anything about Borderlands, you can check out Blend Games Top 5 Reasons why Borderlands will be better than KillZone 2. Two games, I might add, that are scheduled to release relatively close to each other in 2009."

One lucky gamer somewhere in Europe has managed to get into the Killzone 2 beta that's going on right now. As unsurprising as that is, this gamer has also recorded and uploaded a gameplay video that's a good seven minutes long to give all of us waiting for the game's release a taste of what the graphics and gameplay are like. Unfortunately the sound from the game has either been overridden or not recorded, so we're stuck with rock music while enjoying this footage.

"Borderlands, alternatively, has lots to offer as a shooter, as an RPG, as a vehicular combat-racer and as an overall interactive experience. Yet it takes a heck of a lot to get this game noticed at all. When new interviews pop up for Borderlands, no one seems to notice. One fuzzy, who-gives-a-care screenshot will arise for KillZone 2 and the internet gaming community fills with uproarious exuberance."

Like others in the past, one Killzone 2 producer says that the PS3 has "a lot more" to offer than what's been revealed thus far. He makes comments about the PS3's several SPUs and how its power can be used to develop a truly great looking game both graphics and gameplay wise. The producer concludes that the PS3 is "futureproof," and as time progresses the PS3's full capabilities will finally come to light. Well, with that being said, will Killzone 2 be the game that begins the path to unlocki...

Yesterday, a new Killzone 2 trailer titled 'Desecration' was released and boy, does it look good! From that trailer, you can tell that game is really shaping up to be a powerhouse, with its superb graphics and destructible environments.

Killzone 2 is coming out sometime in February exclusively for the PS3, that's a game you're definitely gunna wanna look into.

"There are question marks over the level of scripted events. Guerrilla are masters of setting up the blockbuster set-piece battle, but is that enough? Can Killzone 2 better CoD4 online? The Badge system that enables you to customise character set-ups, creating hybrids of familiar classes such as Scouts, Engineers, Medics, etc. could prove revolutionary. And then there’s the four-player co-op campaign to look forward to. Now that really could be something special."

"Sony's released a handful of Killzone 2 multiplayer screenshots, as the illusive closed beta test (which we still can't get on) continues.

Online modes for the FPS sequel revolve around class-based skirmishes and support for up to 32 players.

Watching the SCE employees on our friends list play it doesn't make us jealous at all."

ThreeSpeech was able to get a hold of some new and nice lookin' Killzone 2 screenies that show a lot of detail. Check them out on the right and bottom.

Killzone 2 is a FPS being developed by Guerilla Games. Expect it to hit stores sometime in February.

"The first screenshot of the cloak suit from Killzone 2 has just plopped from Sony's loins and it's starting to get us excited about the forthcoming multiplayer beta. It's the first time we've seen the game's active camo suit in action and players who choose the Scout class in the beta (and indeed the final game) have this cloak suit at t..."

Tired of games of focusing too much on the online aspect of games and leaving the spiltscreen lacking? Luckily for those who think so Killzone 2 won't have that problem. No online? Then play with a large array of bots who are specifically designed to mimic human behaviour and have and will access all the abilities and bonuses you have. Just one more reason to get it I guess.

This might cheer up a lot of Killzone fans. If you want to play the game without having to wait until February of 2009, we might be lucky enough to get the public beta. Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein talks about Killzone being at Leipzig and at the end of the article, he mentions that the Killzone 2 beta will be coming soon.

One of the big-name games that was to appear at the Games Convention in Leipzig was Killzone 2 and woe behold, IGN have managed to get hold of the game and take a hands-on look at the game. Though the demo that they managed to look at was the same as that which was displayed at E3 2008, Guerilla Games told IGN about the various tweaks that had been made to the game since then.
