So who directed Final Fantasy X? Motomu Toriyama, Takayoshi Nakazato and Toshiro Tsuchida were the three directors on Final Fantasy X. Final Fantasy X was a great game and many FF fans loved it, same goes for Final Fantasy VII and so on. FF XII was a biggest letdown in the series..

In this week's edition of The Catch-Up, Default Prime columnist Kyree Leary takes a nostalgic look at five PlayStation 2 games that he just can't bring himself to abandon.

The video game scene has been flooded with sequel after sequel. Yet, developers have failed to bring us the next installment to some of our favorite games. Check out our list of seven games we are dying to play. Cheers!

"You may or may not know that a glitch was found in Heavy Rain that causes Madison's character model to appear naked, making the game even more scandalous than it already is. After finding this out myself and wondering which politician will be using this to fuel his next re-election campaign, I couldn't help but reflect on some of my favorite video game controversies."

According to Square Enix, the Kingdom Hearts series has topped 14 million units shipped worldwide so far since it started with the original title on the Playstation 2 in 2002.

In a recent interview with Famitsu, Tetsuya Nomura provided several new tidbits about which direction will the popular Kingdom Hearts series head off to next.

"Here, Nomura shared a surprising secret about Sora's birth. The character's original design was more beast-like -- somewhat like a mix of a lion and human. He had a tail and beast-like ears. Instead of his keyblade weapon, he used a chainsaw. These beast-like features were implemented in order to make the character match the Disney characters.

In the end, the tail was removed because Final Fantasy IX's Zidane character already had a tail. After consulting with Disney's staff, the character..."

GameDaily gives its own take at which RPG style is superior in the categories of the classic RPG, the MMORPG, the tactical RPG, the action RPG, most emotionally engaging (contains FFVII and Mass Effect spoilers), and the overall winner.

Though you might not agree with everything stated, it is an interesting read on a topic that continues to spur the interest of RPG fans.

Sony has pulled a brilliant move by re-releasing a the God of War series on Blu-Ray. Featuring HD and trophy support. The game will be released some time before the 3rd installment to help build up hype. This is a great move that a lot of other companies should follow. "The most recent game in the Kingdom Hearts series to reach the US was Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, a PS2 remake of the aforementioned GBA spin-off. With two more spin-offs on the horizon, little is known about the seemingly inevitable Kingdom Hearts III. As Kingdom Hearts is a very special series to me, I decided to put together this outline of what I'd like to see out of the third proper entry in the series. In my effort to shape this as-of-yet untold adventure, I called upon friend..."

"Since the company was founded in 1983, Squaresoft has had a reputation of making good-quality video games. Since its first title to hit the North American market (Rad Racer back in 1987 for the NES) and through today the ratio of high-quality to low-quality games has greatly skewed toward the former. The company is now known as Square-Enix thanks to a merger with animé, manga, and video game company Enix."

With Part III having been released a week ago today, Monty Oum has quickly followed it up with an official released of Dead Fantasy IV. Be sure to look out for Dead Fantasy V this time next week.

Speaking with Weekly Famitsu is their issue this week, Kingdom Hearts creator Tetsuya Nomura talked about how the Kingdom Hearts series got its start and the series now, given the recent release of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days for the Nintendo DS in Japan.

One of the more interesting things said?

quote Nomura
Actually, the first weapon I showed Disney was a chainsaw. It was this chainsaw-like weapon that I had a rough sketch of when I first showed my concepts to Disney. Everyone got this sc...

"One is a pure, bubbly and pretty-as-pink princess who rarely reveals even the skin of her ankle. The other is a sassy, sexy and no-nonsense computer program who has spent her entire existence in the nude. Within the tightly linked and extraordinarily small world of videogame voice acting, however, these two women are the exact same person."

"Everyone remembers Final Fantasy X one of the most renowned and loved Final Fantasy title out there - at least on the PS2. The games that were released after that FFXI & FFXII were good, but many didn't consider FFXI to be even part of the series (I know I didn't), and FFX-2 & FFXII got mixed feelings (though I was one that loved and enjoyed both the games, albeit I didn't like the story of either too much, the gameplay was addictive enough for me). The one thing many people bring up and reme..."

"So we walked from canceled event to canceled event all three days of the VGXPO. Finally however, something actually happened, The Cosplay Competition. There was some crap (isn't there always?), but we also saw some amazing costumes. Steve Kurtz from Cruisin' 92.1 FM MC'ed the event, and the judges were wrestler and geek Eric "The Smoke" Moran; Kevin, Joey, and Eric from the web series Fighters High; and comic book artist Ashley Woods. Pictures are being posted below and video of each person t..."

"A tipster who chooses to remain anonymous dropped us a line to let us in on a juicy little tidbit from the GameStop Expo in Las Vegas. According to the source, yesterday during Square Enix's presentation, mention was made of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for the PS2.

" Once Square-Enix was up, there was a small mention of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. When asked if it was the one that was included with Final Mix II in Japan, they confirmed it with a nod. There hasn't been any ..."

Someone who works within Square Enix has told GOONL!NE that Kingdom Hearts 3 is going through pre-development and could be revealed as soon as tonight at the DKS3713 Event or later at the Tokyo Game Show.

Please remember that this is just a RUMOR, nothing has been confirmed or denied by Square Enix as of now.

In the world of cosplaying and conventions, there are a few cosplayers who stand out from the crowd, and have become online celebrities due to their accurate depictions of video-game characters and their costumes. But is it really all just fun and games? For these "online celebrities" it can sometimes be a dangerous thing. Crazed fans often abuse, degrade and insult them simply because they are dressed as a character that they don't like.
