"GamingUnion: "In honour of Final Fantasy XIII-2's release this past week, we've decided to compile a list of our ten favourite Japanese role-playing games for the current home console / handheld generation. While things have been tough in general for Japan as of late, there have been a numerous titles to truly capture the spirit of a JRPG and pushed the genre in new directions."

"Frankly, 2010 was a pretty big year for gaming. Kinect and the Move opened the door to motion sensitive gaming for Microsoft and Sony respectively (though neither of which are on the list), and we experienced some amazing sequels as well as some brand new titles. We wanted to share what we think you should dash down to your store for if you find it's missing from your collection."

"In order to best present our favorite games, we are forgoing the traditional Top X Games of 2010. This is restrictive and divisive and doesn’t allow us to spotlight all the games we like, all in effort to create an artificial hierarchy. Instead, alphabetically, here are all the games we enjoyed from 2010."

Amazon is discounting several big-named role-playing games, mostly originating from Japan, in their latest “17 Days of Deals in Video Games” deal.

"A disney RPG hardly sounds appealing to a gamer over the age of 12. Something about wielding a giant key as a weapon, while you fight alongside Donald Duck and Goofy just doesn't strike most as something that is going to be a rewarding experience. These people could not be any more wrong with these thoughts. So what is it that makes the Kingdom Hearts games great? Why I thought you'd never ask."

"Some remakes just shouldn't have been made in the first place. If you ever have the chance, don't check out Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop. Probably one of the worst remakes I've ever had the misfortune of seeing. A remake of the excellent 360 version, and built from the ground up for the Wii, Chop Till You Drop does everything wrong. The ability to take photographs was completely removed (which is odd, considering that the protagonist, Frank West, is a photographer...), the amount of zombie..."

The NPD sales results for three popular games (Dead Rising 2, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep and Metroid: Other M) during the month of September have been revealed.

You can rest easy however, as the latest small screen entry is much better than its predecessors.""

Needless to say this series has actually received a loyal fanbase along with much praise from critics. The series has also spanned through many systems such as the Playstation 2, Gameboy Advance, and the Nintendo DS. The newest title Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep not only reaches a new system, but it is also a prequel and not a side story ..."

"Will there be a BBS: Final Mix?

No plans at the moment. Though after seeing the new trailer Japanse fans are arguing about the extras we are getting in the West. But at the same time he isn't sure how many of them could actually stand the difficulty."

In a recent interview with Famitsu, Tetsuya Nomura provided several new tidbits about which direction will the popular Kingdom Hearts series head off to next.

"Zack Fair, from Final Fantasy VII and Crisis Core, will make an appearance in Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. Like Cloud Strife, he’s in the Olympus Colosseum. The scan from Shonen Jump shows Ventus and Zack as friends while Zack clashes with Terra.

When Terra (the character who looks remarkably like Zack) and Zack settle their differences they can team up for a Dimension Link attack called “Heroes Pride.” Dimension Link attacks are sort of like summons. You can link up with characters fro..."

"The wait for Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep isn’t too long. Square Enix set January 9, 2010 as the date for the Kingdom Hearts prequel and released a new batch of screenshots.

Birth By Sleep has new worlds (Stitch, Cinderella) and characters like the mustached fellow below. His name is Master Eraqus and Japanese blogs and forums are buzzing that he is a tribute to Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of Final Fantasy. Seems like a harsh tribute considering Master Eraqus, another keyblade user, ..."

While I think Square Enix are getting kind of greedy to be forcing people to buy a book to learn info about their titles I'm sure most fans won't matter. On Amazon Japan a second Cloud book is up, to be released on December 12th, already announced to be packed with screenshots, art and info on all the games and products mentioned below. Let's hope its actually something substantial this time, rather than the tiny fragments we usually get.

Yes the impossible has happened, someone has actually managed to sneak a video out of the Square Enix closed Mega Theater and live to tell the tale. The bootlegger caught footage of Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, The 3rd Birthday and even a bit of Dissidia on tape, so sit down and have a watch if you have even a passing interest in any of these titles. Download them if you want to keep them, Square Enix will likely go on a crusade to make sure the public continues...

"IGN;

The demo began in a forested area with Terra calmly walking through into a clearing. As is usual for a Kingdom Hearts game, creatures -- very similar to the Heartless in appearance -- sprung up from the ground and threatened Terra. These creatures were much quicker then the normal Heartless and are animated extremely well to be twitchy and nervous in appearance. Soon after the creatures appear and Terra mutters a few lines nonchalantly, the battle begins.

Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days will apparently be released in Summer of 2008 if the indications in Jump Festa are correct. Roxas seems to have the ability to travel through worlds. Familiar Disney and Square Enix faces will also be in store, as expected.

An interesting sight in the Jump Festa showing of Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days was that of Axel and Roxas being assisted by a mysterious new character. Unfortunately, the identity is still puzzling until now.

Meanwhile, Kingdom Hearts: Birth...

EGM have dedicated a page of this month's issue to the fairly large array of Final Fantasy games that have recently (and not-so-recently) been announced, yet haven't had much information divulged since then. The magazine tried their best to piece together what little info has been released.

It's a shame that one-and-a-half years have passed since Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII were announced, and yet fans still don't know much about the game's details, let alone the chara...

The combat system is a mixture of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories with its chart system, and the traditional controls of Kingdom Hearts.

Famitsu have managed to get themselves information on a yet unrevealed Kingdom Hearts title. The scan includes images unseen before. Could this be Kingdom Hearts Zero?

It's not Kingdom Hearts III, but details have been spilled on the whole new series mentioned awhile ago. It is planned to be on the portable systems; DS, PSP, and mobile phones. It is a side-story of Sora's tale, along with a focus on some other aspects such as how Mickey got his key, what happened while Mickey and Riku where in the World of Darkness, and the person that is Roxas. All are exciting places for a story, revealing things that were previously an enigma.
