Some of Valve's most popular games are now available for purchase and download via Gamestop's Impulse PC digital download service. This is very rare as Valve has never allowed any of their titles to be published by other digital retailers. These titles include Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, Portal 2, The Orange Box, and Half-Life Complete. Despite these titles being available on Impulse, users will still need to register the games through Valve's Steam service in order to play them. With Impulse...

Valve has just updated new information regarding the next DLC for their hit series, Left 4 Dead. Left 4 Dead 2 will not be receiving any normal campaign, instead this will be the first community made campaign to be officially released by valve on BOTH PC and Xbox 360. If that weren't enough they are also going to port the remaining maps from L4D1 over to L4D2.

Cold Stream is being developed by Mathew Lourdelet, the same man who made another community campaign, "2 Evil Eyes" for L4D2.

You heard it right! An upcoming LFD2 DLC will include the final three maps from LFD! All your classic zombie-assaulting gameplay, packaged in that fresh, fresh LFD2 spitter smell.

There's more than that though - click through for details!

"Developers all over town are SLASHING prices this Halloween - you could say that these games are SO CHEAP IT'S SCARY. (Please don't hurt me...) What I'm trying to say here is that Halloween's an excellent time for the cheap or thrifty to grab something new!"

Raptr analyzes one of the most interesting exchanges of gaming achievements between Capcom's Dead Rising series and Valve's Left 4 Dead. Both games require gamers to kill well over 53,000 zombies to earn a coveted achievement that only 2-4% have gotten. However after checking all the numbers on Raptr, another gaming franchise has entered into the mass zombie-killing achievement discussion as well.

Recent fascination with fan-made games have led TK-Nation's Cassandra Khaw to the discovery of this adorable retro de-make of Left 4 Dead. While old news for some, it doesn't stop the de-make from being awesome nonetheless.

"Valve today announced that their latest DLC, 'The Sacrifice' is due out on October 5th. The downloadable content will be released for Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 at the same time. The sacrifice is a prequel to the previous 'The Passing' which was released earlier this year."

"Valve has announced new additions for the co-op and competitive survival-horror Left 4 Dead series (yes, both of them!). The Sacrifice, currently in development for both L4D and L4D2, can be expected for release on October 5, 2010.

Valve issued the following statement..."

"This week's Xbox Live Deal of the Week is DLC for the co-op zombie survival shooter, Left 4 Dead. Crash Course is on sale this week for 360 MS Points ($4.50). This is a 36 percent discount over the normal 560 MS Point ($7) price."

"We’ve only got about five more months before Valve announces Left 4 Dead 3 (and only about ten before they release it).** While Left 4 Dead 2 is wonderful in a million and one ways that more than tickle my fancy, I still have some suggestions that could essentially make for that hallowed “perfect game” all the kids are begging for.

Perfect game maker machine GOOOOOOO!!!"

The second DLC pack for Left 4 Dead was given an official release date by Valve, September 29th. It will be free of charge for PC gamers and anyone hoping to pick it up on Xbox 360 will be charged, albeit a smaller fee than normal, 560 points. Celebrate my birthday and the release of the new content(9/29) by downloading and playing online with me.

It's kind of like a Mr. Bean movie; he has good intentions but always seems to still get the raw end or trip over himself or be tripped over by someone else, in this case Microsoft. They have every right to charge for DLC on the marketplace, but we all know the majority don't care about anything other than complaining, so prepare for more hatred against Valve (and more hatred against the hatred against Valve) because the upcoming DLC (Crash Course) for the 360 version will cost 560 MS points ...

Left 4 Dead has been marked down yet again, this time to $30.00. The game includes the Survival Pack, as well as Authoring Tools in the Game of the Year Edition. The Left 4 Dead - Four Pack was marked down to $89.00.

Molotov Cupcake of Spawn Kill gives a brief glimpse at the new DLC coming to Valve's smash zombie hit Left 4 Dead. Controversial because of the upcoming sequel that many think is being released entirely too soon, this new content gives fans and players of the original title some hope.

"Major Nelson has posted the LIVE Activity list for the week of July 6th, and it is very surprising. As you can see from the title, Battlefield 1943 has accomplished something only once done before with Castle Crashers.

Despite initially having server issues, EA overcame that hurdle right away and it seems to have pleased gamers. Battlefield 1943 has cracked the top numbers for disc based games, taking out Rock Band 2 from the list completely. I am not sure how long this will last, but with..."

"It was also stated that the announcement of Left 4 Dead 2 at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles last month was not intended to signify the end of Valve’s support for the first title, which is suggested to be set to continue after the release of the second game this November."

"Well another month down and higher on the scale OXCGN goes. And with events like this, who can blame players for wanting to join in. MS Xbox-Div Australia has just launched its revamped Community Pages here in Australia and with it, the introduction of the excellent Community Playdates.

Our second for us this year is to be held on Friday 10th April @ 8pm - 11.00pm AEST with the nerve rackingly fast paced - Left 4 Dead. WARNING Will Robertson - warning!! - this is not a game to play by your..."

"Valve has revealed that a new patch is now available for the Xbox 360 version of Left 4 Dead. Like a similar update made available for the PC not too long ago, it contains a number of bug fixes and tweaks for Versus mode:"

The recently announced Left 4 Dead DLC which is survival mode and 2 new campaigns, will be free for both Xbox360 and PC. This is great news for owners of the game as they get a brand new mode which will add more playability to this multiplayer game for absolutely nothing.

"A few details on the Survival Pack DLC for Valve's multiplayer zombie shooter Left 4 Dead have squeaked out following its cryptic announcement last week.

A new Survival mode will see "up to four player set records for the longest time surviving hordes of zombies on over 12 maps," according to word from GameTrailers TV."

"Valve announced plans to update its co-op zombie shooter Left 4 Dead (PC, X360) today, revealing that a "Survival Pack" will be released this spring.

The DLC will include a new multiplayer mode titled Survival, as well as two complete campaigns for the game's existing Versus Mode. No details regarding availability or pricing were announced, but Valve traditionally updates its PC releases for free."

It would seem that retail store HMV has been taking pre-orders for a PS3 version of Left 4 Dead which they seem to think is being developed by EA and will be released on June 5th, Valve however has laughed this off.

"Many peoples selection for “Game of the Year”, Valve’s Left 4 Dead, received a free Title Update on the Xbox360 last night. After an intensive playtest, the Electronic Theatre team were left clueless as to exactly what the Title Update had done. We assumed the download had fixed some minor client-side issues..."

"It’s the eleventh day of Christmas today, and that means it’s time for the eleventh instalment in The Twelve Games of Christmas. A feature series running every day on the twelve days of Christmas here at Electronic Theatre, The Twelve Games of Christmas aims to highlight the top performers of 2008 month-by-month, and help you decide what you should be picking-up in those January sales!"

Ever wonder what the zombie thriller Left 4 Dead would have looked like 20 years ago? Well in a competition to make something in Java under 4 kilobytes, Markus Persson re-created Left 4 Dead.

A nice quick and to the point write up from Primotech that includes all the winners from the show on top of some random news blips (such as Pearl Jam's full album Ten coming to Rock Band, Brutal Legend confirmed for 2009, GTAIV DLC trailer, Gears 2 maps coming, Fight Night Round 4 coming 2009). See quote for full list of winners, go to source to see some more news from the event.

"Apparently, Valve has patched Left 4 Dead game servers to disallow the recent cheating to continue. Clever gamers figured out how to access the game console and alter values while playing. This resulted in all manner of craziness from invulnerability to players looking 1000 feet tall. Seriously, check out the vid below..."

"If Half-Life and its sequel spelled the advent of the videogame sense of the cinematic, capturing the filmic while never using its exact form, then Left 4 Dead runs with developer Valve’s legacy to uncultivated territory. On the surface it’s what you’ve come to expect, with perfectly placed spectacle and the crescendos in pace to match. But Left 4 Dead also takes that cinematic inheritance a logical step further, by slyly inserting an omniscient Director who puppeteers and schemes to abash yo..."

Valve has just flagged Left 4 Dead as alive (as it can be) and playable on Steam. It has been available for pre-load and pre-purchase for a while now but it is now officially playable. For those of you living under a rock, Left 4 Dead is a co-op shooter built around the situation of 4 human beings attempting to survive a zombie apocalypse.

It seems Steam, the popular gaming client/application is taking a leaf out of Microsoft's book for its upcoming update. Steam Cloud will allow users to upload game saves, screenshots, and other footage - which isn't all that unlike what players can currently do in games such as Halo 3 on the 360.

This release will coincide with the release of the highly anticipated zombie shooter Left 4 Dead on November 6th.

Gears 2 is almost upon us, and so are several other great games, but one has to asks ones self, is Gears 2's MP up to the current line-up of intense fire-fighting Multiplayers that are coming out at the same time. COD 4 pulled it from top of the pile and kept it off, could Left 4 Dead do the same with it's full-on frantic co-operative MP aspects? And COD 5 is just around the corner . . .

The new Zombie thriller from Valve, Left 4 Dead, has been selling out more pre-order copies than the hit The Orange Box. People that pre-order Left 4 Dead will be able to get their hands on a demo of the game a week earlier than the rest of the Steam community would be able to play ( November 11 ).

Valve is also holding a Left 4 Dead contest where the game will be given out to 25 winners, and the grand prize is a new computer build by AMD. To enter, you just need to take a photo of you a...

Over at the Cinema Make-up School in LA, the web series titled 'Monster Makeover' lets you watch some talented artists turn people into horrible creatures that are found in video games. In the first video, they are using Left 4 Dead.

After each episode is put up, everyone has a chance to enter the 'Spine-Tingling' Sweepstakes, which gives you a prize package that includes an Elite version of the 360.

Looks like Microsoft is just in time for Halloween.

Doug Lombardi has sent the guys over at Halflife2.net the PC system requirements for Left 4 Dead. It wasn't mentioned if this is the minimum or recommended system requirements but it looks to be the minimum.

The Team Fortress 2 team has been helping the Left 4 Dead staff work on their multiplayer by incorporating many of the things they learned while developing TF2.

Some of the things improved/finished:

  • Critical hits
  • Respawn waves
  • Auto-team balancing
  • Facestabs

Yes - you read correctly - facestabs...

Oh dear...

Turtle Rock Studios and Valve's next hit zombie game, Left 4 Dead had a release date of Nov 4th. Gabe Newell confirmed that date has slightly been pushed back a bit to Nov 20th, the anniversary of Half-Life.

To help perk up your spirits with this delay, Gabe also mentioned during GC 2008 that there will be a demo.

In the recently weeks there has been speculation revolving around Valve's up and coming 360/PC title Left 4 Dead in the view that there was going to be a port version arriving to the Playstation 3 via EA.

However today it seems there has been an announcement from Valve's Doug Lombardi for which has ended all current reports on the idea of there being a Playstation 3 port as he has stated: "There is no PS3 version of Left 4 Dead currently in production"!

In a recent but rather small article by OPM this week it seems like the Xbox 360 and PC title Left 4 Dead will be make its way over to the Playstation 3 but only as a port.. but furthurmore they have claimed that they believe Electronic Arts (who done the Orange Box port...) will be taking up the helm to port it over to us PS3 Users.

Don't we feel so lucky?

The QuakeCon, which is held in Dallas, had a lot of third-party games that were missing compared to last year, which featured Left 4 Dead and World in Conflict. Activision, Dell, Intel, and ATI were all at QuakeCon this year, but nothing has popped up about PC or console games. There were several banners put around with the World in Conflict: Soviet Assault logo on them, but the game wasn't even at the show because Activision Blizzard dropped it. There were other games that weren't there too,...

Popular Gaming Magazine PSM 3 have unleashed another round of rumors on the Internet concerning the PS3. Among there list is that both Sims 3 and Left 4 Dead will be coming to the PS3, IO Interactive is working on a new Hitman game, the 360's exclusive DLC for GTAIV will be coming to the PS3 6 months down the track and many more. Some of these mirror rumors from other sites so perhaps a couple of them are true.

"Following confirmation from GDC that there were no plans in place to bring zombie shooter Left 4 Dead to PS3, Valve’s Doug Lombardi has said that no fat lady’s sung on a Sony port yet.

“If folks want to do a PS3 version, we’re open to talk with third parties about that,” he said.

The game is currently scheduled for release on PC and 360 only."
