NoobFeed.com reports about the current going ons at Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment. The WBIE will be releasing a ninja expansion to their LEGO Universe MMO, have set a release date for Harry Potter 5-7, but will unfortunately delay the PC version of Batman Arkham City. No worries for the console version though.
"It’s been announced that LEGO Universe, the massively-multiplayer online game based on the brick-building toy, will be going free-to-play. This is a welcome piece of news to fans that have been hesitant to try the game. Come August, the game will be available free to download, allowing more gamers to play with those iconic blocks, online."
"“Kids don’t usually get new computers; they get their parents’ old computers. So our target market may be playing on computers that were manufactured three, four or five years ago. We are also able to run well on netbooks,” he says. “We’ve made that a priority because they are starting to come to a price point that is very affordable for families.”"
LEGO Universe will be available to founders on October 12, 2010. Founders are customers that purchase the game via the LEGO Online Shop or LEGOLAND. The MMO will be available at standard retail outlets on October 26, 2010.
"Players will be able to head to the "pet-taming world" to start their companion journey. You'll have the choice of over 20 pets to tame, and once you've picked one it's time to start training it. For example, you'll be able to teach your pet to "speak," bow, or follow you around."
"The pre-order details and date have been announced for LEGO Universe, the casual MMORPG from the LEGO Group.
Pre-orders will begin on Friday, May 14th. Players who pre-order LEGO Universe will receive an exclusive, LEGO Universe mini-figure (aka "mini-fig"), worth approximately $3, and a special code to unlock the related in-game accessory."
