"They were hyped, they were highly anticipated, they were meant to be GREAT. But they simply disappointed the fans and therefore were thrown in the bucket of shame. Ladies an gentleman, read on to find out the titles of the 10 most disappointing computer games of 2009!"
"Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust is not an unattractive game. Though the visual design may be somewhat bland in certain areas, the limited amount of central characters do emit a great deal of personality. As with much of the game, each of the characters may just as well have “bad” or “good”, “smart” or “dumb”, “slutty” or “frigid” tattooed across their forehead as much as giving them the familiarising lines of trite dialogue, but once again, long-time series fans will be fully prepared for..."
Nothing huge to speak of this week, though a few things out of the ordinary have turned up, like Crysis: Maximum Edition, which houses the original Crysis, side-story Crysis Warhead, and the latter game's multiplayer mode Crysis Wars.
Besides that, Wii owners are treated to a remake of the solid platformer Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, and DS owners can experience the classic Jagged Alliance, a Fallout/Shadowrun-ish game which got its start on PC many years ago.
Dance Dance Revolution Disney Grooves, anyone?
Pretty shoddy release list this week, unless you feel like giving those Metallica arseholes more money.
Tokyo Beat Down on the DS is probably the only real highlight, though Gardening Mama could be uh, fun, and stuff.
There's also Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust on the PC and 360, though that series has been cheesed out since the last iteration..but perhaps this one will be different. With Carmen Electra and Tom Arnold on the voice ...
"Developed by Team17 and laden with illustrious voice talent from Hollywood’s glamorous glitterati, players will meet and interact with outrageous characters like Ginger Vitus (Carmen Electra: Starsky & Hutch) and Hugh Jassdick (Tom Arnold: True Lies, ER, Roseanne) as they tackle exploration, Platforming, Racing, puzzle-solving and seduction challenges to get the girls and save the studio."
"Offering a grin-inducing pastiche of that infamous (and award-winning) Gears of War trailer, Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust’s launch trailer delivers the wit and charm, and tongue-in-cheek adolescent behaviour, that we’ve all become accustomed to from the hopelessly desperate Leisure Suit Larry."
"Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust sees the eponymous amorous hero spending his vacation working on his uncle’s film studio as he tries to make a name for himself in Tinseltown. However, while working on the movie lot, Larry stumbles upon a plot from another studio that threatens to air the studio’s dirty laundry in the tabloids – now it’s his job to save the day and the reputation of his uncle’s studio."
