Lost Planet 2 was a good game but could have used a lot of improvements. If done right this game can bring the fans of this series an improved and exciting game. Hopefully the early release date doesn't mean a short and unpolished game. But it could have been being worked on for a long time by now seeing as it has only just been announced. I guess we will just have to wait and see!

The sequel to Lost Planet 2 has finally been announced, but it's under the development watch of Spark Studios, who last worked on the lackluster Legendary and Turning Point.

"We all know that Massive Multiplayer Online games are becoming bigger and bigger and many top-notch publishers are cashing in on the MMO market, whether it’s free-to-play or pay-to-play. But gamers would probably love it if they were able to play a few specific MMOs from some of the biggest franchises out there, hence here’s a list of the top 5 franchises that would be huge as MMOs."

"Capcom has developed and published many great titles for more than 20 years now. Among these titles are popular fan favorites Street Fighter, Dead Rising, Lost Planet, and many more. This week, Capcom is having a sale for PC games with many titles at least 50% off their listed price."

GoozerNation's Brock Poulsen and some friends take down some giant Akrid, and Brock takes a look at the current bargain-bin treasure, Capcom's Lost Planet 2.

"The biggest offender is the Call of Duty series. $15 for 3-4 multiplayer maps. That just makes me laugh, then I get sad because there are people out there that actually buy it. And that is the reason why they charge that price. They KNOW they can get it because the same people will mindlessly open their wallets and snag the new content. (Just a quick mini rant on Map Packs in general. A rant inside a rant? Talk about mind blowing. Depending on how a map pack is implemented it can completely r..."

"If you were one of the many who skipped out on Lost Planet 2 on consoles, and thought about picking it up on the PC, I can tell you that for the most part, the game is unchanged, which, by large, is the main issue with the port."

"Lost Planet 2 - Xbox 360 - $19.99 (50% off)

Lost Planet 2 - PS3 - $19.99 (50% off)

Dead Rising - Xbox 360 - $11.64 (42% off)

Super Street Fighter IV - Xbox 360 - $24.36 (39% off)

Super Street Fighter IV - PS3 - $23.79 (41% off)

"Target, Toys R Us and Best Buy are all offering deals this week meant to get shoppers to make multiple purchases. Meanwhile, K-Mart is offering a hot deal on Mafia II releasing this week and a similar deal on Red Dead Redemption."

Capcom released new screenshots of Lost Planet 2 in action on the PC. The PC release is set for fall of this year, so it should be coming soon. For now we have these shots to hold us over.

"Capcom has just announced that Lost Planet 2 will be releasing on the PC October 15th. The PC version will feature NIVIDIA 3d Vision, water surfaces that react realistically, smoke has volume and depth, along with levels and characters that are rendered with more detail then console counter parts."

All Age Gaming's John Elliott brings us the 10th developer profile. This time he looks at the Street Fighter and Resident Evil series developer Capcom. See inside for a look into this renowned developer.

Capcom has revealed the first quarter sales results for there three high-profile releases of the past three months: Lost Planet 2, Super Street Fighter IV and Monster Hunter Tri.

"NPD delayed their North American video game sales results for a couple of weeks while they upgraded their systems. When they finally did release them last night, it was to general disappointment as the games industry saw a drop in sales by 5% compared to May of 2009 and so far is down 10% for the year so far compared to January. Outside of Red Dead Redemption for the PS3 and Xbox 360, no publisher or console had much to crow about for the month of May. However, these five games were partic..."

All Age Gaming's Danny Yee takes a look at the Playstation 3 version of Capcom's Lost Planet 2. Is Lost Planet 2 a worthy sequel to the somewhat under appreciated original? Read on to find out.

"Lost Planet was a very well received game, both commercially and critically. It did, however, have some major flaws such as annoying camera angles, a confusing story and game play that became boring and frustrating at times due to a nonsensical control scheme. Lost Planet improved a few things in the graphics category and is an all around playable game. However, no one at Capcom seems to have taken the complaints about Lost Planet into consideration when developing the sequel. The result is m..."

"Trophy whores won't be able to sell their game back... or will they?

Electronic Arts is making used game buyers purchase access tickets to go online with their games. Capcom has a simpler solution to curb used game revenue loss -- keep games from being sold back to shops in the first place... at least for a few months."

"A thrifty gamer is a happy gamer so we've scoured the Sunday ads to find the best video game deals for this week from local stores for the Playstation 3, PSP, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, and PC for the week of May 23, 2010."

"Almost every boss is identical in it’s execution: find the glowing orange spots on it’s body (protip: on it’s legs), then just keep shooting it until it doesn’t glow anymore. Try not to die.

This was what really killed the game in my eyes. The entire premise seems so good in theory, but is absolutely dull in practice."

"Red Dead Redemption wannabe owners should keep an eye out on their local Toys R Us this Tuesday as they will have a $25 Gift Card available with purchase of the game. However, the deal is time limited and you have to be a Rewards R Us member. K-Mart and Amazon also are offering Gift Cards for this game."

"Blowing stuff up is often insanely fun, chiefly thanks to some suitably epic weapon design, and though environments aren't nearly as explosive as they should be, the sheer amount of mayhem going on simultaneously gives Lost Planet 2 a suitably frenetic, kinetic feel. You won't play a shooter this year packing anything like as much simultaneous mayhem, with players screaming down their headsets, blasting, dying, and killing all around you.

Visually, the game marries imaginative character, m..."

"For those of us who are now stepping into exam time, you’ll discover that your gaming habits will have to change or else the marks that once made your folks proud will suffer an astounding blow and put you in your parents bad books."

In every game mode, including the 16-player online multiplayer, players can customize their characters with weapon upgrades, various abilities, various taunts, and character parts."

This weeks edition of Now Shipping will bring a return and sequel extravaganza. Skate 3, Lost Planet 2 and much more. Check out what the second week of May has to offer.

May is shaping up to be the biggest gaming month yet in 2010 aside from March. Here are the top ten most anticipated games slated for release thus month.

Capcom revealed their sales projections for some of their most anticipated games: Dead Rising 2, Monster Hunter Freedom 3, Lost Planet 2 and Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

It's been kind of weird to see a lack of releases on the Wii and DS the last couple of weeks. Really not much there. Of course, it has also been odd to see the number of new releases on the PS3 and 360 during a time of year that typically doesn't get much in the way of games period. Spring is the new Christmas!

"The combined celebrity and community tournament is the final chapter in Capcom’s month long “Kill Big for Charity” campaign where community members were called into action to support a good cause."

"The Playstation Store gets an impressive update today with a plethora of quality games and DLC for the PS3 and PSP. Not only does the update include great new stuff to play but also MLB.tv which was announced earlier today."

"Capcom is inviting everyone to "Kill Big for Charity" with the release of the Lost Planet 2 multiplayer demo to everyone on the Xbox 360 via Xbox Live today. The demo was previously only available to those that were able to snag a download code from Capcom. However, today the demo is available to all on the Xbox 360 and will be available to PS3 owners via the Playstation Network on Thursday."

"The maps are "Helix", an underwater research facility which utilises the game's new swimming features, and "Back to the Island", which is a tweaked version of Island 902 from the original game."

"A new video from Capcom goes 'behind the game' of Lost Planet 2 to talk about what the Akrid are and how the ecosystem of the planet EDN III has changed since the first Lost Planet game. The video features director Kenji Oguro and producer Jun Takeuchi sharing some knowledge about the background of the game world."

"Elimination is a different affair, and despite reservations over the control physics, I had a lot more fun just duking it out with hostile Snow Pirates online. If Turbulent Jungle does show off one thing apart from the pretty graphics, it’s Lost Planet 2’s ingenious use of both horizontal and vertical warfare. Players can pin themselves to walls, ledges and even ceilings to set up ambushes, which results in some rather frantic action when you load up a server with 16 players at once."

"The storyline is broken into episodes with each having self-contained chapters, which are then broken into the brief missions. Many of the missions in the first three episodes were completed within 2-10 minutes, so with a count of three missions per chapter or so, each chapter ranges from 15-30 minutes in length. On top of that, players will use different default characters for each episode, so Capcom made sure that the players are thrown into different scenarios around every bend."

A brand new trailer has been released for Lost Planet 2. Mimicking much of the action movie type trailers we see in cinemas, this trailer makes the game look bad ass. As if the game is worth your money, thats up to you to decide, but Lost Planet fans are sure to be happy with what they see in this new trailer. Check it out after the jump!

"The old adage of “bigger and better” is being applied to Capcom’s Lost Planet 2. It’s as if they entered a no-holds-barred match and came away learning from their successes and mistakes from the original. There’s no denying it – Lost Planet 2 holds a high amount of intrigue due to its one of a kind gameplay."

Lost Planet 2 will be releasing this May and a demo is planned for Xbox and PS3 in late April. Early access codes are being released for March 31st on Xbox, April 1st on Playstation 3.

"Capcom is ramping up the hype for its upcoming sci-fi shooter, Lost Planet 2, and have put out two new videos to cover the game's mechs called "Vital Suits". The first video shows how some Vital Suits can transform into different modes. Some, like the Triseed, have three modes of transformation."

"A new Lost Planet 2 demo is coming our way next week on XBL and the PSN. Get ready to grab some weapons, hop in a vital suit, and battle with 16 players in real time. Featuring the “Turbulent Jungle” map from the online versus mode, the new demo will include full chat support and stat tracking."

"Capcom's upcoming game, Lost Planet 2, features creatures called "Akrid" that come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Some Akrid are small, some are big, and some are massively massive. The latest trailer for Capcom shows off the monsters from E.D.N. III that players will be battling."

"With Super Street Fighter IV confirmed for release on Friday, April 30th 2010, and Lost Planet 2 just a few weeks later on May 18th, Capcom Europe has decided it is time to reveal some of the great pre-order incentives that will be available to European and Australian gamers plus some other great Lost Planet 2 news."

"Lost Planet 2 returns players to E.D.N. III a decade after the events of the first game. Offering a deeper insight into the uncertain future of mankind, players will progress through six interconnected episodes that are said to evolve dynamically dependant on the player’s actions in each previous chapter. Lost Planet 2 will allow for up to four players to team-up and take it to the Akrid in specially designed co-operative levels. Teamwork is the player's key to victory as the team is dependen..."

"Here, in no specific order, are 10 things you need to know coming out of X10 today:
• The Halo Reach multiplayer beta will kick off on May 3. You will be able to access the beta via the Halo 3: ODST game disc.
• Dead Rising 2 will release in North America on Aug. 31, Japan on Sept. 2 and Europe on Sept. 3.
• Dead Rising: CASE ZERO an exclusive download only on Xbox LIVE, will launch prior to the full game and provide a playable prologue that bridges the story between the two titles.

"Microsoft's very own Major Nelson just tweeted a couple hints at what games we can expect to see on the show floor of it's press-only event tomorrow night, known as X10 - the list has a couple surprises in it and is not all-inclusive. His tweets, along with our guesses of what each game in the list stand for is below; did we crack the correct code? We have been told that there are other titles, not on this hint-list, that will be announced at tomorrow's event."

Watch Tobin and Yuzo from NooBTooB preview all the games slated to come out between now and April.

Keep in mind they don't cover every game. Just those they deem will be either good or interesting.

"I’m not a massive fan of Street Fighter (Mortal Kombat is my preferred fighter) and Lost Planet 1 never really grabbed my attention to experience it as there were plenty of other great games out at the time of its release, so my initial expectations upon walking into the room which THQ had set up last week to profile their upcoming games, Lost Planet 2 , Super Street Fighter IV, MotoGP 2010 (all tested on PS3) and of course Metro 2033 (tested on Xbox360) down at their PR Managers rooms in the..."

"Kotobukiya has announced the release of Lost Planet 2 PVC Action Figures from Capcom’s upcoming videogame Lost Planet 2 which is scheduled to be released on May 20th 2010 in Japan and May 18th 2010 in North America and Europe. Lost Planet 2 is the successor to Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, the landmark Third-Person Shooter that debuted on Xbox 360, went on to sell over 2.3 million units worldwide after its release."

Capcom has solidified their Spring release schedule by handing out release dates to Lost Planet 2 (PS3, Xbox 360), Super Street Fighter IV (PS3, Xbox 360), Final Fight: Double Impact (PS3, Xbox 360) and Monster Hunter Tri (Wii).

Apparently Capcom's Q1 2010 release schedule was too crowded and in order to avoid having the games compete with each other (and other games) they've decided space to out the releases throughout the fiscal year. As a result of this, Super Street Fighter IV, Dead Rising 2, Lost Planet 2, and the North American release of Monster Hunter Tri have all been delayed. No concrete dates have been given but you can expect these titles to be released any time between April 2010 and March 2011.

"Set a decade after the events of 2007’s 2.3 million-selling Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, Lost Planet 2 expands upon the original formula by adding the option for four-player online co-operative gameplay throughout it’s six interconnected episodes. Players will customise their avatar, and take part in a mission to seize control of the changing face of E.D.N. III."

"These fifteen new screenshots feature a team of players taking on the fearsome Akrid X, a giant, screen-filling monster not welcoming the idea of a human invasion. A number of new vehicles are showcased in the screenshots for the very first time, and those keen-eyed observers will undoubtedly have their interest piqued by the new propositions for team mobility."

"Capcom Europe has released a whole new batch of screenshots from the upcoming Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 release, Lost Planet 2. The successor to 2007’s warmly received Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is currently expected to arrive in early 2010."

"Capcom Europe has today revealed that pre-ordering the forthcoming sequel to 2007’s Lost Planet: Extreme Condition will earn gamers a very special reward. Set for release in early 2010 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Lost Planet 2 will offer deeper insight into the world of E.D.N III and the uncertain fate of future mankind."

"A demo version of Lost Planet 2 has been released today on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, allowing Xbox LIVE Gold subscribers to get a taste of the four-player co-operative gameplay. Silver members will get their chance on August 26th, though no date has yet been announced for the inevitable release on PlayStation Network for PLAYSTATION 3. The full Fact Sheet follows below, ad verbatim:"

"Next Wednesday, Capcom will be giving Xbox 360 owners a taste of Lost Planet 2's fist-bumping, bug-hunting co-operative mode by releasing a demo.

The co-op demo will let you take on the "salamander" boss, give you access to a variety of weapons and suits, then let you climb inside the thing's guts and blow it up from the inside. Messy.

The demo will go live for Gold subscribers on August 19, while Silver users will have to wait until August 26."

"And if you thought the bosses from Lost Planet were large, you have not seen anything yet. Some of the bosses from Lost Planet 2 are twenty times the size of what you found in the original. In fact, some bosses are so large you can actually fight them from inside their bodies...Eww... The demo we saw had the four players (yes, the game supports 4-player coop in the regular campaign) taking on a very large and slimy beast. Using team-based tactics, two players would shoot at the beasts protrud..."

At Capcom's Lost Planet 2 panel during Comic-Con, producer, Jun Takeuchi, slipped some information regarding the game. He revealed that they are placing some emphasis on flying in Lost Planet 2 as there will be flying vehicles available in addition to the other mechs. So you can expect to take to the skies with 3 of your friends to fight the Akrid.

"Capcom deployed some fresh screens from its upcoming sequel, Lost Planet 2, focusing on some gunplay and how blinding the game's light is. Seriously, look at the muzzle flash and the explosions in these screens and tell us that isn't the brightest thing you've ever seen in your life.

To round things out, there's also a giant Akrid to ogle, one that looks like it won't be easy to take down. Hit up the gallery below to check it out."

If you happened to enjoy the E3 demo for Lost Planet 2 that all the journalists covered, game producer, Jun Takeuchi, has confirmed that the same demo will be headed to Xbox Live for everybody else to try out. The demo will also be keeping the 4 player co-op mode, that was shown off during E3, intact. When can you expect to download the demo? All Takeuchi had to say regarding the issue was, "Soon, I guess."

Its no surprise that consumers have been getting their share of multiplayer co-op for some time. The last major titles being Gears of War 2 five player horde mode, Call of Duty: World at War zombie survival mode etc. Where those fail to make a true cooperative campaign mode exceeding two players, Lost Planet 2 will succeed. Here is a first look at what Lost Planet 2 will have to offer.

We are back from half the crew being at E3 to ... talk about E3. James and Perry tell a tale of almost getting killed while in L.A., we hit up the finer points of the three major conferences, talk about the best games, and take a little bit longer than usual to do so. Grab us on iTunes or download the mp3 directly. Enjoy!

After many conflicting reports Capcom in the form of PR director Chris Kramer has put to rest the rumors of just what is happening with Lost Planet 2. To be short the game will come out at the same time on both platforms, both PS3 and 360. Though a solid release date is still unable to be pinpointed.

According to Siliconera Lost Planet 2 might just be heading to the 360 first. They've noted that on the Japanese website of the game, they've got it listed for a Winter 2009 release, whereas, it's only got a TBA date for the PS3 version. While this doesn't necessarily mean that the game will come out later on the PS3, but signs seem to indicate that it may well be a timed exclusive.

Dark Void and Lost Planet 2 were available for demo play at Capcom's booth this year. Unfortunately, you also needed an appointment to get past their pseudo-bouncers (hard to look intimidating wearing a Capcom polo). That's where cheeky game reporters come in.

If you're curious as to what either game is about and are looking for some basic information or more in-depth impressions, here's a good place to look. See how well the flight mechanics word in Dark Void, and if you can accidental...

At Captivate 09, Capcom released two brand new gameplay videos for Lost Planet 2 and they look amazing!

Lost Planet 2 is an upcoming third-person shooter video game set to be released sometime in 2010. The game is a sequel to Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, taking place ten years after the first game. It is both developed and published by Capcom.

Lost Planet 2 was revealed to be a XBOX360 Exclusive 2 days ago, and Capcom have now released a trailer for the game which can be seen below:
