"A class action lawsuit has been filed in a US District Court in California by former Bengals and Bucs RB Tony Davis on the behalf of around 6,000 retired NFL players against Electronic Arts over Madden NFL 09. The suit claims that EA "knowingly and intentionally" used player likenesses in such a way that licensing fees could be avoided."
The NPD Group has released the top twenty software and top ten software by platform lists for the recently unveiled February 2009 sales numbers yesterday, showing the top rankings in software sales for the month. The top ten rankings for accessory sales are also available.

It has already been announced that Madden 10 will have the motto "Everything you see on Sunday, see it in Madden NFL." And with the lead designer of Head Coach 09 coming over to the Madden team, will we see more Head Coach features in the franchise mode, or possibly a Head Coach mode?
In this harsh economic time, people don't have as much money to spend, that means game companies as well. In the hopes that to gain more sales and a bigger profit, some companies might slash their prices to something lower then 60 dollars. "Sometime last week Major Nelson made a post detailing a Gillette/EA even being held on Febuary 3rd at the UCF Arena (Orlando, FL). Though on short notice, I went ahead and called into work and charged the batteries for my camera. The basic concept of the even is that the best players in EA Sports titles were to face the real life athletes in the games. It seems EA saw the fight against breast cancer which Nintendo launched earlier last month.
Rather than using a console though they're using a game, Madden NFL 09. It's said to have been one of the best selling games of the year, so they feel it's time to give a little back to the community.
Lacking in originality, the limited edition version was given the name Madden NFL 09 Pink. It's only available from Target stores for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Here is a list of the top 5 video game sales on Amazon, for week 37 in 2008. On the Wii, Mario Kart Wii and Wii fit came out on top for most regions, but beaten by One Piece Unlimited Cruise: Episode 1 in Japan. On the Xbox 360, Dead Rising, Infinite Undiscovery, and Mercenaries 2: World in Flames came out on top. Grand Theft Auto IV and Halo 3 are also up there as well. For the PS3, Metal Gear Solid 4 came out second in every region. Afrika and Grand Theft Auto IV came out top.

By now, almost all of you know that Brett Favre is now a New York Jet. All of the Madden NFL 09 covers that were shipped have Favre in a Packers uniform, so EA has given you a way to obtain the cover with Favre in a Jets jersey: All you have to do is print it out.

Madden NFL 09 had very low pre-order numbers, which caused some analysts to be concerned about the sales the new game would produce. After Stern Agee checked the retail last night, it showed that the game is up "low single digits" from last year.
Arvind Bhatia, Stern Agee analyst, also said that his firm expects the sales of the Madden series to go down 10 percent with each new game released. He did remain a little optimistic, saying that sales could end up "flattish" if the Madden series ...
Madden NFL 09 has just been released today, and along with new games, come fresh reviews for you to read. Gamespot has reviewed the 360 version of Madden NFL 09, giving it a 8 out of 10. Gamespot notes that the visual have vastly improved in 09, but the game has a hard learning curve if you're a new-comer to the series.

John Koller, the director of hardware marketing for the PSP, announced that a new Madden NFL 09 PSP Entertainment Pack will be coming out on August 12th.
