"Although one and a half members are missing for this cast, it still goes pretty well while we talk about Little Big Planet 2, Enslaved, Vanquish, Gran Turismo 5, Mafia 2, Resonance of Fate, Gal Gun, and Eve Online.

As always we cover the week in gaming news, then chat about movies including The Fighter, Tron, and Harry Potter and the Long Movie Title Part One."

With so many multiplatform and exclusive titles on the market, it can be a bit tough shopping for that PlayStation 3 owner you know. BrightHub narrows down the list and picks some of the best titles on the console so you won't have to stress out this holiday season.

"2K Games has announced that Joe’s Adventures*, the third action-infused downloadable add-on pack for the epic crime-action game, Mafia II, is now available for download worldwide from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation Network for the PlayStation 3 and Windows PC. "Gamers all over the world report that today's launch of the new DLC add-on to the game, Joe's Adventures, prompted a mandatory 3MB game patch for all users regardless of whether they own the DLC or not. Once the patch is downloaded and installed, users report that their console cannot connect to the Live Service with Mafia II loaded, and that their connection to Live is shut down as soon as they load the game when they start Mafia II already logged in to Live."

"Nolan North is someone most everyone is familiar with, despite not many people knowing his name. In fact, he has been in almost every game since 2007. Well, at least his voice has. Whether it be that cat girl-laden JRPG or a mafioso hit like Mafia II, here’s some of his “better” moments."

Gaming-centric social network Raptr recently released interesting data points on its blog discussing gamers' tendencies of Take Two's sandbox titles, Red Dead Redemption and Mafia 2. It's an interesting report comparing the linear gameplay of Mafia 2 versus the content heavy Red Dead Redemption. The results are surprising to say the least.

Actually, I'm going to list some of it anyways. No hype, just facts: We have a panel discussion on downloadable games with Adam Boyes (Beefy Media), "Eka" (Monday Night Combat), and Robert Bäckström (Bionic Commando Rearmed 2), along with an interview with FIFA 11's creative director. We also look at the future of 3D and game coverage, the history of the medkit in video games, the Akihabara arcade scene, the latest on PlayStation Plus, and much more. And of course, all of the latest reviews a...

"It might be time to call Guinness (the record keeping guys not the beer…although a cold one right now would be nice), Mafia II could very well own the World Record for most times the F-bomb has been dropped in a video game. No, by F-bomb I don’t mean ‘fuggetaboutit’."

"Any gamer who played the original game, Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven, will instantly understand the great anticipation and the happiness that the sequel, Mafia II has received from the gaming public, but if you have not played the original, you are in for quite a treat!"

OXCGN reviewer gets up-close-n-personal with La Familia in Mafia II with his latest review. For some the game is a welcome relief, and for others a bit of a disappointment. Personally I'm enjoying the game, but come and check out what this reviewer has to say about a title that has been 8 yrs in the making.

Does it make the cut - or not, come check it out and see.

"The story follows suit to a typical Mafia based movie or book, but still manages to add good twists and turns to keep it fresh and very interesting. You take the roll of Vito Scaletta; a young, poor immigrant from Italy that has come to America with his father, mother and sister in the hope to live the American Dream. Little did they know that America would be a place where money is power and power means everything!"

"Jimmy’s Vendetta, the second action-infused downloadable game add-on for the epic crime game, Mafia II, is now available for download worldwide from Xbox LIVE Marketplace for the Xbox 360,the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 3, and Windows PC."

"Did you buy and or play Mafia 2? Well, if you did and are still not satisfied with the 'stock' offering Vito brought to the table then this is your lucky loan shark day. 2K Games just released Jimmy’s Vendetta. The latest Mafia 2 DLC will put players in the shoes of, well of course: Jimmy!

The download pack includes 30 more missions and new leaderboards. If you feel like going on a 'Vendetta' against your former mob then this DLC is for perfect. Check out the trailer, oh and of course it i..."

All Age Gaming's John Elliott reviews the highly anticipated game from 2K Games, Mafia II. Does the game live up to its lofty expectations and deliver us a gaming experience we can't refuse to enjoy or is it just a wise guy we wouldn't be caught dead vouching for?

"Meet Jimmy. He’s one bad mother. If you own the PS3 version of Mafia II then you already know all about him from The Betrayal of Jimmy. Well, Jimmy’s back in all new multi-platform DLC and he’s out for vengeance in Empire Bay."

""The full cast is back together this week with Andy, David, Pat, and Nick talking about games! Games like: Mafia 2, Dead Rising Case Zero, Vanquish Demo, Final Fantasy 14, and Kane & Lynch 2.

We will also answer an e-mail question, chat about the movies Scott Pilgrim and Inception. Also, just because we can, we will talk about dreams. What do they mean?""

""The original Mafia was a fine example from the fledging days of the sandbox genre. Releasing on the PC in 2002 (just a short year after Grand Theft Auto III literally invented the genre as we know it today), Mafia was a pleasant surprise that took a fine concept and crafted a period accurate world of organized crime for players to sink their teeth into. However, a lot has changed in the eight years since Mafia first launched, and now we finally have a sequel on our hands to see if the franch..."

Mafia 2 has a total of 50 Playboy Playmate magazines. This guide will help you locate all of the issues in the open-world game for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

This title has had a lot of hype behind it and a lot of people excited, find out if Mafia II is worth the excitement and how it really stacks up against other titles in the genre as well as overall.

Mafia 2 has been selling well in the United Kingdom and has shot to the top of the UK sales charts. It's the biggest seller since Red Dead Redemption.

"Jimmy’s Vendetta takes players into an alternate perspective of the mob through the eyes of Jimmy, the guy the other guys call when they need to finish the job. Players will get their hands dirty helping Jimmy clean up other people’s messes as they deal with the Italian and Irish mobsters that reside in Empire Bay."

"For a market flooded with crime based action games and sandbox/open-world games, Mafia II has lived up to its core potential of delivering a memorable period based mafia epic. With an experience that is well-rounded and executed well, the game doesn’t have many weak points aside from one chapter at the mid-point and a few small gameplay and story issues. Don’t let the 1940s setting fool you into thinking Mafia II isn’t as good as GTA as it certainly is."

"This week the absence of David does not shake BonusEXP's foundations. ZombiePie from the Giant Bomb community joins Pat and Andy this episode.

A mountain of games are discussed as usual, including but not limited to: Mafia 2, Shank, Metro 2033 PC demo, Halo 3 and Quake 1 multiplayer, Saint's Row 2, and Battlefield Bad Company. Your experience may vary. Gaming news is also discussed, as well as Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (the movie)."

"The Kill Kast is back again with Episode 15 where Rebecca, Dana, and Eric get together to discuss some new ways critics are reviewing games and much more. We chat about some games we’ve been playing, which includes Burn Zombie Burn!, Scott Pilgrim, Sam and Max, Dragon Age Awakenings and Mafia 2. We also spend a good amount of time talking about Final Fantasy 14 and its flaws along with other MMO’s. Finally we get into our main topic where we discuss the new ways in which critics are presenti..."

The recently released Mafia II might not have the plethora of side-missions that other sandbox games have recently been boasting, but the game's level of detail and authenticity is definitely the title's biggest highlight. From Playboy magazines to 1940s and 50s car models, Mafia II truly makes you feel like a mobster.

"Mafia II was well worth the eight-year wait. It offers things like great action, compelling storyline, impressive graphics, great acting and cinematic scenes and an overall captivating experience that keeps you coming back for more. Some games can offer one or two of those, but it's not everyday that a gaming masterpiece comes along. When you pick up Mafia II, realize that it's a keeper."

Here are the lists for the 48 Trophies (Playstation 3) and 47 Achievements (Xbox 360) in the open-world game, Mafia II, which was released on August 24, 2010.

"Games based around the infamous mobsters of the 1940s are few and far between, in fact there’s really only one or two I can think of, the first being the original game in the Mafia series by 2K. After almost eight years, 2K is finally releasing a sequel to the well received original which easily captures the essence of the eras it weaves through. Mafia II follows the story of Vito Scaletta and his rise through the ranks of the various mob families of Metropolis over almost a decade. The first..."

"A good mix of releases this week with Mafia II from 2K Games leading the charge on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. We've also got the Wii flying in like grease lightning with a new party game based on the classic Grease movie and the exclusive NHL 2K11."

"Target, Toys R Us and Best Buy are all offering deals this week meant to get shoppers to make multiple purchases. Meanwhile, K-Mart is offering a hot deal on Mafia II releasing this week and a similar deal on Red Dead Redemption."

After its controversy of including playboy content and being banned in Singapore, Mafia II was recently accused of racial portrayal of Italian-Americans. Unico National, the accuser of Mafia II, is an organization that defends the image of Italian-Americans and try to remove their negative idea as crime lords.

Unico National demanded to halt its release until all reference to Italian-Americans are removed.

The Senior Manager of Interactive Marketing for 2K Games responds to the numerous graphics complaints for the Playstation 3 version of the upcoming multiplatform game, Mafia II.

"Mafia II’s wannabe wise guy Vito Scaletta navigates his way through the murky world of organised crime, and discovers that nothing is quite what it seems. Incidentally that’s a caveat 2K game’s box."

"Hands on our impression. (We are restricted in what we can say until the full review is published but do check back with us it will be published closer release date.)

So that’s the preview according to the publishers but what is the actual product like when you get your hands on it?. Does it live up to the expectations?. Well yes it does and not only that, it blew them all out of the water. I should have known it would be good it’s from 2K games after all and they have yet to disappo..."

"The Mafia II demo goes live tomorrow for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. Want to know exactly when to expect the demo so you can be the first to download it? We have time windows so you can plan accordingly!"

Amazon is offering $10/$20 credit for several high-profile games coming out in August. Included in the list are Madden NFL 11, Mafia II, Metroid: Other M and more.

2K Games and 2K Czech had to develop their own game engine to make Mafia II. This latest behind the scenes video talks about what went into that.

August has traditionally been the start of an avalanche of new blockbuster video game releases and 2010 is no different. Here are the top five most-anticipated upcoming games in August.

"If my experience is any indication, Mafia II should not be mistaken for another GTA-clone. It is a linear game in open-world clothing, but that is certainly not a complaint. The four hours I spent with Mafia II were absolutely riveting. If the rest of the chapters live up to the superb storytelling and fierce gunfights, 2K is going to have an epic tale of criminal proportions on its hands."

"In the real world, nobody wants to go up against a member of the Mafia. Their ruthless and cutthroat (or shall we say cut-your-throat) tactics are positively vicious. Whether faced with the vengeance of an underboss, a soldato, or a lowly associate, the Mafia is not an organization you want to mess with."

2K Games Australia have just announced that the “Face of Playboy Swim 2010” Sheridyn Fisher has signed on as the Official Ambassador for 2K Games highly anticipated title, Mafia II.

"After playing a near final build of Mafia 2 at a private media event hosted by 2K Games in San Francisco, the game’s 1950s authenticity is its most intriguing feature. The open world action-adventure not only brings fans back to a gritty world of organized crime, but shares an engaging story that’ll have Mafia purists clamoring for more. Oh yeah, it’s got Playboys all over the place too."

Whose ready to get their crime on? Mafia II comes out at the end of August and now it has been revealed that the demo is coming on August 10 thanks to 2K Games.

"2K Games has announced that the first two action-infused downloadable content packs for its upcoming epic action crime game, Mafia II. The Betrayal of Jimmy will be available as a free download on the day the game launches."

E3 is always a huge event each year, some like it, some hate it, but no matter what, it always brings out some excellent games and showings from the different developers and their respective publishers.

The Playstation 3 is heading into the summer season with a great head of steam thanks to a great year so far. Here are the top five most-anticipated upcoming games for the system from June through August.

Xbox 360 gamers are already enjoying 2010 so far with many great exclusive and multiplatform titles. The summer releases for the system also look very promising.

Mafia II makes the jump from the roaring 20s to the 1940s and 1950s. Some old favorites return but new guns from the period make their appearance as well.

With 2010 shaping up to be the biggest in gaming history, John from All Age Gaming sat down and compiled a list of the Top 10 games in the second half of 2010 (1st July to 31st December 2010). What a year this has already been and its only getting better!

"One way it sets itself apart from GTA is the era in which it takes place. Mafia II’s environments and vehicles will change with the time as the narrative progresses. Being set in an earlier time period means things are a bit different than players might expect; characters obviously don’t have access to cell phones, weapons are less accurate, and, as expected, vehicles all control like boats. That’s more a note on the realism, not a knock on the controls, since it helps build the mood and sell..."

Andreas and Ronnie have just released a brand new episode of the onCAST video game podcast! This episode they talk about the new Greatest Hits titles coming out soon, Gears of War 3 on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Split Second, Red Dead Redemption and tons more!

Xbox Evolved posts the first developer diary video for the upcoming Mafia 2 video game. This is the first in a many planned series of video diaries describing the cinematic storytelling and more.

The latest information on Mafia 2 is the new Dev-Diary released several hours ago, come check it out, and the detailed hands-on and other media from OXCGN's time with the game at developers 2k Australia's offices last week.

The detail in the game looks well above others, and the storyline actually has some depth to it, although I see it on a different level to our previewer, and it will be interesting to see how the game does in 5 months time when it is released in August.

I'm still ama...

Today, 2K Games announced release dates for their upcoming game, Mafia II! Developed by the same creative team behind Mafia, it promises to be an exciting trip into the world of crime.

The Kartel gets some hands-on time with the follow up to Mafia, and walks away impressed with the attention to detail in recreating a dynamic open world, the improved combat experience, and seasonal weather effects.

"2K Games has today release a brand new trailer for the forthcoming Mafia II, currently in development for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Coming from the developers of the award-winning original Mafia, 2K Czech promises to expand upon the unique and often gruesome world of organised crime that captivated more than two million gamers around the world."

2K Games have released a batch of concept art images for Mafia II, featuring the game's sexy (and kinda scary) pin-up models engaged in various illegal activities...

"The sequel will be running on LS3D's successor, the Illusion Engine, and if the trailer for Mafia 2 is any indication on how it looks, it will blow what 2K Czech did with LS3D out of the water. Empire Bay looks spectacular, and the level of emotion you can see in the faces rendered by Illusion is very cool. At this point in time I would have to say that Rockstar and Liberty City can't hold 2K Czech's jock!"

Mafia 2 surprised everyone ever since the debut trailer. Once gameplay was shown and the graphics were proven to be real-time everything changed in the open world sandbox genre.

"Powered by 2K Czech’s next-generation engine built specifically for Mafia II, players will experience the true evolution of the Mafia game that defined a genre."

"2K Games has released a few new screenshots for their upcoming Mafia II. If you are not familiar with the game, Mafia II is a sandbox-style game where the player joins a crime family and makes a rise to being 'made' and maybe even higher depending on..."

Unigamesity considers 2009 to have the potential of becoming the biggest year in gaming and presents us with their list of the most anticipated PC games of the year. Check out the quote for the full listing (10 games).

While going through my financial news this morning, I came upon a nice press release from Take Two Interactive (NASDAQ:TTWO). The most interesting part was about halfway down they posted tables of their releases for the 2008 fiscal year, as well as their projected releases for the 2009 fiscal year.

Nothing that we really didn't know already, GTA: IV PC, and GTA Chinatown Wars obviously caught my eye, as well as Mafia II, Bioshock 2, and Borderlands.

Add that to their recent publishing a...

"You may have played games such as The Darkness, Hitman: Contracts, BioShock or Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II. I bet you didn’t know that Plastic Wax was one of the companies responsible for the CG work that was put into those games. Pretty spiffy work, eh?"
