Mario threw a party last night. He named it after himself. Joystick Division learned five important lessons from Mario Party. Mario learned just one: never apologize for partying.
Nintendo today revealed a new hardware sales milestone for the Nintendo Wii in the U.S. in addition to unveiling the top 10 best-selling first and third party games on the system so far.
"The important thing with all these is that you have fun! Don't force yourself into that 30th turn of Mario Party if you don't want to, just take a break and come back later. And most importantly, have a happy Cinco de Mayo!!!"
Australia gets to see its software sales for 16th of November! What topped the all consoles category? Surprisingly it's the game that's had a lot of criticism, Wii Music! Call of Duty: World at War then took second and third place on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 respectively.
Wii Music also topped the Wii section. This was followed by the popular Guitar Hero: World Tour and then the ever well selling Wii Fit.
Brain Training has done well again on the Nintendo DS taking first. MySims K...
Jason Michaels of collegehumor.com has made quite the comical article indeed. Editing the cover art for certain games, he chose ten games to murder with puns.
Some of them are pointing out rather funny truths, others are just plain rude!
Software Sales for the week ending on November 9th for Australia are in! The winner, Gears of War 2 for Xbox 360! This was followed by Smackdown Vs Raw 2009 for Playstation 2 in second and Wii Play for the Nintendo Wii in third.
Wii Play also took out top on the Wii chart, Mario Kart and Wii Fit still going strong in second and third respectively.
Nintendo DS top sellers were obviously for the more intellectual customer. Number one was Sight Training followed by Brain Training and More...

With their December 2007 report, the NPD Group has also released their Annual 2007 numbers also. As always, many thanks to the NPD Group and sonycowboy at NeoGAF for reporting and the actual numbers.

The itasha scene spills forth from Japan, but we don't recall ever seeing anything of the ilk for Nintendo characters and certainly none for gaming's best known tradesperson.
Bear witness now, as Singapore's streets have, to this road warrior's bold homage to Mario.
With a strong star t, the Wii is now in the homes of over 13 million people worldwide, and this to within a year of launch. There are currently more games being released for the Wii than that of the PS3, and in some instances than the XBOX360, however what exactly is the future of Wii games?
Take for example a game which Capcom had hoped would have done extremely well, and whilst it hasn't been a complete flop it hasn't been that successful either. The game in question is Zack & Wiki: Ques...
Hot Shots Golf 5 for the PlayStation 3 was expected to be a big hit for Sony in Japan, and it certainly didn't disappoint by making a debut at second place in Japanese charts this week with 152,000 copies sold. Yet in the end it was Mario Party that stole golf's thunder, despite being criticized as a series milked by Nintendo for all it's worth. Mario Party 8 for the Wii topped sales charts in its opening week with sales of 265,000 copies, beating the golf-themed runner up by over 110,000 u...

Hollywood Blockbuster season has taken its toll on the gaming scene this summer, and now it's the turn of expos and conferences. This week sees the arrival of the new, scaled back and invitation-only E3, and it brings with it the worst release listings run-down GamerSquad has seen for quite some time. Anyone fancy a game of Ride! Carnival Tycoon? No, didn't think so.
"As the first Mario Party game created exclusively for Wii, this new installment has sold more than 550,000 copies in the United States during the weeks following its May 29 launch.
"The overwhelming response not only reminds us how much fans absolutely love the Mario Party franchise but also proves the unmatched ability of the Wii system to attract new players," says George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications.
