The past decade had numerous titles that helped pave the current evolutions of video games today. Check out this Top 25 list of the greatest video games of the 2000s as we take a trip down memory lane and highlight some titles that have made more of an impact that you might realize.
Capcom intends to become a major international publisher by the end of the next fiscal year. Given all the titles that are being pushed back, they certainly have the resources to do so. But here's what their three-pronged strategy for success looks like.
"After much demand, we've finally wrangled up a gallery of the popular Cammy for this week's Cosplay Babe of the Week. Cammy is one of the most popular characters in the Street Fighter franchise. She originally appeared in Super Street Fighter II:The New Challengers, which was released in arcades in 1993."
"Below is a list of the top downloaded items from the PlayStation Store for the week ending October 22nd. This week Call of Duty: World at War and Fallout 3 both dominate the chart. The number one spot is occupied by the latest COD: WAW Map Pack for the second straight week. Fallout 3’s add on content has been very popular over the past few weeks. Check back each week for the lastest and most popular downloads from the PlayStation Store."
All Age Gaming's Danny Yee looks at the popular downloadable fighting game, Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Made popular on the Sega Dreamcast, does this classic stand the test of time on the PSN? Read on to find out.
It's been a while since the Sega's console the Dreamcast was put out of business, but this doesn't mean it didn't have any classic games that will always remembered. From commanding toys in Toy Commander to avenging your fathers death in Shenmue.
The console had one of the greatest game line ups ever before the Playstation 2 came and well pretty much basically crushed the party.
Anyone who doesn't know why Sega stopped supporting the Dreamcast is mostly because of piracy. With such a ...
Its been a few weeks since the release of Marvel vs Capcom 2. During E3 it was announced that Marvel vs Capcom 2 will release a Hip Hop mixtape to accompany it. Today, that mixtape has been released for the world to download for free.
Marvel vs. Capcom 2 has been out on the XBLA for nearly 2 weeks now. Its PSN counterpart was supposed to be released along with it on the same day; however, it was pushed back to an August 13 release date. So what happened? Apparently, this rumor was true. Capcom planned a retail version of the game (only available at Gamestop) for the PS3 packed with plenty of bonuses and for the same $14.99 price.

If you have an Xbox 360 and love blowing money on Xbox LIVE Arcade, then Microsoft wants you. Apparently, buying all five "Summer of Arcade" titles by August 31, 2009 will get you a bonus 800 Microsoft Points to spend.
All games include:
So that's basically spending $65.00 USD for $10 back, almost 15 percent.
Great episode of The Bender, we wish a happy birthday to the ESRB, discuss blackmailing of Modern Warfare .. 4, we briefly finish up talking about that whole racism/Left 4 Dead 2 situation, and enjoy those Disney steampunk art. Enjoy! Click to download/stream through iTunes or download the mp3 here
Okay, so Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is already out for Xbox LIVE, but if you think Capcom's going to let you forget about this game before it's out on PSN... you really don't know publishers.
Latest episodic assets pack, "Episode 6," features Magneto versus Bison. I don't care for either fighter, so that's all you're getting from me. But hey, we've done all previous five, so let's keep the ball rolling.
If you want to see more images, there are a few at the source.
"This is an exciting week because of all the new Dashboard preview but there’s more new items to take a look at on LIVE. The Xbox Summer of Arcades continues for the second week with Marvel VS. Capcom 2 along with some rocking new Rock Band tracks, the Far Cry Fortunes Pack Deal of the Week, Gears of War 2 map packs and more."
"Marvel VS. Capcom 2 features the biggest roster of challengers to ever square off in a Capcom fighting game, a total of 56 combined brawlers from both the Capcom and Marvel universes."
"Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes (XBLA)
I can appreciate the fact that Capcom was able to pull off the impossible and get Marvel to allow it to re-release the game, even if it is only through digital distribution. I'm also impressed that Capcom had the foresight to use the original Dreamcast code when porting instead of going the easier route and using either the PS2 or Xbox version as a base. Having an arcade perfect (or nearly arcade perfect) port is pretty important if they want t..."
It's Monday, and you know what that means -- yes, another episodic Marvel vs. Capcom 2 assets bundle from Capcom. Today, we see Strider going head-to-head with Spider-Man, with the usual "Episode 5" intro, two "Strategy" how-to videos, screenshots and movelists.
MvC2 comes out on Xbox LIVE this Wednesday, July 29, and PSN on August 13.
Here's a list of this weeks game releases, both on- and offline. The most popular retail titles are Wii Sports Resort on Wii, The King of Fighters XII on PS3 & Xbox 360 and BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger Standard Edition on PS3 & Xbox 360.
At long last, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 sees re-release this week on Xbox LIVE Arcade -- get your fight sticks ready, boys and girls.
Aside from that, Capcom delivers more with the ad-ridden Bionic Commando on PC, the very unique and atmospheric adventure Memento Mori (means "Remember you shall die"), SNK and Ignition brings us the twelfth iteration in the King of Fighters series, and Nintendo brings us some sports...thing (hey, I never said these lists weren't biased).
Until next time!
With Marvel vs Capcom 2 releasing next week, Marvel.com and Capcom released more information on the Marvel vs Capcom 2 mixtape. Expect to see Talib Kwelli and Raekwon to make an appearance. They also release the first video off the mixtape as well.
Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is due on LIVE and PSN at the end of July and early August, respectively. As we near release, Capcom is still coming out with these episodic assets.
The most recent collection, dubbed "Episode 4," features Iron Man and Mega Man as they go head-to-head, cannon-to-cannon. As usual, we've got the intro trailer, two "Strategy" gameplay videos, and lots of screenshots. You'll find most of that here; whatever couldn't be fit in can be found at the source.
Following up on the delay, Capcom announces today in an e-mail the PSN version of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 will be available for purchase Thursday, August 13, priced at $15. The XBLA version will be arriving this month -- July 29.
If you've been keeping up with Capcom's episodic Marvel vs. Capcom 2 asset releases, then you'll probably enjoy their latest one. Given that the game is due for re-release on July 29, it's probably the last "Episode" we'll be seeing.
"Episode 3" features Storm vs. Jill Valentine. We've gone from two iconic characters, Ryu and Wolverine, to heavyweights Hulk and Zangief. Now we have two popular ladies, from their respective franchises, going head-to-head in an introductory trailer and tw...
A great episode of The Bender awaits you. James will be buying a new system soon (he has had both a PS3 and Xbox 360, both have broke on him in the past). I ended up trying to show James the benefits of the Xbox 360, while Perry attempts to do the same for the PS3, and Allison swoops into talk about the Wii, but ends up saying pros/cons of the 360 and PS3. Plus we cover game news and the such. Enjoy!

"Last year was big, and we’re bringing Summer of Arcade back with some of the most highly anticipated titles from this years E3. Mark your calendars with this full schedule for the 2009 Summer of Arcade."
"Marvel vs Capcom 2 is the high intensive fighting of all fighting games, bringing back every character put into the vs series before that. WIth some of your favorite characters like Chung-Li and Ryu, to newly fighters like Jill from Resident Evil to Cable from the Marvel Series its no joke that this is the mother of all 2d fighting games. Xbox Live / PSN support will enable you to play online with friends and leader boards will also be there for stat track records. Be apart of the fight when ..."
Capcom has released new Marvel vs. Capcom 2 vids and screenshots, featuring the Hulk vs. Zangief this round -- follow-up to the Ryu vs. Wolverine goodies we saw last week.
Anyway, there's an Episode 2 trailer, in similar style to Episode 1, plus two more "Strategy" vids for our heavyweight fighters. Additionally, we've got more screenshots showing that classic tag team awesomeness.
A few more images at the source (couldn't fit them in here).
Capcom recently came out with some new Marvel vs. Capcom 2 vids, in anticipation of its re-release this summer on HD consoles.
The first one is a trailer, titled "Episode 1." Next, we have two "Strategy" videos, one featuring Wolverine and the other, Ryu. We've already seen the Ryu Strategy gameplay video earlier today, but for the same of completion (and convenience), all three are included here.
While there hasn't been much information regarding a solid release date for the upcoming downloadable re-release of Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Gamestop had a rather odd listing on their site. The listing shows a retail version of the game featuring a redeemable code along with a lot of bonuses for $19.99. What's interesting is that they have this listed only for the PS3 with a release date of August 13.
As for now, Capcom hasn't said anything regarding this issue, so keep it filed as a rumor.
Marvel vs. Capcom 2 won’t be able to make its expected released date on the Playstation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace at the end of June. The Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 enhanced port of the popular 2D fighting game has been delayed by a least a month.
For those who didn't enjoy the jazzy soundtrack featured in Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Capcom will be offering an alternate hip-hop soundtrack to go along with this month's re-release. The soundtrack features tracks by Talib Kweli, MC Supernatural, Planet Asia, and others. The songs are supposed to be originals which were inspired by the game. How do you get your hands on these beats, you ask? Capcom will be offering these tracks for download through XBLA and the PSN near the game's release. Keep y...
"There is still a bit of a wait until the full digital download release of the mighty Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, but to fill that gap and get a taste of the match-ups to come Capcom has just released a playable demo."
"Are you excited for Marvel vs. Capcom 2 yet? We know we are. We can barely contain our excitement from overcoming our brain and forcing us to dress up like a cross between Mega Man and the Incredible Hulk. Which is why we’re so pleased to finally have a release date to focus our attention on: June 29th.
Which is in fact a Monday. Whether Capcom will make an exception to the usual Thursday Playstation Store update, we’re not sure, but either way, we know we can expect the game to come i..."
Marvel vs. Capcom 3 has been on the radar for some time now, and with the legal issues cleared up for MvsC2's re-release, many of us were hopeful that meant all was go for a sequel.
According to Capcom's Community Manager Seth Killian, this is not a definite, and the possibility depends on how well MvsC2 does. Y'all better buy it!
Sidenote: Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, which looks fantastic, is suffering similar legal boundaries due to 13 different companies holding rights.
""We'll definitely be looking at a lot of titles that have things like Street Fighter and Resident Evil in the title," Kramer said. "We're thinking about putting together a long list of the titles we're looking at, and then releasing it on Capcom Unity and having people vote on them. Ultimately we're looking at bringing between 20 and 40 titles to the PSN over the next several months.""
Since we're all crabby at Capcom today, here's another two cents for the pile...
The music in the new Marvel vs. Capcom 2 teaser is the worst music in a fighting game I've ever heard. The game is notorious for awful music anyway, but in a trailer? Seriously Capcom, you're not making me want to buy this game, you're just making me want to rip my ears off.
Enjoy.
The Marvel vs. Capcom 2 demo just came out this week, and fans of the first game rushed to their consoles to download it... only to be extremely disappointed. Why? Well, it's only a 1 vs. 1 demo. You can't play against the computer either, you need to have a second controller in order to play. What if you don't have a second controller to play? Deal with it.
Or, what if you do have a second controller but no sibiling or friend to play with? Well, you're stuck playing against a dummy that d...

Needless to say, if you are a fan of the company's stuff, we've got heaps of new content to check out -- trailers, news (Resident Evil remake remake, oh yeah), screenshots...nummers.
