"GAME is unfortunately closing down unless it can find a buyer quickly. The banks bailed out GAME before Christmas but poor sales mean that GAME is in even more trouble than ever before. Certain publishers have refused GAME pre orders or not allowed GAME to have any stock of their games to sell. You may as well grab some cheap games while you still can.

GAME is selling off many of its new and pre owned games at bargain prices. Here are a few key deals that stick out as being worthy of your ..."

Prime Cut is back again this week with your host Stephen Lindsey. This week: Seaman on the 3DS, Borderlands 2's Release Date Trailer, Taco Bell and their PlayStation Vita troubles, and the next Medal of Honor!

Joystick Division's Rich Shivener argues that it's time for a commercial video game to offer a rich narrative on the 9/11 atrocities and what our country has done in their wake. Other media have been doing just that for the last 10 years.

"Amazon is always helping gamers keep their thumbs sore and their wallets, well, not empty. Right now Amazon has video game sales running for individual titles, BOGO free 3DS games, and special shipping and Amazon credit offers for upcoming games. Find out how you can save a bunch on titles you’ll love with Amazon’s video game deals."

HD remakes are all the rage these days, but a good modern remake goes beyond giving an older title a new coat of HD paint. What games from the past deserve a full remake?

Medal of Honor, EA’s October 2010 FPS release, was surrounded in controversy when the media discovered gamers could play as the Taliban during online matches. Then the review scores came out and across the board Medal of Honor received cumulative scores in the low 70s for the PC, Xbox 360 and the PS3 on Metacritic. It was because of this, coupled with the fact that Black Ops was released in November (with scores in the high 80s), that Medal of Honor fell below many people’s radar.

"Killing Osama Bin Laden doesn’t seem appealing and frankly, I find it to be in very poor taste. This isn’t a good way to honor the memory of men and women who died in the 9/11 attacks and in the Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts."

In this episode, the guys talk about the next Wii, WWE All Stars, Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes, The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile, Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga, Medal of Honor, Fallout: New Vegas, Mini Ninjas, Radiant Historia, a lot of other/older DS games, and plenty more!

We often wonder how we could get more variety in games, and at the same time, enable developers to take a few risks, yet not face bankrupcy in doing so.

OXCGN writer asks the question, how could developers do that, perhaps with compilations of HD levels extracted from several games on the one disc.

Much like Valve did with the Orange Box, which contained several games, gave each style of player something to get their teeth into, yet still enabled a long-term sale value for the publisher...

"Pat takes sick leave and Andy hosts as he, David, and Nick journey through the halls of video game history. We discuss the oldies like Mass Effect 2, Pokemon Black, Minecraft, Left 4 Dead, Medal of Honor, Shattered Horizon, the Nintendo 3DS, and a real relic: the 15 year old Sega SuperGT.

We take a look at what games your tax dollars are funding in gaming news. Trivia continues, and we wrap up with a few movies in casual discussion."

We have the first official confirmation of a sequel to EA's Medal of Honor that came out last year. Check out the full story to hear what the Executive Producer said of the next installment. Cheers!

"Now just so we’re clear, not every laptop on this list is specifically setup as a gaming rig, but within its price range and for what they’re worth, gamers who are looking for something adequate enough to game-on while on the go can find something spiffy and affordable enough with the following laptops"

Medal of Honor is being dragged down by reviewers worldwide by take a look at what EA had to say about it in tonight's financial report for the second fiscal quarter.

The recently released Medal of Honor by EA isn't getting enough attention it seems, according to a Raptr report. The report claims that gametime of other FPS rivals Modern Warfare 2 and Halo: Reach actually increased during Medal of Honor's launch week.

Early gameplay reports from Raptr suggest that that Medal of Honor may have misfired in its initial week. Game-time with EA's newest FPS hasn't affected gameplay time with other popular first-person shooters.

Eurogamer's annual Gaming Expo always attractions the attention of the aeverage UK gamer. WHile not on the scale or design of E3 or TGS etc, it does provide an opportunity for the average gamer to get access to upcoming games that otherwise would be outside their reach.

This year, a new venue, Earl's Court, saw sell-out days over the entire long weekend, and gave everyone an opportunity to simply have some fun, enjoy the games on offer, as well as grab some free swag in the process.

"It’s been happening for a long time: strategy games have recreated warzones from practically every conflict throughout history. However, easily the biggest controversies have come from shooters recreating wars that are still in living memory. The Medal of Honor and Call of Duty games have had plenty of entries set in WWII, and Call of Duty has made its first couple of entries in the modern arena, though the locations and enemies have been fictional. Now it’s Medal of Honor’s turn to make a st..."

This game has caused its share of both controversy, as well as critisism from both inside and outside the game industry. SO OXCGN has take two views on the game in their review, giving the reader a much broader look at the game, with some extensive video and developer diaries to munch over.

Slip over and take a look, make sure you have a drink and some munchies to tide you over . . . it'll be well worth it.

"EA is set to release a free multiplayer DLC pack for the Ps3 and Xbox 360 on 11/2. The pack will include a new multiplayer mode named “Clean Sweep” which EA describes as “an elimination mode where players must rely on their own skill and teammates’ expertise to prevail as the winning team.”"

"Battlefield and Call of Duty fanboys have had their eyes on Medal of Honor since EA announced it at the end of last year. This title holds high hopes for some and then there are the skeptics who are still not convinced. Finally the time has come to take it to war, but will it please hardcore fans of modern shooters? We’ll find out soon enough."

"Medal of Honor has been in the light of public attention lately albeit not for the most positive of reasons. People scathed the fact that you could play as the Taliban, killing US soldiers, whilst others disapproved of the fact it was essentially two games in one."

OXCGN is always trying to encourage new writers to express their views through other means that simply forum banter. So they asked for gamers to express their views on the recent Medal Of Honor Taliban controversy.

Here are the two entrants picked from the number that submitted write-ups on the topic. Well worth the read both for and against the change of name and the whole issue actually. Slip over now and check it out, and pass your comment as well.

"In Medal of Honor you are a member of an elite group of special forces operatives known at Tier 1. Watch this trailer to see Medal of Honor Tier 1 operatives in action."

Everyone remembers the incredible drama over the Taliban in Medal of Honor and the way the press made a bigger deal than was neccessary. It's not the first time EA has been invovled with contoversy

Medal of Honor is only days away, however if you can't wait for any more morsels, GamesCastLive got some hands-on time with EA's prolific shooter and throw out some comments on what's been seen so far.

"Ever since EA announced it was rebooting it's Medal of Honor franchise and setting it in modern day Afghanistan, I have been excited. It takes a serious effort to pull off the feat of depicting a very real war at a time when that war is still current; soldiers are still out there doing things being portrayed in this game. Turn-on CNN or Fox News for 10 minutes and see if they don't bring it up. EA tasked its LA studio, turned Danger Close with creating the single player portion of the game, a..."

"Everyday readers of RipTen might recall an editorial I posted a while back titled; “Medal of Honor Beta – What it Does Right, What it Does Wrong“. The aforementioned editorial was essentially a rundown of a few things I thought were both good and bad about the closed beta run by EA a few months back."

"When EA announced at E3 that they were bringing Medal of Honour back and setting it in the current Afghanistan theatre I figured it wouldn’t be any different from previous MOH outings in that whilst they’d be playable and fairly solid – they’d still be snuffed out by Call of Duty especially considering that EALA are behind it – the same team that was behind the lacklustre MOH: Airborne."

"You can call Jack Thompson many things, but modest is not one of them. In the wake of EA’s decision to change the name of the Taliban in Medal of Honor, Jack Thompson has claimed victory, and has a message for gamers."

How does the recent Medal of Honor controversy affect actual military personnel? What are their feelings on the "Taliban/Opposing Force" subject? A former servicemen takes time to answer some questions and dispel some mistruths.

There are many mixed feelings about EA's decision to remove the word Taliban from the Multiplayer segment of their upcoming game, Medal Of Honor. While it's easy for many to critise them for doing so, there's also a large numbe rof ppl with the same passion about including it in the first place.

SO OXCGN has asked you to voice your opinions in a 400 - 60 word submission, that will then be published on the site should it meet muster by the editorial staff. And in doing so, they are going to...

"With the current season prompting for huge game releases, it only seems fitting to point out the obvious, simply because some gamers may be left questioning…"which game looks more badass?""

"Seems like things got a little too hot for Electronic Arts. Heeding the wishes of the ”friends and families of fallen soldiers,” EA has decided to remove playable Taliban from Medal Of Honor"

With the great games that came out this year like Red Dead Redemption, God of War III, and the newly released Halo: Reach this year has been a great time to be a gamer. Thing is the year is coming to an end and its time to run down the remaining games coming out this Holiday season.

OXCGN's newest writer from the US has a solid look at the controversy that has risen regarding the ability to play as a member of the Taliban. It's an interesting read actually, showing how many other games before it have had similar, if not the same situation, just not with a name attached to a character.

Slip over, have a read, there's a vid there of the Fox News that aired the whole thing originally, but the writers take is an interesting one.

"EA is really getting serious about showcasing their famous (in some circles infamous) “COD killer” Medal Of Honor. With the fourth video of their Medal of Honor Experience series titled “Friends from Afar”, the experience as a sniper is highlighted."

"The controversy surrounding EA's Medal of Honor continues to swirl with the latest salvo coming from British Secretary of Defense, Liam Fox. The game is set during the early days of the current war in Afghanistan and follows "Tier 1 Operators" as they conduct operations behind enemy lines against the Taliban. The part that Fox and others find objectionable is the multiplayer portion of the game which allows players to play as terrorists."

"It has recently come to my attention that players will be able to play as the Taliban in the multiplayer portion of the upcoming Medal Of Honor. Recently, some members of the military were interviewed to provide their feelings on the issue. Is it okay to play as the enemy of a current ongoing war? Are game developers disrespecting our great country?"

The Entertainment Software Rating Board has released a detailed summary for the Mature rating of the upcoming PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 game, Medal of Honor.

"Let me name just a few games off of the top of my head that have gameplay/conflicts similar to Medal of Honor: Battlefield 2 (and expansions), Call of Duty 4, the entire Counter Strike series, Splinter Cell, and hell, even the game America's Army, which is developed BY THE AMERICAN ARMY. And that's off the top off my head. The difference? Nothing. Except that MoH actually labels the enemies as the Taliban. Is there any fundamental difference between MoH and the previously listed games? No. At..."

"The market is pretty well flooded with first person shooters right now, and those of the "modern warfare" variety are a dime in a dozen. Chances are that had the multiplayer set up competitions between "Generic Army A" and "Generic Army B" like most others do it would have flown right under the collective radar of the gaming community. By making it an interactive bout between American soldiers and the Taliban however, the game has been drawn front and center into the consciousness of the indu..."

While speaking to GTTV, Greg Goodrich, Medal of Honor's Executive Producer, says "The key differentiator between his game and Modern Warfare is greater realism and plausibility."

Could this mean he is trying to make his game more plausible and realistic than the Call of Duty titles?

"The upcoming Electronic Arts game Medal of Honor for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 has generated a bit of controversy over the fact that it portrays events from the War in Afghanistan in 2001. Because the conflict is on-going and American llives are being lost, some like the Gold Star Moms find the concept of a game allowing gamers to play as members of the Taliban and shoot American soldiers during multiplayer to be disrespectful. Fox News had one of the Gold Star Moms on their morning show thi..."

"The massive global multiplayer beta test for Medal of Honor started on June 21 for the Playstation 3 and PC but was, unfortuneately delayed for the Xbox 360. EA has announced a few hours ago via Twitter @medalofhonor that the Medal of Honor beta for Xbox 360 is now live"

"In recent times, The Medal of Honor series has been pushed out of the limelight slightly by the likes of the Call of Duty series and Battlefield’s Bad Company spinoff. Well things are about to change, as EA’s war veteran is making a comeback after being announced late last year."

Medal of Honor is getting a Limited Edition for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 that comes with early access to weapons and one exclusive weapon. And hey, here's a trailer for it.

"For the first time in its history, the Medal of Honor franchise is bringing gamers to the modern war setting. With plenty of other modern war video games out there, EA is hoping to bring a sense of realism that other titles have not been able to accomplish. With the help of Tier-1 operatives, MOH’s campaign looks show gamers what it’s like to fight in modern day Afghanistan. EA’s realistic mentality doesn’t change when it comes to the multiplayer portion of the game. At this year’s E3 I was a..."

"After the E3 showing of Medal of Honor i was drooling at the prospect of getting a new MOH game and one set in the modern era was a massive boost as lets face it WW2 has been done to death now. The game is being developed by two different studio’s. EA LA will look after the campaign side of things and DICE the guys behind Battlefield will look after the multi-player side"

The Medal of Honor beta is a very luxurious event at this point in time. Not many people are in it (mostly due to the Xbox 360 version being delayed), so we don't have too much information or opinions on the beta. But exterminat brings us his impressions of the beta, and brilliantly captures all of the good and bad of the newest Medal of Honor iteration.

"On Battlefield: Bad Company 2 official blog DICE asks for feedbacks about Medal of Honor beta. DICE developed both multiplayer modes and wants to exploit the beta to find out what to improve on the upcoming multiplayer FPS."

"The Medal of Honor series is one of the most well known franchises in video gaming. This franchise is home to many prestigious awards, world records, and die-hard fans around the world, but this once best selling title for Electronic Arts has fallen on hard times in recent years with under-performing titles across several gaming platforms. Medal of Honor recently celebrated its 10th anniversary and what a better way to celebrate it than to create a new game in the series; Electronic Arts howe..."

"On this episode of onTopic Andreas, Craig and Ronnie discuss the Microsoft E3 press conference (Kinect, Fable 3, Black Ops mad MGS Rising) Ubisoft press conference (Child of Eden, Assassins Creed Brotherhood, Ghost Recon and Driver) along with the EA press conference (Bad Company 2, Medal of Honer and Sims 3.)"

"The Medal of Honor Public Beta starts on June 21, but if you're the type of person who just can't wait then we've got a solution for you. If you're a Battlefield Bad Company 2 VIP, and you've pre-ordered Medal of Honor, you'll be able to start playing (on all three systems; PC, PS3, and Xbox 360) this Thursday, June 17."

In addition to being excited about forgoing the 2,300 nautical miles of travel from the east coast, we’re eager to playtest the latest unreleased games and be there when Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo and others unveil their video game secrets."

"The Second part of our 'What the F&%k' of the week, is going to go to Games Workshop. Anyone that doesn't know who Games Workshopis they are the makers of Warhammer, they and uhh, Mythic make the Warhammer 40,000 game. But Games Workshop started primarily with the tabletop Warhammer. But they have filed a lawsuit against Curse a company who operates WarhammerAlliance.com which is a fan site and general gaming news site. They are suing them for trademark infringement, cybersquating and unfair ..."

Electronic Arts is striving for authenticity and respect with the reboot of the Medal of Honor series. The newest trailer features a Ranger's call home to reassure his wife played over his deployment to an Afghan battlefield.

"Today the Medal of Honor trailer, entitled "Leaving a Message" released on the Tier 1 Central portion of the EA website.

Keen observers and fans of the Medal of Honor series should have noticed that the answer machine states, "Hello, you've reached the Patterson residence." Patterson is now the obvious last name of the game's main protagonist and the character in which you will play."

""The ship date will be announced at 12pm today via an emotionally charged trailer entitled “Leave A Message”. The trailer shows a U.S. Army Ranger platoon heading into combat aboard a helicopter.""

"You certainly know that DICE has developed Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and it is now developing Medal of Honor. Playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2 can unlock a gun for the upcoming Medal of Honor. Yeah yeah: the upcoming game. That means it has not been released yet!"

"Medal of Honor is being built by the development team at EALA, which has reportedly been hand-selected by the studio leadership of General Manager Sean Decker, Executive Producer Greg Goodrich and Senior Creative Director Rich Farrelly. EA DICE, the team responsible for the critically acclaimed Battlefield series, will develop the multiplayer experience of Medal of Honor."

"EA's narrowed down the release dates for its big upcoming titles, including Dead Space 2 and Crysis 2.

EA CEO John Riccitiello revealed the news in a conference call to investors last night - which we listened into.

He said the big sequels as well as Medal of Honor and EA Sports MMA will all be released in FY2011, which runs from April 1, 2010 until March 31, 2011."

"EA has claimed that combat in the upcoming Medal Of Honor reboot will set the title apart from its rivals, including the Call Of Duty series.

The game, being jointly developed by EA Los Angeles and EA DICE, transports the series to the modern day setting of Afghanistan, with events covering the allied invasion in 2001 and the resulting occupation up to 2004.

According to an early preview in the new edition of GamesMaster magazine, the shooter features "slick and smooth" combat between U..."

dallasnews.com has an interesting piece up about the huge amount of war video games out there today, examining just why they're so prevalent.

It has a good bit of history, too, comparing the current trend with earlier eras of film, in part focusing on the content itself. One of the reasons listed for the shift is the 2001 WTC attack. So it appears, gamers have been a lot more open to adapting the topic in such times.

Give it a read.

"Today the first trailer is released, supplying us with about 50 seconds of cinematic and gameplay footage, and it looks to be a keeper. While it might be easy to peg Medal of Honor's new setting as purely a cheap way to ride on Activision's success, judging from the video, this will not be the case (particularly love that ending).

"

""It sure seems Modern Warfare (and its gobs of money) is the inspiration behind EA's announcement today of their new Medal of Honor. We know little about the game other than it takes place in Afghanistan and features a suspiciously bearded man. Suspicious, you say? Here's why:

Meet "Cowboy," an United States Special Forces officer and Medal of Honor Man's monozygotic twin. This particular picture (right), taken in August 24, 2002, is part of a series ran by Time magazine during the beginn..."

With EA's announcement of the Medal of Honor reboot, gamers got a chance to take a gander at the new box art for the game. While it is almost assuredly just a temporary image to be used as filler for retailers, there is no denying that the artwork is strikingly similar to another modern day FPS...

"Medal of Honor returns to the front lines, this time in today’s war. For the first time in the franchise’s 10-year history, Medal of Honor is leaving the WWII theatre and putting players in war-torn Afghanistan. Electronic Arts Inc. today revealed that in 2010, Medal of Honor, an all-new First-Person Shooter game for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, will introduce the Tier 1 Operator: a relatively unknown entity directly under the National Command Authority who takes on missions no one else ca..."
