According to David Crislip, one of Capcom's Assistant Producers and lead for the Virtual Console, Mega Man 1 will hit the North American Virtual Console tomorrow, and will be followed up by the release of Mega Man 2 in September, with new WiiWare retro title Mega Man 9 to hit later that month, as relayed by John D's Capcom Unity blog.

After having some pretty good releases last month in both quality and quantity, Japan's VC fare for August seems a bit dialed back. There are some definite gems, but there's nothing really groundbreaking. Also included is Japan's update for next Tuesday, the last update of July.

  • After being already rated by the OFLC, the fans awaited for the impending possibility of Mega Man 9, for which most assumed would be available for a downloadable service. An early leak of the next Nintendo Power issue reveals just that. That's right, folks. Mega Man 9 is headed to WiiWare.
