"Well, another year, another Video Game Awards show from Spike TV. The network aired the two hour special last night, chock full of celebrities, gaming awards (more of the former than the latter) and several big exclusives. Zachary Levi hosted the show this year, and was surprisingly more effective than last year’s hosting gig by Neil Patrick Harris, thanks to his entry through a Portal and some comical bits that actually weren’t half bad. Even if we’re still trying to figure out who the hell ..."

"It’s been over two and a half years since we experienced the end of Solid Snake‘s tale and what would be the true “end” of the series to the fanbase.

Snake gave his final salute at the end of Metal Gear Solid 4, and to longtime fans of the series (including the MSX versions) it was one of the most powerful moments this generation.

Here we have a hero that not only came to define the PlayStation platform, but ushered in the mainstream version of the stealth genre; now he’s out of our liv..."

"Let's face it; Metal Gear Solid 4 was basically a film anyway. If ever an example is needed of a game that gives more time to cut scenes then it does to gaming, MGS4 is it. Did that make it a bad game? No. And that fact in itself proves that Metal Gear Solid could be the basis for a fantastic film."

Yes, Konami has released official transgender merchandise; it's called the Sweet Snakes. In spite of how silly that sounds, TK-Nation's Cassandra Khaw managed to track down a cosplayer capable of executing a female Raiden with style, aplomb and a lot of scariness factor.

"Since there are literally hundreds of thousands of games out there, it’s no easy task for lead characters to make a lasting impression on the player. Once in a while however, you'll come across a leader that's different. Somehow, that character manages to set himself apart from the others."

Great News for PS3 users!!! Metal Gear Solid: Rising will be in glorious 3D. Watch Raiden slice and dice in the third dimension. Watch the new TGS demonstration!

SideQuesting.com - In Metal Gear Solid: Rising, players will be able to cut almost anything they want — and with style. Focusing on a take/cut mechanic, the game will be much more action-oriented than the standard MGS games.

The Electronic Entertainment Expo is the event where most video game companies like to show off their games, usually with top not trailers. Here are the top 10 must-watch trailers at E3 2010.

Kojima Productions just unveiled a new trailer for the awaited Metal Gear Solid: Rising. The video features Raiden slice & dicing enemy soldiers with the first traces of blood & gore in MGS history, with a Haven Trooper-like AI soldier with a heavy machine gun being chopped, decapitated, havled, and having a spine-like energy core teared forcibly teared out of it's lower body. Ouch.

Well E3 2010 is definitely here. With Microsoft's conference now done, All Age Gaming brings you a comprehensive summary of the announcements at Microsoft's conference. Some exciting stuff indeed.

"If you've been eager to get some new info on the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Rising for the Xbox 360 and PS3, then you are not alone. Despite causing a huge stir at last year's E3 and confirming that Metal Gear would arrive on the Xbox 360, the game has been as silent as the stealthy gameplay the franchise is known for."

"While the women in fighting games tend to get the most attention for being considered "sexy", their cousins in the action genre are out shooting it up and exploring boundaries well beyond the confines of a ring. Just because these characters are rendered in more than bikinis doesn't mean they're not sexy.

The action genre has been dominated by male characters since the creation of gaming. But there have been a few exceptions to the rule of sexes. And of course, these female exceptions have..."

"Mad genius Hideo Kojima has been using his Twitter account to do what he does best -- babble incomprehensibly about things and making the rest of us scratch our heads. The Metal Gear Solid creator has remarked upon a game we know next to nothing about, Metal Gear Solid: Rising, though what he says is typically vague and silly.

"The next MGS ... RISING," begins the director. "This game will create new users, be developed by the new generation, a new MGS, but on the other hand, [Peace Walke..."

A rumor is currently floating around the 'net that Metal Gear Solid: Rising's Raiden has had a bit of an update in his appearance.

The new Raiden is a little prettier, has baby blues instead of brown eyes, and his hair is now a more silvery grey color. The suit has also been upgraded and there appears to be a new object (his sword, perhaps?) in front of him.

""An Ending with a Twist

However the Metal Gear Solid film would have ended, you can bet it would have included some kind of twist, if only in the form of a voice-over that immediately followed the credits. Just think of all the subtle plot twists and/or sequel hints that could have been thrown into the last little bits of dialogue. It would have been amazing.""

"There was a lot of excitement surrounding the announcement of Metal Gear Solid: Rising at this year’s E3. With practically no concrete details about the game coming from the announcement—besides the fact that it will be the first Metal Gear game on the Xbox 360—message boards and blogs started blowing up with ideas surrounding what this game is all about. To report on all these speculations I searched high and low, digging though console war disputes and half-baked theories to bring you, fine..."

"The final product is astounding, the look, feel & sound of a Metal Gear product is all there. Despite the lack of a true blockbuster feel, you know the kind that costs around $40,000,00, Metal Gear Solid: Philanthropy is the greatest fan made movie I have ever seen. I strongly urge you to watch this, and then get over to the comment section and tell them what a great job they did. It has taken years, literally, but they kept at it and now it’s done."

Accoring to Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima, the two teams working on Metal Gear Solid: Rising and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker "are not good friends" and have a bit of rivalry going on between them. One of the reasons the teams aren't too keen on each other is because the MGS: Peace Walker team recieved the short end of the stick when it came to money and hardware specs.

But this might be a good thing. If the two teams are competing against each other, this can only mean they are...

""I personally get confused too about the whole timeline and saga of Metal Gear Solid. This is especially tricky when you create the future first and then go back in time to create something new. There are a lot of small aspects where sometimes it doesn't match completely.""

Konami released their own Q&A session with Kojima Productions' Hideo Kojima of Metal Gear fame. He talks mostly about Peace Walker, that pre-E3 teaser on the Kojima Productions website, and a few personal opinions -- such as his anti-war sentiments.

Also, new screenshots of Peace Walker were released with the Q&A, as well as a mini-lesson in kanji at the source.

No surprise here. Shane Kim, the Vice President of Microsoft, is very happy that Metal Gear Solid is coming to the Xbox 360. Interestingly enough, he also admitted that Xbox 360 is in second place behind the Nintendo Wii with his interview with Gamasutra.

All we know about the Metal Gear Solid Movie is that there will be a movie. Rumors have come and gone mostly about Christain Bale playing Snake. Well a photo has been leaked which shows a movie poster from Sony Pictures, on the face on there, no other then Christain Bale.

"In celebration of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots’ one year anniversary, Konami has announced today that they will release “exciting” Metal Gear announcements all week long. Each day this week, Metal Gear fans can expect to receive game updates and other highly anticipated announcements about the best-selling series direct from Konami."

Though previously it seemed Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima wouldn't have much involvement in the next full-scale installment, according to an interview with Japanese magazine Dengeki, he'll actually be "working more deeply on the project than a normal producer.”

Additionally, Kojima stated, "It’s a completely different kind of action than what has appeared in the series so far.”

E3 has come and gone, and you may think all the big stuff has been said and done. MGS: Rising and FFXIV were announced, motion controls detailed, big name trailers and screenshots by the dozen. But there is a whole lot more which didn't make the headlines. Assassin Creed 2 to have multiplayer, yet another Halo in the works, Force Unleashed 2, Jak and Daxter on PS3? All this and more is reported at the source.

Tomonobu Itagaki may have left Tecmo, but that hasn't stopped him from voicing his opinions on other games and the devs who make them. 1Up caught up with him at this year's E3, where they discussed his positive opinions of Metal Gear Solid: Rising, his negative opinions of Bayonetta, as well as his newest game since leaving Tecmo. He also says that he is tired of making games with big-boobed characters, ala the Dead or Alive series.

"On the back of the Go! announcement was the true reveal of the PSP version of the multi million dollar franchise; Gran Turismo. This game is not to be a port of one of the previous games nor that of GT5, but a fully fledged, from the ground up handheld racing gem. To be honest I can’t wait, the only PSP game I have ever got excited for. My fat PSP doesn’t really get much use; I might trade it in and trade it up for a Go! on release see if I can get more fun out of it, the UMD’s annoy me too m..."

"Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced Kojima Productions is working on a new Metal Gear Solid title, which will mark the series’ first simultaneous multi-format release. Entitled Metal Gear Solid: Rising, the game will be available for Xbox®360, PLAYSTATION®3 and PC-DVD.

The first Metal Gear Solid game in the series’ history to be released simultaneously on three platforms, Metal Gear Solid: Rising stars Raiden – one of the most popular characters within the MGS universe. Raiden ..."

Though only the Xbox 360 release was mentioned in the press release, Sony's Jack Tretton confirms Metal Gear: Rising will indeed be coming to the PS3. PC release isn't confirmed yet, but does look likely.

Meanwhile, series creator Hideo Kojima lets us know he will not be directing or designing Rising, but rather focusing his efforts on Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, which he describes as the "Metal Gear Solid 5 inside me".

It looks like Metal Gear Solid: Rising won't be an Xbox 360 exclusive after all. Konami's list of games now show that the title will be going to PS3 and PC as well.
Look out for Konami's E3 announcements tomorrow.
