I happened to think Metroid: Other M was pretty awesome, but not every critic would agree. The game did less than stellar at retail, leading many gamers to speculate that Nintendo would put the franchise on the shelf for a while. I don't think that's necessary, instead I thought of a few ideas Nintendo should utilize to help make Metroid relevant again.

A glitch has been reported that is ruining the game for many players of Nintendo's Metroid: Other M. If hit by the glitch, the only way to restart is by retarting on a new save file.

Nintendo has released a list of games they are bringing to GamesCom 2010 in Cologne Germany. All of the titles listed will be on display on the floor, no closed door items.

Amazon is offering $10/$20 credit for several high-profile games coming out in August. Included in the list are Madden NFL 11, Mafia II, Metroid: Other M and more.

According to an advert in trade magazine MCV, It seems that Metroid: Other M is due for release in Europe in September.

The game is due out on September 2nd for Japan, Europe shouldn’t be too far behind it seems.

Today, Nintendo have updated its release list and confirmed that Sin and Punishment 2 will be pushed back a few weeks to June 27. Metroid: Other M will also be delayed until August 31.

"The game looks at the classic franchise from a new perspective: while much of the game is reminiscent of 2D side-scrollers, players can switch the perspective into 3D at any time as they explore the twisting passages of a derelict space station and delve deep into a cinematic, never-before-told story of bounty hunter Samus Aran's past."

At Nintendo of Australia's media summit today, IGN AU has confirmed with Nintendo that the publisher's two hotly anticipated titles, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M will actually see early releases this year. The sequel to Mario's galactic adventures will see a release in the land down under in June, and Team Ninja's take on the Metroid series will see an August release.

A teaser site for the upcoming Team Ninja x Nintendo Wii title Metroid: Other M has opened, following Nintendo's Third Quarter Financial Results Briefing. The teaser features some light piano music and a short monologue by presumably Samus.

The game is due for a summer 2010 release in Japan.

2010 is looking like it could be the Wii's best year, in terms of first-party game support. The year promises Sin and Punishment 2, Super Mario Galaxy 2, and Metroid: Other M, so long as everything goes according to plan.
