Although not a name you would as much as associate with new age gaming, Yoshio Sakamoto, who after making his debut on Donkey Kong Junior, went onto making Kid Icarus and ofcourse, Metroid. Metroid is a series that has done nothing but moved from strength to strength since it's very first game back in 1986. Fans of the Metroid Prime games will be happy to know that Nintendo will be releasing all three games on a single disc. Not only do you get the convenience of having all three games on one disc, but Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2 Echoes, which were originally released on the Gamecube, will feature widescreen and 480p support along with motion controls a la Metroid Prime 3. Three key developers from the fabled studio behind the Metroid Prime games have broken away and formed their own house. Mark Pacini, Todd Keller and Jack Mathews have already signed an exclusive publishing deal with EA and are set to work on new IP's. It's rumored they may be making games for the 360 or PS3.
GameInformer, the popular magazine about all things gaming that has somewhere near three million subscribers, always has a different game on the cover each time. MTV wanted to see if there was a GI cover curse, so they looked back into the past and pulled out magazines from 2-3 years ago.
One game titled Superman Returns didn't so well, receiving 6/10's. That's nothing compared to Fear and Respect, which was at one point on a GI cover, but ended up being canceled!

Starting August 15th at 6PM CST, TheSpeedGamers will be hosting a event called "Metroid Marathon" to help raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, who aim to cure sick children. The marathon lasts 72 hours.

"Nintendo has denied internet reports that the Metroid Prime Trilogy in its entirety is coming to Wii.
According to GoNintendo, a tipster claimed that the computer system of a retailer had a new Wii game listed as 'Metroid Prime Trilogy'.
Internet speculation jumped to the obvious conclusion that Metroid Prime 1, 2 and 3 were being repackaged as one and the GameCube games were being revamped for the console.

Lead designer Mark Pacini, engineer Jack Mathews, and art director Todd Keller, who were all seniors of the company Retro Studios have moved one. These three people were some of the main people involved in bringing you the Metroid Prime Trilogy. The reason for them leaving is not yet known.
It is also rumored that the three may make their own development studio, but that is still up in the air and yet to be seen.
