Here are this week's deals on Xbox 360 stuff from around the internet including some nice promotions at Best Buy and Toys "R" Us as well as used game discounts from Glyde.

Available today only, you can pick up the mobile version of EA's free-running experiment, Mirror's Edge, in the Apple app store for free. The game is a side-scrolling platformer, as opposed to first person.

A new Mirror's Edge game has been hinted at in the past, but EA senior vice president Patrick Soderlund has all but that official in an interview. Soderlund says...

"While the rumour is still running wild with fans hoping for a sequel to 2008’s Mirror’s Edge, an inventive but ultimately flawed project from the developers of the widely respected Battlefield series, DICE Studios, Electronic Arts has confirmed that an adaptation of the game will be making it’s way to the iPhone and iPod Touch. Due for release in January 2010, Mirror’s Edge for iPhone and iPod Touch once again casts players as Faith Connors."

For those that missed out on the previous Mirror's Edge PC deal, either because you were/are Canadian, just weren't around, or didn't catch it before it sold out, we have another one again today which may be even better for you.

On iNetVideo, the game sells for $8, with $5 shipping (there's also a French version for $6). NCIX is also selling for $8, it too with $5 shipping, or local pickup if you happen to live in Greater Vancouver.

The game ships with a free CD as well, which includes ...

She's not very happy, you see.

As these things go, Faith of Mirror's Edge once had quite a lot of gameplay dialogue, but due to the break in "immersion" it caused, it ended up being axed at the last minute, according to writer Rhianna Pratchett.

Personally we'd find it a bit weird hearing Faith speak much more than she does during the gameplay bits, but it is interesting. What about you?

If you're at all interested in Mirror's Edge and have a capable gaming PC (system requirements are on the game's profile below), Newegg currently has the game on sale for $5.99 and with free shipping! Sadly this is only for US residents.

Even if you have the console version, it may be worth picking up as personally (having tried both versions), the kb/mouse controls and more enjoyable and natural, though of course it's preference. Further, you do get the advantage of improved graphics, hig...

"When asked for an update on the future of the IP, Soderlund told us: “Mirror’s Edge was a risky move. It was a bold move, a very innovative and inspiring move. The game wasn’t perfect by any means. We would have liked the game to sell better even though the game has sold better than most people think.”

He added: “You will see another Mirror’s Edge for sure. It’s just a matter of when that time is and what we do with it. We have a small team on it and I’m excited about what we do.”

"During a conference call today, EA CFO Eric Brown noted that both EA Redwood Shores' Dead Space and DICE's Mirror's Edge sold over one million copies each in 2008.

The figure includes all versions of the games that were released in 2008. The action-horror shooter Dead Space was available on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, while the first-person parkour game Mirror's Edge hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2008."

This is an interesting take on DLC. Instead of adding map packs that 'fit' the overall theme of the game, DICE decided to make their map pack too look like an abstract dream. They asked themselves "if faith is dreaming, what will she dream about" They also announced that the PS3's free map will be released tomorrow separately from the other map packs.

Just released yesterday, DICE have released a patch for the PC version of Mirror's Edge which fixes a bug with the game's PhysX capabilities. Grab it at the source!

Not a long list this week either, but the notable titles are really notable. The Lord of the Rings: Conquest has been getting a nice bit of hype; see if it lives up on PC, Xbox 360, PS3 or DS. The DS sci-fi adventure Moon comes out too -- check out Tainted's take on the game on his blog over here. Finally, there's the first-person parkour game most of us know and love coming for PC: Mirror's Edge.

"The game controls in a manner similar to most First-Person Shooters, although the handling of your character differs viciously depending on momentum. Red items highlight paths which will lead a player in the right direction, though far from the hand-holding such a feature may be perceived as, and navigation is rarely an issue when running at pace. Players can leap, wall-run, duck and dive with the easiest of button combinations, and the game is clearly at it’s best when it performs as it’s de..."

Some rumors were floating around concerning the PS3 version of Mirror's Edge a few months ago. Everything from it being a timed exclusive to getting its own downloadable content only on the console there were plenty of them. While the first is obviously false the latter appears to have had the grain of truth, DICE are developing a Time Attack course specifically for the PS3, a video is at the source if you want a glimpse.

With EA's latest game, Mirrors Edge being played on TV's all across the world the verdict is good.

If you want even more Mirrors Edge / Faith goodness, Brad Borne of Borne Games has teamed up with EA to give us a 2D Flash version of Mirrors Edge.

This is only the beta but rest assure that the full game will be out soon, scheduled to be released in 1-2 weeks. The full version will be complete with leader boards for the top Runners so you can compete with your friends.

"Mirror’s Edge hurdles forward with such breakneck speed that when it comes time to slow and gasp for air, the sharp edges and sleek lines are unravelled by the in-betweens. Skimming the rooftops of an eerily pristine cityscape is proof of developer DICE’s concept, without a shadow of a doubt. Always propelling the experience forward, the swift sense of speed and flow of first-person platforming relies on the possibility of freedom within linear environments. But that forward thrust has to bre..."

Gavin Schmitt over at Robot Martini has thrown aside Nathan Hale (Resistance 2) in favor of putting out a papercraft of the new hit star, Faith from Mirrors Edge.

Remember when Sony was asked what they thought of DLC and SCEE responded "nothing is ever exclusive"? Well I don't think this was what they were talking about. Either way it seems there's DLC coming to both platforms. A spokesperson told GameCyte that "its downloadable content for both systems". If by some chance the PS3 does end up getting exclusive DLC, be assured DLC in itself will not be exclusive.

GCHD has posted breaking news regarding new storyline details for Mirror's Edge. Scattered throughout the world are numerous hidden messages, that when linked together, tell the story of underground society known only as "November". EA DICE revealed to GCHD that dozens of signs are waiting to be discovered, though many of the locations are still unknown. The linked article shows two examples of what to expect. Could it be that the storyline in Mirror's Edge isn't as lackluster as we thought?

If you have been fallowing Mirror's Edge you would now that they use some very beautifull music in their game. While the full soundtrack is set to release alongside with the game on Itunes, DICE has released, I guess you can say a sample of the soundtrack. And don't worry it's fully legal. Head on over to download the .zip file.

Do you need to know Mirror Edge's exact time before it launches? CVG has put up a nifty website that has a pretty cool countdown clock for you to look at, as well as the information that is being revealed heading towards the release.

There has been some concern about the length of this game. Some people are even deciding the purchase upon the length. Well EA has confirmed that the game will take about 12 hours to complete the story line for normal players. So how long is that for hardcore players? Hopefully there is more difficulties, and not to mention the time trail mode should add replay value.

EA have become famous for making sports games, licensed games and rehashed sequels after sequels. Well EA knows that, and they plan on doing something about it. They are trying to change their image by bringing out new IP's such as Dead Space, Mirror's Edge and Spore. This is quite a good business strategy, but you have a long time to get to your goal EA.

"EA is apparently pretty pleased with their upcoming action adventure game Mirror's Edge. The game's not in stores yet but they're already thinking sequels - two sequels, to be exact."

EA and Timbuk2, a bag making company based off of San Francisco, have reached a deal that will package a Mirror's Edge labeled bag along with the game for $130.

Games like Grand Theft Auto and Okami even Cooking Mama became hits for being a different style game. Well DICE the marketing director of Mirrors Edge is expecting this game to become a hit and sell 3 million just for being a different style game.

Well its always good to be an optimist but saying its going to sell 3 million just because its "Different" is being a little to confident if you ask me.

"We got in touch with our friends over at DICE today, and it can now be confirmed that their upcoming title, Mirror's Edge, has got trophies. This will come as a welcome relief to many PS3 owners as some thought the system would only be implemented properly as of 2009. Now however, we can look forward to a host of titles coming at Christmas for our trophy needs."

CESA has released a first list of games [PDF] that will be shown at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show that will be held from October 9, 2008 to October 12, 2008. As per tradition, this is only the first of multiple lists that will be released by the organization for the games that will appear at TGS 2008. A full list of the notable games can be seen in the quote and at the source.

There will be 462 titles at the show, broken up thusly:
Wii - 27 titles
PS3 - 12 titles
Xbox360 - 14 titles

There was a bit of confusion a while back about Mirror's Edge being said to be a timed PS3 exclusive and now we have got the facts. Apparently this rumor was a result of mistranslation and what was actually meant to be said was that the PS3 would be getting downloadable content only available on the Playstation Store. No word yet on whether the other consoles would be getting their own exclusive content.

"Earlier today, Electronic Arts announced that they signed a deal with United Talent Agency (UTA) to “develop a comprehensive strategy for moving its intellectual property into the realm of large-budget motion pictures and television series.”

No confirmation of a movie or television show based off of Mirror’s Edge has been announced, but many gamers (including most of the staff here) have been eagerly anticipating Mirror’s Edge since it was announced earlier this year."

So admittedly, E3 2008 was a disappointment for all this year, but that isn't to say that there weren't some great games on show. Resident Evil 5, Gears of War 2 and Resistance 2 all made an appearance, but was it enough for them to claim the title of Best of E3 ?

"Mirror's Edge looks great. And the "first-person running-jumping-sliding-kicking-shooting" gameplay is certainly novel and different. This morning, I checked out the E3 build, which looked, well, great. But...while watching the dev show off the game, I seriously started to feel ill. Really, really ill. I've never gotten motion sick from a game, and I got it pretty bad while checking out Mirror's Edge. Like to the point of breaking out in a cold sweat and feeling rather green. Actually playing..."
