An authentic-looking box art for the PC version of the PAL release for the yet-to-be-announced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has apparently been discovered.
We heard of the rumors that the next Call of Duty would feature a familiar charactor in a prequel setting. Check out the story to find out who and the new information released. Cheers!
"The controversy swirling around whether or not Activision plans on requiring subscriptions to play Call of Duty games like Modern Warfare 2 and the upcoming Black Ops online continues with a video that claims to have discovered membership plans on Xbox LIVE."
"Raven Software, the developer of sci-fi shooters Wolfenstein and the recently completed Singularity, has been pulled off its current projects and may be the latest studio to pick up the Call of Duty slack, according to a source close to the studio. Kotaku was told that the developer has had its next game, one based on the James Bond franchise—to which Activision holds the rights—put on hold."
Huge rumor flying around that Infinity Wards next title will be a MMO genre. No word yet whether this is true or not, but they are definitely hiring ex-MMO developers from companies such as Sony's EverQuest 2 and Blizzard.
"If you were looking forward to a big Xbox Live party when Modern Warfare 2 launches, it seems that Skype may be your best friend. It's being reported that Infinity Ward's FPS sequel will block Xbox 360 parties, meaning that you and your friends will have to be on the same team in order to chat"
This is the way all developer's should handle criticism over their content. Though an "Alternate Reality" this short, sweet, and to the point faux article would be welcome if only it were true. [Satirical]
"Think Activision was only putting out peripherals for their rhythm games? Think again. Infinity Ward's upcoming first-person shooter, Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox 360, PS3, and PC), may also get its own controller. If you're thinking of getting the Prestige Edition you might want to make sure you have some extra money for this as well."
"That’s right. According to The Hollwood Reporter, it seems that Activision have set up deals for “Call of Duty: The Movie”, the movie for the very popular video game.
“[The Call of Duty movie is] being talked about for the big screen,” said one person with knowledge of the deal.
However, in an interview prior to Thursday’s quarterly earnings conference call, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick wouldn’t comment on the status of Call of Duty becoming a film."
"A new set of maps for Call of Duty: World at War (due in June) wasn’t the only major piece of news floating around recently pertaining to Activision’s famed FPS series. Rumor has it that Treyarch’s next contribution to the series may center on Vietnam, based on Activision’s supposed efforts in obtaining rights for Vietnam War-era music."
