"Nobody can doubt that the Monster Hunter franchise is huge. Though it may not see the same reception as it does in Japan, the franchise has developed a pretty large fanbase here in the states. Featuring simple mission-based gameplay, coupled with a deep weapons and armors system, the Monster Hunter games are great, long lasting adventure RPGs. With Monster Hunter Freedom Unite's recent release on the PSP and Monster Hunter 3 soon seeing release on the Wii, now is a great time to jump on this ..."
With the success of the Monster Hunter series, Namco Bandai is readying a similar title to get in on some of the market share. Their take comes in the form of eerily familar God Eater for the PSP. The game allows 4 people to link up and take down monsters and features over a hundred missions and an assortment of weapons. It also seems like a multiplayer-heavy experience.
So far, the game has a fall Japanese release with no word on an international timeframe, although a North American trade...
"There is a 100% guarantee that every gamer out there will have come across something they really want from their gaming, or something they will continually moan about. If you don’t find yourself in that 100% of gamers, then you know you aren’t a true one, who probably owns one console and the game that came with it. Grinding My Gears is nothing to be taken too seriously, but you will notice that some of the issues may also appear in your gaming experience too, so come and discuss it with us!"
"No doubt still harboring a grudge about that time Godzilla remorselessly flattened the beautiful city of Tokyo, the people of Japan have made it abundantly clear that they rather enjoy hunting monsters. Capcom has announced that the PSP's Monster Hunter Freedom 2 G -- the G highlighting the fact that it's an expansion to the pictured, G-less mega hit -- has shipped one million copies in the land of the rising hunt.
It has managed to do so in just six days, further enforcing the publisher'..."
It's another zany sales week in Japan, with DS and Wii sales shooting through the roof in a Nintendo-dominated top ten, and some weird and disheartening PSP sales.
There was a flip-flop at the top of the rankings, as this week's top seller was last week's #2, Mario Party DS, selling 180k units. The #2 seller is last week's #1, Wii Fit, with 124k units sold. Rounding out the top five is the only non-DS/Wii game in the top ten, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (PS3 - 116k - BD Version), Professor L...
Pink Godzilla has listed the top 20 best selling games in Japan of 2007, so far.
The Playstation Portable snatches first place with the hit game, Monster Hunter Portable 2nd(Monster Hunter Freedom 2). However, the Nintendo DS takes 14 of the top 20 games. The PSP only getting that one, while the Playstation 2 gets a couple more. The Nintendo Wii takes the rest.
"Retail chain Gamestop is currently offering a deal concerning hit video game Monster Hunter Portable 2nd. According to its online listing, those who will pre-order the game from Gamestop will receive a Watermelon Pet Poogie Plush for free when the title finally ships this September.
Fans of the Monster Hunter franchise know well that the similar stuff toys were given out by Capcom before in relation to fans having issues with their copies of prequel title Monster Hunter Freedom. We didn't ..."
"
We guess we don't have to reiterate how huge Monster Hunter Freedom 2 is in Japan. And we are pretty sure that it's about to become bigger when it finally hits retail stores in North America, Europe, and the rest of PAL territories this September. But even though that's five months away from now, you've got to start practicing those monster hunting moves.
Here's a video of the game we found over at GameTrailers. It is actually a gameplay montage clip for Monster Hunter Freedom 2. ..."
