"A while back we had a survey here on Capcom-Unity asking all of you fans about one of your most loved games, Monster Hunter. You can see the survey here, and there was a LOT of data from all of you. It took a long time to compile all the information you sent from private message format to something we could use. Thank you so much for all of your answers! You guys rock!"

"Even with all the fall 2009 releases that were delayed into 2010, it's still been a heck of a year for games. Blockbusters everywhere! You couldn't walk to the bus without tripping over one, it seems. And with all that obsessing over the big-name hits, a huge number of worthy also-rans have gone almost completely overlooked by gamers at large. Well, that just doesn't sit right with us. Sure, we like the triple-A titles as much as the next batch of game-obsessed nerds, but we love the little g..."
"Ad-Hoc Party mode will allow Monster Hunter Freedom Unite gamers the freedom to embark together on quests without the need to be in close proximity of their fellow hunters. From devising strategies to executing attacks, players will need to work together as a team in order to hunt down the hundreds of ferocious beasts that await them and progress through the wide range of quests on offer."
"There are no experience points in Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. To gain skill, one must use his or her own skills to determine the outcome of a battle. It’s you—the player—that earns the experience, not the avatar that represents you. This is why Mike Got Game! would focus on delivering more PSP game guides, particularly for Monster Hunter Freedom Unite."
"Capcom is again giving away free downloadable quests for Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on the PlayStation Portable, but there’s a catch: you’re going to have to bring your PSP and copy of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite to Capcom’s booth at San Diego Comic-Con next week."
"Following the successful launch of the Monster Hunter Gathering Hall in London back on July 3rd, 2009, Capcom has announced plans to offer the space as a meeting ground for select hunting packs. In a release issued this weekend, Capcom revealed the opportunity to reserve a floor of the dedicated Monster Hunter venue for your own gaming event."
It's official. Congratulations, fellow Monster Hunters. It is our efforts that have pushed the series and one of the games, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (Including Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G), to sell over 3.5 million copies worldwide, a new record for a PSP title!
The latest Famitsu issue includes the top ten best-selling games in Japan during 2009 so far. The list is dominated by Nintendo DS games with four titles appearing on the top ten. The rest of it is filled evenly with PSP, Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii games. No Xbox 360 game managed to make the top ten best-selling list in Japan for 2009.
"The UK’s first Monster Hunter drop-in centre officially opened it’s doors today, as originally revealed by Electronic Theatre. The Gathering Hall is situated at 121 Charing Cross Road in central London - a stone's throw away from Tottenham Court Road tube station, and the cost of admission is a simply be to come equipped with a PlayStation Portable (PSP) and a copy of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite."
"Monster Hunter much? Then you’ll love this: Capcom announced that there’s a new quest for Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on the PlayStation Portable, and it’s available today. So before you take off for the holiday weekend, make sure you get the Triumvirate of Sands quest."
"London's Monster Hunter Gathering Hall is almost ready to be opened to the public. We've got some pictures showing off the cool art all over the inside and outside of the building. Above is the outside (obviously), and below is the amazing art you can expect to see on the inside."
With the success of the Monster Hunter series, Namco Bandai is readying a similar title to get in on some of the market share. Their take comes in the form of eerily familar God Eater for the PSP. The game allows 4 people to link up and take down monsters and features over a hundred missions and an assortment of weapons. It also seems like a multiplayer-heavy experience.
So far, the game has a fall Japanese release with no word on an international timeframe, although a North American trade...

If you haven't already heard, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite comes out today for North America, on the Sony PSP. Capcom has released a new launch trailer for its NA debut.
Video suggests you will be more likely to purchase this game if you live in the ghetto and dress super hip.
"Sony Japan just announced a couple of new PSP bundles, which combine the latest model of the handheld with a copy of Monster Hunter.
Specifically, it's a copy of Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G, and the PSP is one of the newer PSP-3000 units. The bundle will be offered in two colours, red and blue, which Sony says is "to match the image of the notorious monsters 'Teostra' and 'Lunastra' from the game".
They'll go on sale on July 23, and will cost ¥21,000 (USD$220)."

"As originally reported by Electronic Theatre back in May, Capcom have unveiled a public gathering space for the forthcoming Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on PlayStation Portable (PSP). The high-anticipated release is due to arrive on UK shores on June 26th, 2009, and Capcom’s “Gathering Hall” shall open shortly after, on July 3rd, 2009."
"Capcom have today revealed that latest effort in their Monster Hunter Freedom Unite European assault, teaming-up with Sony to deliver a specially branded PlayStation Portable (PSP) bundle for European gamers day-and-date with the software release."
"Capcom’s highly-anticipated Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is rapidly approaching European shop shelves, and to ensure all would be monster hunters are suitably prepared, Capcom have followed their inventive video tutorial releases with a demonstration version of the game, freely available to European gamers. As reported previously by Electronic Theatre, this demo version comes in two varieties: both a digital download, and as a limited run of Universal Media Disc (UMD) copies."
"The playable code at MCM Expo allowed for up to four players to embark upon one of three hunts (each of a prescribed difficulty), and was suggested to be similar (if not, in fact, identical) to the demo version soon to be released across Europe."
"There is a 100% guarantee that every gamer out there will have come across something they really want from their gaming, or something they will continually moan about. If you don’t find yourself in that 100% of gamers, then you know you aren’t a true one, who probably owns one console and the game that came with it. Grinding My Gears is nothing to be taken too seriously, but you will notice that some of the issues may also appear in your gaming experience too, so come and discuss it with us!"
"Yesterday, at the MCM Expo in London, Capcom revealed a grand plan for the forthcoming Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and the existing line of Monster Hunter titles. With an incredibly casual demonstration of the four-player hunts available in the new PlayStation Portable (PSP) release, Capcom subtly delivered the news of a more permanent space."
"Thousands of gamers, anime fans and cosplayers of widely varying quality descended on ExCel, an exhibition centre in London, for one of the biggest events in the collective industrys’ calendar today, the 15th MCM Expo. Running for two days, 23rd May and 24th May 2009, those few Electronic Theatre readers who managed to miss today’s show may just have enough time to organise the necessary travelling arrangements, and grab that Bomberman outfit they’ve been saving for a special occasion."
"As an alternative to downloading this demo Capcom is also producing limited numbers of the demo UMD’s which Gamers can register to be sent at www.encyclopedia-gigantica.com or www.capcom-europe.com from the 1st June. Successful registrants will receive four copies of the demo so that they can easily set up a hunting party."
Capcom recently sent out a notice announcing that the Monster Hunter Freedom Unite free demo is now available on PlayStation Network. You can download it to your PSP and see just what the Japanese are so crazy for.
The demo contains three quests -- Hypnocatrice, Plum Hermintaur, and an Epic Hunting Quest -- a number of pre-made characters for all available weapon types, some new monsters, and 4-player co-op support.
"To ensure that you are ready to take on the monsters when they arrive in the West next month, Capcom has sought the help of four of Japan’s most experienced hunters. Already they have handed over the Encyclopedia Gigantica and today sees the release of the first tutorial video. Featuring Daichi, an expert in planning and execution of quests, the tutorial will equip hunters with all the knowledge that they need to get started on their quests."
Electronic Theatre reports on the revelation of the Encyclopedia Gigantica for the forthcoming Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, and hosts thea reveal trailer.
"As you know from my many Monster Hunter blogs over the past few months, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is heading to the west. Unite packs over 500 hours of gameplay spanning some 400 missions. Above is a few of the brand new monsters, the Nargacuga, the Lavasioth, and the Hypnocatrice. Check out more info about the new monsters, screenshots, and features of the game released at Captivate09 after the jump."
A regular old Capcom extravaganza is what we have going on over on Neoseeker, in light of their CAPTIVATE 09 press event yesterday.
Needless to say, if you are a fan of the company's stuff, we've got heaps of new content to check out -- trailers, news (Resident Evil remake remake, oh yeah), screenshots...nummers.

"All you fans of hunting monstrous things can rejoice as Capcom is proud to announce the upcoming demo for Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. We were going to tease you about this a little more before announcing it, but one of the international ratings bodies spilled the beans for us.
The demo will feature multiple missions that can be played either Single Player, with the help of a Felyne knight, or Multiplayer. To help newcomers hunt some of the bigger beasties and get a taste of the deeper..."
"It’s a rare treat to be able to tell people that I’m working on the best selling game in Japan last year. To those who are unaware, they immediately think of PS3 games like Metal Gear Solid 4. Nope, my game outsold that and every other console game on the market.
The game? Monster Hunter for the PSP.
The latest version (Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G) was the top selling game in Japan last year and no amount of giant robots can change that. With over 3 million copies sold to date in Japa..."
"Here's the boxart for the North American release of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, as well as a new promo video (as seen in Home).
Capcom, please, please, please, bring out a Monster Hunter game on the PS3. Even an upscaled port of a PSP game as a PSN download. Anything. I want this on my TV, for extended play sessions. Please! How many more times should I say please? Three? Please, please please?"
