"I’ve always considered Motorstorm one of my most favorite racing series of all time. It’s not perfect by any means, and there’s still plenty of room for improvement – but it’s adrenaline pumping gameplay chocked full of dramatic thrills and over the top gameplay combined with the most simplistic of racing mechanics make the franchise not only exciting, but also extremely accessible and enjoyable for both newcomers and veterans alike. It’s in complete contrast to the realism and simulation bas..."

The latest ratings update provided by the Entertainment Software Rating Board includes a rather curious listing for MotorStorm 3D Rift on the Playstation 3.

Sony Australia officially announce the release of the first 3D game experiences for the Playstation 3. The stereoscopic 3D Collection includes PS3 classics WipEout HD, SuperStardustHD, PAIN, plus an exclusive single level demo of MotorStorm: Pacific Rift. Full details inside.

"The soundtrack sums it up perfectly; the immortal bassline from Lalo Schifrin's Bullitt theme thumps along, evoking the urban cool of one of cinema's most stylish car chases before it's ripped apart by a violent break-beat. On-screen herds of vehicles race through a city that's eating itself, whole office blocks tumbling and gun-toting groups on foot creating a scene of perfect chaos. It's an old standard given a fresh twist, and that's the perfect way to describe developer Evolution's latest..."

Could these images be from Motostorm 3? according to the source, they are real. From the first image it shows that it will take place in San Francisco, and in the last two it looks like the game is running in 3D.

"Following the introduction of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots to the European PlayStation 3 Platinum range earlier this year, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe have today confirmed a number of titles set to enter the range prior to the years’ end. With a UK Recommended Retail Price (RRP) of only £19.99, these titles are certainly likely to fare well alongside the recent Price reduction and redesign of PlayStation 3 hardware."

"In terms of gaming; I have managed to cram quite a bit in this week, despite the fact I should be revising for my pending examinations when I get back to school. I have unearthed some really nice titles for the Nintendo DS which I have been playing relentlessly, and I have also been getting hands on with Tomb Raider: Underworld, along with Stormrise and LittleBigPlanet. Apart from that, Battlefield Heroes has stolen an hour or so from my revision period along with short bursts of UFC Undisipu..."

"Motorstorm: Pacific Rift has got to be one of my favourite games to date, period. As a person who isn’t keen on the whole sim-racing scene, this dainty dish-up of off-road action actually got me back into racing games, and since then I have been diving into other titles including Burnout and Pure. Those who play Pacific Rift will know that it was released with trophies, offering harcore fans such as myself a real challenge amongst other games. However, Evolution Studios had hinted a trophy-re..."

After just recently announced by the Playstation.Blog, the PSP is getting a handful of new games. One of them is a the brand new Motorstorm: Arctic Edge. Taking one of the most brutal off road racers, throwing in top of the mountain and making it all portable. One interesting thing that can be noted in the trailer is a 2 brand new vehicles, the snow mobile and the snow plow. And of course, the trailer ends like every other Motorstorm trailers. How satisfying.

"And when I thought my Fall lineup couldn’t get any better; cue Motorstorm: Pacific Rift. The first game was a launch titles and is still one of the best Playstation 3 games to date, famous for its insane appearance and sheer intense races. I was such a huge fan of the first game and when I saw the shots for the next Motorstorm, you can imagine that I was hyped, and unlike many letdowns this year, Pacific Rift has delivered."

You probably remember the news article about the poor sales for Pacific Rift and the arguement about releasing at a bad time frame. Well it seems like the game has made a comeback and has sold 1 million copies worldwide. Which is a pretty good seeing as the first Motorstorm as sold a bit more then 3 million copies and has been out longer.

Well it seems that Motorstorm: Pacific Rift isn't selling to well. Which is really strange seeing as the first motorstorm sold more then 3 million copies. So why did this game barely sold any copies compared to its first title? Play.Blog discusses it suggesting that it could possible be the name of the game, or even the box cover. Either way, Pacific Rift is an amazing title that deserves better recognition.

"Here's another batch of flashy MotorStorm: Pacific Rift screens to drool over ahead of the game's launch on November 7.

The sequel to the popular PS3 launch-day racer takes the action to a tropical island where new environmental hazards become a factor, and new monster trucks enter the race."

1up has posted up their review for Motorstorm Pacific Rift. And it has been getting some good reviews, to some average reviews. It looks like this game is truely up to the gamer.

Final score= A-
You can check out other reviews from metacritic, which the game is currently averaging a 80/100 score.

"Released alongside PlayStation 3 in March last year, MotorStorm was a raw, single-minded distortion of the successful WRC series that gave Evolution Studios the opportunity to make it in the first place, introducing multiple vehicle classes to the same track and playing host to the seemingly cunning technical innovation of persistent surface deformation. But while the rutted surfaces left in the wake of each lap's storm of thundering metal - and the implications for those that followed - made..."

"That direction is of course a lush tropical island, an expansive paradise that provides a far more interesting and varied backdrop than the dreary dunes of the original game. The twisting, multiple-route tracks which are at the very core of the MotorStorm experience are back with a vengeance in Pacific Rift.

"SCEE has confirmed to D+PAD this afternoon that MotorStorm Pacific Rift will be going on sale in the UK on November 7th.

Evolution Studios’ “brutal off-road racer” is the first sequel to the PS3 launch title, with the desert setting of the original replaced by a lush (and thankfully, varied) tropical island.

So there you have it MotorStorm fans, you’ll be back on the dirt track in three weeks time."

"Since Day 1, I knew it wasn’t going to be easy to put a soundtrack together that would have the right vibe for a festival of racing like MotorStorm. You see, Music is one of those things that no one is ever “wrong” about. Everyone has an opinion, and everyone knows best, but no one is ever wrong! After countless discussions with various people involved in creating the Festival Infrastructure around the MotorStorm racing events, my challenge was set: I needed to put together a lineup that not ..."

"Motorstorm: Pacific Rift doesn’t look entirely different from the first game in terms of how it plays but the original was such a masterpiece that tampering with what they had already might have caused a burnout, so for now Evolution have closed the bonnet on changing the game’s core features. Pacific Rift is set to roll onto the scene in early November."

One thing some people complained about the first motorstorm was the few tracks with not much variety. So Evolution Studios decided to add 16 tracks, with a variety of beaches, volacnoes, deserts and thick jungles. The created a 'zone' style using the elements for the tracks (earth zone, fire zone etc.) Along side, they also recieved dozens of images for each track.

Motorstorm Mondays is a brand new thing on the Playstation blog. Covering Pacific Rift every monday untill release this October. This Motorstorm Monday is about the inspiration for the setting. On a vacation to hawaii after completion of the first motorstorm, and light bulb was light in the minds of the devs. Also Click the link to view the new trailer.

Haven't had a chance to play the MotorStorm: Pacific Rift demo because you're not a Qore subscriber? Maybe Sony didn't send it to you? Well, you now have your chance! If you pre-order the game over at a GameStop, you will be rewarded with a demo.

The Motorstorm Pacific Rift demo was released a few days past to Qore subscribers and a select few others. Just by glancing at Neoseeker forums it can be seen that not all are satisfied by the game. However there is still hope for the final product. As this member of NeoGAF shows the demo is extremely out of date, several months old and likely very different to what the title is like now. The pictures on the left are from a recent build previewed by IGN and the right is the demo build.

"Speaking to VideoGamer.com this morning a Sony Computer Entertainment Europe spokesperson has confirmed that the listing is a mistake and that it will be removed shortly. So there you go. Maybe the fan excitement over the listing will give Sony a reason to consider bringing the MotorStorm series to PSP in the future, but it's not happening just yet."

"This time around, the MotorStorm races will take place on a tropical island set amongst the lush jungle, emerald lagoons and towering peaks in the Pacific Ocean. Why is this important? The original MotorStorm introduced us to some fantastic racing through the desert landscape of Monument Valley. Although we delivered some wild tracks and terrain, the desert is the desert. With the topical island setting, players will be able to experience a much broader range of environments and terrain.

"You might check your email today and find out that you've been chosen as one of the lucky gamers to download the Motorstorm 2 demo. That'll make you happy. If not, you're probably not so pleased.

Sony has chosen to distribute the Motorstorm 2 single -player demo today to an unspecified number of randomly-selected PSN users. Why? We're not sure, but we can only guess it's to stop US users (who have to buy Qore to get the demo) from logging into the UK PS Store and snagging it for free."

"And thus, the latest rumor: according to Dutch gaming site PS3Life.nl, UK retailer GAME suddenly has a PSP listing for "MotorStorm" in their database. We keep hearing from Sony that we can expect several large surprises for the PSP next year, so perhaps this is one of them."

MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, a sequel to MotorStorm, may have some big names from other games joining in on the off-road fun. In the most-recent trailer for the game, D PAD Magazine may have spotted Dante, a main character in the Devil May Cry series. You can check out the trailer here.

This is coming from the same people who think Old Snake will make a appearance in the game too.

"Sony has announced they will be releasing a Motorstorm: Pacific Rift demo as part of QORE, their subscription-based interactive online magazine for the PlayStation Network. Those who download the upcoming episode - QORE: Episode 4 - will get access to the demo, and get to play it “a month before anyone else.”

After this month long wait the demo will then go live on PSN as a free download, and be available for all to grab about a week before the games retail release on October 7th

Two new Motorstorm 2 Pacific Rift gameplay videos have surfaced on French gaming site Jeux-France. The videos give a really good view of the vehicles and some of the levels we'll be racing on as well as showing spiltscreen mood and a glimpse of the menu's. See them at the source

"Evolution Studios’ Paul Hollywood revels in the job title of Creative Lead. A shaven-headed extrovert, he could, frankly, talk for England, so it’s always a pleasure to interview him. We managed to grab him at the recent PlayStation Day, and here are the insights into the forthcoming MotorStorm: Pacific Rift that he delivered.

Q: What’s new in MotorStorm: Pacific Rift?

PH: Well, we’ve kept all the fun bits, and added to it. We didn’t want to break the core and, obviously, with MotorSt..."

Phil "Game 3.0" Harrison has moved on, but the PS3 developers are still there and it looks like they haven't forgot his teachings. Christopher Grant, a blogger for Joystiq, took a handful of upcoming PlayStation titles out for a little test drive at Sony's Pre-E3 Judge's Event in LA and the one thing he noticed that he wrote down frequently was: community website. Motorstorm: Pacific Rim, Killzone 2, and plenty of other games will have community websites when they are released. It looks like ...

"There's a bigger, badder and more badass sequel coming out this year. You guessed it: MotorStorm Pacific Rift. There's more to be excited about in the sequel other than interactive vegetation. If you didn't hear, Pacific Rift is going to have twice the tracks of the original, and four-player split-screen racing (something sorely missing from the original).

Pacific Rift is also going to add a number of commonly requested features, such as a Photo Mode, which allows you to take screenshots f..."

"Speaking to VideoGamer.com at Sony's recent PlayStation Day Nigel Kershaw, MotorStorm Pacific Rift's game director, has revealed what it's like to develop for the PlayStation 3.

When asked if MotorStorm Pacific Rift is pushing the PS3 Kershaw said: "The first game pushed the PS3, this is pushing the PS3, our next game is going to push the PS3. It's not so much about pushing the hardware, it's about learning how to use the hardware in the best possible fashion."

He added: "We've realised..."

Here are some brand new screenshots of Motorstorm Pacific Rift. The game is taking a different route then the first game with the environment. It won't be in Monument Valley but on a jungle and desert island. The new game will have 16 tracks and 4 player split screen. Also monster trucks will be playable in this game.

"MotorStorm may have been a brand-new franchise for Sony's PlayStation 3, but developer Evolution managed to make a flat-out success of its simple formula for destruction. In another bold move, the developer has decided to ditch the dusty environment that made the first game so iconic, in favour of a brand-new tropical island setting. This time, Evolution has taken inspiration from the islands of Hawaii, where volcanoes, waterfalls, and crumbling cliffs will act as all-new hazards for the vehi..."
