So the gang here has held elections and are announcing our picks for games of the year. I am a bit disappointed some of my picks including Valkyria Chronicles (sleeper of the year IMHO), Braid, Mirrors Edge and The Witcher Collectors Edition didn't make the list along with Dead Space and an honorable mention for the episodic format of SIREN on PSN. That said, seeing Fallout 3 at # 1 made my year! GOTY folks, truly is.

That's right folks. Another week, another round of new video games being released. Kotaku's put up a list of games we can expect to find on Super Tuesday this week. Among these are Age of Booty and WALL-E for the Mac. The good ol' mystery boys aren't quite dead yet either, as Hardy Boys: The Hidden Theft makes its way to the PC this week as well.
Earlier today, EA and 1C Company agreed upon a deal, which will allow 1C to spread EA titles across Russia and "Commonwealth of Independent States nations".
Since 1C has gained a very positive reputation over the years about how they ship out games, it led EA to believe that they were the best way to go.

NHL 09 is one of many games in an ever expanding series of Ice Hockey. Set to be released very soon, this trailer is the perfect video to start increasing gamer interest.
Flippin' sweet week to be a DS owner, and well, if you're reading this (as in, on a PC), it's also a good time to be a gamer. Spore comes out for the DS and PC, sports fans get NHL 2K9 and NHL '09 to choose from on all consoles, and DS owners also get Viva Pinata, the fabulously old school RPG Mazes of Fate (finally!), another interesting looking RPG Lock's Quest, a new color for the system, and more.
EA Sports, the developer/publisher of NHL 09, has recently released a new NHL gameplay video for us to drool over.
The video gives a little glimpse of the Be a Pro mode, one of the new features that is being included in the game, as well as the four different positions that you'll be able to play as. Check out the video in the source.
Any Canadiens fan knows about the Canadiens Centennial event, which will be celebrating the 100th year of the amazing NHL franchise. EA Sports took knowledge of it and are putting in multiple Montreal legends in NHL 09.

Last year EA introduced Online Team Play (OTP) into NHL '08 which allowed multiple users to play on a team against other users. This year EA is expanding on that: ow all six positions are playable by human players for full 6v6 action. Except, you are going to play as you, a created player. Instead of whizzing around in the skates of a pro your name will be on the back of your jersey and you will level up your character. You can join teams with the goal of your team winning the EA Cup.
EA Sports, the producer of NHL 09, has announced a demo of their game to be released in late-August. The demo will contain playable aspects for a regular game as well as something from the new, Be A Pro Mode. Exact dates are expect to be released at a later date.
Andy Agostini, who is a producer for the NHL team, is in charge of these areas for the NHL 09 game: Dynasty, Database, Online, and Mulitplayer. He talks about what you will be able to do with the new features (Be a Pro) and the additions he made to other modes, like the Dynasty.
