Phantasy Star Portable

Phantasy Star Portable

If you recall, Sega has a teaser site a while back that teased a new RPG. The game was formally unveiled yesterday as Phantasy Star Portable 2 for the PSP, and Famitsu now has screenshots available on their website.

Phantasy Star Portable 2 takes place three years after the events of Pahntasy Star Portable 1. Your character will be a member of the civilian-run Little Wing, a mercenary group on the space colony resort Clad 6. There are two main characters who are your main compatriots in...

"Phantasy Star Portable is undeniably one of the best looking games currently available on PSP. The main storyline is elegantly delivered in 2D cut-outs and simply gorgeous Cut-Scenes, light-years ahead of most other releases on the system. Although the enemy Character Models are no more distinctive than earlier 3D outings, the amount of detail present on those in Phantasy Star Portable is quite impressive."

"As I keep reiterating, the PSP has a solid line-up this year, and could just lift itself from the edge of its deep grave. With high hopes for this year’s titles, SEGA have managed to push a game into the market that was a little unexpected due to its past success; the Phantasy Star series. It turned out to be a rather sour singleplayer exper..."

"The gameplay is split into several phases, firstly you will be navigating the map screens where you can collect missions, buy and sell items, or gather information. From the Guardian Headquarters you can access the mission counter, and from there you can travel to the mission field. However, before setting out you can either attack the mission by yourself or browse a list of available partners, building a party of up to 4 characters. Once your team is formed you can head out to the field wher..."
