Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

"It's pretty amazing when a series’ first game has been released three times, on three different systems, in under ten years. Welcome to the third release of the first Phoenix Wright, and the second for us in English speaking countries."

"The Nintendo DSi shop is also packed with delights this week, as both Electroplankton Beatnes and Electroplankton Hanenbow arrive at once. Sudoku fans will also be excited to hear that one hundred new tricky puzzles are now available to enjoy with SUDOKU SENSEI."

"The story kicks off with Phoenix Wright defending his childhood friend Larry Butz from a murder charge. But this is only the beginning drama for the tenacious legal eagle as Wright faces unexpected tragedies that will test the limits of his incredible deductive prowess. In May, owners of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney will be able to download the bonus episode that appeared in the original Nintendo DS version of the game, for only 100 Wii Points."

"Have an iPhone? You can play Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney on that too.

An iPhone version was revealed at a creator’s talk with Takeshi Tezuka, General Manger of Capcom’s mobile division, in Apple’s Ginza store. Since it’s a port there aren’t new cases, but Capcom modified the Phoenix Wright interface to a bit. Now you can rotate through menu choices with finger flicking.

Details like an international release and pricing were not announced. Other mobile phone ports of Phoenix ..."

"Capcom Entertainment has today announced that three classic Ace Attorney games are scheduled for digital release on Nintendo’s WiiWare next year. The series of WiiWare releases will begin right at the start, with Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney followed by Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Justice for All, and Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trails and Tribulations. Gamers can expect the deliberations to begin January 2010, with a price of 1,000 Wii Points each."

Scans from this week's issue of Weekly Famitsu have surfaced, revealing that Capcom will be indeed be bringing the Gyakuten Saiban/Ace Attorney series to WiiWare.

From the partial scan we have, it looks as the game will use the Wii Remote only, making use of the pointer function to select options. Button presses will be able to bring up menus, such as the Court Record; it'll probably function more like the GBA versions of the games.

The release schedule, so far announced only for Japan...

Popping up on the Germany's USK rating system is a pretty interesting one for today: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. However, the system listed is not for the DS, but rather the Wii, so we could see a console version of Capcom's courtroom adventure title.

Such an idea is not out of the question, as the series was ported to the PC in Japan last year.

Hopefully yelling Objection! at a TV near you soon.

Here's an interesting piece of information. Ryota Niitsuma, the producer for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, said that they had initially wanted to include Phoenix Wright and Franziska von Karma from the Ace Attorney games. However, they ran into problems when trying to come up with a possible moveset (specially in regards to his famous catch phrase) and as a result, they decided to exclude him from the roster. But Niitsuma has hinted that his appearance in future games is an open possibility.

"When the DS was launched quite a while back now, the first thing I noticed is that it had the expected releases such as a Mario, Zelda and Metroid game, however there was also a very long and pending list of experimental titles which you would have never have thought of before. One example of this experimental type of game is of course Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training for the DS, that became a sounding success and of course led to the sequel: More Brain Training. Nintendogs was also a game th..."

"In terms of gaming; I have managed to cram quite a bit in this week, despite the fact I should be revising for my pending examinations when I get back to school. I have unearthed some really nice titles for the Nintendo DS which I have been playing relentlessly, and I have also been getting hands on with Tomb Raider: Underworld, along with Stormrise and LittleBigPlanet. Apart from that, Battlefield Heroes has stolen an hour or so from my revision period along with short bursts of UFC Undisipu..."
