If you have never had the ultimate joy of playing Pikmin on the Gamecube, then you may not know the weight of this announcement. This acclaimed title will be making its way to the Wii U. Check out the full story for all the details.

"GameCube strategy game Pikmin might have been inspired by Shigeru Miyamoto's gardening, but do you know why he made the game?

"Every once in a while, you want to make something that high school girls can get into," the famed Nintendo creator said at a recent symposium.

The concept behind Pikmin, reports Japanese site 4Gamer, was to make something that they could play."

Nearly a year ago, Shigeru Miyamoto said that Nintendo were making a new Pikmin game, not just the New Play Control! Versions. When asked why Pikmin 3 was not announced at E3 2009, Shigeru replied that Pikmin 3 is going to take some time to make and be announced due to the lack of team members creating it. Pikmin 3 may not be announced until E3 2010 or even E3 2011.

N-Europe has made a confirmation after discussion with Nintendo. GameCube remake range will also be released in Europe! The only letdown is there is no currently known date for it.

Known under the name "Play on Wii", these GameCube favourites are being released again for the Nintendo Wii.

Pikmin and Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat are two currently known titles to planned to be remade.

At the Nintendo Fall Press Conference today, Nintendo announced that they will be rereleasing some GameCube classics under a new label: "Wii de Asobu Selection" roughly translated by Chris Kohler as "Games You Can Play on Wii Selection". One of these games will include Pikmin.

Also revealed was a new game from Sonic Team creator Yuji Naka's studio, called "Let's Tap".
