"Pikmin 2, originally released in the summer of 2004, is a real-time strategy game in which you take control over Olimar, the original game’s protagonist, and Louie, his assistant. Olimar and Louie return to the planet of the pikmin to find treasures in an attempt to get their company out of debt."
Nintendo is known for some of the best video game franchises in the history of the industry. This past decade saw the debut of many great new franchises from them.
Nearly a year ago, Shigeru Miyamoto said that Nintendo were making a new Pikmin game, not just the New Play Control! Versions. When asked why Pikmin 3 was not announced at E3 2009, Shigeru replied that Pikmin 3 is going to take some time to make and be announced due to the lack of team members creating it. Pikmin 3 may not be announced until E3 2010 or even E3 2011.
"With the recent release of the New Play Control! Pikmin game, I figured this was a good time to write about it. I adore the Pikmin series, its a brilliant real time strategy game on a micro scale. Since we got official confirmation of a Pikmin 3 last year, well hopefully see it land Christmas or next spring. What do I want in it? Well "
During the Nintendo's Developer Roundtable, GAFfer and video game journalist Chris Remo asked Shigeru Miyamoto and Katsuya Eguchi about core gamers and whether a Pikmin game was in development.
The response:
"We're making Pikmin"
