"Q-Games' Dylan Cuthbert doesn't like you, cheap gamer. When quizzed by Develop, the PixelJunk creator described one thing that disappointed him most about the industry: gamers that refuse to open up their wallets. "Gamers complaining about our games being too expensive at 10 dollars. I'm not sure this is an industry problem, but it seems ridiculous that people complain about that price point." Cuthbert seems particularly sensitive about this issue, noting the rampant piracy of PixelJunk Monst..."
"Q-Games' adorable tower defense title PixelJunk Monsters is getting a wee bit smaller this week with the release of its somewhat ironically named, PSP-sized adaptation, PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe. Though technically tinier in stature, the game offers all the strategic defending of the PS3 version of the title, while adding a new island, new monsters and even a few new towers into the mix. The game also gets a few multiplayer options, including a local four-player cooperative mode and an eight-..."
"Sony’s online community for the PlayStation3 will soon be getting a big dose of Q-Games love, in the shape of a new Home Space dedicated to the PixelJunk(TM) series. We’re working hard to bring PixelJunk Home."
"Twitter is quickly become the go to place for finding up to the minute (literally) news. Our latest glimpse into the twitterverse shows the founder of Q-Games Dylan Cuthbert tweeting about future projects. Yesterday he tweeted, “non-PJ prototypes are going well.. one project almost finished, another four moving along nicely, hopefully see the light of day eventually.”"
"A recent twitter post by the Dylan Cuthbert, one of the developers, is leading us to believe that the game will be released to the public soon.
“About to go collect an order of MOS burgers for everyone still at Q working on the PixelJunk 1-4 demo”
Now I know what you're thinking and as much as I also want a burger, I want to see this game in action. We have high hopes Q Games, but don't worry, we know you won't let us down."
Some indie developers have spoken out against Q-Games, a quite famous developer among the PSN community. They say that Q-Games are not 'Indie Enough' even though Q-Games proclaim that they are very often and them being involved in the indie gaming scene. What is your take on this? Do you think their success is one thing that Indie devs are jealous of Q-Games success, or are they really not indie enough.
There is some kind of special charm that the PixelJunk games have, the last two have been very popular on PSN, that they will receive ports to the PSP. Now PixelJunk fans won't have to wait long to see the next, which has been confirmed to be revealed at GDC. GDC is currently set for March 26th, and this is one of the two or three new PixelJunk games.
"What can you tell us at this point about the future of the PixelJunk series?
KY: A new team has started in on the next PixelJunk project. We have not yet begun publicizing the game, but it is on schedule to be released in early 2009. Another title in the series is Dungeons, which we announced at back at the Game Developers Conference.
This is a PixelJunk installment, but we are planning to spend more time on the development, so the release will follow after the fourth PixelJunk game in..."
PixelJunk has become of the highly rated PSN games around, either in reviews or fans of the games. Well Q-games has announced that they will try and release 2 or 3 more PixelJunk games in 2009. No word on what they are, but expect them to be a little quirky and weird. Click on the link to read Q-games happy new year's greeting.
"Wait we still IN 2008?
The Christmas episode of Sony’s Pulse has given us the lowdown on which of the raft of games available on the PlayStation Network sold best in the last twelve months. Quite surprisingly - given the nature of the game - PAIN takes the number one spot, with the likes of the confusing flOw and the bizarrely-named High Stakes Poker Edition helping to fill out the rest of the places.
Strangely theres no mention of WipEout HD or PixelJunk Eden, but they could be slow-bu..."
"Looks like more PS3 games are coming to the PSP. The popular tower defense game, PixelJunk Monsters, is heading to the PSP. In fact, there's going to be more content than ever before. This is great news, especially because we're not too fond of using Remote Play to stream games. We can't wait to see more when the game comes out in 2009. To find out more about the game, check out all the news on PS3 Fanboy."
A very cool update for any Monsters fans out their. A new update is coming at it will add trophy support. The trophies are not retroactive but, Q-games wanted to be nice so they made separate challenges for the trophies. They also added a difficulty settings seeing as this is one of the hardest games on PSN. So now you can unlock those rainbows and still progress the game on regular difficulty. New feature is the ability to video record your game much like Eden, and now you can listen to your...
"We've stumbled across a tantalizing bit of news on a rather intriguing PSN title today. It appears that the curious PixelJunk Eden will finally arrive in the hands of gamers in July, but not in the form one might expect. Unlike the past entries in the PixelJunk canon (Racers and Monsters), Eden will receive a demo prior to its official release, according to Q-Games' head Dylan Cuthbert. Cuthbert also reconfirmed Youtube support for Eden and brought up the possibility of a minuscule but free p..."
The upcoming game in the PixelJunk series is PixelJunk Eden. A physics based game where you are a dot and have to travel through the level of vegitation. Some nice features about this game have been revealed. It will have remote play which means you can play this game on your PSP anywhere in the world. Which is an awesome feature, sadly not much games do this. And it will also have trophies for Home.
Peter Dille, Senior Vice President of marketing at Sony, and the guy in charge of the PSN has posted a blog post on the official US Playstation blog. In it, he discusses how this year will lead to massive expansions in terms of the PSN's service.
According to him, the three major goals for the year are to provide the best free online gaming possible, providing 'digital media download services', and providing 'original content'.
The two major things that he revealed though, are that a d...
