A concept for a hybrid motion/gamepad controller for the PlayStation 4. It could help gameplay by making the motion control much easier to use selectively in parts of games where it's most useful.

"Sony Playstation is known for its avant-garde ad campaigns which are usually quite shocking in nature. The ads seem to suggest that the PS3 allows the player to experience an altered state of reality where the real and the unreal merge. Moreover, the PS3 ads seem to indicate that the reality which is mundane and boring is made interesting thanks to the virtual fun and adventure that PS3 consoles provide in the form of video game entertainment."

The PS3 will be receiving a special Final Fantasy XIII hardware bundle (at least in Japan) when the game is released. Here's some pictures of what the white and pink PS3 and its boxing look like.

Here's an interesting ad from Best Buy and Geek Squad -- you know, that tech assist service for people who don't know how to open their disc trays?

"Recent Playstation advertising has been described, by some circles, as being creative, effective and memorable. By others, down right controversial. In the beginning, the advertising for the original Playstation was reasonably conservative, and demonstrated with ease the product they were selling, without trying to shock or mind blow anyone. Nice and simple. With the arrival of the PS2, and perhaps realizing that the vast majority of the PS2 sales were for adults, the advertising took a downw..."

E3 2009 is set to be a lot bigger and better than last year's E3 and Kotaku was able to snap some pictures of what the lucky visitors will be able to see. I must say, it looks pretty impressive, especially the Final Fantasy XIII stairs.

This is what happens when you have an x-ray machine and too much free time.
A gamer named Reintiji's uploaded a whole set of x-rays to Flickr, everything from a PS3 to Gameboy cartridges and even a coconut.

With update 2.4 nearing release (no date officially announced), we're bound to get some leaked bits of information and MaxConsole's Medran has done just that, giving us a glimpse of how the 2D Trophies will appear in the game with a screenshot and two videos that were unfortunately taken down. We all know by now that a a 40GB PS3 is coming soon at the price of $399. But how will Sony let people tell the difference of the 40GB between the 60GB and the 80GB without reading the fine print? Well there going to make the 40GB a nice ceramic white. This new PS3 will hit Japan in November 11th, But no word if it will come out in any other regions.

The current Playstation Network isn't the friendliest of places when your looking for something specific, and god knows that it can definitely be tweaked to appeal more to the masses. But how exactly should it be tweaked? Well StuntF50, a member of the GameTrailers forums has created a mock-up of how he thinks it should look (and I'll state it now, it was inspired by XBOX Live).

Personally, I would love for my Playstation Network to look similar to that, but I wouldn't mind this design eit...

It seems that some member of the PSU forums has managed to find themselves a picture of the PS3 being able to support a "Chatroom" feature. Could this very well be a new feature which will be released in upcoming versions? Or is the picture the handywork of someone with some Photoshopping talent? Take a look at the picture below, and decide for yourself.
