The media is continuing its campaign against Sony, attacking the victim of one of the most elaborate hacker attacks in gaming history.
Rumor suggests that having all content missing updated for re-launch of the PSN Store be the most logical way to bring the network back up rather than asking gamers to hold out and wait even longer than they already have for content that has expired release dates and is available on other platforms.
PlayStation Network's "Welcome Back" package is a great value for users who don't own all of the offered content, however, is it possible Sony have overlooked the average user who was most severely affected by the outage? The "Hardcore" gamer?

"It is still unclear who actually hacked the PSN, but the effects were far reaching. Millions of people were left wondering if their personal information was at risk and in the hands of people who meant to sell it, or if it had already been used. Either way, Sony needs to be on top of their game and had better hope that their 22 days of work pay off because hacker group Anonymous has promised to hack the network again."

"Game developers and publishers love to complain about lost revenue. They tell us that we are evil for selling our old games to GameStop. They tell us that we are cruel for buying used software because they don’t get a cut of the profits. They insist that if we move to some magical, online-only world, these issues will be removed, piracy will be obliterated, and the game industry will forever flourish."

One thing that the PlayStation nation has been wondering about since the hacker intrusion is the effect it will have on their trophy count. We finally received an answer from Sony and it is good news.
"There are two things I’m sick of hearing about this week. One is the royal wedding, which was, admittedly, delightful and is now, thankfully, over. The other is how the PSN being down is Sony’s fault and that we are somehow entitled to something in return. Initially I did not want to add to the endless discussions but every time I read something about this it makes me think about John Malkovich in Burn After Reading in that I feel like shouting “what the f**k?!” over and over again at the int..."

The fallout of Sony’s chaotic PlayStation Network hacking crisis is going to result in massive losses for the company. How will Sony compensate consumers for their personal information being stolen, like their names, addresses, PSN account usernames & passwords, and credit card information?
"If you wanted to play SOCOM 4, Mortal Kombat, or Portal 2 online and were enraged that you couldn’t do so on your PlayStation 3, well, let’s just say that the unavailability of online gaming should be the least of your problems. PSN users are now being asked to monitor their credit card info closely, as an unknown hacker has managed to breach private information: that entails names, addresses, and phone numbers in addition to the aforementioned credit card info."
PlayStation Network down lately and getting worse is the situation with the information that has been compromised on the PSN. Apparently the Terms and Conditions had some interesting wording that may void out the recent class action lawsuit.

PlayStation Network is down and people aren't happy about it but there is a possibility now that the PSN may get some great new features added to it when it is finally brought back online.
Sony is really trying hard to win the support of it's customer base, aren't they? In the Playstation Network's Terms and Conditions, apparently we've all agreed to absolved Sony....
"Yeah things aren’t looking to well for Sony at this stage. If my Twitter feed is any indication people are angry and rightfully so. Sony had suspicions of the problems and should have notified people that their information may have been compromised from the onset. While they may have chosen to maintain silence until they were absolutely certain it still paints them in a bad light. No matter how hard they work to fix this problem they are stuck in a PR nightmare that I do not envy."
Huge Story today as it seems that the PSN outage that has lasted for over a week now is not going to be fixed anytime soon. Check out the post to get the official word on the matter.

"With so much confusion and speculation about what exactly PSN+ is and the question of its value, I have decided to create a list of the features I hope that it has. These features are not a wish list, but an expansion and explanation of what I believe the touted features should be like. There is also a theory about Steam floating around the internet; I will get to why this is a possibility in a bit."
"Finally (also: BINGO)! Cross-game chat is coming to the PlayStation Network! After what seems like years of demand, Sony has announced cross-game chat, which allows PSN members to talk to each other, even while playing different games. "As I was typing up this nugget of opinion last night, I was completely unaware of the so-called “downfall” of the PlayStation Network. However, when I tried to boot up Heavy Rain or even access PSN, I was shut out by error codes which seem to be plaguing the entire PlayStation community. The purpose of this article isn’t to kick a man while he’s down, it’s simply a gentle nudge at a few feature or improvements Sony could make, in order for the PlayStation Network to be a more enjoyable medium:"

We only enjoy making games if at least a few people play them! So everyone, hook your PSPs up to the store and download some games!”"
"The latest Playstation Store update came with a current list of the top downloads on the Playstation Store.

"Every Thursday the PlayStation Store updates across the globe, bringing specific content to individual regions as well as demos, trailers and downloadable content for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable. This week’s European Store update was rather mundane, with an NBA 2K10 demo, some special offers, videos and two dynamic themes. However, Mike Kebby, SCEE PlayStation Store Team member, has promised that next week’s update will be far bigger."
"It’s been a few weeks since firmware update 3.00 launched on the PlayStation 3, signifying the dawn of the PS3 Slim. After seconds of release, thousands of PlayStation users flocked back to their gaming forums to moan about how minimal and bland the update had been. Apart from technical fixes, the update also raked in plenty of visual changes to the Cross Media Bar (XMB.) Fonts had been broadened, a sparkling animated effect had applied itself to the classic background, friends on your contac..."
Firmware update added one feature that many people complained about, the 'Whats new' feature underneath the network icon. While many find this annoying, it has proven to be great feature for developers. The creators of Burn Zombie Burn have seen a 40% sales increase because of this form of advertising and we can expect other PSN games to sales burst. So you might not like the 'whats new' icon, but dev's sure do love it.
"Recent Playstation advertising has been described, by some circles, as being creative, effective and memorable. By others, down right controversial. In the beginning, the advertising for the original Playstation was reasonably conservative, and demonstrated with ease the product they were selling, without trying to shock or mind blow anyone. Nice and simple. With the arrival of the PS2, and perhaps realizing that the vast majority of the PS2 sales were for adults, the advertising took a downw..."

"A day late this week, unfortunately the last update of August 2009 is looking to be a bit on the slim side. Sony is likely saving the big guns for the PS3 Slim's official release, but word on the street is that it's already available.

"Prepaid PlayStation Network cards currently come in two flavors: $20 and $50. For those of you that don't want to shell out the big bucks on the PSN will be glad to know that a new variation is coming: the $10 denomination. Best Buy has a listing for the cheaper card, in addition to a $20 prepaid LittleBigPlanet-branded "collectible art" card. While this isn't the most exciting news around, it's nice to know our credit card-less friends have a few more options than they did before."

We also have some really exciting DLC this week in WipEout HD Fury, and Killzone 2: Napalm and Cordite. Trine developers Frozenbyte have said that Trine is coming before the end of July so t..."
"Unfortunately players may get suspended from Sony’s PlayStation Network. If said player is especially naughty they will be banned. An avid Resistance: Fall of Man fan managed to get banned from PSN. Generally players will create a new user and take the loss. Only on this occasion this PSN user has filed suit in U.S. District Court in California against Sony."
"Achievements / Trohpies have been in video games for many years, though not in the way we know them now. Goldeneye on the Nintendo 64 rewarded players who completed goals with guns, cheats & special modes, while Spyro 2 on the original PlayStation rewarded players who unlocked 'Skill Points' with extra lives."
"One of the most pleasant surprises at this year's E3 was the viral breakout of a little known PSN game called Shatter. Tucked away in an art exhibit in a no man's land, Shatter started gaining word of mouth among several of the press on the last day of E3 2009. Playing conditions at this lone kiosk were less then ideal yet throughout the day word kept spreading about this trippy little title."

""You're not going to see Trophies on the PSP," explains PSN director Eric Lempel. Well, that's one good idea buggered.
Lempel explains that piracy is a huge part of the reason why Trophies aren't coming to PSP: "If people can artificially inflate their rankings and amounts of Trophies, it kills the whole Trophy system." According to Lempel, "keeping it secure, keeping it fair" is the order of the day, meaning that no Trophies will ever come to handhelds."
We learned three days ago that throughout E3, the PlayStation Store would be constantly updated. Sony has fulfilled that promise, adding the Uncharted 2 E3 trailer, Final Fantasy VII for the PS1, and tons of other things.
"Resident Evil 2 was released on the PlayStation Store in Japan on December 26, 2007 as a Playstation Classic. Capcom have now said that they are planning to release the game on the US PSN and that they "hope to bump that up the priority list of "things to do" after HD Remix is out the door." "There's a lot of internal issues to work out to get that rolling properly." added the rep."
One of the best and most popular RPGs of all time is becoming a PSOne Classic in North America. Final Fantasy VII just got an ESRB rating for the PSP and Playstation 3. The game can already be downloaded from the Japanese Playstation Store since April 16, 2009.
"The famed title that created an entire video game genre, Wolfenstein 3D offers players a chance to experience the intensity of escaping from Castle Wolfenstein all over again. Classic enemies like Hans Grosse and Mecha-Hitler await players in the six episodes that span 60 levels. Wolfenstein 3D is rated 18 by the BBFC."
It looks like North America's PSN will soon be catching up to the Japanese PSN's abundance of PSOne classics, with Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil: Director's Cut, Spec Ops: Covert Assault, Spec Ops: Ranger Elite and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six all ready to be released stateside.
"So what is Zombie Apocalypse about?
Zombie Apocalypse is pure and gory wish fulfillment. We wanted to strip off the woes of increasingly complex modern mega-games, and retreat back into the world of dank arcades and late-night movie rentals that was our childhood in the 80’s and 90’s. This was not a game in search of a hook, beyond perhaps one to skewer a zombie on. Our goal was to produce a pure arcade shooter, rooted in dual-stick classics such as Robotron: 2084 and Smash TV. We knew it ..."
This is the Global Update for 05/14/09, and it features the 4 major territories in the PS Network; North America, Europe, Hong Kong, and Japan. Enjoy.
"Move over, Magic Ball. PlayStation Network is getting yet another twist on the classic brick-breaking genre courtesy of Sidhe, "New Zealand's largest game studio." You'll know how to play Shatter just by looking at the trailer: use a paddle to bounce an object back and destroy bricks. However, this isn't your father's Breakout. Expect a variety of power-ups, special attacks and, yes, boss battles.
"
"While there hasn’t been a single PSOne Classic title released in 2009 so far, Sony does have several games in the pipeline. Thanks to the ESRB, gamers can take a glance at the future PSOne Classics appearing on the Playstation Store."
".deTuned is a bit of an odd beast that offers an abstract and surreal interactive experience like nothing else. It is not exactly a game or an art piece like Linger in Shadows. It allows you to create your own visual to accompany your favorite music tracks on the XMB, and using the SIXAXIS™ Wireless Controller, you will be able to manipulate the given scene by interacting with and modifying a man and his world. It even lets you tweak your music as you play with it."
PixelJunk 1-4 was recently announced, you can check out the trailer here. While the trailer is impressive, you might have missed out one some info. Eurogamer got a chance to play the game and they tell you how well it plays, and some more info about the gameplay.
"In what will inevitably go down as the worst kept industry secret in recent years, I’m very happy to finally be able to confirm that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 will be coming to Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network this summer.
The deal took a good while but it’s probably our most requested title to bring back, so Marvel and I and a few other people here at Capcom rolled up our sleeves and got it done. I can’t stress enough, if you ask for something loudly enough and long enough, we’ll work ..."
Binge Gamer writes: "Japan has all the luck. While PS3 owners in the States sit here with a bland selection of PSOne classics, the Japanese have just about every game under the sun."
Listing a handful of the better PSOne Classics available on the Japanese PSN, Binge Gamer's Perry Piekarski suggests that Sony does everything in its power to bring them to North American gamers.
Gamercars seem to be the thing nowadays among forums and apps are all the rage for iPod touch's and iPhones. Well whats better then adding the two together? Now you can be in the latest style with this brand new app that allows you to check your trophies on the go.
Now for some odd reason, the article states that the app is priced near around 2 dollars. Yet after I checked the app store I found listed as free. You can check for yourself.
"We’ve all had the same thought. With the enourmous library of PlayStation One titles at Sony’s disposal, why haven’t more PSOne Classics made their way to the PS Store?
Well soon enough, you won’t have to ask that question again, as the word is that Sony will be bringing a big chunk of PSN classics to the North American PS Store."
"We're still a little shocked that Ghetto Golf is actually a reality. If Shooter McGavin could see golf being represented like this, we're not sure what would go down. Regardless, some new screenshots have been release for the upcoming downloadable title and they appear to show a tad bit of promise from what we can gather."
The current profiles on the Playstation 3 are nothing but bare, with limited information, and a somewhat bland profile itself. Well, what one member has done, is redesign the Playstation Profile in the image that he feels it should appear as, which can be seen below, and it certainly is one that I'd personally love to see. So take a look and give your feedback on the layout.
Note that this is completely fan-made and so chances of it being realised are slim to none.
People have been asking for it for awhile now and Square Enix have answered. Let's just hope it eventually makes its way to the NA and PAL PlayStation Stores.
"Some of whats in this weeks PSN Store Update is two new demos FLOCK and Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection. Another edition of PULSE is now available, they take a look at Rag Doll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic, FLOCK and Puzzle Quest: Galactrix. Also some new DLC and videos are ready for download."
"Hi everyone, we’re adding some great new features with the next PS3 firmware update (v2.70) that will continue to enhance your connected experience on the PS3. The 2.70 update brings a new Text Chat feature that enables you to communicate online with your PlayStation Network friends. Now, you’ll be able to chat with up to 15 online friends using the Wireless Keypad, on-screen keyboard, or other compatible keyboard peripherals. Not only can you chat with your friends instantly, but you can als..."
"Trash cans, water jugs and broken glass are just some of the instruments being used in the musical score of inFamous, the upcoming PS3-exclusive adventure. SCEA Music Manager Jonathan Mayer is using his experience with God of War II and Uncharted to overlook the game's distinct sound, one that "encapsulate[s] the gritty and decimated nature of Empire City." Not only are unconventional instruments being used, traditional orchestral instruments are being played in very non-traditional ways. "Bu..."
"Vicious Cycle Software, developers of Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard, had previously announced plans for a downloadable title based on the up-and-coming franchise, and in a Questions & Answer session revealed to Electronic Theatre that the game would arrive of both Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network this Summer."
"However, what does seem a reasonable measurement of success would be a comparison of the revenues earned by each service. According to reports that have surfaced today, Microsofts XboxLIVE! service has generated more than five times as much revenue as Sonys network. PlayStation Network is believed to have generated revenues totalling $180 million, while XboxLIVE! revenues are suggested to have surpassed the $1 billion mark."
"Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) today announced that the cumulative number of registered accounts on PlayStation Network worldwide has exceeded twenty million as of February 20th, 2009."
"Microsoft's online service costs $50 a year, if you don't find a card on sale, and Sony wants to show you what you could be buying with that money if you were online with your PS3. You have to give it to them: $50 on the PlayStation Network gets you some pretty great stuff.
"Rather than paying a $50 subscription fee that competitors charge for on-line services, PlayStation Network users could put that money towards a variety of content," the company claims. What could you get?"
"SCEA is planning a massive assault of PlayStation Network downloadable games this Spring. The "Spring Fever" campaign begins this week with Flower. It will continue every week after that with one (or more!) new games available on the PlayStation Store. Next week's entry: Noby Noby Boy (video above).
Other PSN-exclusive games to come in the next few weeks include No Gravity (PSP), Wheel of Fortune, Burn Zombie Burn, Ragdoll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic and The Punisher: No Mercy. Multi-platfor..."
"Psyonix Studios announced today that Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars is now available across Europe for download on the PlayStation Network for the PLAYSTATION3 computer entertainment system."
Playstation Network as come a long since its launch. Not its time to look at some hard cold numbers. Some are quite impressive, approximatly 17 million users are registered to PSN.

"Following the success of Qore for American PSN users, Future Publishing are now to offer a simalar service to PlayStation Network for those of us in the UK. This will be known as OPM: HD and as from the title you probally have worked out that it is being created by the same people who released the official PlayStation Magazine here in the UK."
"The PlayStation Network has received a small update for European gamers this week. Though not actually requiring any downloading, patching or updating on the PLAYSTATION3 system itself, European PLAYSTATION3 owners can now synchronise their PlayStation Network Account stored on their PLAYSTATION3 console with that at the PlayStation Networks online portal, eu.playstation.com..."
Despite what some sites claim Playstation Home has a lot to offer, whether it be watching videos at the Theatre, socialising in the Plaza or even buying things at the Mall there is a fair bit to experience. However Home is not identical for each person, in fact depending on which region you live in can drastically alter what you can see and do. IGN have explored the three major regions, the UK, US and Japan and offer their view of the subject. Which basically amounts to "Why can't every regio...
A bug has been reported on the PlayStation Network when changing a userID or password. The bug seems to make certain games unplayable after making changes to a user account. A few solutions have been suggested for fixing the problem.
"Today Ubisoft revealed that they're working on a first-person shooter for both Xbox 360 and PS3. CellFactor: Psychokinetic Wars will be available on PSN and Xbox Live in early 2009.
CellFactor is a "battle of technology vs. humanity" and puts a number of high-tech weapons and telekinetic powers at the disposal of players."
A story posted here on Grep, "CNN - 360 is killing PS3, can't compete," contained many inaccuracies that need to be seen. PS3 may be third place monetarily in comparison to other consoles, however the reasons the original article stated are not necessarily truths.
Presented by Playstation Network, Sony today, through the Official Playstation Blog announced the release of Pulse. A new show available on Playstation.com that will keep fans in the know about Playstation News.

"Sony have finally taken a page out of Microsoft's book by launching MyPSN. MyPSN allows gamers to track online friends, create a personal and portable ID and also allows the ability to take part in various events.
Your ID contains your PSN avatar, Online ID, current mood, favourite console and more, all of which can be embedded to be used in forum signatures.
Sony also say that 'Over time, the portable ID will evolve to include Trophies and achievments.'

You probably have seen the short commercials around, either on tv or the internet about "Starting your wish list". Well those were just sneak peaks at the final commercials wich are just amazing. Three commercials. The first video are the "start your wish list" ad's that lead up to the final two. The second one is all about the games and blu-ray movies. The final one is all about the Playstation Network.
"Breaking news for all the Playstation fans: Playstation Underground is coming to an end, and when it does, your membership will expire. The Playstation Network (PSN) will take place of Playstation Underground. The PSN, as many of you know by now, gives you access to a growing population of enthusiastic gamers, friends and competition."
"We unearthed three PSN games from Creat Studios a few weeks ago. But, what the heck are they? Creat Studios has finally officially unveiled them. All three games will feature Trophy support, and will be released this Winter.
Magic Ball: is based on the classic Breakout arcade game, with a magical twist. Check out a video here. The initial release will include over 40 levels and both local and online multiplayer support. 20 additional levels will be available at a later date."
"Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH will release a completely updated and enhanced version of its popular GTi Club arcade game for PLAYSTATION3 via the PlayStation Store on December 4th, 2008..."
With the decrypting of the beta client for Sony's PlayStation Home service, it would potentially allow homebrew apps and game backups without hard drive swapping. Now while this may be good for some (none of us as it is highly illegal), the rest of us have to wait for Sony to patch up the security holes in Home. And yes, that sucks. I'm stuck here asking, couldn't you hackers have waited just a little longer before making this announcement?
"Sony also has the right to keep records of anything you say or do online, or to simply listen in. "SCEA reserves the right to monitor and record any online activity and communication throughout PSN and you give SCEA your express consent to monitor and record your activities," the agreement reads. "Any data collected in this way, including the content of your communications, the time and location of your activities, your Online ID and IP address and other related information may be used by us ..."

"Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) is expanding the availability of the popular PlayStation Network Cards to additional major retailers nationwide this holiday season. The PlayStation Network Cards, which can be used to purchase content for PlayStation 3(PS3) and PSP (PlayStation Portable) systems, will be available at Walmart, Best Buy, select Sam's Club outlets in October 2008, and at Barnes & Noble College Bookstores locations in November 2008."
"GameSpot: The Punisher isn't just any old license, but one of Marvel's most beloved (and badass) characters. What are you hoping to contribute to the Punisher universe?
Zsolt Kigyossy: The Punisher is probably one of the most complex characters of Marvel. He went through so much, and he can be spiritual and understanding. However in our game we aim to focus on the violence and grit of Marvels current MAX comic book series, with some influence from War Journal and even a little bit of the..."
Sony's incorporation of movie downloads into the PS Store probably put a smile on a lot of PS3 users faces--making it possible for PS3 owners to buy and watch movies without leaving their houses. However, there is a downside to this new service. Once you make that movie purchase of around $15 and download it to your Playstation 3 or PSP system, Sony will only allow you to redownload it once. So if you ever thought of "temporarily deleting" movies to clear up some space for whatever reason, ke...

If you've never read the "Ask PS3 Fanboy" articles, random people send in their questions, hoping for an answer. The website recommends bundles (SOCOM: Confrontation), they predict if certain games will ever have Trophies (Metal Gear Solid 4), and a lot of other things.
This could also be a good opportunity to brush up on your PS3 knowledge. Check out some of the questions in the quote.
It may not be a Thursday, and it may be a day late, but we've finally got the Playstation Store update in the EU, and oh boy does it bring an accolade of new items to the store. With GameStop hosting its expo this week, EDGE Online was able to speak to some higher ups in the company. Bob McKenzie, a Senior Vice President of merchandising at a GameStop store in Texas, revealed that they have always been honest with their vendors and they're "not afraid to compete with them".
In addition, he also added because of speed limitations affecting consumers to download games, it causes them to head on over to a store and pick it up, allowing sales to remain constant. That ...
You probably remember some time ago that it was announced Playstation Network Cards will be coming to BlockBuster and 7-11 sometime in Septermber. No word at that time was specified as when in September.
So out of curiosity today I called my local BlockBuster and asked them about when they would get them. I got a response that they where already available at the store. This is good news for the people with no access to a credit card. I'm not sure about the other thousands of blockbusters o...
"Namco Bandai Games America Inc., announced today that a free playable demo of Soulcalibur IV is now available for download on Xbox Live Marketplace for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PlayStation Network for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system. Its been taking a while. And Sony is doing it step by step. At first it was released in just one store. What made it worse was that store was only available in 5 states. Well we finally have an update that on what stores are getting these. In September Blockbuster, 7-11 and Riteaid will start carrying the PSN cards. The cards will come in two different versions. A $20 version and a $50 version. These cards will work for the PSN store and the Video store.
Some of you have heard of this strange PSN title. It is called Linger Shadows, and it is more of interactive experiance. You are watching a movie, and the movie will pause every know and again. At this point you must use the SIXAXIS controller to find five sigils hidden in the game to continue the story. No price details yet, and cutrrently it will only release for the European store on August 28th. You can check out the trailer here:
"Got a great demo of That Game Company's newest game FLOWER when I was in Santa Monica last week. Holy Shit! Now I had played the first level before and really liked it. I had liked it alot more than flOw which- as I always say- I APPRECIATED but never really enjoyed as a game experience. But this new game? Shit, man. It's on the road to being a classic, no doubt. And I don't say that lightly cause while the core game mechanics are fun, it- in my mind- lives or dies by the emotions it creates ..."

"Transitioning from modern-day urban apartments that double as level hubs, you'll quickly make the leap into gorgeously-rendered, verdant green fields, all seemingly ripped right from America's pastoral heartland. The catch: Many patches of plants and foliage inhabiting these environments appear dull and lifeless, seemingly having had the color and energy leeched right out of them. What's more, you don't control a character, per se, here - rather, you manipulate the ebb and flow of the wind. W..."
"The upcoming PSN-exclusive follow-up to the successful Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction will be available for the masses soon: August 21st, to be exact. Many have been wondering how large the download would be, considering Tools of Destruction took advantage of the incredible space offered by Blu-ray. Those interested in downloading the upcoming game should know that Quest for Booty clocks in at slightly over 2GB, or 2.3GB to be precise.
While that's a large download, that's on..."

We've seen many comparisons between LIVE and PSN before, and I'm sure that we'll see many more in the future. However this time it's the job of QJ.net. The article's focus however is mainly on the most important aspects of the online service - Accessibility and the Content. Go to the source and compare the two and see if you agree with them.
Playstation Network gets a huge update. Some of the updates include two downloadable games, Siren: Blood Curse and 1942: Joint Strike, three brand new track packs (one for Guitar Hero III [Virtuoso Pack] and two for Rock Band [NIN and Shinedown track packs]), and a demo for PixelJunk Eden.
Chris Satchell, chief technology officer of Microsoft's interactive business stated that The Playstation Network has nothing but only a "handful of titles" to their credit, and that their creativity is running thin. However, when talking about the 360 he states that "very rapidly we will see a huge amount of creativity pouring onto Xbox 360 and Xbox Live."
Playstation Lifestyle has confirmed that Rag Doll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic, a fighting game that will be releasing for the PSN sometime in the future, will feature trophy support. Apart from this, the game will also have multiplayer for up to four-players, leaderboards to show everyone who is the best in the game, and you will be able to perform different attacks, such as air attacks.
If you still don't believe the source, check out Sony's game profile, which also confirms trophy support...
We've known for some time that Movies will be coming to the Playstation Store sometime soon... well at the Sony Press Conference they have revealed that the content will be released not next week, or in a few months... but today.
Unexpectedly, Sony has decided to release a new model of the PS2 in European and Indian territories; this appears to be based on Sony's feeling the PS2 is a "gateway console" for new or inexperienced gamers.
The new model (its unclear whether the one pictured here is the same one being released, as it looks like the same ol' slim PS2) is to be "slimmer, sleeker and more suave". Interestingly, the traditional AC adapter will be replaced by a built-in one.
More than that, the PlayStation...
Contrary to claims on N4G, Sony says it has no plans to bring PlayStation 2 games to the PlayStation Network, as Microsoft has done with its Xbox Originals service. The forum post read as such:
"I was speaking to a friend last night on MSN who works at Sony London. I was actually asking him about the new XMB update, and if he knows when it'll be out. He told me it was scheduled to launch E3, but more interesting was his info on a new Playstation 2 Store that'll also be announced at E3 too!...
"The second part of the Firmware 2.40 video walkthrough is now available to watch. In-game XMB and various other features were shown off in part I of the walkthrough, and part II shows off the trophy support. Super Stardust HD will be the first game to support the trophy feature. We've reported most of the features in our earlier articles, but it's still useful to watch the video."
"We put a question mark at the end of the headline because we're not entirely sure if this is true. We haven't heard anything officially confirmed. The thought nonetheless is intriguing, so we want to see if there is any truth to this.
[Update: It's true. We've reached a maximum of 100. Thanks everyone who participated. Your effort is greatly appreciated!]"
After months and months of gamers begging and Sony promising it would happen, Sony has announced their plans to bring the Playstation Store to the PSP.
Previously, PSP owners had to purchase content either through a PS3 or PC, hook it up with a USB cable, download an installer for their PC, and could only then get items onto their PSP. That's all set to change sometime this fiscal year.
As you may recall, Sony plans to launch a video download service as early as this summer in the US. It was detailed today, and will be targeted both at the PSP and PS3, and will later expand to TVs, PCs, and their line of Mobile Phones.
The current interface is a lot like the revamped Playstation Store's interface, and offers movies and TV shows in both SD and HD, and both for renting and purchasing. Much more at the source!
Today at a group business meeting in Tokyo, Kaz Hirai announced quite a few things about the Playstation brand. One of the things was that the Playstation Network is now at 9.8 million users, and that over 170 million pieces of content have been downloaded by its users.
Some other tidbits are that the PSP has hit the 37 million mark, and that over 12 million PS3s have been sold.
"Sony's Mid-Term Corporate Strategy Meeting today, the first screenshots of the new Video Store for the PlayStation Network were revealed. Although not the best quality, it gives you some idea of what to expect. The PlayStation Network update that took place this week was to prepare the network for the Video Store. The exact release date for the Video Store is still unknown, but it is expected to hit the PlayStation 3 before the end of the Summer, and then the PSP in the future."

"All right, so if many of you remembered the Kotaku article stating there was a price tag for PlayStation Network Cards. I caught it before the story was up at Kotaku and made mention about it at a few forums. Well, I heard yesterday that Meijer just got them in, so I decided to investigate today.
I checked where the price tag was and didn't see it. So I checked in the PS3 game section, and there they were.

Who'd have thought that the guys at Sony would have packed Qore with not just information, reviews and other exclusives, but a game as well? Well they have, and all you need to do is go into the Main Menu and then hit L2.

With update 2.4 nearing release (no date officially announced), we're bound to get some leaked bits of information and MaxConsole's Medran has done just that, giving us a glimpse of how the 2D Trophies will appear in the game with a screenshot and two videos that were unfortunately taken down. Sony Computer Entertainment Japan just announced its PlayStation Network - the company's free online service - has accrued one million accounts in its respective region. According to the official PlayStation site, there are currently 8 million accounts active worldwide. Sounds like good news for Home.
Yes its been a long wait but it appears we will get out paws on the much awaited Playstation Network cards soon.
These nifty little devices, for those unaware, allow someone to add money to their Playstation account without the use of a credit card. Apparently Kotaku reader Josh stumbled upon this sticker in his local Meijer store indicating the cards are to be sold soon.
There are a whole bunch of updates for the Playstation Store for May 23rd 2008.

"Q-Games is building up quite the library of interesting titles. Its first release, PixelJunk Racers, brought slot-car racing to the PS3. While we weren't all too impressed with that release, its follow-up, PixelJunk Monsters, wound up being incredibly addictive and is easily one of the best titles on the PlayStation Store. The studio is gearing up for the release of its third title, PixelJunk Eden, which clearly is going to be its weirdest and most stylish game to date.
The game puts you i..."

"This week's PlayStation Store update is quite big one for both Europe and the US. The European PlayStation Store has received a new playable demo and two new full games, whereas the US has received two new playable demos. The PixelJunk Monsters Encore pack is now available to purchase in Europe and both stores have received new characters for Everybody's Golf World Tour. This week's update also has several new videos, XMB themes and wallpapers. Check out the full list below."
"Mentioned during the closing minutes of the PlayStation Day keynote speech, Movement is an interesting idea that is being sadly under-reported. Sure, it's not a game, but the idea of made-for-PSN TV shows is something that definitely piques our interest. The gist is that two British blokes, Spencer and Martin, travel around Europe in a VW Camper van in search of unsigned bands, documenting their progress as they go.
The program will feature many different kinds of music, including French e..."
"GTA fan hopes rose today with a report from qj.netsuggesting that GTA 2 was coming to XBLA and/or PSN at the end of May. This was due to a countdown clock found on Rockstar's site. We're sorry to report that this is not the case.
The clock is old and was counting to the release of GTA 2 on PlayStation One. Checking the source code for the site, the page is credited as being designed in 1999. The code includes a date correction for the 1900s, with a note stating, "apply correction for this ..."
"We are continually looking for ways to enhance the player experience on the PLAYSTATION®Network, and downloadable content through the PLAYSTATION Store is just one of our areas of focus, said Grace Chen, Senior Manager for the PLAYSTATION Store"
A member at Gametrailers.com had only 3 dollars in his store account. He went and bought the COD4 map pack and he was shocked to see that he could buy a map pack that is 7 dollars. He then thought that they where all free and continued downloaded almost everything in the store. Only to realize that the store saves your account info and takes out money without having to add funds. I hate to be that kid right now.
The Echochrome demo and the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Variety Map Pack headline this week's PS Store updates. But, there is also so much more.
Lots of add on content. Which would include add ons for: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, The Eye of Judgment: Biolith Rebellion 2, Rock Band, Guitar Hero III, Army of Two, and Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol Encore songs.

And it has become more then just a LAN party, people stay in a hotel or outside camping. There are also 4x4 racing and paitball. Goes to show you what happens when a few dedicated people can do.

The Playstation Store was updated recently, however the update also saw that the pictures were initially not loading at all, and then that they were loading extremely slowly. Well the issue didn't evade Sony's eyes, who commented that it was simply due to high global traffic, and should be resolved very soon as less PS3's download the images.
Peter Dille, Senior Vice President of marketing at Sony, and the guy in charge of the PSN has posted a blog post on the official US Playstation blog. In it, he discusses how this year will lead to massive expansions in terms of the PSN's service.
According to him, the three major goals for the year are to provide the best free online gaming possible, providing 'digital media download services', and providing 'original content'.
The two major things that he revealed though, are that a d...
For those living under a rock, should note that the Playstation Store has now changed and as you can see from the link, it's most certainly for the better. However what exactly are the impressions of the non-Sony folk that have played it? Well IGN are here to give us just that.
"The 2.30 Update is live, and the PSN Store gets a shiny coat of new paint, and the Lair Add-on for standard non-motion controls. The interface is great — so intuitive and easy to use. Biggest gripe: none of the pictures seem to be loading. Well, at least for me. Anyone else?"
"The PlayStation Network will go offline for several hours today in order to prepare the launch of the new PlayStation Store for tomorrow. The store will be offline from 8:00 AM PST (4:00 PM BST) until 11:00 PM PST tonight (7:00AM BST tomorrow). The announcement notes that other PlayStation Network services will not be affected. Before you can access the new store tomorrow, you will need to download firmware 2.30 when it is released tomorrow."
Now we know that it is to be released on the 15th of April, however apart from a few of the screens, we don't know much about how it will function... well fortunately the official Playstation 3 Blog, have brought us that information, in the form of a video walkthrough.
Unfortunately we can't embed the video here, so you'll have to go to the source and view it, but believe me, it's well worth it ;)
PlayStation Home can be downloaded already with a bit of basic "hacking" but is not yet playable. A simple hack using the PS3 Proxy Server application can fool the PS3 into think that Home is available to download and it even points you to the correct download file. Though after installation, you will find that it is unplayable. Video available via Source.
Well MVC certainly think so. During read an interview between Scott Steinberg (VP of Product Marketing at SCEA) and GameDaily, it was hinted that Sony may go beyond a simple facelift of the store even stating that the service would be overhauled (I take this to mean something other than the simple facelift).
Among the hints given was that of a TV and Movie service (most likely to combat that of the XBOX360's) all which may arrive sometime in 2008.
Have you brought a Playstation Store Network game with the intentions to play it on the Playstation Portable and then wanted to share that game around with other friends on there Playstation Portable but can't because they are coded..?
Well it has now been found that hackers have found a way to do this and this is by (of course) decoding the encryptions that have been set by Sony on the downloaded games so now you are able to play them on any Playstation Portable without anything stopping ...
Farewell SIXAXIS, hello Dualshock 3! The force feedback Dualshock 3 controllers will be shipping tomorrow at the generous price of $54.99 US. Get them while they're hot, because Sony all knows everyone wants one for all those wrecks in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue!
Playstation.blog has just released some new screens of the redesigned Playstation Store.
The Playstation Stores new look is is scheduled for a mid-April launch.
"Hi everyone. Just a reminder that theres no PLAYSTATION Store update today, but the Store remains open for business. As announced last week, Warhawk is still on promotion for $29.99 (regular price $39.99). Were working hard on getting the revamped Store up and running. Keep an eye out for a walk-through video next week. In t...
PlayStation Store shoppers, you may now let out that held breath. After Sony announced its plans to redesign the store, and after having revealed what it will look like, many people were asking whether SCE would take the opportunity to region lock the store. Their answer? No. You're still free to shop around in other regions in the store if you so desire.
Can't wait until Killzone 2 comes out this fall? Well why don't you wait until May and buy Guerilla's first ever PSN game: Killzone: Wrath of Hakha? This appears to basically be a Killzone 1.5 with five chapters and three downloadable chapters that lead up to the events of Killzone 2. The developer is staying pretty quiet about the game, however, so not much is known as of yet, though it's been confirmed that the first screenshots will be released after the PSN update.
With a confirmation for the EU stores update, scheduled to hit in April as well as some fancy new screens on what the redesign will look like, the US is also confirmed to be along the same timeline for the release.
The redesign is a response from Sony to customer feedback based on a survey held last year. Users suggested that they wanted the stores GUI to be easier to navigate. This update will yield in a pause on updates to content of aproximately two weeks while Sony puts the new store u...
"We know that a new look PlayStation Store is coming, but seeing that Sony Europe are so sporadic with their updates it is nice to know that they seem aware of it too. The first news of the store update was confirmed earlier this month by John Hight, but now it seems Sony are happy enough to publicly promote its arrival on their service. As such, they have launched a new advertising banner proclaiming that a Great new look will coming soon. The banner is not clickable, so no further info w..."
"It's that time of the week again, boys and girls. We've got this week's update for the PlayStation Network and PC PlayStation Store. The very beefy list includes two downloadable game offers, lots of add-on content, videos, and themes, among others.
This week, you can get Warhawk for a discounted price - the promo lasts for a couple of weeks until April 15, and you can also check out the flOw bundle which includes the game and the expansion pack. The add-ons for this PSN update includes th..."
Yesturday Ubisoft's latest release schedule for Haze stated that it will be arriving in stores on May 22 though this is far, well not far but closeish from the truth as Ubisoft today in an amended release schedule issued and for Haze it stated they would be aiming for a May 2008 release though this is far from Official at the moment.
Sony have Officially Announced and Apologized for the Playstation 3's Vulnerability when in direction to the PSN and have said "this should never have happened".

Sony has issued a consumer alert about the PC version of the Playstation Store for it's PSP system. It seems as if it was "Illegally accessed". Basically, it got hacked. The way you know if your account got hacked is if your password got changed. If you can log into the store with your password, YOU ARE FINE. However, if your password doesn't work, you have been hacked, and expect to be contacted by Sony.
Apparently, this was a very small scale attack on the store, and not many people were...
An interview with Sony's John Hight revealed new information about the Playstation Store, Warhawk, and much more. It has now been confirmed that the Playstation Store will get a redesign in April. He has also stated that the new Warhawk expansion (Broken Mirror) should be out by April of this year!
Another thing he was asked about was why the Japanese store seems to have more content (Specifically PS1 games) than the US Store, to which he replied that the US will be getting it soon.

"Chris Eden from Sony Computer Entertainment made mention of PLAYSTATION Store on PSP in his Game Developers Conference session. Currently, players must use a PC in order to download content and transfer it to the PSP. Going forward, PSP fans will be able to download games directly to their systems from within the PSP itself. "Access native PLAYSTATION Store on PSP via wireless hotspot," the slide notes. "Purchase and download content direct to PSP (no USB cable)." Launch is currently "TBA." M..."
You are probably familiar of the Pixel Junk Series. If you are not, they are a series of arcade games for the Playstation network. The first two were Pixel Junk Racer and Pixel Junk Monsters. A new trailer has come out showing the next Pixel Junk game, Pixel Junk Eden. A physics based game were you collect pollen and birth flowers as a small blob. After this, expect to see the next Pixel Junk game, called Pixel Junk Dungeons.
The title says it all. In about a year and a half, the PSN has hit 3 million users in North America, with about 8 million items purchased from the North American Playstation Store. Additionally, about 52 million files have been served up on the Playstation Store, from wallpapers and themes, to demos and videos.
This number is sure to grow when Playstation Home is released!
Note - These numbers probably include the PC's Playstation Store for PSPs.
Oh snap!
A person in a forum caught a glimpse (And a screenshot!) of Sony's site for a few moments that it contained a confirmation of in-game messaging. It was taken down VERY quickly, but it was definitely up.
Could this be a GDC announcement?
See for yourself! Here's a cache of the page before it was edited!

"Having missed out on last weeks seasonal mini-update to the PlayStation Store, which was instead gifted to European game fans, the official US PlayStation blog has now moved to help stem the tears and plug the gap with its first stateside content update of 2008."
This week's PlayStation Store update is the first of the new year and Europe has received the worst update ever, with only two new items added to the store. The US PlayStation Store update was slightly better with several new game add-on content and a new playable demo.
"Curious PlayStation 3 fans hoping to continue in the vein of trying before buying can now do just that with the addition of three playable demos although downloads for The Club might take a while as the demo is around 2GB in size. Little point in complaining through, they are free after all."
"Don't have a credit card? Want to purchase things on the PLAYSTATION Store? No worries. Now you have the PLAYSTATION Network card. The kind folks at SCEA sent us an early Christmas gift -- a card that's redeemable for PS3 and PSP purchases on the PLAYSTATION Store. No further details have been officially released, but rest assured that these cards will be readily available in retail stores in the future."
"Right, this is strange. The day after my rant about the PS3 not needing an in-game XMB, we get two things on the Playstation Store that ironically address the themes of discussion. High Velocity Bowling supports custom soundtracks, and the TimeShift demo allows you to bring up your friends list and read your messages.
Strange aye? Its as if Sony was watching me write my rant, and is now putting the finger up to me and saying suck on that! Im sorry Sony, you know better *cowers*.
So..."
MTV's Steven Totilo interviewed Eric Lempel, director of network operations for Sony Computer Entertainment America. They mostly talked about Firmware and the PSN servers, which are constantly getting faster. The main points in this interview though, are that a few new features are coming for the PS3 this year, and that fewer but better firmware updates will occur in 2008.
"Euro Update:

"In yesterday's PlayStation Store update, Sony released several official XMB themes for the PlayStation 3. What they failed to mention was that the themes come with custom sound effects, which can be heard when navigating the XMB. Currently, the Heavenly Sword theme, Mesmorise theme and the Ratchet and Clank theme have sound effects."
"Hey yaâll! This is David Jaffe, co-founder of Eat Sleep Play and former SCEA Santa Monica Studios Game Director/Designer.

And we are ⦠work is moving along nicely on our first new PLAYSTATION Network title and weâre hoping to let you guys/gals in on it soon. But weâve also bee..."

* The cinema's movie theatres have transferred from the second floor to the first floor

The PlayStation Store updates are in, and unfortunately Home isn't available to download. However, both the US and European stores have received several new addon packs for a number of games, including Map Pack 2 for Resistance: Fall of Man. The US store has also received a new game PAIN, but has been taken down because of bugs.
That's right it was recently promised to us, and it is finally here. The Playstation Store has now come to the PC. Giving you the same basic abilities as the PS3 version apart from the ability to download PS3 Game's (since they would obviously be pirated across the internet).
Check out the screenshots below, or go straight to the store by clicking the source.
NOTE: It still seems to be a site in progress, however you can log into it, and see what you've downloaded.
"As our new site will be opening in about a week, I thought I'd do my last PLAYSTATION Network article today. Prepare to read on, this may just be the most controversial article you will ever read.
I'm not going to be fancy on this, the only image you will see in this article is the one on the left there. This article will also be featured as one of the first posts on the new site. I'm going to make this readable and break it down into categories. Before any criticism is received, all these..."
"The new PlayStation Store will replace the current PSP Store found on the European PlayStation Website, and will offer the same content as the PlayStation 3 Network Store including games, wallpapers, videos, trailers and more. This means that those who downloaded some content from the old site will have to store their downloads on their memory stick duo to avoid losing any of it.
Access to the new store will only be given to those who have a PlayStation Network Account. Sony said that they..."
Next's weeks PlayStation Store update will take place on Tuesday 20th November 2007 since Thrusday is Thanksgiving. Though, it is unclear of this only affects the US PSN Store. All other stores may be updated as usual on Thursday, but this is still unconfirmed.
This weeks PSN updates are in and it's, well, crap. Europe has received the old Stranglehold demo that appeared on the US store several weeks ago, while the US has at least received to new playable demos. The EU store did, however, receive a new PlayStation Eye title and a new add-on pack for MotorStorm. As usual, both stores has received a number of game and video trailers.
"Sony Europe has confirmed that a playable demo of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, released on the US PSN Store yesterday, will hit UK PS3s on November 22.
European PS3 owners have been disappointed to discover that the US demo of the Naughty Dog's much-anticipated jungle adventure is region locked, meaning those with US PSN accounts on their UK PS3s are unable to play. While Sony's US network regularly gets content ahead of its European equivalents, the company's open attitude to region coding..."
"The US have recieved two new demos, the main one being Uncharted, and three new add-on packs for various games. In addition, there are several new game videos, movie trailers and some new wallpaper. As for Europe - the update wasn't that big (no suprise there). There is one new playable demo, and a few new game add-on packs. There is also a new PSOne title and Tekken 5: DR Online is finally available to download."
Currently, the only way to add funds to your PlayStation Network Wallet is using a credit card. However, PlayStation Network cards will be available to purchase from retails stores soon, according to a new option found on the Account Management screen. After several hours of downtime on Nov 6th 2007, a option to redeem PlayStation network cards was added to the PlayStation Network. It is currently unknown when the cards will be available to purchase from retail stores.
Every Thursday we have to wait to see what will be in the Playstation Store. And the Euro store usually gets the least amount of content. Well Three Speech has got a list of all the content that will be releasing in the next two months for the Euro Store.
Some of the major stuff are
Uncharted Demo
Folkore - Bottom of the Sea pack
MotorStorm Devil Crossing pack:
Track - Devils crossing
4 new tickets containing 10 races
2 new vehicles with 3 liveries each. One unlockable vehicle with ...
There was a big update to the PlayStation store this week, with lots of new PlayStation Network titles now available to purchase on the European PS Store. The new games are Aqua Vita, Operation Creature Feature, PixelJunk Racers, and The Trials of Topoq.
"If you were one of the lucky ones to get The Eye of Judgment today at your local game store and you are looking for something a little extra, then head over to the PLAYSTATION Store.
Why?
The new and free EyeCreate software was just released, allowing you to make movies and do silly things with your newly aquired PLAYSTATION Eye.
The file is only 9051KB, so why not give it a try, right? So give it a whirl, and show us your videos."
"One of the most anticipated demos PS3 owners have been waiting for, a Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction demo will be hitting the Playstation Store on October 4th. The demo will give gamers a taste of the opening level. Those who arent sure whether to pick the game up or not next month will soon be able to give it a free try in just a few weeks."
The current Playstation Network isn't the friendliest of places when your looking for something specific, and god knows that it can definitely be tweaked to appeal more to the masses. But how exactly should it be tweaked? Well StuntF50, a member of the GameTrailers forums has created a mock-up of how he thinks it should look (and I'll state it now, it was inspired by XBOX Live).
Personally, I would love for my Playstation Network to look similar to that, but I wouldn't mind this design eit...
One of these days, someone will ask "Where's our 15 NEW PSX Games For Our Store" and the person will be asking on behalf both the US and European Stores. The games that have been released on the store are somewhat classics, and hopefully they will be ported to the other regions very soon. Here's the full list:
PSX Games:
Sony will be updating the European PlayStation Store on Wednesday night, instead of Thursday to upload content related to the Games Convertion in Leipzig, Germany. The content will include mostly trailers, but for a limited time only, the english Folklore demo will be available to download.
As before, both the European and North American PSN Stores are being updated with brand new content, some of which, that will make your mouth water:
North American Store

As reported just two days ago, a Playstation 3 Gamercard option could be seen on the Unreal Tournament 3 demo at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival... well here's some more proof of the existence of the Gamercard...
A mysterious screen from Playstation Home has been leaked showing the option to view a persons 'Gamer Card'. Need we more proof to the inevitable existence of this feature?
MediEvil and Spyro 2 were pulled from the PlayStation Network Store for having serious bugs a few weeks back and it seems that Sony is unable to fix the bugs. The company has sent out emails to its customers that the refunds will be added to the PlayStation Store wallet. Good news for those who purchased the games.
It's less typical than a petition and hopefully more effective. If you want the PlayStation Store to be redesigned then make it known by telling Sony. Take part and hopefully if enough people do so we could actually see this happen. (That's right, I quote myself)
"The new PS store opens exactly as the old one. We click on the little blue bag icon. But this is where similarities end. As soon as the bag icon is clicked, the XMB icons fade into the background, as "new" XMB icons fade in to take their spot. It is a neat effect similar to that of Mac OS X's Frontrow animation. A messege appears welcoming us as bells chime to signify we entered a store. A clever effect.
The PS is set to default on featured items. The feature list some what resembles Apple..."
It seems that some member of the PSU forums has managed to find themselves a picture of the PS3 being able to support a "Chatroom" feature. Could this very well be a new feature which will be released in upcoming versions? Or is the picture the handywork of someone with some Photoshopping talent? Take a look at the picture below, and decide for yourself.
The playstation network store has been updated today, and with that many new items have become available for download, and here they are...

MediEvil, was launched on the Playstation Network just last week, however it seems that it has now been pulled from the European store. After confirming a bug in the game which causes the game to crash after the third level, Sony have also promised to fix the problem quickly and put it back on the store.
Those of you who have already paid for it, need not worry as you will be able to download the game again for free, and without worry.
However, MediEvil isn't the only game that has bee...
"2K Games has released a playable demo of The Darkness which PS3 gamers can download now from the PSN store.
UK gamers have been enjoying The Darkness on Xbox 360 for several weeks now, but PlayStation 3 gamers have only been able to get their hands on the supernatural FPS from today.
If you're wavering on whether or not to make a purchase then today's The Darkness demo might help. It's 1.44GB and presumably offers a short section of gameplay designed to convince people to buy the full ..."
Tired of looking at the numerous articles for screenshots and minor updates about a game your interested in? Well if that game is being published by Sony on one of their consoles, then the chances are that they have released new information and screenshots for them. You don't have to go far to look for the information either, as it is indexed below, by platform. These are the images and details about the games coming straight from Sony for E3 2007, so take a look at be sure to discuss the ima...
"With Sony's press conference in the past, we've created a roundup of all the small, but significant, announcements and confirmations. This year, Sony allowed very little time for the audience to ponder and absorb, so a lot of the groundbreaking revelations were not emphasised. This was of course a good thing, as it showed that Sony had a lot of things to say. So aside from the major announcements, such as MGS4, Haze and UT3 exclusivity, here are the other tidbits:
- 200 games on Blu-ray an..."
We all want to know the names of the games that Sony are planning on releasing for the various Playstation consoles currently out there (PS2, PS3, PSP). "I just got word that well have a very cool treat coming this week to the PLAYSTATION Store. What would E3 be without a new Metal Gear Solid trailer?
The latest Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer will be available exclusively for download on the PLAYSTATION Store shortly following our press conference tomorrow. From our friends over at Konami and Kojima Productions, I heard they were still putting the final touches on the trailer a mere five hours before it was hand carried today to Santa Monica ..."
"Today PS3 owners are getting an idea as to what that extra space will be used for, as a Sony representative told Newsweek editor N'Gai Croal that the company is working on a downloadable TV and movie service for the system. Croal said he was told by the rep that Sony will talk about the service at its press conference Wednesday."
Looks like Sony have realised that people want to access the XMB while in game. This probably means everyone who wants to play their own music while in game will finally be able to. Also I like the idea of seeing which games friends are playing while in a game as well.
Hm, sounds a lot like what Xbox live has right now...but oh wait, I don't have to pay monthly/yearly for mine online...cool :D
The director of the PlayStation Network Eric Lempel spoke to GameTrailers.com in an interview about the future of the PlayStation Network on the PS3.
Lempel stressed the fact that the PlayStation Network and the Xbox Live service are pretty much one in the same at this point with the same features for each service.
"Sony's Network Ticket allows gamers without credit cards to make purchases off the PlayStation Store. Sony's lively collection of tickets will be available to purchase next week, June 6th. Japanese gamers must visit kiosks at a participating convenience stores and ATM machines.
So far, there are no plans on releasing the Ticket outside of Japan. However, depending on the popularity of these prepaid cards in Japan, that might change."
Currently the only way to purchase content via the PlayStation store is to use a credit card, that is about to change in Japan as Sony are introducing PlayStation Network Tickets, a type of electronic cash that can be used with the Japanese PlayStation store, the tickets will be available in units of 1,000, 3,000, 5,000, and 10,000 yen and can be purchased at convenience stores throughout Japan.
Sony haven't announced a similar program for markets outside of Japan. Due to the Japanese prog...
"The full game of Go! Sudoku has been added to the PlayStation Store for £4.99.
The PlayStation Store description reminds you that you first must have downloaded the Go! Sudoku Starter Pack (don't worry, it's free) before being able to get your brain on over 1000 new puzzles, ranging from "easy to fiendish".
In an attempt to spice up the logical puzzle game you also get "animated HD visuals" and an online ranking feature. Your parents will love it, think of it as a step towards getting ..."
