"With over 15 years since its debut on the Gameboy, we never thought that Pokémon would still be around till this day. After numerous installments and four generations later, this Japanese role playing phenomenon is still going strong. Pokémon Hear Gold and Soul Silver (HGSS) join the rank with the current gen games on the DS but will these remakes manage to impress Pokémon fans?"
Remakes of great games tend to be hit or miss. Sometimes they're amazing, giving the developers a chance to make the game they wanted to, but couldn't due to issues with time, funding, or technology. Other remakes simply flat-line, blaspheming everything the original ever stood for. Fortunately, Pokemon HG/SS falls into the former category, serving up sweet seconds of some of the best games in the franchise.
"My return to Johto was an eventful one. I laughed, cried, screamed, and passed out more than a few times, but in the end, came to a conclusion that was rather surprising…So, is it still heart-worthy nearly a decade later?"
