"Target, Toys R Us and Best Buy are all offering deals this week meant to get shoppers to make multiple purchases. Meanwhile, K-Mart is offering a hot deal on Mafia II releasing this week and a similar deal on Red Dead Redemption."
"Perhaps this post isn’t anything more than me venting out my frustrations with people who refuse to understand why I would choose to play Pokemon over something like Call of Duty or World of Warcraft. Or to those who think they’ve outgrown the franchise that they used to love just because they got older."
"This week's cosplay babe of the week was a toughy. She's associated with one of the most popular video game franchises in the history of gaming, but more for the merchandising and cartoons than being a gym leader in red and blue. The moment we see Misty, we instantly say "gotta catch 'em all"."
The Legendary Chapter will be the 5th disk set in The Battrio series. This set has no set Pokémon but will feature some legendary Pokémon. The Japanese release is set for March 2010.
This will be the fourth movie in the Pokémon Diamond & Pearl series. The japanese release is scheduled for July 10th 2010 and will likely offer a download of Celebi to any of your 4th generation games (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heartgold, Soulsilver). You will also be able to download the alternate colours of the 3 legendary beasts if you book a ticket. There legendary beasts will also be sent to one of your 4th generation games (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heartgold, Soulsilver). These legenda...
"Pokemon, oh, Pokemon. What was once a secret guilty pleasure of mine has transformed into a monster run rampant—an obsession, if you will. And with the remake of one of my favorite Game Boy titles of all time less than two weeks away, I find myself sleeping less and less as I scratch the hours into my bedpost.
Yes, I’ll admit it: I love Pokemon. *bleep*in’ love it. The gameplay is intricate, yet catchy. The music is bouncy and memorable. And the Pokemon are badass as all hell.
Well, for..."
The first Pokémon of the 5th generation has been somewhat revealed during tonight's episode of Pokémon Sunday. And by that, I mean we have been shown its silhouette, but nothing else. However, this has been enough to rile up fans around the world, many of whom have already speculated as to what exactly the silhouette depicts.
"It's been four full years since the introduction of the Nintendo DS. This dual-screen, touch-screen handheld was a system first received with skepticism when it launched in the US in November of 2004. Over time, it began to prove itself. The dual-screened handheld that had everyone, gamers and developers alike, scratching their heads has become the most popular and most purchased piece of video game hardware.
But it's not on the strength of the hardware alone. The reason why Nintendo's DS ..."
"Following the official announcement of their Wii Sports Resort launch activities earlier today, Nintendo have announced yet another public event for their UK audience. If you’re looking for some free family fun this summer, step into a magical land full of Pokémon at the Pokémon Village Fête where you can experience the very latest Pokémon videogames for Nintendo DS and Wii and take in a screening of the 11th Pokémon movie – Pokémon: Giratina and the Sky Warrior."
Nintendo president Satoru Iwata recently revealed that the Pokemon we know and love almost didn't make it to the West. When the games were about to leave Japan, localizers told Nintendo that Western audiences would never accept the cute little monsters and advised Nintendo to make the creatures more "muscle-bound" to appeal to Western gamers. Nintendo didn't like the idea and decided against it.
Turns out Nintendo had the right idea.
"We learned on the 7th that "Pocket Monsters Gold and Silver," the second entry in the popular RPG series, originally released on the Gameboy system in November of 1999, will be remade for the Nintendo DS this autumn under the titles "HeartGold" and "SoulSilver." New elements will be added in this tenth anniversary return to the Johto Region.
A continuation of the original series (Pocket Monsters Red, Green, Blue, and Pikachu), Gold and Silver recorded remarkable sales of 23,000,000 copies ..."
Take this with the most precious grain of salt: a user on the NeoGAF forums not only confirms the Pokemon Gold/Silver remakes and additional features, but also confirms once more on DSi Virtual Console of Game Boy games.
Also, another Pokemon Battle Revolution-style game is expected to be announced at E3.
NOT ONLY THAT, but he even drops word of an idea tossed around right now at Nintendo: re-releasing Pokemon Red and Blue on the DSi VC AND having them connect to Pokemon Stadium on the ...
Pokemon fansites all over the web are going absolutely nuts over a recent imminent announcement of a major Pokemon game. Next Sunday on Pokemon Sunday (Japan's anime plus anything Pokemon show) is what many are expecting to be the official unveiling of Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver remakes. Aside from Japanese magazines having a hand in this, possibly the biggest giveaway of it all was a display of gold and silver party balls displayed during the show.
"Self-proclaimed psychic Uri Gellar built his reputation on his supposed ability to bend spoons with the power of his mind. When Nintendo introduced Kadabra, a psychic-type Pokemon that carries a bent spoon, he sued for $100 million over claims that the game had stolen his identity. Gellar lost. You'd think he'd have seen that coming."
"NetBattle Supremacy is the latest version of NetBattle, with Diamond and Pearl pokemon included. This version of NetBattle is not updated or maintained by us. For support and bug reports, please visit the Official NetBattle Supremacy Website."
"The Science of Collecting
The Pokémon games have some cute, original creature designs, but beyond their cuddly forms (and the hulking monsters many of them grow into) there are a lot of them -- 493 at last count. And, like with any repetitive game that offers rewards directly related to time spent in the game (see also World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time) the capacity for endless grinding to raise a character's level by even a fraction is an almost primal..."
"It’s very unlikely that anyone reading this hasn’t played at least one Pokemon game. The Pokecraze lasted for years, and to this day it’s still extremely popular. The formula works, and while some changes would be nice, with minor changes we could have a perfect Pokemon game. A few of my ideas involve more radical changes though, but those are much less likely to be implemented."
"It's a common occurrence reviewing Nintendo DS games: the occasional release will feature online support using the established Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service and the Nintendo DS system's inherent Wi-Fi capabilities. To test out the support, we'll hop on the service and try to play a match-up with someone else across the globe just to see how well or poorly the feature's been implemented, checking to see how well the game holds up to the usual internet lag.
To get things going, we'll try..."
"But on to more important stuff. See, I hate reading. It's for pretentious jerks that think they're better than everyone. In fact, I don't even like writing. I use speak and spell software to dictate my articles to the computer. It takes six hours for a review but it's totally worth it.
The one exception to my hatred of reading is when I'm searching the internet for the latest and greatest Pokemon fanfictions. Nobody writes about the Pokemon universe better than 12-year-old girls."
"I know a bit about crime because I grew up on the streets. And by "streets" I mean a cul de sac in the suburbs. And by "on" I mean safely indoors because I was not allowed to go outside by myself until I was 19 years old (why do you think I played so much Pokemon?)
So with all the evil teams hellbent on stirring up trouble in the Pokemon universe, the antagonists begin to run together. Which one got all of its members beaten by a child? Oh right, that would be all of them. And while that f..."
"It seems that entirely too often, people wonder what it would be like to see their favorite video games in real life. This results in a nearly infinite number of fan-made videos of varying levels of quality. Ive done my best to find 12 great ones that span Mario Bros. to Portal. Its abudantly clear that Ive probably missed a large number, so feel free to leave your favorites in the comments. Ready
start!

Jack DeVries is a self-proclaimed Pokemon maniac. He's not ashamed to admit he plays "alternate world" in his bedroom. In fact, he even bought a cook book just because it had "poke" on it.
This craziness lead him to the creating of a blog for all things Pokemon themed which are just really weird, odd or just shouldn't be done.
Read on to see how you can eat, fish, read, smell, touch, ride and jump around inside Pokemon!
That's right, Nintendo is planning something quite special with DSvision. It'll be coming out on the 18th of December.
The package will be 2GB all up. It'll comprise five of the movies, totaling to over five hours worth of watching!
Jack DeVries of ign.com recently went to an event for the upcoming Pokemon game, Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia. While there, he decided for some unknown reason to compile a mental list of the Pokemon you really just don't want to catch, the sort that mentally prevent you from catching them all.
Each Pokemon listed is given a little bit of information (Name, Type, Number and Species) from the Pokedex before a a nice healthy statement of why you don't want to go anywhere near that Pokemon...
Mums always do a really good job making a great birthday party when you're a little kid. They always come up with fun themes, games and generally make it a whole lot of fun.
This mum decided that if her child loved Pokemon, he'd be getting Pokemon! She made some pretty cool looking Pokemon cupcakes. Faces include Snorlax, Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Piplup, Munchlax and Turtwig.

"For the first time, Dragonite, one of the strongest Dragon-type Pokemon, will be available at Toys"R"Us stores nationwide as Pokemon USA, Inc. and Nintendo of America Inc. offer Pokemon players a special two day opportunity to obtain this unique character. On Saturday, November 8 and Sunday, November 9 from 12 pm to 4 pm, Pokemon fans who bring their Pokemon Diamond or Pokemon Pearl Game Card , along with their Nintendo DS, to any Toys"R"Us store in the United States and Puerto Rico will have..."

Over in New York City today, there were quite a few people celebrating Nintendo Power's 20th birthday, a monthly magazine that covers anything to do with Nintendo gaming.
Kolma over at GoNintendo has given us a video of the rare and special Pikachu that was given to the goers of the event and also snapped a few pictures, some of which you can check out on the right and bottom.
"Case one: You're a spiky haired boy walking through the woods and a butterfly flutters out of a nearby tree. What would you do?
A. Watch it and admire nature's beauty
B. Do a happy dance
C. Eat a leaf
D. Convince your animals friends to "use flamethrower" on it, just for the experience
Now if you're a normal person you'd probably do A, B, or even C, depending on how tastey the leaf looks. If you're the main character of Pokémon, however, you'd go with D. Why is that acceptable?!? Only ..."
In a press release today, Nintendo announced a new limited edition DS Lite, that will feature the two Pokémon Diamond and Pearl cover legendaries, Dialga and Palkia, on an Onyx DS Lite. This new DS Lite will also come packaged with an animated episode based on Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness, a carrying case featuring Dialga and Palkia, and a mini-poster.
The new DS Lite will go on sale August 17, for a retail price of $129.99.
"The Pokémon Company has announced Pokémon 151, a new brand intended for adult Pokémon fans. An official Web site opens Thursday, and Japanese Pokémon Center stores have begun selling four types of stylized T-shirts. In addition, a Diamond and Pearl battle tournament for ages 15 and up will be held at the Tokyo store July 4.
The four T-shirts currently available for pre-sale feature stylized designs of Hypno, Cubone, Articuno and Mewtwo, respectively."
"Lopunny poses like a Playboy bunny in a centerfold spread. Or a prostitute working the sidewalk. Either way, it's sexually suggestive. It also grabs its chest area like it's trying to keep you from seeing the goods. And is it just me or do Lopunny's elbows look like a pair of drooping...boobs? There's so much subconscious sexual imagery going on with Lopunny - if I saw one standing like that at a bar, I might just have to take it home with me."
Pokefreaks everywhere should start getting excited: the Legendary Pokemon Deoxys will be given away at their nearest Gamestop from June 20-22 and June 27-29.
Deoxys is a psychic type Pokemon which does not evolve, but can transform into four different forms, each with a separate stat-based purpose. Deoxys has also been featured in "edutainment" cross-promotional programs with NASA (it formed from a mutation of a extraterrestrial virus exposed to a laser beam).
A great graduation speech about trying to be the best, like no one ever was, traveling across the land, searching far and wide, evolving and training to achieve your goals.
Oh and Pokemon
"If you missed the Pokemon Darkrai giveaway event at Toys R Us stores over the weekend, you still have the entire month to pick up the little guy at the Nintendo World Store.
An employee of the Store just confirmed to us that Darkrai will be available there until the end of June. So if you haven't snagged that lil' Legendary yet, there's still time!"
Pokémon USA just announced the Pokémon Hoedown, er, Showdown, which will pit the best Japanese and American Diamond and Pearl players against in each in a battle of ultimate skill.
The qualifier events begin July 12 and 19 in Los Angeles and New York, respectively, while the finals are scheduled for an Orlando, Florida date on August 16. To obtain entrance to the qualifier events, willing participants must first complete a quiz at the official site.
"If Japanese publication Coro Coro Comics is to be believed, the last iteration in Nintendos critter-hunting Pokemon series is named Pokemon Platinum, and will be heading to the Nintendo DS in Japan this September.
Legendary Pokemon Giratina is seen to feature prominently in Coro Coro Comics single-page feature (and on the box of the game), so it could be that the monster who debuted in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl; one that represents death and dwells in the ruined depths of Turnback Cave, ..."
Diamond and Pearl may be running strong, but it looks like the next game to be out will come later this year. That much was implied by Japan's CoroCoro magazine's latest issue, which had listed a time-line of the past Pokemon handheld titles.
The magazine didn't give out any more details, but it did note that more details will come on May 15th about the newest addition.
Start thinking up that stone name that will be the name of the game.
"There are some Pokemon that are just a pain in the butt to catch - legendaries, Pokemon that run around the map, honey tree Pokemon, etc. Thankfully, as the Pokemon games have progressed, many of these Pokemon are much easier to catch in Diamond/Pearl than they were in the forerunners. Still, it makes us reminisce about the good old days. We had our fair share of frustrations back then, but it all seems a bit funny now. This week's Pokemusings is a flashback dealing with some extremely diffic..."
"#10 Jigglypuff
Jigglypuff's marshmallow exterior makes it the ultimate pillow, a very desirable trait since its harmonic melodies put people to sleep. On the other hand, it could send you to dream land in a very undesirable location, such as the middle of a highway.
#9 Torchic
Most birds are ugly, poop all over the place and look better smothered in Tabasco. Torchic, despite looking delicious, is one of those rare birds we can't help but go awwwwww over. It's cute, it's clumsy and ..."
"#10 Happiny
It's not like Happiny isn't cute. We would love to pick it up and squish it. It's just that Happiny looks like Kirby in drag, and although Nintendo's pink puffball loves dressing up, we just never envisioned him prancing around as a girl. Hey, we'd love him no matter what he looked like."
Best games. These really depend on people's tastes. So, different sites have different lists. Here's what QuickJump (qj.net) has as the top games of 2007. Its an all around list that includes all current-gen platforms.
Whether they are awarding games on the high powered PS3, or the innovative and fast-selling DS, they have always looked at gameplay rather than graphics. Calling all Cars is a good example of this, winning an award for it's fun gameplay!

With E3 quickly approaching, Eurogamer has released it's newest EGTV episode featuring a behind the scenes look at SEGA Rally. Also included is an exclusive interview with the developer of Lego Star Wars, Traveller's Tales and if that isn't enough for you they also get a chance to talk with Mr Pokémon Tsunekazu Ishihara about the new pokemon releases Diamond and Pearl.
For the month of May, Nintendo once again held the North American video game industry sales in the palm of its hand. According to the May sales figures released by NPD, Nintendo's DS remained the top selling console at 423,000 units. The Wii manged to take second place with sales of 338,000 consoles. Sony's PlayStation Portable meanwhile managed to the beat the rest of its next-generation brethren with sales of 221,120 units compared to the 154,900 Xbox 360s and 81,600 PlayStation 3 consol...
American and Japanese owners of Pokemon Diamond & Pearl have already traded over ten (yes 10) million Pokemons through the games Wi-Fi connected "Global Trading Station" or simply dubbed GTS. Thats not just a lot. Ten million could already populate a whole nation of Pokemon.
Whats even more fascinating (or disturbing, however you want to look at it) is that Pokemon Diamond & Pearl was just released about a month and a half ago in U.S. shores. The Japanese versions have been out since la...
"If rumours circulating the Internet are to be believed Nintendo has started to bring the ban hammer to people who have used the Action Reply to enable some specific cheats on their Pokemon Diamond and Pearl games. So far using the codes "National-Dex (After talking with Game Director)", "Catch All 493 Pokemon" and "All Shiny" has allegedly resulted in players getting banned."
What do you get when the hugely popular Pokemon series barges its way into Nintendo's DS Lite fabrication facility looking for some ego-bolstering glory? What you get is everyone standing aside while the Pikachu DS Lite is born. Prepare for them to be rarer than rocking horse dung!
"Each stop on the tour will become a Pokémon fan's paradise with interactive game play stations showing off the brand new games, as well as other brand new Nintendo DS games. Plus there will be a Pokémon Trading Card Game play area, and a special Touch! Generations' area for everyone to enjoy!"

April has come to an end, and so IGN does its game of the month. This is for specifically for the Nintendo DS though, so it is no surprise that the winner of the DS Game of the Month is Pokemon. IGN recommends this game, as you'll get a lot of game for your money, and as we know, Pokemon is an amazingly fun series. Some of the past Game of the Months have been Castlevania, Meteos, and of course there have been many more.
Gamedaily interviewed several people in NYC's Rockafeller Plaza and asked them if they liked Pokemon. People from ages 7 to 56 were asked if they liked the series and most responded with yes. They were also asked their favorite Pokemon. Some said classics like Pikachu, but others said not as popular ones like Shroomish.
Pokemon Diamond and Pearl have combined to have record-breaking Pokemon Sales! They have had a total of One Million games sold within these first Five Days of the North American release. Half of those games were pre-ordered, and the rest of the games were just picked up from the store. This is contributing quite well to the 155 million Pokemon Games that have been sold since the series was made a decade ago.
Linked to from Joystiq, apparently it has been discovered that Japanese Pokémon players are willing to give up some of their better Pokémon for even the lowliest of low-level fodder simply because...their names are in English.
"Mark June 21st down in your calendars Pokémon freaks! That's the day that Diamond and Pearl will be available around the country. Available on DS for an RRP of $69.95, the new titles build on the compelling Pokémon gameplay we've known and loved since the series' first outings on Game Boy. What's new? Well, there are another 100 Pokémon to collect, in addition to the 386 from previous versions, but more exciting will be the game's Wi-fi functionality. Trading Pokémon with players from around ..."
Did you miss out on pre-ordering Pokémon to get that nifty stylus? Or do you simply not like the series but have the need to just use SOMETHING better than the stock stylus that comes with your DS? You actually have two choices!
Amazon.com is selling both the Dialga and Palkia styli for $2 each with FREE SHIPPING included. You are only limited to one per order though so you're only going to spend $4 at most. Those with Amazon Prime are fortuate enough to be able to use their Prime stat...
"Pokemon on the DS is nothing new -- we've already received Pokemon Dash, Pokemon Trozei, and Pokemon Ranger in the system's two years of life. But it's the RPG design the public's clamoring for, not the spin-offs -- those games were just biding the time while Game Freaks cranked out the enormous, ambitious, real deal Pokemon project. It doesn't matter what's going to be said in the next thousand or so words: Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl will, without a doubt, be the top-selling game rele..."
"The long and short of it is that apparently a store in Goose Creek, South Carolina had a few copies of both versions up on their shelves the day they had received them. Keeping calm, he grabbed one of the copies off the shelf, walked to the register, paid, and then proceeded to stroll out of the store having complete knowledge that he just took a figurative dump on its proposed street date. Hurray for retailers who don't know what they're doing!"
"Nintendo has revealed that more than half-a-million Pocket Monster fans have pre-ordered the upcoming Pokémon Diamond and Pearl editions of the phenomenally successful franchise in the US.
533,000 copies of the DS titles have been pre-ordered and it's already set to become one of the best-selling videogames of 2007 Stateside. So far, pre-orders are double that of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, which were released in 2004 and went on to sell more than 3.4 million copies.
Pokémon Diamond ..."
"Though Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl don't hit US shelves until April 22nd, Nintendo has given us the opportunity to take our time to get through the Sinnoh Region in the DS RPG by sending us copies of both games a week and a half before it's supposed to ship. Very nice indeed.
Of course, we just got the game a mere couple of hours ago. The Pokemon adventures are incredibly deep experiences, so posting a hands-on the same day the games hit our desks isn't going to even skim the surface..."
