"God games" like From Dust and Populous are mislabeled. Players are still beholden the rules of a larger outside presence. The Gods in god games aren't really gods. They're landscapers.
If you've played games on the PC during the last decade, chances are you might have heard of (or stumbled upon) some of Bullfrog's games, such as Theme Park, Theme Hospital, and Populous. Bullfrog was the studio that used to be headed up by Peter Molyneux before he quit once EA bought them out. Kikizo sheds some information on whether EA might re-release these games at some point and whether they might collaborate with Lionhead Studios.
ScrewAttack had the chance to chat a bit with famous game programmer Peter Molyneux about one of his famous games titled Populous, which is a RTS. They talk about the problems that the game contained when it first released, why it is called the "god game", and a lot more.
