Power Gig: Rise of the SixString

Power Gig: Rise of the SixString

"After the disaster that was Rock Revolution, it’s almost surprising that another developer is taking a stab at the music genre. Though given it is the first game to feature an actual electric guitar as the controller, the developers knew they had to offer something different than the standard music offerings to distinguish themselves from the norm."

"As an avid musician, I was pleased to be covering the most innovative musical games of E3. No, I'm not talking about Guitar Hero, but a game where you can play with an actual six stringed guitar. With many competitors fighting to receive credit for this new technology, I decided to take a closer look at the different products and give you my inside opinion on the goods and bads of this new technology"

"Power Gig’s hook is that the controller is a real guitar, complete with pickups, strings, and a jack for your amp. It won’t replace a Stratocaster, or even an entry-level Squire, but it’s a bridge that makes the gap between fantasy and reality a little smaller."

"Get an understanding of what this new revolutionary videogame is about. Revolutionary Music Game Drums Arrive with Technology that Recognize Left and Right Sticks to Allow Players to Hit the Beat with More Realistic Movement than Ever Before In a Game."

Seven 45 Studios has unveiled a real guitar as the controller for their upcoming PowerGig: Rise of the SixString. The Kartel recently had the opportunity to preview the game and new controller in an exclusive meeting this week at GDC.
