GetGamesGo.com somehow managed to get Ubisoft to let them sell some games at, up to, 75% off; awesome guys. Many of these games are some well known titles from the Developer/Publisher.
"Yes, the character models are constructed of cuboid blocks and the environments look like a collection of rectangles, but these were playgrounds first and art second – you can feel the level design as you play, each new room constructed to ensure a fast, steady flow to the platforming that never breaks pace. It remains some of the greatest level design going, and you can see the influences Sands Of Time had on titles like Uncharted and Assassin’s Creed as you hop, shimmy and wall run your way..."
Many creative gamers are taking every opportunity they can get in order to improve their artistic abilities in hopes of some day working in the gaming industry. Raphael Lacoste, who has worked with Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia, has just released an accessible online tutorial showcasing some of his methods for creating such breathtaking works of art.
"Ubisoft released Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands to coincide with the movie release as a interquel in the series. Although many people are use to these types of games not turning out to well, this game has familiar formula that works well for some, but not all. Does the series still live up to the name or does it need a new defining game?"
"Solid Snake makes his return this week in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the PSP to headline the video game releases for this week. Rock Band fans will also get to enjoy a new version featuring punk rockers Green Day while golf fans get a new Tiger Woods for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii."
"Summer is here at least in theory, since practically the weather is still awful, which means that we’ll have to spend more time inside, playing computer games. And if you’re starting to get bored with the games you’re playing already, you should not worry – there are a bunch of hot new titles being released in June 2010 for the PC and you’ll certainly have reasons to go on a spending spree!"
Three times wasn't a charm for UbiSoft as they deliver a game that's fun on its own, but just doesn't live up to the hype of the Sands of Time trilogy.
"It’s been a long 5 years since we have run on walls with the Prince but he makes a triumphant return in the 2010 release of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. Forget the massive changes made with 2008’s Prince of Persia, the original ruffian Prince is back from The Sands of Time bringing along the amazing and challenging platforming with him. The ability to die is back bringing the series back to its tough as nails free-running. It's also the return of time-manipulation a piece once again..."
"Forgetting everything they had done with Prince of Persia (2008), Ubisoft has thrown away the colorful and artistic art direction of the series and opted for a more realistic approach that doesn’t necessarily aid in providing excitement or entertainment. Blander than toddlers’ food, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands doesn’t represent the popular puzzle-solving series well."
All Age Gaming's John Elliott takes a look at the Ubisoft's Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. Is this adventure worth exploring or should it be cast aside and forgotten? Read on to find out.
"Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands sounds like a risky purchase. It’s been released a little too conveniently close to the upcoming Prince of Persia (PoP) film, it’s had nowhere near the publicity that the previous Prince of Persia games had been given, and on top of that the logo for the game (besides the usual awesome ‘Prince of Persia’ text), is slapped with a standard ‘Arial Black’ serif font, which isn’t exactly eye catching nor does it indicate that it’s a polished game.
But Ubiso..."
"With consumers and loyal gamers watching their wallets closely, it would be wise for game developers to really think about the movie-themed games they are pushing on a market of gamers that will not give these game another glance and instead save their money for Red Dead Redemption or Alan Wake. These movie-inspired games can be better if more thought is placed on creative rather than trying to make a quick buck."
This week we a big hit sequel, prequel, new franchise and a game way over do. All big across all platforms to keep everyone entertained. Check out what's on your list this week.
"Red Dead Redemption wannabe owners should keep an eye out on their local Toys R Us this Tuesday as they will have a $25 Gift Card available with purchase of the game. However, the deal is time limited and you have to be a Rewards R Us member. K-Mart and Amazon also are offering Gift Cards for this game."
"Difficult week of games this week but not because there is a lack of new titles to choose from. There is actually a number of tough choices this week for just about every game platform."
In a recent interview for UGDB Thomas Simon, Lead Game Designer on Ubisoft Montreal revealed that Steve Jablonsky, composer of Gears of War 1 and 2 music, Transformers 1 and 2, The Island, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the upcoming Gears of War 3 and Transformers 3 will also score the soundtrack for Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands.
Ubisoft released a developer diary type video for the upcoming PoP:The Forgotten Sands which gives you a first look at gameplay. Also reveling that the prince spends most of the game in his brother kingdom.
"Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands for Wii is a new installment in the popular Prince of Persia series and presents a new adventure within the Sands of Time universe. After leaving his father's kingdom to prove his worth, the Prince is drawn towards a mysterious realm. He quickly discovers that he must harness his acrobatic abilities and powers over the environment to not only survive, but to save a mystic palace from unfathomable evil."
The conference portion of Nintendo of America's media summit has ended today, and here's a full recap of the announcements:
"Ubisoft did everything right with The Sands of Time, almost everything right with sequel Warrior Within, and more-than-a-few things right with The Two Thrones. That's why, five years after the trilogy ended, they're as pleased as a man with two cakes to be returning to the real Prince of Persia. His name is Prince, and he didn't come to funk around."
A brand new episode of the onCAST podcast is now ready to listen to! On this weeks episode Ronnie and Andreas talk about some BioShock 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 in the what they have been playing section, and for news its new Twisted Metal game rumor, EA shutting down servers, and much much more.
"One of the first things I hear from Michael McIntyre, level design director of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, is that it takes place soon after (the awesome) Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Sure, Sands of Time had a proper (though, not nearly as well-received) sequel in Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, but lore-wise, there's a seven-year gap between those two installments -- which provides a convenient place for Forgotten Sands to take place. McIntyre quips, "Obviously, some rea..."
"If you asked most people these days to remember the old Prince of Persia games, they probably wouldn't immediately think all the way back to Jordan Mechner's seminal, rotoscoped PC action game from the '80s. More likely, their minds would run to The Sands of Time, the rampantly successful 2003 attempt to bring Mechner's acrobatic Arabian adventure into 3D on modern consoles. Ubisoft went and reinvented Prince of Persia again in 2008, recasting the prince as a foppish vagabond in a painterly w..."
"Ubisoft has announced the release date for the Wii version of Prince Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. After releasing the first Wii screenshots yesterday, the company announced that the game will arrive on the console on 14 May.
The Forgotten Sands isn't the first Prince Of Persia game for Wii - that would be Rival Swords - but it is the first that has been built from the ground up for the console."
Just sent over, two screenshots from the Wii version of the upcoming Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands.
This version is "built from the ground up" by Ubisoft's Quebec City studio for Nintendo's console, and looks pretty good as far as Wii titles go.
Forgotten Sands launches May 18.
"So far what I've gathered and read . The game is set a few months after Sands of Time. The Prince goes to a neighboring kingdom ruled by his brother name Malik. The Prince sees similarities of his mistake and his brother's mistake. Aside from this, the Prince gets a new companion called Razia who controls the elements/magic, kind of reminds me of Elika in PoP 2008. Aside from this, the combat is going to have about 50 enemies on screen that you have to mow down. Err. I hope its nothing like D..."
"Video game designers have been throwing around whether protagonists should talk or not ever since characters began to speak at all. In many game franchises the main character never speaks, even if everyone else around him does. In Super Mario RPG this is even used as a comedic device. In the early generations of games there was hardly any dialogue, and when there was it was never spoken by the protagonist. Of course, few games from the NES era could have what you would consider "memorable" st..."
Watch Tobin and Yuzo from NooBTooB preview all the games slated to come out between now and April.
Keep in mind they don't cover every game. Just those they deem will be either good or interesting.
"Though revealing little that hasn’t already been announced, the release of a new schedule will put many at ease. Having official release windows for many of the publishers’ upcoming highlights will certainly allow for those waiting with baited breath to organise their finances accordingly. The full release schedule follows below, and Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest from Ubisoft."
Ubisoft has published some brand new screenshots for the up coming Prince Of Persia game. These screens are all in game and the game sure does look nice. The Forgotten Sands is not a sequel to the Prince of Persia game that was released last year, but a continuation of the Sands of Time story line.
"Following the announcement of new gameplay details and the host formats for the forthcoming Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands earlier today, Ubisoft has release a questions and answer session (Q&A) with the game’s producer, Graeme Jennings. Set for release in May 2010 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable (PSP), Wii, Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DS, and Windows-based PC, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is set to fill-in the story between Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and P..."
