"Konami has revealed key gameplay additions to its forthcoming PES 2009 title for Wii. Scheduled for release in Spring 2009, the new game will retain the intuitive ‘point and click’ interface used to control both the player in possession of the ball and to send those around him on to runs into space. At its 2008 Holiday Press Event in Manhattan, video game publisher Konami announced it's Fall/Winter 2008 lineup for North America, bringing games to all game systems and release dates.

"Here are some new shots of PES 2009, giving you a glimpse of some of the off-pitch scenes, and it looks very nice.

Konami sums the game up as "PES Unites". Don't know what that means, but new 'Become a Legend' solo mode is one of biggest new features.

As Konami explains, this "casts the user as a midfielder or striker within a match. Using a default vertical camera view, the player starts as a rookie pro at the start of their career, and charts the many highs and lows of becoming a prof..."
