Professor Layton and the Unwound Future

Professor Layton and the Unwound Future

""The Professor Layton series is one that can appeal to any gender of any age. The game is filled with puzzles and mysteries to solve. Level-5 has announced that they have shipped 11.47 million copies worldwide of their 4 titles in the franchise combined.

This success warrants a celebration. So, to celebrate the sales and next week's launch of February 26 launch of the 3DS's Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle in Japan, Level-5 will host a live webcast on Ustream on February 24 (the..."

"Professor Layton and his young apprentice Luke are up to yet another one of their mystery solving hijinks in Professor Layton and the Unwound Future. As the title suggests, the story deals with time travel and features over a 150 riddles and brain teasers to solve. But is this time-traveling mystery worth racking your brain over?"

"We’ve all read countless “best franchise of all time” lists, and while they’re fun to write and then to argue about, there’s an inherent problem with the “all time” part – you have to consider the 30+ years of gaming history before you get to the modern generation. Heavy hitters like Zelda, Mario, Halo, Warcraft, Metal Gear and GTA are virtually guaranteed a place on the list, so how can there be much room left over for games of right now?

That’s why we’re ousting the old guard and choosin..."

"The premise behind Professor Layton has never made much sense. The gentlemanly Professor travels afar to solve people’s problems, no matter how trivial, so long as they repay him, or his nerd-burger of an assistant Luke, with brain-teasers. The third and final instalment in the main series on the DS is the most bizarre yet, but if anything, that only helps it to become the best in the series."

"I honestly wish I could have given story a higher rating, as in many ways, Unwound Future is by far the strongest of the three Layton games when it comes to story. Although the initial attempts to create a deeper level of character development feel a bit forced, by the end of the tale, you will find yourself grateful for the attempt to better flesh-out our two protagonists (especially Layton); I even found myself crying in the final scenes, and forgetting some irksome plot and development iss..."

"In an exclusive interview, Hino told us that "I obviously didn't imagine the series would achieve the success it has." But, he attributes the franchise's achievements to Level-5's goal to "make an adventure game that anyone could play." Given the popularity of the games, Hino finds it unsurprising that a number of copycats have since followed, such as Puzzle Agent and Blue Toad Murder Files. "Doesn't it follow that if a game gets popular enough, similar games will start to appear?," he asked us."

"In this episode of the TV and Lust video game podcast, it’s “no girls allowed” as Craig, Chris and Seth discuss announcements, media and excitement from Tokyo Game Show 2010. The guys also take listener questions and discuss the games they’ve been playing lately, including Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, Metroid: Other M and Professor Layton and the Unwound Future."

Professor Layton and the Unwound Future was bound to be a success story based on the previous games of the series. For those unaware it is the third installment, and the last in the current trilogy, to the Professor Layton series. Here, IGN review the game several days before the release is set for Europe. What can we expect? Nothing short of a marvel, apparently.

Professor Layton and the Unwound Future is the third entry in the Layton series, and the final chapter of the franchise's first trilogy (though not the last game). Level-5 has stated that the game will feature 165 new puzzles, downloadable brain teasers, and a new hint option. What can fans of the series look forward to with this next entry in the popular puzzle franchise?

"Level 5's top-hatted detective's next adventure has been dated for the UK and EA as Professor Layton and the Lost Future comes to these shores on October 22.

That's nearly a month after the US get the next Layton, though for our troubles we do get a slightly different title – it's called Professor Layton and the Unwound Future in the US.

Anyone who's experienced Layton's previous games – and that really should be anyone who owns a DS – will know what to expect, with a curious and char..."

Nintendo has announced today that it has moved up the North American release date of the third Professor Layton game, Professor Layton and the Unwound Future for Nintendo DS, to a new release date of September 12th. A new trailer for the upcoming movie "Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva" has been released. I really hope that they release it in america. Chances are that they won't, but a kid can dream can't he?
