Activision has claimed another victim. Bizarre Creations will be closing its doors for good this Friday, February 18th. Over the past 15 years they had made around 20 games, including hits like the Project Gotham series and Geometry Wars
"With the news of the official restructuring of the Xbox 360 pricing strategy yesterday, it appears that retailers are beginning to take action with their existing stock. Electronic Theatre contacted a number of UK high street retailers today, both national chains and independent retailers, and discovered some quite shocking results."
"The 400 MS Point pack is the Challenge Pack and will include the same two game modes described above, a new World Challenge Arcade Mode (20 arcade events in 3 themed chapters) along with seven new cars and three new bikes. The cars: the 2008 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Concept, 2007 Volkswagen Golf GTI W12-650, 2007 Peugeot Flux, 1987 BMW M3 E30 DTM, 2007 Ferrari 430 Scuderia, 2008 Honda S2000 CR, and 2008 Callaway C16 Speedster. "As part of a seasonal anti drink-driving campaign, the Scottish Government is this week allocating some £10,000 GBP to the integration of advisory public information adverts onto videogame billboards found in the likes of Project Gotham Racing 4, Need for Speed: Carbon, and Pro Evolution Soccer 2008."
With the merger of Bizarre Creations by Activision, Bizarre Creations, one of the largest independant developers in the UK is no longer independant. However, this is far from bad news, as this means that the PGR series is no longer restricted to the XBOX platform, and future versions could very well be appearing on the Playstation 3, Wii or even PC.
The merger will see Bizarre Creation having the same freedom as before, except this time with support from Activision, which can only mean on...
Xbox 360's Project Gotham Racing 4 has gone gold (means it's 100% done, certified and sent off to manufacturing). Four new screenshots were also released and some hints at future downloadable content.
Speculation is currently looming over what Microsoft will be offering at the Tokyo Games Show tomorrow for there Xbox 360. Rumours build up from a great line up of products with the likes off Konami's Winning Eleven, Microsoft Game Studio's Halo 3, Koei's Blade Storm and Square Enix's The Last Remnant including many more. But I guess we will find out tomorrow for sure.
With PGR only a month away (less than a month if your in the US, slightly more if your in Europe), BizzareCreations (the developers of the game) have given all PGR fans a treat with information that was revealed at the Leipzig event a few weeks ago. So let's take you through the quick run-down (visit the source for the full details).

"You wont see different times of day per city because this involves recreating all the textures again (one for day and one for night). Whilst this wasnt a problem for our dev team, it was a problem fitting all this data onto a single DVD. So weve worked around the problem by providing different lighting models per city. For example, Macau is always in the daytime, but if you play it during a storm everything looks darker and more foreboding. If you play during a blizzard then things are sli..."
"Today, Bizarre Creations released the official box art for Project Gotham Racing 4 (viewable after the break) featuring a closeup of a red vehicle sporting a PGR 4 emblem. It's quite the interesting choice for box art as we're on the fence about the design. But if you look closer you'll see something that's very interesting. Behind the PGR 4 logo is the reflection of a motorcycle blazing past the car. Does this mean that motorcycles will be drivable in the fourth edition of the PGR franchise ..."
"Being PGR fans youll already appreciate how challenging the Nurburgring sets out to be. Probably youre good enough to stay with the curves even when it rains, sure even when it pours. But try snow. Try thick, heavy, bad-ass blizzard kind of snow with gigantic flakes obscuring your view. This is what Bizarre Creations has forecast for PGR4 and yes youll still be required to power drift for those kudos points. We fear for your sanity we really do, controlling your back end wont be easy an..."
