""Later, Notch himself confirmed that he and Schafer were chatting.

'Me and @TimOfLegend are talking to each other via email, and he’s cool with me saying whatever I want about it,' he wrote once again on his Twitter account. 'He’s, like, super awesome.'""

"The actual rights to a video game usually fall into some goofy state of limbo and usually remain there for a rather lengthy period of time before something concrete is ironed out. More often than not, the publisher owns the rights to the game and simply pays a royalty to the people who put the hard work in. Well, the people behind the cult classic Psychonauts finally own the rights to the game they created over six years ago."

It was said that 10% of video game titles make up 90% of the industry's gross revenue. What about the other percentage of video games lacking a good name. Are they bad games? Have you ever played a game you loved that never once was advertised. Well check out this Top Ten List of Best Video Games that people never talk about.

"Critical Gamer writes: Tim Schafer is one of the most famous names in the games industry, and not without reason. He played an important part in the making of the first two Monkey Island games, played a larger part still in Day of the Tentacle, and was the driving force behind Full Throttle and Grim Fandango. Everybody had high hopes for Double Fine Productions, the company he formed in 2000; but has Schafer become his own worst enemy in recent years?"

The PlayStation 2 library featured some of the most important games ever in terms of pushing the boundaries of video games as art. Here are five of the best.

"Watch the Psychonauts do Inception to perfection with hilarious results. Obviously the developers at Double Fine Productions are such fans of the blockbuster film, they decided to pay homage Psychonaut style."

"Every gaming season there are dozens of games vying for attention. Some are destined to be blockbusters; some are destined to be flops; still others are destined to be forgotten. Because of competing titles, poor marketing strategies, or limited budgets, several games with the potential to become the next best thing are just lost through the cracks. It’s a sad thing when a carbon copy Madden game can outsell a great and innovative title like Mirror’s Edge but it’s a fact of life."

"There has been a heated argument over whether or not video games can be considered an art form. One side's augment is that something interactive, that is subjective to the user's choice cannot be art. I wholeheartedly disagree. It is an art because we can choose, because we can make games something different, unique to the player. Art is not a single definition, it doesn't have boundaries. When you confine something like art, to take it away from everyday life; it starts it to lose its meanin..."

"Some people blame the economy for a game’s poor sales but with the gaming industry gaining ground even in the face of the sunken economy there has to be other reasons for it. Some people blame market saturation saying there are too many desirable games to compete for the available time and cash gamers are willing to surrender. Still others think that a game’s sales have everything to do with competing titles released on or around the same date. Whatever the reason, it’s clear that some gam..."

"Part three of our series takes a look at platformers, a very prolific genre on all three systems last generation. Playstation 2 had a lot of the bigger names though, giving it an edge over the others in this department. A problem with the Platformer genre is how similar they can be, so when making this list, I went for some that stand out as different and have some more original concepts."

""Ramblings of a Moron" is a review series done by WSGF member Cynagen. While reviews from other sites focus on extensive play and detailed postmortem analysis, "Ramblings of a Moron" is a first impression "stream of consciousness" review. The grammar isn't perfect, and the prose can sometimes be disjointed, but these are the first impressions of a seasoned WSGF Insider."

"So the global economy is taking a giant dump, and your job is among the waste. Your house is worth less than you owe the bank. Your town/state/country is bankrupt. Big banks are rolling in your future taxes. Meanwhile, you couldn't get a loan if you offered a shylock your ring finger up front. Times are tough, but you can take comfort in this undeniable fact: Never in your life have you had so much time to game. Sure, you could use your time on the unemployment dole to take some classes and i..."

James Walker of Binge Gamer is almost at the finish line for the Top Games Lists, now releasing the 2005 list. While the Xbox 360 did see a release during this year, it was at the end of the year and none of the first generation of titles were able to make their way on this list when compared to what the older systems were still pumping out. Including many franchises that we are still playing today.
